With the way MMO Server communities work in this newer age of non-committed overly satisfaction-saturated gaming, many players often move to the flavor of age servers. I would have loved to stay on Sanctum of Rall back before it collapsed when everyone jumped ship to TC / JQ / BG but it was simply not optimal for world vs world anymore. Meaning I wouldn’t receive any benefits simply because I didn’t stay on a dead server. See where anet will run into problems?

The idea of making players feel like special snowflakes for nonchalantly committing to trivial things like their first server or how long they have been playing has never sat well with me. Things should be earned and be available for everyone to acquire with the same amount of work. Just because someone, say, started playing before another person doesn’t mean they should benefit from it imo.

I solo roam off guild raid / peak times everyday, and would love to get some more fights.

In response to some people complaining about running into mesm0rz and whatever the bandwagon op class is now, I haven’t had many problems. Just need to learn how to outplay them.

This exists, it’s called permanent bank contract. They only need to fix/implement the ability to use consumables from bank by rightclicking and we’re set.

I’ve lately been just buying a ton of gear and sigils+runes and doing weird build combos to roam with from gems→gold.

Thinking of just biting the bullet and investing enough money in gems to buy some legendaries.

Looks like it could work, I would personally use JI unless you want to be a support role.

In the case of a support role I would go with some more support-ish gear. Possibly more celestial or even clerics/magi for party heals (not sure if this is even viable anymore)

If you’re going for a more hybrid / damage role I’d trade up some of your surv for more crit+power or condi so you have more stopping power. I have no problem rolling with ~2500 toughness with medis.

I like the aegis, gives the class a unique look, especially when wielding a 2handed weapon.

It also gives shields a nice aura effect imo.

Giving an option in the settings to disable effects like this would be nice for players with bad computers, however. [Effects such as legendary weapon animations, etc.]

Won’t change anything. A smaller character is usually better as it makes it harder for enemies to tell what skills you are using. Just go with whatever race/size you like best.

Rumor has it that this is a good idea for commanders..

But usually I don’t have a problem seeing an enemy asuran commander…

Most likely not getting a response because this has been asked a bazillion times before, but I don’t post often so..

Pretty sure the most generic build would be pvt + 0/30/30/10 AH w/ soldiers runes

However, I have seen other commanders use different variants mixing around PvT/Knights or PvT/Clerics or all 3.

Apparently the Healway build is also still great for Zerg / Roaming, but if you are commanding I guess you would be using equal PvT:Clerics for the HP boost on engagements, rather than mostly clerics.

there is the basic build you can play around with, have a H/GS in your inventory for blasting stuff and pulling players in on engagements. Always have a staff for regroup empowers.

This is a really fun and balanced matchup.

… and the one time we have a blob that isn’t outnumbered by 50 we’re getting backdoored by BG. I mean, it’s really to be expected.

Amazing bag farm at Bluevale camp on SoR. Props to Choo and TW for leading the charge, and props to BG for coming back regardless of wiping, shows your true courage.

Sigh, people being far too critical with WvW yet again.

In my opinion, there are only 2 problems with WvW right now.
1. Skill Lag – 3 way zerg battles usually cause intense amounts of lag, where it can be upwards of 20 seconds to cast a skill. This is the more serious problem with WvW, and I know that Anet isn’t stupid enough to overlook this problem. They just need the funding and “Go ahead” from the big boys at NCSoft, who seem to think spending most of this games revenue on Aion and Lineage is appropriate.

2. Stale maps – We would LOVE some new terrain to battle on, even if its slight variations, the same old same old gets tiresome after long periods of time. Then again, in order to have a balanced terrain, especially at this scale of PVP battle, there needs to be significant testing and redesigning in order to have a successful map where one side doesn’t get a game breaking advantage over the other.

Overlooking that, I am having a lot of fun playing the game purely for World vs World and the odd living story event or SPvP run. This game hasn’t reached it’s first year anniversary yet, and I think people need to really take a step back and be patient about the key issues that are lessening the fun of the game for its community, though I do know some of these problems have existed since launch.

Regardless, the game has launched quite well, compared to the proclaimed MMO Superpower that blizzard maintains, in which 8 months of the games first released build was offline 90% of the time.

TL;DR Yes, there are evident problems. Yes, they will be fixed in time.

picture from sunnyhill in bg bl, few min ago, must be a glitch or something because i saw sor guys coming through wall while they attacked tower, and no, they were not there prior to attack, after this picture 3 more came through the door (no portal) were capping tower before zerg managed to take down gate. all guys who came through the tower had fire greatsword elementalist elite skill.
