OP here. If not commanding a zerg, I usually roam. If you’re dueling on or right immediately next to an objective (skill range) then you’re not dueling right at all.
Obsidian Sanctum’s Arena was BUILT SPECIFICALLY for you guys. It’s a special place for special people where they can do what they want to their heart’s content.
If you’re dueling in open-WvW when that place is available, the only reason could be is that you’re either trying to sneak roaming in with it or you like to troll gank lowbies.
Strategically, there is no reason to allow an enemy player to live near an objective. If you were off in some corner of the map away from the roads, sentries, camps and yaks, it may be different, but when we see yak symbols constantly disappearing where the so-called “respected” duelers are doing their thing, that can’t be tolerated.
Seriously, what’s so wrong about OS or even guild arenas?
Duels in WvW are hardly uncommon, you see them everywhere and the guys usually harass/give incredible attitude to you if you happen to slaughter their counterparts from other servers. Then the whispers start.
Obsidian Sanctum had a revision done to it to encourage duelers to move along to more appropriate territory. The Mists has literally set up servers to have a 1v1 capability. They even gave us the ability to great arenas in our guild halls!
Yet still, see groups of players dueling in WvW being a general annoyance to everyone, and when you mistake their group for roamers they act like we’re the problem.
They claim they do it mostly for their dailies.
My solution? Simple. Create a dueling daily/set of dueling dailies that work in Obsidian Sanctum’s arena, and that area only. Put a button in the “B” tab that teleports straight there, call it “Duelists Arena” or some such thing.
Looking to do raiding as a healing tank well as being a WvW zerg healer.
I’d like to know if Arena-Net has an available DPS and Healing Meter? This game has been out long enough that they should really just be checkbox-options in the options menu. Someone suggested to be ArcDPS but it has a scary warning in it to never send error reports or report bugs while using it (we send SO many bug reports we swear this would be detrimental to the devs)
Could really use some help on this! We want a legal meter that has no fishy warnings in it. ANET WHY YOU NO MAKE ONE AMAZING ONE YOURSELVES? I’d gem store love you long time!
It’s not a kaiser sword -.-
Please, please, please tell me this is going to be an item we can use in the game besides just in SAB whenever it becomes available. XD I would love this!
Also those fiery ninja nunchuks that the boss has at the beginning of the game would be pretty beast too, you could put them in as maces, no one would be against it!
I titled this game breaking, simply because these glitches make people want to quit for entirely other reasons besides how buggy hard the mode itself is.
One glitch I’ve experienced and seen others experience is where we are sent to hell (with the infinite continue coin in our bag) and our character gets teleported throughout the room, eventually stuck in a spot where we cannot talk to Moto and therefore become unable to continue the level (even if we were just about to finish!) this really disheartens players who are already dying nonstop.
Another glitch I’ve uncovered is one where my character dies, the screen stays grey and I do not revive (had 13 lives left) and the cinematic icon appeared on my character. 10 seconds later I get kicked out of the level and dropped into SAB’s hometown all over again. Nice waste of a 40 min first trib mode run for that level -.-
After that I have some mild irritation complaints. Areas of the levels where spikes come out simply for being off by a couple inches on a jump, yet by all accounts you’re still jumping from one stone to another without touching the ground. I know trib mode is supposed to be hard, I’ve done it all before, but I believe touching up some of the “clunky” (as best described) traps and making them more smooth would allow players to still have the annoyance of a trap there without it being about needing an incredibly precise jump with little to no markers for where you can safely stand.
Failing that mobile waypoints sounds like the most hilarious thing ever.
You’re right, it felt like a stretch after I posted it, but those were just a few ideas.
If the Aerodome isn’t good enough, describe what you feel it lacks. More details are always better, and it helps others to understand exactly what you’re asking for rather than blind guessing.
Fair enough, though I thought I made it clear in the OP.
What I’m referring to is an area (like the Guild Hall Arena perhaps) giving -COMPLETE- control over fake items, allowing you to equip, infuse, and play with, any available armor and weapon item in the game. You can’t remove them from the area and any builds you make in there are immediately reverted to your original build once you leave. You can test these builds against friends or bots.
Think similar to what you can do in the sPvP lobby, only without them patching out sets of stats for nerfs.
The point would be to allow you to test out anything in the game before you commit to getting it. You can’t really do that fully in sPvP, and you REALLY can’t do it in the Aerodome.
I think it’s quite simple, WvW has been feeling a little stagnant lately, why don’t we spice it up a bit with more uses for supply? More mobile siege platforms (like Golems, or even the Assault Roller!) I think a mobile shield platform, a mobile waypoint, or even the ability to set up a “Camp” that will then have dolyaks routed towards it when nearby, that slowly gains guards, armored walls and all the wonders of a tower.

Hello A-net, I have a wonderful idea!
Please, in the Obsidian Sanctum jump puzzle, implement a daily reward for completion:
1 WvW level.
I feel that doing this would fairly bring people back into the puzzle, allow people an alternative to zergs for WvW experience and liven it up, once again.
You mean something like this?
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Special_Forces_Training_Area
Aerodome doesn’t go far enough.
Okay, this game has a wonderful feature built into the sPvP lobby that allows you to build almost any build you want and test it out before committing.
…almost any build.
Please, A-net. Give us a place where we can test out ANY and ALL possible build combinations available. No concerns about what’s PvP legal or whatever.
This would allow us to say, test out Trailblazer builds or see how Nomad’s fairs with tanking.
It’s not asking for much. Some test dummies to hit, perhaps an arena to test fight friends in. You can’t keep any of the gear you test, you just get to try it out before committing HUNDREDS of gold to the build, only to discover after that you might really hate it. PLEASE.
Like the title says, please fix the Chak Egg Sac! Nobody wants to do the event, it’s nearly impossible to do even if you manage to get some people…come on Anet! Help us out a bit!
I can fully understand you. It happens to our server also. The only viable solution is that the guild who claimed an objective, should uncheck the “Public Activation” box. That would mean only the guild that claimed the objective can activate the “Tactivators”.
Regards
Seed
That doesn’t work though, not all WvW guilds are 24/7. :/
Hey A-Net, nothing quite feels as nice as when you have an enemy zerg approaching your keep (or SM) and everyone readies for the emergency waypoint to pop only to hear in Team Chat that it was popped 5 minutes beforehand during a dead period. Hell I’ve seen spies run up, pop all the Tactivators then immediately log out.
You guys really need to fix this, not just for this Tactivator but for them all.
My proposal? Implement limitations on their usage; make it so low-level players can’t accidentally set them off (perhaps have a BIG warning message go off?) or that it takes more than one player to activate them.
Also set limitations on anyone who has server transferred that they cannot use a Tactivator during that entire match-up.
Perhaps have it get automatically pinged in Team Chat that “_” has activated Emergency Waypoint at XXXX Keep!"
This really is getting out of hand, tonight marks now the 2nd time in a few days I’ve personally seen someone trigger all 3 when keep is not under attack and then they either run off or log out.
PLEASE do something.
Hello, it’s been quite some time since I last entered Structured PVP, and I find not only my rune but my amulet is missing and nowhere to be found?
I run a cleric guardian with mercy rune for my group as a primary healer/tank while they dps.
Someone told me in map chat they removed them because of elementalists in the top, top, top tiers of pvp?
I’m just curious, is this permanent? There doesn’t seem to be another build I can do with my friends that’s quite a reliable tank/heals build and I want to get back into pvp. Anyone have any suggestions for amulets/runes along those lines?
Running a mace/shield guardian w/staff & honor, valor, virtues lines.
Also they seem to have taken battle rez’s out of WvW…lol made slow players like me that can only heal obsolete.
He’s not looking for a how-to, he obviously knows what he is talking about when it comes to warriors.
This post is about how broken the class has become when all others are getting seemingly endless nerfs. There should be no existence of a “rabbit” or “runner” type-spec yet here we see builds popping up allowing players a perceivably limitless amount of escape-and-run opportunities. These builds are highly ignorant of standard MMORPG balance etiquette as they spit in the face of cooldowns and tactics.
I have a guild that functions with roughly 5 active players at our peaks. We have been around for years and we do not wish to be forced to either join a larger guild or grab our credit cards just to get the BASIC upgrades.
We are guild level 29, and running out of available upgrades. We will be forced to make the Tavern tier 2 soon…but this is not viable. This singular upgrade that grants absolutely nothing in itself costs a horrendous TWELVE THOUSAND flax seed piles if farmed.
This is seriously BS. Please, PLEASE. Fix the expensive upgrades! Find a way to flood the market with Flax and Flax fibers. SEAWEED AS WELL, it only has like 12 spots it spawns and it’s VERY irregular.
Most duelers are roamers who finally found a fight, rather then being ran over by a zerg…
Untrue. Most duelers sit in one area not near any sentries, camps, or any other objectives. They don’t contribute to the team in any way, shape or form. Roamers on the other hand, go to objectives and take them and move on and take and take and take. They hardly stop unless to farm kills or kill duelers.
“Finally found a fight”…. ugh. Quit trying to sound noble or high and mighty. Go to sPvP or the Obsidian Sanctum Arena. You can duel there to your heart’s content.
So do you really want to take player versus player out of wvw : D
If you just want to hit gates and guards go to EotM, there are no queues.
I’m all for players getting into combat with other players who are playing to the objective. However sitting around in an area dueling over nothing is literally no different than idling, which players get kicked for. I see no difference.
Obsidian Sanctum Arena? Didn’t even know such a thing existed.
You mean: We waste time running our zerg around the whole of outer SM to run over any would be duelers in the area, cause unless we send a force 10x larger our zerg quality dueling haters will come back in body bags.
They built a HUGE addon to the Obsidian Sanctum explicitly for Duelers that meet up in WvW. Also, we don’t waste time hunting duelers, we kill them on passing with a high frequency of passing those spots. We do this because duelers tend to “buddy up” with enemy players, and we have observed them allowing enemies to break siege or rez non-dueling enemy players. They even party up and provide intel about commander tag locations and newsworthy communication from the team. They also sit and whine constantly when anybody fights near them. The SMC outter rings are a new hotspot especially with the new “Tomato” siege tactic.
Frankly with the new WvW update though, queuing is crazy. Trying to get into EBG takes upwards of 10 minutes now during daytime on servers that only had that during reset day. Since there exists a designated dueling area, just go there. What’s the harm?
They made the Obsidian Sanctum Arena explicitly for duelers. Come on guys, the EBG queue is through the roof on most servers right now. It really is becoming a matter of griefing if one of the reasons the queue is so high is because of the mass amount of players detrimentally dueling in mid-map locations.
We run all our zergs with a kill on sight rule of thumb for duelers. If you guys wanna do it, go to OS. That, or go to the wonderfully unused Oasis sections of the BL maps. Nobody, not even zergs go there.
I don’t really see a need for it.
I just realized people were replying to this. There is definitely a need for it, many, many players carry multiple sets of armor and utilize multiple builds based on what they are encountering. Dual specializations would be amazing. In my guild alone several players use multiple sets on their toons. I use several on my mesmer, 2 on my guardian. It’s not detrimental either.
Like the title says.
Dual spec is important for people who carry multiple sets of armor and like to change things on the fly. For example I have a tank Guardian who doubles as a Berserker Dragonhunter, or a Mesmer with 3 different sets of armor for 3 different builds.
It takes extremely long to change from one set and one build to the next, why don’t you guys just give us the ability to save builds and reload them?
Hellllloooooo.
So, currently already have the color-scheme pieces I want or need from the last time SAB came out.
Please tell me there is a new world 3 I am simply having difficulty locating and getting into!
Please. xD
SAB is back. It’s Super Adventure Festival time! Check your in-game mail and head to Rata Sum to take part!
Enjoy.
Hey is there any new world to go along with this? I would really love to start working on a Red super set of skins or a Purple set!
Old collector’s edition, all chat things open. He can’t even link from his inventory. We think it’s possibly a child filter of some sort. Is there an account option for that?
I have a friend that can’t type in guild chats or see whispers, I think he has an account setting preventing talking to others. How would he go about disabling this?
I’ll be simple and to the point.
The major/minor runes and sigils are an enormous pain in the kitten and really, I never used them when leveling and have ZERO use for them on my 80’s, and they sell for almost nothing.
Either find a way to make them useful to use again (like say, mystic forge x4 of the same on into exotic versions or whatever, SOMETHING) or give us a quick disposal method that can work in zergs/raids/dungeons.
I mean, a quick sell button exclusively for them would be cool. Better would be a way to avoid the MASSIVE bag space they instantly take up from the smallest amount of loot.
Get on this guys, this is a year 1 problem for the game, and I bet most of the community agrees.
So, almost every time I log out, and log back in to the same character, my character is moved on me. If I’m in Silverwastes I get sent back to Camp Resolve. If I’m in Lions Arch I get sent to a spot in the middle of the yard in front of the portal to Gendarran Fields.
I usually don’t complain about it too much, but tonight I logged out in Rata Sum and got sent back to that same spot in Lions Arch.
What the hell is going on? Do I need to make a video showing this and send it to Anet?
I think it might have something to do with my unfinished living story. (I still haven’t killed Zhaitan but I have completed a good portion of Heart of Thorns)
For fun hypothetical from the game vs irl.
Let’s say you are surrounded on all sides by 1000+ standard enemies.
There are normal human-type allies nearby.
You are given the option to choose one and only one class from this game as an avatar in order to take care of the situation.
The abilities of the class are amplified/scaled up for #’s of enemies hit by skills.
Which class would you choose?
Personally: Guardian, heavy support cleric build. Dat shield bubble.
Hello, Guild Wars 2 company and fans of the game.
I am posting here to ask you to quit removing the content that fans like to go out and find. There was a room in the Guild Hall inside the outcropping way up above the War Room. It took using jumping skills and decorations to reach, but that kinda thing is fun. As a level 20 guild with only a t1 War Room upgrade, we were actually thinking how cool it would be if that room became an Armory. We were deciding on whose room it would be, just like rooms in other hidden locations.
Then we find out it’s been completely sealed off. (At least conventionally speaking)
There was a Melandru tree at the top as well, we heard guilds were decorating it. That’s gone now as well. Seriously?!?!
What is wrong with you Arena Net? That is content BOUGHT AND PAID FOR.
People could’ve put decorations in rooms you’ve sealed up.
You can see in the picture below, the aforementioned hidden room all sealed away behind walls.
Infusion, you’re right. The same WxP awarded for repairing a wall should be rewarded for protecting it in the first place. Perhaps even slightly more? (say 25 as opposed to 20) Since you’re actually saving your faction supply for repairing the wall there should be compensation that makes it more worthwhile than to let them damage a wall and just repair it.
Summary: Allow operators of Shield Generators to earn WvW exp for each siege shot they stop with the 3 skill.
Argument:
Last night, a friend of mine and I spent roughly 2 hours using 2 shield generators to protect Durios from a treb firing from SMC. We deflected most of their shots, using that 3 skill bubble ability.
Now, there’s an issue that makes players not want to do what we just did: There’s zero actual reward.
You can hop on a treb and hit a tower from SMC and get rewards for it, for hitting so many different targets. There are multitudes of ways to get WvW Exp, however being on a Shield Generator isn’t really one of them. (Unless you’re hitting a very close player with the 1 skill).
Right now, players using this siege should be rewarded a small amount of WvW exp for every siege shot they deflect with a bubble. This would cause more players to actually want to defend points from siege. I don’t think it’s too much to ask for.
Seriously, just as the title has stated. Make scribing guild bound. I don’t care if you make it a physical part of the guild hall itself in the form of upgrades (which it should have been in the first place!)
Right now players have the ability to abandon a guild after that guild has worked and paid for them to level up their Scribing. We are already seeing posts of players selling their Scribing services, which only serves to slow individual guild efforts.
Anet, please fix this before it becomes a huge issue.

Bumping this because it still needs done.
So, I’m a part of a Mercenary-Class guild. We’re level 20 for the Guild Hall. We’re small in WvW, about 5 to 8 active people at our peaks. We’ve been in operation since the game launched, and we usually do covert roaming in WvW, with the odd tagging up to take towers and keeps. Groups like ours have been not just necessary, but completely relied-upon.
We had the ability to provide all the available buffs on players at keeps, towers and castles under our control. We were viable and felt we were treated fairly by Arenanet.
Now, we are struggling to even get back to where we once stood. All these stupid mandatory Guild Hall upgrades just to be viable in WvW, and we can’t even drop all the buffs on players that we used to.
You removed the issues with players needing to put money into upgrading the towers manually with low cost upgrades, and created a stonewall problem of upgrades for towers/keeps that cost an arm and a leg to the guild that put the upgrade in.
Tell me, what incentive do we have to put a 10g value schematic upgrade into a tower if we think that tower might fall in an hour?
Please, fix WvW. It should have NOTHING to do with Guild Halls, and if it does, it shouldn’t cost SO MUCH GOLD. Some of our small guilds don’t have those resources, and we got this game to play a game, not to farm just to get back to where we once where. This is bullkitten and everyone knows it.

After what feels like 6 solid months of Sea of Sorrows vs Fort Aspenwood vs Tarnished Coast, I have but one, tiny, itty bitty little thing to ask for from Arena Net:
PLEASE.
Switch up the matchings! Give us new people to fight! Our commanders feel less motivated as each week goes by. Maybe have some mechanic that once every 6 months the server list for match ups gets randomized.
It’s not much. This is just getting too tiring and repetitive facing the exact same players day in and day out.
Wield a sword instead of a torch and you’ve got Leona cosplay.
Like so?
Yeah, it doesn’t go anywhere…so I climbed out of the Gilded Hollow regardless :p there’s a Melandru tree hidden up there…
I am literally at this moment building up to jump in to the updraft and see where it takes me…people in guild keep saying it’s there for looks…but I am literally so high up in the Hall right now that the updraft can’t be seen. It’s taken me about 2 hours to get to here.
Amateur.
That looks more like a lightbulb than a sun.
It’s all about location :p I look like that too when I stand somewhere sunny and bright, lol.
This is all pointless. They aren’t going to change anything. It’s too late now. If they made the system fair at this point, it would totally screw over the guilds that have already sunk thousands into upgrades.
I’m a WVWer. Larger guilds, like, well, no names, already have some of their auras unlocked, whereas smaller guilds like mine don’t have anything unlocked. Other WvW guilds that are really PvX have lots of stuff unlocked. But both are effective WvW guilds. One regularly fields 20-30 on raid nights, mine fields 15-20 on raid nights. The difference is that the larger one has more people who do pvx. A guild I was recently in was sitting on 7,000 gold, whereas my current guild is sitting on 10.
Again, this isn’t going to change. Just accept it, be depressed, or stop playing.
It’s perfectly fine to let them fix it and accept that whatever gold has been sunk into it is gone. We are ready to accept that, and we’ve dropped $2000 gold between less than 8 people. Maybe you should be ready for that as well.
The problem is, a lot of people won’t accept that, and the forums will light up like a bonfire with people who have suddenly lost 500g+ each. I’m pretty sure that’s not the kind of publicity Anet wants, and wouldn’t be a fun community to have around us here…
There’s got to be better ways of balancing things. Like providing smaller halls with less/smaller options, like WvW-only-upgrade halls or something.
Under your way of thinking, that still won’t work. Smaller guilds that have been paying big guild money would still be screwed. If you can’t handle the idea of accepting the loss of gold, then the only other option available to anet is to give away all the guild hall upgrades on next patch.
This thread needs more puns on this subject!
What are the armor/weapons?
How are you GLORIOUSLY INCANDESCENT??
Since I don’t have the attention span for going after Legendaries, I decided to do what I could with what was available.
The shield (my personal favorite piece of the set) is the Storm Wizard’s Super Shield, from the Super Adventure Box. The mace is just the Zenith one.
My backpiece is also Storm Wizard’s gear, so it glows the same way as the shield.
I’m using the Lunatic outfit, of course.
Finally, the Poly-Undulating Refractor (orange) over a dye set of Celestial dye. (Celestial Dye glows more!) I’d love to use the Celestial armor pieces, but this outfit unfortunately doesn’t allow for taking parts out here or there and replacing them, as well as I went Molten gloves (which I regret and wish I could undue).
BTW I LOVE THE TRAIL that the shield gives me. I AM A LEGENDARY WEAPON MWAHAHAHAHAHA.
This is all pointless. They aren’t going to change anything. It’s too late now. If they made the system fair at this point, it would totally screw over the guilds that have already sunk thousands into upgrades.
