1. How about the random arena style pick up play? The hot join / hot swap system kinda makes me feel … bleh … about any sense of teamwork. I mean largely for mini-games like dragon ball, haven’t really done spvp. Would be nice to not get stuck waiting 15 minutes for the win I was getting because all the opposition left!
2. Skills, I miss the variety and ability to see exactly what my opponent was doing… Also miss being prohibited from using skills if the target is out of range, though I can almost appreciate that one as a user skill thing, idk.
3. 8 man parties, 5 is too kitty cat small, and annoyingly an odd number. I have more friends than that.
Edit: I just realized you asked for 1 and I gave 3 … sue me =P
I’m getting this issue also, fell through 3 times in what felt like an hour or so. If it happens again, I’m giving up for the night…
p.s. I actually had to use google to find this thread … the search tool needs work.
edit: make that 4 times

There’s a chance that the automatic teleport out of the start and getting killed counts as “active play”. I’m in a game right now by myself and I can tell you it’s given me the boot warning a few times already waiting semi-afk for people to join…
I agree completely. Even though I (barely) managed to do all the living story achievements to date, I would still like to be able to, for example, go back and try to kill the other version of the boss in the molten alliance dungeon.
They want this to be like a tv show. Except more like the 1960s and earlier british ones where they junked the originals so no one could ever watch them again. Just think about how happy all the Doctor Who fans are that huge chunks of the first several seasons are gone forever! I mean, what market is there for watching a show that was aired last year (cough, netflix)… The tv comparison is so apt.
Thanks to the 2 week time limit, this latest and greatest content is probably going to make me fail my goal of getting all the living story achievements. I should thank anet for freeing me of this foolish goal. It’ll probably save me many a gem as I won’t get as involved in the content from here going forward.
I was actually really excited when I read the news for this event. Saw what I assumed was a return of two of my favorite mini games from gw1: roller beetle racing and dragon arena. When I realized that moa racing was little better than 9 rings or rock paper scissors and dragon ball (while still potentially fun, haven’t managed to get a good contest yet) only barely resembled dragon arena… I was pretty disappointed.
The fact that the content in free has no bearing on one’s reaction to the content. Some of us just expected more out of mini games that we loved from the original. But maybe I should just lower my expectations because its “free.”
This should have been roller beetle racing 2.0 … Just saying
This game was obviously designed by their game currency economy guy. Its sole purpose is as a gold sink. As I was walking up I was sure that (obviously) it must be betting some form of event token or candy or something… Imagine my shock when I saw 50s… Still miffed about the whole thing.
I put off getting crab grabber until last weekend and spent an hour working on it before I realized it wasn’t progressing, a little disappointed I’m going to miss out on a title because I procrastinated. I actually passed up a chance to get it achievement factory style because I wanted to get it “legitimately”. So much for my goal of filling up all the living story achievement panes.
Thanks for the fix, still wish it had some effect just for coolness factor, but I think I only wish that because you spoiled me with the molten alliance pick. =)
A tad disappointed in this tbh. Feels like 800 gems down the tube. Guess this had to be bad to make up for how good the molten pick was… =(
Ok, so maybe red has a slight edge in assaulting SM, but that doesn’t help much, because its position is the least defensible.
Are there cases where the green server wins EB but doesn’t win the borderlands?
Let me reword that question: Does the top ranked server usually win in Borderlands? Probably, yeah. But that really has nothing to do with what I’m talking about.
I’ll take the lack of comments after 60 views and no posts as to why I’m wrong as evidence that I’m right. Kinda expected some discussion on this as every time I bring it up in EB team chat I get at least a few comments from my server. But maybe the forums are mostly useless.
Combining the servers into one ladder would definitely make things interesting in some ways … Tough to say if the interesting bits would outweigh the drawback bits, but meh.
Right now it seems like the top ranked server gets the strongest position (green) and the bottom ranked team gets the weakest (red). Blue is actually kinda so-so. Like a handicap in reverse, yeah? If anyone thinks I’m wrong on the strengths of the positions let me know why that is please.
Edit: I’m referring to positions on the Eternal Battlegrounds.
He was indicating that you should port when the event ends because the way point is contested while the event is up. I haven’t tried to do it before, but I’m guessing he’s saying there’s a small delay before the next one starts and it closes again.
I’m willing to bet the popularity of thieves for solo play is more to do with their ability to get away if things get bad then them being generally imba. If a fight goes bad (which may not be in a lot of posted vids, idk) you can just cloak and heartseeker away.
WvW needs zombie hordes. Like maybe at night (maybe that’d solve the night camping problem). It’d be kitten cool (yes I actually typed “kitten”).
Nope, it’s official: they no longer love us (or wvw)
They don’t love wvw anymore … no new rankings ever!
Went into wvw with a level 2 thief, managed to get in, almost take someone down and get out without dying in a huge m^mob fight. Tend to have worse luck surviving with my main (warrior).
I don’t mean to trash your idea, but you didn’t even read my whole post so, meh. The issue I saw was losing your spot in wvw, the queues for getting into the puzzles was an afterthought (though I could see it being potentially exploitable … dance party to deny other servers access to “free siege blueprints” anyone?).
Except, you go in, lose your spot and have to queue up to get back in to the rest of wvw. Or potentially have to queue to get into jump puzzles too…
Feeding the trolls is always fun yeah? (Personally I’m looking forward to GW2 Halloween event more than anything atm)
If you want to put a dagger as offhand, you have to do it from your paperdoll, which takes up far more of the screen, and requires clicking and dragging rather than just a simple double-click.
Pro tip: right click on the dagger and select “Equip in Off Hand” only takes a second longer than a double click
It’s almost too late for a fix to mean much, too much of our server has already checked out for the round (I’d like to hope I’m wrong here, but I’m not sure I can even hope that). Sad, I really was looking forward to excited about the rematch against maguuma.

With a concerted community effort, probably.
30sec-1min where you are vulnerable to attack and another minute or two to reconnect after that would be perfectly reasonable imo
Why is this not fixed yet? Tired of dying to what I can’t see, oh also tired of my teleportation attempts being rubberbanded (both at gates and WPs)
I would like to second this.
Nice to see how Borlis Pass went from dead last in a landslide matchup last week to actually winning. And the whole kaineng rallying numbers to compete with them is cool too.
Would be nice to have a more official ranking history. Kinda curious how, instead of just pre – appending the current rankings in front of the old ranking, the old ranking was just overwritten. Started scratching my head at that decision about the time I looked to try to see how many places my server jumped up in the list after the rematch..
