i know that Signet of the hunt got changed from 10% swiftness to 25% however when the active buff is applied to the player it still reads 10%, its nothing major, may have been forgotten about. now i know its there it annoys me.

i was hoping for a clean match up, but i am sadly disappointed, all week i have been dealing with drama on SFR community website caused by Vizunah Square players. this is dirty play and we do not do it to you. this is something i really do not need

is this Vizunah Square’s tactic to stay in T1/top spot, cause as much drama on other server’s community/alliance websites so they give up?

only 2 Vizanuh Square players are being friendly on our community website. i am really disapointed by the mentality of Vizunah quare player because of this.

Apart from that we are really enjoying the matchup in game wise

the whole culling thing caused multiple issue’s of meny people. i just wish they would remove the culling rendering completely till they come up with something better that also works

currently with the way things are on SFR it would not be the right server for you, the reason why i say this is that we have long queue’s atm and half the WvW guild atm cannot get all their payers onto WvW and i am guessing the same will be for blacktide.

i cannot stop you from coming to SFR or going to BT and i am only being honest with you. we do have a stable core of guilds that have good teamplay and exelent communication.

maybe desolation could be best suited for you

actually i am glad that Elona Reach are now moaning about night capping, SFR had the same experience a few months back where we would loose because of night capping and one of the servers was Elona Reach that night capped us.

now the situation is reversed Elona Reach now know how SFR felt a few months back. now understand it because it was extreamely frustrating for us back then. we know how you feel and understand your frustrations with night capping.

@Scryar i am not saying for you to recruit from other german servers. also i am not going to tell you how to recruit either. thats something you have to figure out on your own along side your alliance/communities.

also Seafarer’s Rest Community does not really actively recruit. and as i stated our community attracts guilds to the server as well as try to take advantage of opportunities that arise.

back on topic, as GiveAlittleHug mentioned [FU] had some fun last night along with some randoms and other guilds with us while on BB BL. we won some fights as well lost some against both BB and ER.

I know the timezone of Poland mine is only an example, anyway are you sure to see us next week ? Better to wait Friday

with the current standings it is possible, its also possible we may not, it could be close on if we progress up to T1 or not, i think Thursday is when we will find out. i done several calculations and 7 out of 10 puts us in T1. if we don’t move up then its not a big deal but if we do it will be a joyous time for SFR as T1 is where we want to be

New Culling Trial (Ended)

this is a bad fix, band aid, whatever you want to call it. i have an extremely high powered PC and i am having issues seeing both enemy and allies most times. there is increased lag on skills and abilities too.


For anyone interested in what i mean by extreamely high powered PC, i built this PC a month ago and was built for 3D rendering as its primary use
CPU – 2xIntel Xeon X5690 3.47GHz O.C. to 4.5GHz [Benchmark]
GPU – 2x nVidea GTX 690
RAM – G.Skill 64GB Ripjaw Z DDR3 2133
HDD – 2x OCZ Vertex 3 120Gb SSD (Raid0) [GW2 installed on SSD] + 4x 2TB Seagate SATA III HDD
Audio – Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium
OS – Windows 8 RTM Professional – 64 Bit & Windows 7 Professional – 64 Bit

i am also noticing enemy disappearing even if not dead. for example, i start to kill a warrior 1v1 and then he disappears then a few seconds later i am taking damage from an invisible enemy.

please for the love of god COMPLETELY REMOVE this culling crap.

i think a lot of people would rather the extra drop in FPS or slight increase of lag, as in the way it was before than the mess arenanet has made the game into now. you are killing your own product here

i play the game with everything on high/ultra, after this update i have even tried everything on low/off and it has zero effect on the game at all and i have the same problems

i think a better fix would have the enemy all have the same gear look, i dont care what gear they are wearing i just want to see and kill them. by showing all enemy in, lets say invader’s gear (since thats what WvW gear is called) in thier team colors it should reduce the information required to load the players. having 200 people with all different gear looks = more information needed to be obtained and then needing to be rendered seperately. if, lets call it, “simple enemy character models” was done instead then you can have it preloaded into memory and this lowering the time needed to get information and render. i could be wrong but its just my guess.

you can have it that allies show thier own looks/colors but enemy use “simple enemy character models”

hey all

this post is mostly for Arenanet and to try get them to wise up to their player base.

someone in the Seafarer’s Rest Community made a survey about what guilds focus on when it comes to GW2. here is a summary of information that the survey provided:-

out of 258 survey’s from guilds across all servers
192 of the guilds do PvE
177 of the guilds do WvWvW
93 of the guilds do sPvP
14 of the guilds do RP
150 of the guilds are social

A large amount of guilds have a focus on World Vs World Vs World and there are also large alliances/communities that have developed since the beta of Guild Wars 2. Arenanet stated that sPvP is their flagship of the game but later stated that you did not think WvWvW would be so popular.

the main reason for this post is to try and get Arenanet to give WvWvW the updates it deserves. Here is some changes that i have in mind that i would like to see.

WvW Maps – i do not know the reasons behind having all borderlands looking exactly the same. this just allows boredom to set in, how about redesigning 2 of the borderlands to have a unique look/design and also introducing a 5th map in a similar style to Eternal Battlegrounds but bigger. By introducing a 5th map would also help with the server queue times.

Eternal Battlegrounds needs to have a rethink because 1 team has an more of an advantage where all thier forts/camps are close together (green team) while another team has more disadvantage where some of the forts/camps further apart (red team)

Rewards – currently some of the WvWvW players feel that defending a fort is, in a way, a waste of time mainly if the fort is not upgraded and feel that they should not defend it and just retake it after. the 3 mins cooldown on “repel enemy attackers” is too long and should at least be 1 min 30 seconds for towers/keeps/castles. this is just in my opinion.

Other reward should be introduced that can be purchased via Badges of Honor

Guild Rank System – a rank system like top 3 guilds per server that performed the best would be a nice little addition. this could be determined by
Defending – 5 pts per successful repel
Siege Usage – 1pts per siege weapon successfully built 0pts if destroyed before build completion
Capturing Objectives – 10 pts for keeps, 5 pts per tower, 1 pts per supply camp
Dolyak & Sentry – 1pts per dolyak kill, 1 point for capturing sentry

points should only be rewarded once, for example if a guild has 30 people defending and another guild has 5 people defending then both guilds will receive only 5 points per successful repel. same goes for all other points categories

a reward for this could be some influence to all the guilds that participate in WvW. amount of influence depends on their guild performance

Guild Upgrades – Guild Waypoint, cost 10,000 influence, lasts 6 hours, build time 1 week, only 1 can be built at a time, cannot speed up the upgrade. Can only be placed in WvW towers under your server control and cannot be used if the tower is being attacked and only available to the guild that places it.

Fixes – way points needs to be fixed so that they cannot be used when contested and between the “repel enemy attackers” dynamic events and while the fort is still under attack

Enemy Veteran Guards spawning in forts needs to be fixed and can cause way points to become contested even when not being attacked by enemy or Quaggans.

I apologize for the rather large post but i believe i say this on behalf of a large part of the Guild Wars 2 player base. World Vs World Vs World needs to have the same care and attention to it just like every other aspect of the game.

How do you think we can compete with this as a 1 timezone server?

the easy answer for this is you recruit to strengthen your numbers. however, i understand its hard for you as you are labeled as a german server which is something i think that needs stoped, all EU servers should be labled as EU but the damage has been done now.

anyways, just a little history lesson for you, there was a time where SFR could not beat ER because ER night capped us and is why we lost. i will agree we got our kitten kicked by arborstone when we where in T2 2 months ago, and we went all the way from 6th to 12th.

this made us sit down and sort out our community and we climbed the ladder again back into T2 and this time we done better and yes we would like to see T1 at some point.

Also why you have more population? Maybe because SFR is an international server?

because the Seafarer’s Rest Community sells the server and guilds that transfer to SFR do so because of our community

Lol, so why are we ticking 3 times more than you in a timeslot where no oversea guild is playing?

actually we have at least 2 US guilds transfer to SFR yesterday.

But well, that’s typical german behavior, giving up early. I want deso back!

as an admin of the Seafarer’s Rest Community please stop with these kind of comments we are trying to keep the Seafarer’s Rest Community a clean and respectful community. also respect other servers too

Who needs 40 US Prime-time players for WvW?

Guild has about 40-50 players on at night that are willing to hop out to WvW. Haven’t fully agreed on transferring yet, but hypothetically this is what we’re looking for.

-Tier that is competitive and doesn’t have crazy queues(don’t think queues exist anymore!)
-Guilds on the server that are WvW focused like us
-A good fun community without super elitist guilds that think they own the server.
-People on the server stand their ground more than they run. Fighting spirit!

We’re organized with good leadership and know how to WvW. We also have relaxed personalities and out there to have fun while playing competitively. We’re good at splitting up or sticking together depending on what the situation on the map calls for. We’re also not looking to transfer into an already super competitive matchup to turn it into a landslide if there were 40 more coordinated people in US Prime-time. So ideally I suppose it would be the bottom server in one of the middle tier matchups. I hope that made some sense.

Our main playtime is 8pm-12am EST. If you guys think your server would fit with us, let me know and we’ll scout it up!

Seaferer’s Rest is in Tier 2 and currently has no queue’s outside prime time. the way thigns are going atm we prob win and stay in Tier 2, currently we are having some really epic fights and all 3 sides are enjoying the match up

Annoying Sound Bug

ok here is a way for this bug not to crash your game, its simple just add the additional parameter nosound to your shortcut. i know the game is boring as hell with no sound but atleast you wont crash in WvW or whatever. also thats what music is for :P

1. right click your GW2 shortcut and click properties
2. in the target field at the end add “-nosound” without the quotes for example:-
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -nosound
3. click apply then ok
4. put some tunes on and play the game

i would rather not do this and actually hear the in game sounds etc but because of the crashing and being a commander in WvW i feel like i do not have a choice.

i am sure its down to the client playing way too meny sounds at once. imo i dont need to hear 100 sounds playing at once, maybe limit it to ~20.

this is most definetly a client issue coz i have tested 5 different sound cards. 6 if you include onboard, ranging from £15 to £1000 sound cards and same thing happens. professional audio sound cards can handle a kitten ton of sounds playing at once and same thing happens with them.

the quality slider does not work, i have tried and tested everything. but stopping the game from crashing, what i have explained will stop that and will stop that freaking sound

Siege limit is one area, not the whole map. De-spawning siege is required to stop night capping guilds capturing the whole map, upgrading and setting up siege for prime time users to use.

its map wide, it happened to SFR a couple weeks ago in EB, could not place a ram at durious, could not place a ram at bravost, could not place a ram at quentin, could not place a ram at wildcreek, anzalias or kloven.

we had like 150 siege in SM and 50 in overlook. i left the map coz i could not take anything except durious coz of trebs, at least overlook and SM was safe.

we haven fallen a bit in ranking due some problems in our organization and a few well organized guilds transferred to our enemy servers.
Desolation decided to take a break from Tier 1 / Blacktide.
Seafarer’s Rest is apparantly the next super EU-Server. We will see and test. =D

i find it funny that you call us the next EU super server, we did have a really big bad time after the last time he hit T2 about 5-6 weeks ago, since then the main SFR WvW community got together and worked out some stuff and come back strong well before the guilds that jump on the “win train” joined the server. Its the SFR community that worked very hard to get us where we are atm. just a shame we will get bombarded with “win train” guilds

tbh i dont know the guilds that are not active on our community or the “Win train” guilds that just joined the server friday. also we are just looking to have some good fights after last weeks matchup.

FU, VoTF and others had an epic time at garrison today where SFR took it when it was fully upgraded thanks to Wrench Crowbar and myself leading. Desolation failed many times to try take it. we will be looking forward to more of this

well just to clear something up for you. SFR WILL NEVER alliance with other servers, we play on our own and just want to play fairly. if it feels like your getting double teamed by Riverside and SFR, well we are not.

Hi

ok for a 2nd time in 2 days i have gotten annoyed but this time is with the additional parameters i use -nosound as the known audio bug causes my game to crash every time. please can you make this work again this is the only way i prevent the client crashing, the kitten audio bug causes me to crash like 5-6 times a day even when i am leading my guild and followers in WvW

the reason to go for any garrison/tower/keep is points, that should be enough reason to go for it. look at it this way, say your red team and you take a garrison from green team, green team looses 25 points and your team gains 25 points that gives a 50 point difference straight away from the team you took it from.

shouldnt this be enough reason to try take control of any objective?

Orb removals impact on choice of keeps and towers to attack.

Now that orbs are gone, I think servers will be more inclined to create or form alliances with each other against another server because they won’t be fighting over who gets to hold the orb anymore. It’s one less objective and one less thing to fight over.

Seafarer’s Rest will never accept a peace agreement. The german servers have a non-aggression pact already so if your not on a german server and you face 2 of them then they will double team you. like atm Riverside and Kodash will fight in same spots and kill SFR and then part ways after. this is another example of bad sportsmanship. or they will go to 1 server and get them in the lead and all transfer to another to get the other in 2nd place. might not see that happen now with the 7 day transfer cooldown, wish it was longer like 30 days instead.

SFR want to play fairly and as i said we will not accept to ally with another server so dont bother asking us.

as for the orbs, thank god they removed them, people qq’d to get the orbs changed and now there will be qqing that they have been removed. i am glad they removed it coz when outnumbered buff is on your team and face a server with 3 teams, you most likely loose the fight

people logging out during fights or downed id becoming more and more popular, i have seen it happen at least 15 times this week. and i bet is people on servers that have no queue times when they do it, its sad that it happens and very bad sportsmanship all for what? to save yourself like 2 silver? come on just take a sentry post or supply camp and you make that back. or is it to prevent your enemy getting loot?

i wanna hear the real reason why people log on downed but i guess i wont.

Ok why is the matchup rest time at like 1am UK time? since EU and US servers are seperate from each other why cant EU matchup reset during our prime time on friday instead? say between 5pm and 7pm UK time ?

this imo would make some fun battles when all 3 servers will have max players in all WvW maps.

i would like to see the EU matchup rest getting changed to friday prime time

Remember…more then 60fps is pointless…so save your card and enable adaptive vsync or use the in game vsync

The problem is simple and i know something bad was going to happen to kitten of the entire player base. the only thing i was wondering was when was it going to happen. now here is a quote from their own wiki

this is the root of the problem. Square Enix did this and boy that was such a bad idea. they lost millions because of an unplayable game. they have basically re-written most or the whole game engine and have a version 2.0

modifying something you have already in my opinion is always going to cause more problems than its really worth. taking GW1 and slapping a turbo on the graphic = bad

people think it all comes down to the PC spec. the only thing the PC spec is effecting is frame rate nothing else.

here is a comparison, i also own all the following systems:-

Dual Xeon oc to 4.5Ghz (9Ghz total), 2x nVidea GTX 690, 64Gb Ram, 6×120Hz monitors = average 160 FPS

Intel i7 oc to 4.1Ghz, 2xAMD Radeon 6990, 32Gb Ram, 6x 60Hz monitors = average 60 FPS

AMD Phenom II 3.4Ghz, AMD 6450, 8Gb Memory, 1x 60Hz Monitor = average 15 FPS

in all situation changing the graphics settings has no effect on FPS except maybe the rendering sampling on the lower end PCs. you can have the game looking like kitten but have the same performance as having pretty graphics.

now with this new issues its totally broken the game on all spec PC’s listed above as have been mentioned by everyone with the invisible enemy/npc’s this happens on all the listed systems above. it also feels like they are not doing proper tests before releasing a patch. they should roll back to before the recent patch asap before they fix the problem

Kodash/Seafarers rest/Desolation pvp

i am on SFR and in FUtiles and we spent the whole day on Kodash and yes they got quite an kitten kicking, how ever it was not easy. props to kodash they held out on cliffside for abotu 6 hours when whe took it and the rest of the map.

Desolation was also putting up a fight at the bay near when i logged off. was a really fun day on kodash and i really enjoyed it exept from this stoopid thing anet done that makes every player and npc invisible but it also provided some laughs like one of FU jumping in the middle of a zerg cos he was unable to see any player

SFR made about 12k points today total when i logged off. good job SFR and FU for taking all of kodash with the other randoms. Rise also helped out in the beginning of the day which saved SFR’s only tower.

and we almost had a 2nd waypoint built in the bay when desolation took it. good gaming everyone that was playing on kodash map, fun day/night.

litterly like 2 mins a go i tried to buy items of the trading post, the coin was taken from me and i never got the items, that happened twice in a row, i checked my pick up and nothing in there no items and no money, before you ask YES i did click buy and i got the messege “success”. i woke up in a happy mood and now i am kitten

to be honest, there is nothing wrong with the drops. i have 2 characters a ranger lvl 58 and a guardian lvl 80. my guardian is a dps build kinda and my ranger is and will be C.Dmg based and tbh my ranger nets more badges than my guardian and my guardian does higher damage and kills alot faster.

if you ask me, if your doing WvW to focus on badges only then yes you will be very diapointed. if you do it for fun/to take pard then the badges will come. the problem is that people want to be spoon fed everything and want everything now.

most coins i got in 1 day was 169 in ~500 kills, thank you Elona’s Reach for that 50 min hills boss room siege you failed to capture (18 people in hills boss room Vs constant 50+ enemy trying to take and failing).

lowest i have gotten in a day is 36

as for numbers 4728 kills and ~950 badges, used 500 for Gift of Battle, aprox 20% drop rate on badges is fair to me. i would not complain with 10%. the problem lies with everyone complaining is you want em and you want them yesterday. bad news it aint gonna happen.

i dont think getting drops is to do with damage/f-killing/speed killing/etc i think its just totally random.

get what your given and not what you want/expect. also you get rewarded for everything you do except destroying walls/gates

not a bad idea but not a good one, since you can get lots of badges from jumping puzzles you dont have to know anything about WvW/PvP to gain one thats the bad side to it. if it was to get done then it would have to be like 10,000 or something insane.

you can get about 100+ badges a day on average all depending how long you spend in WvW so overall would mean nothing. after a while you know who the good and bad commanders are. some got it as a fashion icon more than anything else

also if your join a squad you can chat in /squad

A fair solution to the jump puzzle problem.

they do, what happens is that the scores are put in an equation to calculate the ranking score then is added to the server’s ranking score. there was a post about it and they also gave the formula, however it was hard to follow at best, would need somone to work out a spreadsheet to make it more simplified

point 1 is just stupid

Point 2 is down to your server’s community

Point 3 is just an encourages people to PvE farm in WvW instead of actually taking part in the battles causing long queues when they bot afk till the next day, i see it happen all the time on the server i am on

your not exaggerating. one week, i think 2 weeks ago seafarer’s rest, the server i am on, had 100% of the map in our control, that was 1 day in 7, the following week we got our buts kicked, enjoy it while it lasts, get those PoI’s Vistas and Skill points you dont have while it lasts
