True … which is why i’m thinking I would be better served to use a different set of runes. Using Traveler would cost me 20 Toughness and 135 Vitality but i’m thinking with the improvement of the other stats, I can make most or all of this back by swapping out some zerker trinkets for something that will give me more vitality especially

what if it is a portal to your personal space? With the addition of new personal space (or “home”) items it would make sense… and be much more convenient

Just go to Cursed Shore and do events like Melandru and Gates of Arah. I have 277% mf and I get like 5 or more Kite Fortunes per event. They drop almost as often as piles of putrid essence.

Don’t mean to derail the thread.. but what are you using to get 277% MF? I’m thinking about creating a set just now sure what I need to aim for.

How often to Heavy Bags drop in WvW? I have never really tried WvW before but if they have a good drop rate I could get in with a zerg and see how it goes…

Holy kitten these things have been HARD to get (at least for me). I’ve been running around the maps for hours spending TONs on WP costs looking for Zephyr Sanctum Kite baskets and killing tons of mobs and I have maybe 30 Scraps to show for it….

HOW is everyone getting Fortune Scraps?!!? I really wanted at least 1 back piece and 1 helm but at this rate odds aren’t looking good

Also, I have read these will also show up in Loot bags but the prices for all of them are crazy and I don’t have that kind of Gold.

I have been playing this game since launch and currently only have a lvl 80 Ranger. I am half-way to getting my Guardian to lvl 80 which I think I will be using mainly in WvW.

I have never played WvW before but I wanted to try something new. So once I get my Guardian to lvl 80 what should I start doing in WvW?

I was told it was 1 charged crystal per day per point of power.

I will be testing this, but I don’t think it works that way.

Yes, I believe it was in the Patch notes (or at least listed in Dulfy’s guide) that you can only make 1 charged crystal per DAY, regardless of the Point of Power.

Keep the crystals in an invisible pack if you have one. You only need to keep 1 stack on you and they will never be automatically deposited

oh OK thanks for the heads up! I hadn’t really even been killing any mobs since I’ve just been exploring the new area and what not. I’ll have to get out and give it a try later today see how the drop rates are.

wow only 17 scraps… I was hoping to get at least 1 headpiece and 1 backpiece, so 400 scraps :s … this could take awhile

the numbers in brackets I.E (50x) are the number of that item you need to exchange for a Zephyr Box. The first number then would be the total cost of that purchase.

So right now you see…

2200 -> Mithril Ore (50x)

You need to purchase 50 Mithril Ore for 1 Zephyr Box and that is going to cost you 2200 copper. So right now the cheapest you can get Mithril Ore for is 44copper each

Do these baskets (that are scattered all across the open world) spawn in the same location all the time? Or do they have random spawn points across all maps?

Having the EXACT same issues this morning. Every time I try to use WayPoints I get the 5:11:3:159:101 error.

I was also getting the 21:6:3:2198 error however I fixed that by removing the “Save Password” option and typing it in myself. I’ve never had that issue before (and been playing since Launch).

I don’t think he’s going for the Helmet and Backpiece … all the items he has can be traded in for Zephyr Sanctum Supply Boxes which only contain Quartz crystals and (1) Celestial recipe.

So my guess is he wants a full celestial set.

Yes, that is true. You do not get the bonus chest with the guaranteed rare unless you are at least level 40. If you have another character that is > 40 you can still do the event again today before reset for the bonus chest.

Talk to your class trainer in any city (the one you bought the manuals from to unlock trait levels). They’ll have the option to reset your traits. I think it’s something like 3.5s to retrait.

So you don’t buy a manual to reset traits, you just talk to the trainer.

I completed the Maw Meta event last night (got the chest) however I DID NOT receive the Bonus Chest. I have not done this event for weeks so the daily limit was not the issue.

Someone in Map Chat stated that the Bonus chest would only be awarded if you are lvl 40+. I have never heard this before. Any anyone Confirm/Deny that? The character I was using is currently lvl 37…

This morning I completed Wayfayer Foothills 100% (I got the achievement for it) however I did not receive any reward. No chest popped up in the bottom corner or anything?

This happen to anyone else?

The more posts I read on here the more people talk about a Power build being good with Kinghts armour (instead of Soldier). Is this true? If I went all Knight armour I would then make all (or most) of my ‘trinkets’ Soldier… I think.

I will probably only be able to ever afford one full set of exotics and eventually a full send of ascended trinkets so I need to make sure what I chose to go with is optimal

Updated the build again … went back on my character last night and realized that when I left off I was building towards a full Soldier armour set and then having a good mix of Soldier/Knight trinkets. I was also always using at least a Master Maintenance Oil which I put in the build as well.

I am about to start putting my armour sets together and I am wondering which Medium Female Cultural Armours glow and which pieces exactly (I have a Sylvari Ranger)?

Also, can you change the colour of the glow? (for example, if my armour is Red can the glow be white?)

I don’t remember creating my character so this may be a noob question … can you change the colour of the Glow when creating a character? I am buying a remake kit and hopefully I can change the glow colour and intensity.

thanks for the reply! Now that you mentioned it I went back to my build and I did have exactly what you stated, 0/0/30/10/30 and using Natural Healing.

I hadn’t thought that the 30h/s was terribly low but you do make a good point… I updated my build with the Runes of the Ranger and obviously did see a drop in Toughness.. not sure how much it’ll affect my survivability. I do like the increase in Crit Chance and Damage so I will definitely consider going with the Runes of the Ranger (I have not fully added Runes to all my gear yet so I won’t need to buy an entire new set).

I am now back to the game and I am wondering if this build is still viable/effective for mainly PVE. I would like to get back into running dungeons and Fractals regularly however I would also like to try out all the new WvW changes, so I will probably be doing that as well.

I have recently started a Guardian as my first alt and I am working towards collecting what I need for my lvl 80 gear. My ideal build for this Guardian will be 0/15/30/20/5 (AH build) using GS/Staff. I play mainly PvE – Dungeons, FoTM and will eventually get into WvW (I doubt I’ll get into sPvP at all) so I am wondering what will be the best ‘gear set’ for me… Full Knight or Full Soldier. Which ever I choose for my gear I will choose the opposite for all accessories (they just added ‘Knight’ ascended accessories) and both of my weps will be Berserker.

Any advice would be great!

So I have been playing a Ranger since launch and up until last night I was never asked to stow my pet… my initial response was"how"?? One of the Rangers in my group told me to click the button (looks like an arrow) close to my Pet pic. I know it was the right button because when I hovered over it it said “stow pet” however when I clicked it nothing happened. Are there rules regarding when I can stow a pet? i.e. I was in combat, am I not allowed to stow my pet then? what if my pet is dead, can I stow? And will my pet automatically un-stow once I enter combat?
