I thought I might get responses like this Surprised nobody spoke of every build has its counter build. I’ve played mesmer for so long now and tried so many variations that I thought I would ask the community. I remember back before wvw went 80% heavies with superior condi cleanse. The blackwater build wrecked people. I’m running my own build currently and still switch weekly it seems. I’m mainly hybrid now but always looking for that edge.

A build that can win against 2 elite players? All the vids i see where people win 1vx battles are against total newbs without stacks or 1v1 s where another enemy trickles in after the first is down.

Anet, when will you be merging our WVW ranks so that all our toons are the same rank?

This question was asked me tonight. My guild was assaulting SF bay tonight when EVERYBODY started having skill lag and losing connection. It wasn’t just on our map. We had a call in from Kain border as well to save golems that were approaching hills because the drivers lost conn. People were mentioning the same thing in Lions Arch. So what is happening I ask and what can be done? As a paying customer I would like this frustration to go away.

3. Thief

Error code=7:11:3:191:101
10 second lag spikes followed by a disconnect with the error code. Happens every 10 to 20 minutes during game play. Sometimes I get reloaded easily sometimes it gives me a black screen. Any word on resolving this?

1.) server wvw population control.
2.)If no popululation control then make outmanned give a real bonus like 300 points to every stat. That way it’s easier to take on 1vx when outmanned.
3.)make wvw ascended ear trinkets cheaper. Why 40 laurels and 50 globs? Make them on par with rings and neck piece.
4.) Arrow carts should not be able to shoot into tunnels. How can arrows possibly penetrate through stone?
5.)Be able to use badges plus gold for sigils and runes.

Had fun at fight night Thursday. Had FC to myself for quite a while, mostly Yarr. After about 2 or 3 map hopping shout out sessions we got some OHAI and OS from Devonas to join in. Not sure what happened to Dark Haven, I’m sure yall got to have a few good fighters over there, wassup yall? Represent foos!

The trait that refreshes Phantasms 20% faster does not work in wvw. I tried casting the phantasm from focus with and without the trait. Cool down times were the same. I then tried casting Phantasmal defender with and without the trait. I witnessed the same results. Illusionists celerity does lower cool down time however.

Well, first, I just want to point out that it is obviously not the same group as the picture I posted included me, a thief, and two warriors. Second, you can see a dead player and enemy players in the background of the screenshot. So, in your attempt to conflate the two incidents, it is evident that you are just merely making an attempt to trash our players for whatever reason. It’s really not very sportsman like. We didn’t post anything to impress you. We just had a good night and wanted to share how we liked the matchup and had fun.

If you can more you can duo sm lord. I’ve duoed bay and hills multiple times, both undefended and equally defended (two enemies showed up to defend).

If you know what you are doing, and the other enemies don’t k ow what you are doing, then its a cake walk.

It’s actually pretty funny that you post this. From reading your first post, I wasn’t exactly sure as to why you would be so rude for no reason, and now it makes sense. The fact that you had to make sure to include that you have duo’d keeps is very telling. I posted something positive, complimenting both FC and DH for their performance and shared a little bit of [OHai]‘s success and your immediate response is, "I am not impressed. I’ve done that in keeps. Blah, blah, blah." Well, frankly, we do not engage in chest thumping, “we’re the best players ever” antics like that. We play for fun, and it is unfortunate that you are trying to make a positive post into some negative forum warrior competition. It’s sad seeing as how other DH players have been nothing but respectful.

On a lighter note, I anticipate more good fight tonight from all. >:)

was fighting a couple engineers just now and one did such a move. Was in front of me then with lightning speed ran around my body like i’ve seen thieves do sometimes.

I’ve never encountered anything like it. It was the perfect counter to my condi buld. This warrior from HOD DX guild tanked me and my uptick buddy plus minotaurs until more of his guild showed up.

Yo so I met a warrior from DX guild and I just don’t know how to explain this build so I recorded it. My condis just fell off this guy without doing any real damage. he tanked me and an uplevel warrior plus Minotaurs till his guild showed up.

I have never had trouble killing warriors and have seen some real tanks before but this guys build was the perfect counter to my build and like god mode.

I actually started out using GS Staff. Depends on the type of battles your looking for. If yer a little zergling and don’t handle your controls well and wanna hang in back sure go for it. Go high power 100 plus crit damage drop your feed back bubble on enemy zerg and send in your Izerker. I used The Damage increase on mantras as well so I hit for very high numbers. Although Staff applies conditions it really shines as a high power high crit weapon. It’s phantasm can hit for 8k.

These 2 Asurans had the drop on me from behind. They were a coordinated team. I had another good 1vx earlier and may upload as well. Started as a 1v3 but more enemy joined. So i ended up running off and turning around hoping to pick some off. The SUN guild from SF was very determined to play with me so I made them my friends. Good fight yall. Lovin the blackwater build. Only way I’ve been able to solo roam with any real success.

What do yall think about bringing some PVE content to wvw?
I would like to see each of the Dragons have the ability to spawn randomly throughout the land. The Dragons will only Spawn on point objectives. These dragon spawns are such a wild card. Say you own SM and have it fully siege’d up and your being successful defending against both armies until Shatterer spawns and wipes our outer and inner plus destroys part of your supply. Total chaos but a whole lot of added excitment. A dragon could spawn on someones supply depot completely wiping out much needed supplies. Give the dragons time limits like in a PVE world instance. Maybe 10 to 15 minutes. Multiple dragons spawning could be an option. Boon or bane it would add quite a bit of excitement.

I disagree with this. The aegis alone has kept me alive through more fights than I ca count. PU is the bomb when dealing with thieves or multiple targets as i prefer to fight. I get little from the regen ticks as I have 0 healing. Once upon I time I did drop my 20 from power into the healing trait line. Which from what I saw I gained double ticks of regen. one from my phantasms and one from the PU generated regen. It helped a little when fighting through conditions. Also the ability to get the scepter cooldown and 200 condi was nice. I just never stayed with the build. I may however revisit it and use the givers weapons since the 200 condi on trait should closely even out the loss of the condi from givers weapons.

That doesn’t matter if you can’t kill them. They can just casually stroll away and you’re helpless to do anything to prevent it. Confusion ONLY works if you have additional pressure that forces them to take actions.

As much as I would love for this to be wrong, Pyro is completely correct.
I engaged a necro today in wvw and he just ran away from me. Condi builds pretty much rely on the enemy going into the fight with you, killing your clones and whatnot. So if they don’t wanna fight, they can just run… and you really can’t put all that much pressure on them.
You can get lucky and catch them with a pistol stun and immobilize from sword and hope the duelist will take his toll on the enemy. But for the most part, they can just run and the phantasms will be out of range.

I agree with this statement. It has been one of the most frustrating parts of the build. What to sacrifice for stuns. I usually use signet of dom for the nice 1200 range 3 second stun but a lot of times I miss. When messing with this build I tried ditching staff for sword/ pistol plus sig of dom but it doesn’t have good synergy because in a confusion build you WANT your enemy active. With that said I tried to only use those skills when the person was about to heal. I also tried dropping torch for pistol so i had staff immobilize, pistol stun, sig stun. Again. same issue. the confusion stacks go to waste. I also tried sword/pistol staff and sig of dom. A lot of control for single target combat but poor for confusion users. I would like to know what the best setup for max bleed stacks are.

I didn’t know of a fight night either until just a few mins ago when i saw the post. Would of liked to fight some of the opposition in a little more balanced terms to see if there was any talent out there =P

Man I feel so bad. Here I tried to remind folk prior to Thursday about fight club and I myself spaced it off watching season 3 of Walking Dead on Netflix

I also tried going 20 deep in the power trait line for the condi duration and also using givers weapons supplementing the low condition with the sigil that provides 180 condi and a stun of 3 seconds. My bleeds only ticked for 98 to 112 vs the 140 I was getting. I wish I can find a way to give 25 stacks of bleeds and 25 stacks of confusion at the same time. We are suppose to be masters of confusion and yet I have had both warriors and thieves tell me they can stack 25 confusion and thieves can stack 25 bleeds.

I’ve tried dropping the power trait line( by the way putting condition duration on the power triat line is wrong anet) going with 0 25 30 5 10 so you get confusion on clone pop and retal on phant hit traiting 33% confusion. With perplexity I was able to stack a max of 18 stacks of confusion but I found the other condis lacked the duration and would drop off to fast to create the high stack I desired. Often a player would fall back only to cleanse. So instead I tried using givers weapons which in turn lowered my condi damage but I found that having perplexity runes plus 33% condi trait plus givers plus 40 condi duration on food was a waste because you can only stack 100% duration on confusion. The goal I was seeking was the ability to stack not only confusion with high stacks but give high stacks of bleeds which in turn is greatly beneficial to the 5 stacks of torment we give with scepter. Ultimate goal is to apply high bleeds and confusion stacks, apply burning and poison, self retal and phant retal ending with that torment. This basically melts a person. I keep messing with the build because I can’t seem to get it just right for all situations. I even tried using a sigil of earth for bleeds on crit. I dropped the confusion on death trait because it only gives 1 stack. also dropped sigil of earth because it’s only 1 stack per 2 seconds. staff and scepter hit so slow.

What do you think about getting bountiful interruptions? Since you changed to rune of perplexity, interrupting can now give you +175 condition damage on top of the 5 stacks of confusion.

I have tried the BI trait. During camp flips and multiple engagements it was nice to see 15 might stacked but I noticed not having the staff traited once I blew my cool downs. Using staff blink to flee an engagement is nice too. So when that doesn’t refresh as fast you’ll notice. I keep trying to swap out torch with pistol though. Bleeds stack faster but then again durng multiple engagements its not as effective.
