If it were instanced, people like me (Sylvari under the employment of Scarlet Briar ; ) would ignore the event rather than sabotaging it. I’ve spent the past 5 days destroying golems and using up repair hammers so that the group would fail the event. I have been successful in every single attempt to foil the raid.

But it’s not instanced. So I can go there and do whatever I please to the detriment of all those who may be participating. If it were instanced, the party leaders would have far greater control over who is allowed into the event. Their chances at success would be greatly improved.

So you’re admitting to griefing, and are quite proud of it.

Since the Wurm is considerably harder than Teq, is the loot at least even with Teq loot?

If so, for any ANet devs that will read this, why was the decision made for the loot to not be as good as Teq?

I’m pretty sure it’s a bug based on what some people in TS are saying. Somehow they can monitor the HP. PLEASE take a look at this ANet, the scaling is all over the place based on their claims, and honestly when running it what they’re saying goes exactly with the damage. It seems to random at times.

Please, ANet. Just please. T_T I’m so sleepy. So tired of waiting around 2 hours only for it to bug.

EDIT: And to clarify it didn’t make us lose. But it forced us to have to switch overflows and it’s an EXTREMELY time consuming and stressful process to keep having to do! Great runs get people lost from them during OF switch, people DC, etc.

Excited about this release and enjoyed the single player story mode entrance into the zone, however there was some serious mouth sync issues and even in parts I think the NPC mouths weren’t even scripted to move at all? Disappointing. Doubt this will be fixed, but hoping it can be looked into and not overlooked for future releases.

OP you must have the deduction ability of a toddler if you couldn’t figure out after a few minutes that it was a flashback and the voice was narrating.

Because nothing is new, in fact, it’s the same content but made WORSE.

A lot of the rewards were nerfed so they’re not worth doing. Lab was made more annoying with less rewards.

Reapers Rumble just… vanished.

The new thing : a 2 minute little rushed story instance thing. “Oh hey there’s this prince guy.. Ok he’s dead put him back in, the end”

This is incredibly lazy. Anet is basically skipping an entire update piggy backing off of last years content with virtually nothing new, and then even nerfed what we had last year.

On top of the insane weapon skin grind….. and you wonder why people are hating on it.

If they were to continue with LW nonsense during this it would’ve been fine… but they’re just using rehashed (and nerfed) holiday content to replace a whole LW update, that’s just lazy.

This happened to me again last night.

I had 2 maps not update for me earlier in the day. That night, I played the Timberline Falls invasion and it actually gave me credit.

Afterward, the Mount Maelstrom invasion happened and I went there, and I didn’t get credit for doing it (the achievement progression) when we beat it.

I had thought the problem may be from switching overflows or to the main map after going to the invasion map (aka trying to join friends), but I didn’t do that at Maelstrom or the one earlier in the day.

I’m also having the same problem as the OP. I know for sure which invasion maps I’ve done because I’ve been keeping a written log of all the ones I’ve done in order to keep myself organized for the achievement.

I just did a map I hadn’t done already (Tim Falls) and it did not update the achievement.

Not only is Invasion Canceler not getting updated, but Worldwide Invasion Responder is also not being progressed.

And Mormegil, you’re not a member of ANet’s staff nor a tech support guy. So please quit trying to tell us that everything is okay just because it’s fine for you, you’re helping nobody and just frustrating those of us affilicted with the bug.

Players were exploiting it by deleting and remaking characters, so we made it based on your entire account.

Edit:
Due to the reward being so high, and the upscaling for the living world, this was seen as being bad.

Since you guys don’t feel the need to include these kinds of changes in your patch notes (why?), can you please offer some more clarification?

Is this a daily kind of thing (can be completed once daily) like the other meta events , such as the Claw and Shatterer, or is this purely a one time thing per account?

I am honestly surprised that there is still some confusion about this upcoming change. So let me try to clarify it once more:

Current:
- You get one guaranteed rare (or better) per event per day per character from the event chest. Everything else in the event chest is based on normal drop chance, so there is a chance to get rares (or better) as well.
After the change:
- You get one guaranteed rare (or better) per event per day per account from an extra chest that will be displayed like the chest for the dailies. Everything else in the event chest is based on normal drop chance, so there is a chance to get rares (or better) as well.

My confusion stemmed on the wording about the new chest appearing like the daily. It kind of made it seem like that you got the chest in the same way you’d get a daily chest, by completing prerequisite tasks. In the context of the dragon/meta events, it kind of seemed like you’d get the guaranteed rare chest AFTER doing all the dragon/meta events for the day.

Thanks for clearing it up. I like this change now.

This has been pretty confusing between Martin’s post and the original dev post.

So let me get this straight … if I only have one level 80, nothing will change for me, right?

I can still do all of the major dragon events and other high level chest events (on the dragon timer pages), and still be guaranteed a rare drop in EACH of those chests, correct? The only change is that you can’t log into another character and get those chests again, CORRECT?

I predicted ecto drop rates would get nerfed a few days after the patch went live. The main reason being that no one in their right mind would buy any BLSKits with ecto prices as low as they are lately. I applaude this move by Anet. Besides I allready have more than 500 ectos in stock. Bought them at rock bottom prices.

Arenanet adds in guesting for players loyal to their servers who want to still play with their friends. Player abuse the system by farming bosses and create huge overflow problems across servers. Players QQ about guesting problems.

Arenanet seeks to solve above problem by changing the loot system so that players can only be garunteed 1 rare a day, giving players no reason to farm and thus, reducing overflow problems. Players stop QQing about guesting, and start QQing about loot drop nerfs.

This is why I refuse to work in Customer Service. There is no pleasing you people!!!

There’s no pleasing “you people” because ANet is inept. Instead of just preventing chests from guesting, which is the most sensible way to prevent the “guesting issue”, they nerf the drops themselves.

ANet went around championing this game as having no grind, yet all they do is make the game MORE grindy. It makes no sense.

Thanks ANet. I needed to have some more free time for other games, school work, etc. Now that you’ve ONCE AGAIN nerfed ways to actually make money (thereby increasing grind if you want any more), this just gives me a great reason to put the game down once I’m down doing my dailiers.

We know that this is a topic that’s going to be heavily discussed, and we definitely want as much of your feedback as possible, both positive and negative (so long as it remains constructive and within the guidelines of the rules of conduct). However I would just like to point out that this:

“…fact that it’s the highest concurrence time…”

is contradictory to this:

“why not choose a time where there’s a higher chance for people to choose to attend?”

The reason we chose the times that we did, when concurrency is at its peak, is precisely because it offers us the highest chance for the largest number of people to attend. By definition though, because concurrency rises and falls, that means it’s impossible for us to choose a time that offers us a chance for everyone to attend.

Offering events like this at multiple times for different time zones is certainly worth considering, but given our team’s goals and the timeline we had to operate in (we fielded our team immediately after shipping the Live game), it just wasn’t feasible for us to consider such an option for this particular event.

Having said that, this decision is something that we realized would not make everyone happy. Keep in mind that there is a tremendous lineup of content to choose from during the weekend and after, with both the island and the Fractals dungeon remaining active, and we will continue to listen to both criticisms and compliments about these special events in order to continually improve your playing experience.

I honestly can’t fathom how that sort of pacing is a good idea – if someone is busy for that weekend they’re left out of everything.

Why not have each phase go last 48 hours instead? If someone is busy all weekend then they only miss out on one phase as opposed to the entire freakin’ event. It’s not like a slightly slower pace is going to throw things off that much, and it’d only help more people participate.

I only ask because this is supposed to be the day a one-time event happens for this holiday, and I have to work that day until 4pm.

Is there any possible way this could happen more than one time? Like perhaps throughout the day?

Seems mighty unfair to – if that’s what the achievement is for – tie an achievement to something like that and lock out a good number of people from getting it through no fault of their own.

Okay, so it’s already been said that craftable Mystery Tonics are workable in the new Mad King Chest recipe.

Considering the fact that these tonics are account bound, thus non-tradable, how is this fair to people that chose fields other than Artificer to level up? Essentially you’re creating an unfair advantage for people that leveled it up.

Is there any possible way we could also patch in a way to use 6 of other professions’ craftable item of equal value?

Either that, or make the craftable ones unusuable …

Arena Net has already set a precedence via the Karma exploiting that if you do something that’s clearly a “work around” to the way things are supposed to work, that you’ll get punished.

They should have just waited a day or two and started banning people for doing it for the remainder of the holiday event.

But instead they ruin it for everyone … c’mon.

As you can see the person in the screenshot is actually doing heart events while an event is happening at the same location (its at one of the norn areas, cant remember the name) and has somehow hit the DR system even though he doesnt look to be farming events.

…And you deduce all that form a single screenshot?

If that is indeed the case, then it sounds like a bug. A particular chain/even in the Norn area does seem to do that according to some.

I’m interested in why you’re so behind this DR system as it’s currently implemented.

In a game where farming, outside of PvP, is the end-game, how is the implementation that discourages farming a good thing?

Only Arena Net would create a game where the end game is largely about farming (materials for legendary weapons, karma for sets, tokens for dungeon armor), and then go and create a roadblock to prevent people from farming.

How does this make any sense at all? How can they sit there and think that’s a good idea?

What an awful implementation (or rather subtraction) to the game. You all need to remove the DR as it is now, as it just encourages players to play less. If people enjoy farming, let them farm, what’s so hard about that?
