Lol? anything big? Just count solo wins, team wins and reward with appropirate ammount of rank. It depends only of player if its big or not, if u won much it is, if u casualy, its not.

It would be cool if we could right click someones name and request a duel which then only you two would become hostile towards each other. Or just make a dueling arena that you can queue for in general and add a ladder for it. Either way is fine with me. I like the ladder dueling arena idea but the request a duel would be good enough. Implement please.
This a really good idé and will basicly eliminate the wrong difference between skyhammer farmers and give something to the ppl thats been doing tournaments instead of farming hot join last year. Wich is what this game should be about,

The ONLY progression and something to work for that we have in pvp is rank and now it will go away so I cant find any good reason to play pvp before the coming updates cause we will all get reset. Mayby to get glory, no wait thats also getting removed but I can always farm to buy character levels wich I really dont need cause I play pvp. But wait a minute, I can work towards getting good placement in current leaderboards but they will also reset soon and dont get me any reward so its pointless.
Basicly the only thing we have is rank, and I agree its pretty much useless and dont say much. But now we have absolutly nothing before propably 2-3 months or something when the other updates arrive. What should I work towards? Rank 60, wich will take me about 1000 hours or more for just a finisher? Forget about it.
I guess I will go and do some jumping puzzles while I wait, or not.
I would remake it. Reward ppl with rank points ONLY for win in tournaments. Hot joins are good for casuals, they r fun but got nothing in common with competitive play. Yes, I would decrease everybody’s rank. I know, ppl would loose their finishers. But rank would be a measurment of tournament wins (read GW1). I’m ok with the fact ranking up for phoenix would take me 2-3 more years. But it would be a phoenix consisting only from wins. And that would be gr8. Coz now ppl say rank means nothing, rank farmed and other bullkitten. It would eliminate it. When a guy scored a dragon rank in GW1 after years, every1 was like: wow, dat guy won MUCH, he is good for sure.
Also, rollback skyhammer farmers.

I would do a change with current rank system. Rank should be a measurment of tournament wins to actually say something about if you are good or not. So calculate how many wins every player have in solo and team que and set a proper rank amount for every win and do a rollback. Hot join is for casual play and test out builds and should NOT give rank but could count towards some titles.
Do it like this and realise that it should have been like this from the beginning.
A lot of people are misunderstanding what is happening. People who have earned their rank emotes and finishers will get to keep them as they are.
If I understand what people are saying, and I may be wrong, many people are treating ranks as more of a lifetime achievement. That is certainly something to consider in regards to the future reward system replacing them.
Yes. Basicly I have been playing PvP since launch and now when you remove ranks I have nothing to show for and would actually been MUCH better off if I’ve been playing WvW och PvE only. Cause its like everyone getting a “reset”.
If rank is removed you need to give heavy recognition to players for their time. Because besides having fun we have helped PvP community to grow and we basicly have nothing to show for later on after 16 months?
I feel like people are going to continuously complain over and over about thieves until they die if you look at them funny, stealth lasts half a second, and they tickle you instead of damage. They’re actually not that strong if you know how to play against them (Try hitting blocks or something like aegis when they go into stealth, because 3 seconds is not a long time) and I personally think the playstyle of thieves is extremely good for the game – high risk high reward, forced to run glass, no silly passive bunker kitten.

Thiefs are NOT overpowered as we speak. Its very high risk with less reward with all those bunker builds floating around on warriors, necs and rangers. Thiefs needs need some love or better ranged options otherwise they will stop getting playd even in hot-join, in high end tpvp they been away for months.
Would be so great and lead to more e-fame for good players and faster learning curve for new players cause they can spectate players who actually do real tpvp setup and not hot join where players dont care.
Dont give me reasons like their builds are to importent to be leaked, or persons can spectate and give information to opposite team during a match. Good players knows everything thats going on during a match anyway and it wont spoil a win or loss. Also, this would give a boost to the whole pvp community because players my spectate even if they dont play high end tpvp themselfs and get interest. Please let us actually use the functions we currently have.
Honestly, it feels like going into a homepage when it says “Copyright 2007” when its almost 2014. This is outdated and not used anymore, why you still have this information there?
Things like this just confuse new players cause they dont understand what it is and are unable to do anything with it.
Please remove Qualifying Points in PvP tab next update if you do not intend to use this information, you should never keep outdated functions wich are not in the work anymore.

Totally agree. I have worked hard for getting to around r48 in 1 year. And now noobs getting it in 2-3 weeks. It was the ONLY thing pvp:ers had to feel some sort of accomplishment. Its so kittening sad how this is not taken care of directly, and now it should be reverted. Its to late to “make changes” .. The damage is already done!
He always go afk when he dont have a team that can carry him. Its not like he is able to carry others anyways. XSuperX has been carrying him at least 100 of his games.
Like someone else said, stop “raging like a fat child” and try to win.
Bad matchmaking is not an excuse, its the same for everyone and we also know it when we decide to solo-q.
How exactly are people rewarded? A meaningless rank that’s realistically worth nothing. This is more of a problem with leaderboard decay than it is anything else.

I think its a good ide with leaderboard resets every three months, and believe that would result in more activity and growt of the pvp playerbase. Cause I think we can agree on its a bit to smal when we meet same twenty players during a three hour playing session. Its a basicly a large number that are ranked but a few players that are active because they are affraid to loose their current position on leaderboard.
In all honestly why dont we have different seasons where we reset the solo and team leaderboards, much like Starcraft do every two months. It doesnt even need to be a full reset, you can keep some hidden ranking regarding to your last position to not loose all your hard work.
So why do this?
Well, today we see players that play less games get more rewarded. Isn’t that a bit off track where it supposed to be? The more activity and matches play’d the more you should be able to proffit. Anyways, it would make players drop their ego and be a bit more relaxed to loose some matches cause they know its not indefinite. Basicly make the pvp community grow and get more activity ..
My vote go for reset Solo and Team leaderboard every 3 months, and those players thats been top 1000 get a reward, top 500 get a better reward and top 100 get even better reward. This way we have a reason to work towards better placement in the leaderboard and the same time let players go of their ego with playing more and not sit on their rank with 11 matches playd.
Basically GW2 IS an awesome game. It’s just that PvP is totally unfinished. Like 80% is missing. And devs think it is fine. And we need only 10-20% more.
i don’t want to be the next who points again at gw1, but i absolutely cannot understand why arena-net dropped everything they already developed on their own.
they already had everything they needed, and to me it seems like they didn’t transfer it to gw2 because of the self-assumed e-sports pressure.
and here i’m talking about things like observer/spectator which is acutally a joke compared to the gw1 version, saveable skill- and gear-templates, a completely customisable UI, possibility to get a pvp-only version of the game, diversity in gamemodes, international pvp.
i’d love to hear a statement about the reason why nothing of those things found their way into gw2 – tbh i expected those to be implemented as i bought gw2 because i came from gw1 and i knew it was from arenanet.

Sad to see that GW1 is still better in every PvP aspect then GW2 is now. Really, imagine the better graphic engine GW2 has with GvG mode like in GW1. Amazing and e-sport would really be real. Not a pipe-dream like now.

Honestly, cant understand the hype about rangers atm, never have problem killing them in paids. Engineer is so underestimated, cause ppl cant play them but when you meet at good one they are crazy. And seriously Anet, do some kittening nerf to eles already!

From a decision making stand point, i dont know why you made the rank stomps a consumable token.
I know there’s lots of things on your plate, but in order to improve on the system I’d recommend something where it automatically tiger stomps when you’re tiger rank and there would be a toggle where you can turn it on and off in the options.
Then the only the holiday/event consumables would be available.
With this change everyone would know what rank bracket the person who’s stomping them is. We dont need rank 50+ running around with rabbit finishers imo. Also, we wouldn’t have to keep using these consumables if we were bothered enough to show our rank in hotjoins/wvw.

When you put this much time ranking up in PvP you want to show off. It just should be a permanent option. And you should not be able to use “finishers” that are lower ranked then you actual are to confuse ppl.
A option to buy a permanent “finisher” that adjust with your rank all the time for lets say 200 000 glory or something is an option.
But best option would be to just have it as a option to put this “on” and “off” thru panel.
Stupid that we need to pay for something like this. It should just be there to encourage ppl to keep ranking up.
Will there ever be possbility of being able to change the account name/forum name? Like how it says <insert name>.#### I know this is of different means but thought i’d ask anyway.
