Just use a stun break+immunity or stun break+teleport to avoid further damage and break the basi. You will live and prob kill the thief. He can only do it once every 45s.

so i try the thief 25/30/0/0/15 and i do 11.7 k dmg from backstab..and the critical dmg is maximazed..we need only +mights stack (i use 2 signet before atk, maybe i must use also the heal signet before)

i’ve taken an image of that dmg..xD but yes we absolutely need mights stacks for do that dmg as well..also the 15 in shadow arts is needed, for the use of BS after C&D at full powa..and the rune must be scholar i think..the combination of powa+cd+10% dmg is very well..
and i think in the 25/30/0/0/15 that executioner is the best (+20% dmg under 50% lf) because we already have a cc very high..

Use 6 scholar runes for another 10% bonus damage.

And to get the highest raw backstab number, you need to have 7 initiative or more when it lands. When you do the combo in this order “BV+AS+C&D+steal+BS”, with only 10 points in trickery you only have 6 initiative left so you are missing on 10% bonus damage. You can increase BS damage a lot by using AS after C&D lands and before you BS. Or you replace your 30/30/0/0/10 build with a 25/30/0/0/15 to get 3 extra initiative max and you can keep your current “skill rotation”.

yep i try to use 25/30/0/0/15 and take more initiative 4 the 10% more dmg..but that not change 7 to 13.6 k..xD i’ll try also the scholar rune and see what happen..

rune i have tried both eagle and divinity (not change the dmg a lot) SS of accuracy+SS of air..
might stacks i don t remember..usually i don’t care about that..here was the problem?

I was playing my mesmer when a thief do repetealy 13.6 k of dmg from backstab in pvp (with classic combo)
the only thing i think is: how can u do such dmg? i also have a thief that i use in pvp 4 fun, but with my full glass cannon build i can only do maybe 7k of dmg from backstab..
any suggestion?
(ps i use the classic 30/30/0/0/10 build+classic combo BV+AS+C&D+steal+BS)
i use anything wrong?

i want to say to that UW guardian in EB that cowardy is not a great things..;) i downed u a lot of time and only zerg save u..especially when u jump down from the keep, attack me from the rear, i burst u and u have only 10% of life and re-enter immediately in Overlook running as the wind, or have battle with your ranger friend and another from the keep shot cannonade at me..and when all of u 2 was downed call the zerg.. yeah u kill me..good job..:D don t be proud of yourself anyway..;)

at launch break i have some interest battle with UW 2 ele and a charr mesmer (from fight fire with) in EB, between Ros start wp and Overlook..just want to know who they are and if we can battle some another time..
only a few battle seems so interesting and with such a good player..i enjoy to prove myself vs strong enemy to grow up more!if someone know who they are pleas tell me!

Fun AoE fire build with balanced stats. Good for farming and dungeon running. Could probably apply some pressure in WvW too. Utilities are pretty much up to you but I would advise taking at least one of the AoE burns to get the party started.

Right handed strength gives you great crit with little investment in precision. Carrion, Flame Legion runes, and Chrysocola gems give you pretty good power. Everything has condition damage on it and your weapon sigils can provide you a bit of bleed.

Solid vit and toughness plus using your active defenses (blind, block, dodge) will keep you alive for a long time.

this one seems really interesting to me..great dmg with survivability and burning.._
seems the thing i was search for..
and yes in gw 2 there are 3 different play stile pve/pvp/wvw and any one of these have different rules and benefit, but a good build is a good build anywhere..;)

in pve guardian are god, but so the only 3 competitive build 4 guardian are:
- bunker build
- glass cannon build
- support/healing build

can’t do a burning guardian who did a lot of dmg to another player (wvw/pvp)?

i see the best weapon choice is sceptre/torch and the 2^ line traits (on precision) is the most usefull (also the fiery wrath +10% against burning foes from 1^ trait line is usefull)

this is only a curiosity from a non-guardian-player..

yesterday i have run all the time s/s and it’s how u speak, s/s has more survivability and it’s better to fight with multiple enemy and/or a single staying in melee..pistol is to catch someone and have a little more control on enemy..so for now i’ll trying s/s continuated (but swap to pistol if group/situation needed)

(ps @moderat try s/s with 20 point in power +15% idamage and continue try it..4 me is the optimal now ;p)

osi u’re the best..really..i use a sc hybrid now, but i can’t choose if use s/s or s/p with staff and if take 20 point in power (with the +15% illusion damage) or 30 in precision (with the pistol range 1200)..:/ any suggestion?

You can have a decent condition removal Mesmer, but it is definitely a weakness since we have to devote traits and utilities to it, none of our weapon skills will innately remove conditions.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sat on a capture point with a god awfully long Poison stack keeping my out of combat regen from kicking in, I usually at least bring null field but it has a decent CD.

GS 3 and sword 1 (3^ atk) remove boon from enemy..o.o

the simply way to fix it can be the not enemy-legated phantasm, so they can evoked as necro pet and don’t die after the enemy’s death..this is the only thing i can imagine to save the class..°°

i’ll try to use the w but i hate the easy way he can just kill everyone..i like the hard mesmer way, but this nerf is too much..

now idk how to play mesmer..i running a GS – s/s-focus power build and now i don’t have the range atk (without the GS)..how i can do dmg from away the enemy?i’ll prove to use a melee build, but for it there’s the warrior with heavy armor and great massive dmg..so i’ll use the warrior for a while i think..but it don’t like to me..i love play as a masmer, with pro and cons, but now to play mesmer is very difficult..hope this end 4 ever after 12/14 and i can use the build that i have so hard study..see ya mesmer..

yep, if we give to the enemy the chance to react to our iberserk, we want to all profession to have 1-2 seconds after press the 4th key skill when we can have a moment to react to the powerful skill (not casting time)..
how write vendris they can stop the skill stopping the launcher, not have double chance to stop the iberserk..:/
