The server with a lesser OCX population will get all their players to get out of WvW during the OCX timing so that the server with the stronger OCX population won’t be able to pull out a lead, and vice versa for NA. What will happen is you will get more PvDoor

4 – Evades/stunbreakers
5 – Block
6 – stealth
7 – wildly swinging a GS
8 – count to 3 and dodge it like anyone else

1- ignored and removed by thief before backstab lands on you
2-goodluck fearing what you cant target
3-unless you’re standing on trap/mark thief will just shadowstep and troll you not to mention only immob and fear traps would be the only life savers
4-cant react to what you aint seen /unless you’re a tank yoour stun breaker wont save you from the backstab and finishing touch
7-auto attacking blindly isnt a counter plus swinging a gs if anything will help thief aim for your back.

1) Guards have multiple Aegis
2) Fear needs no targetting. Besides, the thief is right next to you.
3) Yea, you just answered no.2, and got your answer to killing a thief
4) The number of times I backstabbed a thief in stealth is ridiculous. By now, everyone should know where a thief will be standing once he goes into stealth using CnD
7) Yea, the thief will know where your back is facing, but doesn’t it also tell you where the thief is? You just swing once to lead the thief, and prep for the hit to come

Its Christmas week! Fitting matchup for the week, 3 respectable servers that have been through hard times together. NSP showed that they can beat CD, so its definitely game on.

Got to give it to NSP, they have really come a long way since the first week. The numbers they managed to rally for the assault on SMC yesterday and subsequent hit on our Keep, could rival any server in this league. Whoever was commanding that assault, /salute to you and all your folks.

Just wanna say CD should be really proud that we have been running BP this close for so long, and what we have seen the past 1~2 days is BP’s actual coverage that I recall from our last matchup with BP after they got a few guilds, albiet small ones, from Ioj etc. The main reason CD usually runs a single big group as compared to BP running a few smaller groups is precisely because we don’t have the guilds for wvw, not that it is some tactics. The regulars have been doing crazy overtime shifts and it was never going to hold out.

Well, still time to go, lets see where we end up. Regardless of what happens, CD have already done a great job.

I say CD should be very proud of ourselves that we held the scores close to Ebay. Not sure about Ebay, but since the last time we fought them, we have lost 2 important NA guilds. So to have our scores be that close is an achievement itself.

DB’s Oceanic/Sea coverage is still right up there with the best despite their meltdown. Their loss to BP is probably due to BP having a more rounded coverage as opposed to DB’s strong, but time limited strength

So, you admit you didnt sweep the perimeter and was assuming someone else did. And to let you in on something. If your eyes was fixed on Kome and was watching us jump out from the south-western side, you did exactly what we wanted you to do, and that was to leave the north-east area unchecked.

So dare anyone from sos come out and swear that they swept the entire perimeter of SMC? Or for that matter, swear that they saw the mesmer pop out of nowhere. When we went in, it was empty. A scout eventually came after we accidently made an orange cross clearing the guards

And you still didn’t answer the question. If a glitch was involved, why did we not just go straight to inner, instead we gave you a chance to come back to defend?

Lesson. Don’t be lazy, do your server a favour and do any sweep yourself instead of assuming someone will do it.

What is there to lie? We got the wall down, played around inside for abit, jumped out to Klovan and the whole lot of you just came chasing us and didn’t bother to sweep. So did you yourself go and check the other side of SMC? Or are you one of the 40 that didn’t bother and simply shouted sweep on map chat? Or did you even shout that at all?

If you touch your heart and say yes, you walked around the perimeter of SMC twice and didnt see anyone, then maybe something else happened

Besides, if there was an attempt to glitch in, why not port all the way inside?

There is actually a very simple thing Anet can do that will make things so much better for the NA, and that is to make it 3 leagues instead of 2. Just look at this

Gold: BG/SoR/JQ/TC/DB/FA/Mag/SoS
Silver: Ebay/YB/CD/SBI/Kn/BP/IoJ/DH
Bronze: HoD/NS/SF/ET/GoM/FC/DR/AR

Certainly looks better than asking rank 12 to go up against rank 1. Making it into 3 leagues or maybe even 4, and you will have quite a blast, because most of the matches will be very tight. As it is now, out of 7 weeks, you will probably see only 1 or 2 weeks of tight scores, the rest will just be a walkover.

Chill Pancakez bro. In this kind of matchup there will always be grievers, just ignore them. The fact that the actual post got removed almost immediately showed who was lame. Maybe that guy prefers a guild that will turn a blind eye and walk past one of their their own and offer no help at all. Tbh, I thought that CD would probably come out on top given rumors of transfers to your server and the fact that you guys have been fighting in T3 for weeks (higher rating?). Anyways, good match this week. It’s been very fun cept for that thread on golems and whatnot.

Well, whilst there were some minor transfers here & there, we did also lost a major guild, so it kinda even things out. The 4~5 weeks fighting T2 servers took its toll too, thats why many people don’t really care about ppt anymore. That said, its no excuse. CD should learn a thing or two about defences. Hope we can do better if we get an even matchup with you guys again before the silly league kicks in

Well done to YB, you have certainly grown in numbers since the last time we matched up. And now you have a Oceanic/SEA coverage that is on par with CD. No longer do you need to worry about getting night capped. Good job on your win.

First off, I think the OP is just using an example for the matchup between CD/YB, albiet it is not a very good example. So YB folks, don’t take it personally

The whole point is the suggestion of a siege cap on golems. Not sure if you guys have been on the receving end of a 50 omega golem rush by a T2 server before, it wasnt pretty and there isnt a single thing you can do. At least if its normal siege, you could counter it. Its just a suggestion to help lower pop servers like YB/CD to have some sort of chance against high pop servers

I can’t comment at this time as we haven’t finalized anything. In addition, you should look at it this way, if people flee lower league servers to get into the top leagues, it opens the opportunity for people to move to those lower leagues and finish 1st or 2nd, rather than being in the top league and finishing 6th or 7th. The rewards for finishing 2nd in the Bronze League will be markedly better than the rewards for finishing 6th in the Gold league.

So, what have the people in servers finishing 6th~12th done wrong to be denied the chance of equal rewards as opposed to the server in 13th that just won the Bronze League?

I thought the approach of the developers have always been about giving equal chance to everyone for everything? Why are we going against that? We are not talking about winning or losing here, since I believe its not possible to level the playing field for wvw. But we are talking about rewards here, and people being denied a chance of a reward just because they stayed in their server?

All I can see happening is people transfering to the top 3 servers, or the 3 servers that are likely to win the Bronze league. Screw all those in between

I had some traveler daggers from drops in my inventory on my mesmer, and today when i log in, everything became account bound, what is this? I can mildly understand the items that were already soulbound before the patch, but the items that just so happen to be just sitting in my inventory now are useless, this is crap. Am I getting punished for not selling my stuff before the patch?

I’ve consistently said we are doing 2 leagues in NA and 3 in EU. The leagues will be broken up strictly by world rating at the conclusion of the matchup prior to the league start.

I don’t think developers understand the huge gaps that exist between servers. Look at the servers in the top 12 for NA. There is a huge gap between these groups of servers.

1) JQ/BG/SOR
2) TC/DB/FA
3) Mag/SOS
4) CD/Ebay/YB/BP

Everytime any server from different groups get matched together, the result is concluded before the weekend is even over. The gaps between population is just too big to overcome regardless of what you do. Example, the servers in group 4 will lose by 200k to servers in group 2, and by 100~150k to servers in group 3. And now you want them to go against servers in group 1? What purpose does it serve except drive people away or make people consider transfering to top servers or for some crazy logic, servers in rank 13~16?

I hope developers think through how they are going to play this and the rewards they are going to give to servers in group 3/4 so that they don’t mind getting kitten d at their doorsteps.

General feeling here is not really animosity, nor is it people trolling like some servers do, just some silly stuff that happened in the past. Agree, we shall leave it at there. Things could have been better, but it happened, we move on. Learnt alot from you and I thank you for it. Same goes to the ex-CD guilds, still lots of respect that they stayed as long as they did to hold the server together after alot bailed to Kaineng. We shall meet in the battlefield.

I’m not into the talks of hiding in towers or open field siege, its a game mechanic, we learn to deal with it. Kome is a PvX guild, not a WvW guild, we only have some core WvW members. And the only reason we are able to pull big numbers into wvw at times is because of the commitment of our members to help out our server, not that all of them love WvW, so I am proud of all our members for their commitments to our cause and the server’s upkeep in status.

I hope today you got yourself a decent fight with our random group at Garrison/Dawn.

We rushed out plenty of times during that hills defence in CDBL if we are talking about the same incident. No gates was scratched and we still had it T3 and WPed. As for being wiped by a 70 group TC then wiping a smaller group on the bridge. Erm…. It was the same smaller group. We had around 20-30. No idea where the figure 70 came from. Kudos for taking hills in TCBL by map hopping to avoid us. Need I remind you that in your taking of a wooden hills from TCBL which we flipped back in less than 10 minutes, you lost your whole map in CDBL and a T3 WPed keep in EB? Grats on superb tactical moves. Hopefully we are talking about the same incident.

It was earlier when we were by the side wall of Hills, when a big group jumped on us and another big group came from the sides.

And you want to talk about tactics in a game that numbers only matter? We have a group of 30 which is barely enough to cover a map, and and its our fault that we lost other stuff? It was going to be flipped anyway, so instead of hiding in Towers like you claim we do, we went out to attack stuff. Again everything you mentioned dismisses your wild claim that we hide in Towers. And for the pictures bishop posted on Hills that he commented about TC hiding inside, it was for that specific instance. TC had just wiped us with a 70 man zerg, we came back for more, but they refused to come back out. A smaller group eventually did come out, led by a RE commander and got wiped on the bridge. Thats why we went off to take your Hills

We called out that TC hid inside Hills when you outnumbered us, you called us out for not rushing you in Tower when we outnumber you. Fairgame, showed that we are all the same that sometimes we don’t rush each other, but you didn’t see us coming out being defensive did we? Because from pictures, I suppose we might have done better at Briar, likewise I would have thought TC would do the same that they could have done better at our Hills and keep wiping us, instead they sat in there while we went off to take your Hills uncontested.

Anyway, the only common thing here is both instances, even the video, its TC sitting in the Tower/Keep, not us. Not that I’m suggesting anything thou =p, but it kinda throws away your claim of its always us hiding in Towers

You have displayed an image of someone dead near the water gate and 45 minutes later another screen shot of 2 people on top of the cliff (obviously inside Bay.) Was he rezzed through the gate? I don’t know there’s no proof. Was he rezzed from someone else hiding in Bay? I don’t know there’s no proof. Did he release and was he then ported in by a fellow guildy who was hiding? The really sad thing is that even though we have virtually no presence on the maps CD is gaining points on the MOS site.

This is the problem when you pit together different servers without some form of control over the population. CD are correctly positioned where we are right now, above the likes of Ebay/SBI/YB but below Mag/SOS. But that is just looking at things simple. The truth is, there is a big gap between CD and SOS/Mag in terms of wvw participation, like there is one between SOS/Mag and FA/TC/DB. The gap between CD and the servers below are smaller, hence the tighter scores, but overall, we are just about right where our strength puts us, which is neither here nor there.

The golem rush and tag team with kome is pretty evident of that,along with the greed to force a side on the rebuild loop.
Maybe DB needs to open its eyes and look on its own side for tricks and strategy,because there was one single guy that did something different and made a huge difference there.

not really…the complain i have is if a random mob i killed playing as a mesmer in Queensdale decided to start dropping PVP gear.

there is a reason you get PVP drops in PVP and PVE drops in PVE. because it make sense.

The epic fight in SMC. Sos came close to capping it, but bodies where thrown into the circle by CD and SBI, then it was CD’s turn, got the bar to half, but SBI got the Lord back up again. Finally capped by CD. Although we did hand it back on a platter 5minutes later.

Ops, something doesn’t match here. First you said you fought 6 by yourself, now you say its actually with a Necro friend. I am reading right. Perhaps its your story telling needing more consistency. How many times do you want to change your story?

You really are that dense aren’t you? That group did come from the spawn point. Shortly after I respawned from my one death, my friend and I picked off a few random SBI and CD. At that point that group that initially killed me ended up at the spawn. The mesmer’s pulled us down and it ended up with you guys killing my friend and me getting away. This fight happened down the first set of stairs from the spawn. At which point, I killed a few randoms that managed to separate themselves looking for me while that large group sat and waited for a port. That’s where the SS came in.

By the way, I only roamed around the dome area because my friend got pulled off the edge by temporal curtain near the fire trap at the end. I jumped down to assist. With how many of you there were running around, making it back to the traps would have been a waste of time. I am really glad that you called your guardian hopeless though. I couldn’t help but think the same thing as I rez’d the necro I was originally with twice under his feet.

What I don’t understand is how you automatically attribute me using stealth as running. I don’t write in a diary each time I use SR and why, but like I said before, I only use it when I need it so it was more than likely to allow me to reset myself. It doesn’t matter though, really. At some point you probably died to me, and based on who seemed the most adamant on killing me I’d place my bets on you being that kittenty ranger. Could be wrong though.

And who is this Jakob guy that is so famous? I haven’t heard of him on the forums, in game, or anywhere for that matter and I played your server for over a month straight and roamed everyday. So famous he has to be proclaimed by some other nobody from a nobody server. Jakob that one famous “Crystal Desert Invader.”

Also, I never refuge unless I absolutely have to. So I was more than likely low on initiative or needed that stealth to regen from something. The majority of the refuge’s were trying to res the necro I was originally with for the first 40 minutes or so. Don’t get me confused either with the other thief that joined me for the last hour or so after my necro friend left. I 1v1ed or 1vXed every person in there from that GS ranger, all the mesmers, the guardians, and the warriors.

Your efforts to defend yourself and your guild are as a terrible as the performance in the puzzle. You have nothing more than LOLYOUREFUGEDASATHIEF. Terrible.

I was not with the 9 below, because I was at the top watching. And that screenshot you have, merely shows 9 people infront of you, I don’t see any dead bodies, and if you killed so many, wouldn’t we have came at you at the spawn? I know what I saw, and you know what you did, just a thief running around from the dome area, to the spawn point. Paint a beautiful picture of yourself all you want, it only makes you look silly. Well, at any one point there was only like 3 people on you, and you didnt even try to engage them, ran so far so fast. I’m sure our famous roamer Jakob would have been more aggressive. Funny how when it comes to the forum, suddenly 3 people will become 10. Well, anything that makes you happy, good for ya.

I posted a screenshot of 9 people, 8 of which were from your guild. The only reason that screenshot didn’t contain 10 is because not everybody made it there for the port. They were killed.

I also never ran from any fight. Evaded a bit? Sure. However, there were multiple instances where I got knocked off of some of the cliff edges and didnt die because of the reduced fall damage trait. It more than likely appeared that I was running somewhere because when I became visible again I had some ground to make up before I could engage.

And insulting a thief for “running” just shows me you clearly have no understanding of the thief class and are reaching for responses. The entire class was formulated to hit/run. Good players know when to disengage and know when the odds are too much. Based on the 40 or so kills/downs I got in that 3 hour time period compared to my 1 death, I would say I did that pretty well.
