Not really. You could probably do it with a melee setup aswell.
Is just awarness of the red circles. which you can dodge pretty easy. by just side stepping. Or just pop aegis a second after the circles popped.

We’ve killed first boss yesterday.
And I felt quite usefull.

Dropping blocks on demand so we could do a bit more damage without dodging out of the blue circles. And my melee damage was pretty high. Seeing up to 35K GS 2 skill in my screen.
Also when one of our Green Circle people got downed – I was the one going there with Mercifull Intervention.

Also the fact you barely do any Cripple or Slows as a guardian works quite well with the tactic we used.

There’s problems on so many levels, that even fixing one level completely won’t have much impact. Everything from the very foundation all the way up needs redesigned and completely reset. And that even includes the mindsets of a loooooot of players. Unfortunately, that’s just plain not possible. Anet isn’t going to fix the foundation as well as all of the details built on top of said foundation, and the playerbase isn’t going to go do some studying of actual strategy. So….. we end up with the constant karma train. Because that’s what it’s set up for, and that’s all a lot of people know.

The balancing (that is already late, gg not even the first balance came on time) will come later and we will surely see nerfs.

I talk with servers we fight and they are bored due to lack of opponents, i hear complains everyday about the new borderland maps full of PvE content and about most of the changes Anet has done to WvW.

Don’t get me wrong, I do understand that the current WvW system has its flaws.
But saying you’re talking with the opposing servers and still lacking fights is a crack in your credibility…

The thing atm is – the rewards in PVE are better and faster than in WvW.
There isn’t alot of content in WvW that upgrades your Guild Hall for example..

Also Fractals give me a better / faster chance to upgrade my gear to ascended than a night of WvW. And well the droprate of other stuff in WvW is so kitten, that i can’t earn my gold with it.

As for server population… Like many said before me (in other threads) Anet should actually merge some of the servers to balance the population.

I wrote: they should bring back the old maps + improve the rewards.

Merely better loot won’t make the majority of the core players happy. The general consensus is that the old Alpine borderland fit WvWvW better. And the new desert borderland would make a great pve/dungeon map. Not a day goes by without somebody stating that in guild/map/team chat.

But somehow I don’t see this happening any time soon. Developers have pride and admitting so huge mistake and installing back the old maps would require swallowing a lot of that pride.

If I would give an advise to the dev’s i’d say…

Make 3 different borderlands.

Alpine
Dessert
Jungle

Size of the dessert one is good, though they could add something usefull between the long walks, so that roamers would also still have something to do.

Wouldn’t mind a City map either – tho the FPS would be dreadful.

With how WvW communities are organized these days – you can rotate borders every week. So not everyone has the “fun” maps.

This is pretty easy to solo within 30 seconds.

So whats the trick? Tried to duo a barricade yesterday and after about 15s, the hp bar wasnt even down to 99% – it didnt move at all. Needless to say, we gave up.

But with the normal hits between 35-65 I’ve had a couple of hits for 900-945 a couple of times.

Noticed this only happened while I was using the revenant Hammer 3 and Hammer 5 tho.

I’ll test it again when I get home tonight.

Tbh… The Hero Points are already covered in WvW with the Scrolls.

I rather see the extra points you earn could be turned into Mastery exp (preverably for the magguuma ones).

I for example want the Mistward set for Revenant – which i can only unlock, by leveling up the kitten masteries in Maguuma, which I don’t like to do.

Given the fact that you could get into action, within 2 minutes of walking in the old borders, makes the new borders lackluster and boring.

I really miss the “instant action” part of WvW atm.

Several people glitched in, and most of them jumped out immediately. The guardian, and one guildless person, decided to stay inside to destroy the superior ac instead, taking it from full to 0 health. And yes, the ac was destroyed, we built another one afterwards.

After those people glitched in it took around 30seconds to get the gate down. I doubt that you managed to rebuild that arrowcart seeing how many green dots you have on the minimap.

But if that guardian stayed and killed the arrowcart. I appoligize in his behalve.

The siege of SoR BAY lasted what? 4-5hours?

We started with 40-42 including militia. And fought TC on their terms. Below arrowcart and treb supression. You wiped us one time during the first few ours infront of bay and made us retreat one time aswell. Once we cleared the siege you were having a harder time. But still came out fighting. Loved that!

Was a bit sad to see the arrowcarts being insta replaced though ; (.

When we took bay after the 4hours of sieging and distracting etc. We were 21 IRON with 12 militia running with us. One of them being a lvl 22 upscaled warrior (mentioning this to give him an kitten boost since he fails at playing his necro!).

Al with all we might’ve started with the same numbers. We ended with being outnumbered.

This however doesn’t change the fact that (correct me if i’m wrong) we all had a lot of fun.
Which is what the game is about.

I was the one commanding tonight btw, but hey i’ll take your rebuke on the chin, for whatever imaginary slur i gave you. All I was saying was that we left the wall down at bay and did not build one piece of defensive seige so that we could have an even fight.

You had us outnumbered in almost every fight, sometimes 2 to 1…is that not even enough still?

Is there ever any random group on group fights in WvW that are 1:1 numbers? Or do you sit there and count nameplates before and after each fight?

A battlefield commander (even in real life) needs the ability to consider the situation and make judgement calls based on his perception. Numbers aren’t the only consideration of course but it is a huge one, perhaps the biggest, in a game like this that rewards bigger groups.

Tbh. There were/are quite a few RL Battlefield commanders who don’t care about numbers and still win the fights.

Though you say we outnumbered you 2 to 1 is even far from the truth.
Since you weren’t the only one counting. You guys had roughly 33 people in that group, couldn’t count them correctly since you had people skirmishing back and forward.

We had two groups of around 18-20 IRON tags, with 1 of the groups having 1 HIRE person with them.

So we roughly had 38 players on the fights with you. Now 5 extra players make a difference, specially in organized fights. But it wasn’t a 2:1.

I enjoyed the fights and you guys did give us a bit of pressure.
But saying you downed quite a lot of us, mabey – mabey not.

From my perspective in the “wallfight” ,were we had 10 players (which were 15+ actually) go to your back and distract you, we had 7 downed players including me, which 2 of them got stomped of (not me).

This is by no means any sort of elitism, just telling what I saw in that certain fight.

Probs for you guys in coming to fight over and over.

Mabey we indeed should get an real even number organized fight going, like offski suggest.

Also last part they jumped into the water and wanted to fight – you kept standing near the edge – hence i wouldn’t try and get close if i was in the water either. If you’d moved towards the sentry – you prolly would’ve had the fight you wanted.

Back to the topic:

I really enjoyed the small scale fights during the day I had.
And yesterday night was pretty fun aswell!
Also a big thumbs up for tkitten guilds/militia from JQ and specially BG.
I LOVE the fact you guys actually charge in to fight, even if the odds are against you.
We fought even numbers for quite a while and enjoyed it alot. <3

What I find amusing is SoR claims this is a community effort, yet they couldn’t win a T1 matchup till Iron and their 2 full guilds showed up ( Blah Blah Iron I know yousaid you don’t have people) But people I know have already confirmed iron and Lron or ( Iron and lron) are in fact the same guilds. Regardless here is a few things I noticed at reset this week.

SoR folks from TW and Fear, and Iron claimed BG was scared and panzy’s for not fighting, yet firday night by My count Iron got steamed rolled 4 out of 5 zerg fights and TW LOL lot all but 2 of their ZvZ fights with KnT and Ruin. In fact SoR got rolled so hard by BG ( which the past two weeks comming into sunday we had been in last place ) that I say Partial TW zergs running. Saturday morrning Iron had a major presence on EB at 7 am pst by 8:30 I only saw the spreatic Iron. Guessed getting rolled by an equal numbered zerg and JL in the lead broke your spirits a little. You even lost LL in the only time we BG and JQ taged teamed you, and there was no real confirmation to alliance there.

Then all of our NA poeople ( 70% probally ) as to what I can only suspect went on their Memorial day vacation. We were out manned on EB, JQBL, and BGBL, and what do I see JQ and SoR working together fighting side by side at EB BG spawn. This is why most BG has stop fighting basicly we are all sick of fighting in WvWvW and fighting against SoRJQ. For once we would like to fight SoR, and JQ not SORJQ.

I for one will be glad at the new match ups, see some fresh faces that do not stand side by side at a spawn camp.

Lastly to the few JQ that aren’t spinless and piggy back lately on the strongest server on at the moment I salute you. To SoR Becareful what you ask for, it is obvious when BG comes out to play the only thing we see from Tysm, TW, TWL, and Iron is red stains on the floor. We don’t need to win this week, we are bored with T1 and the saem old fights, we just needed to show you why Blackgate is still strong, and what we can do. Enjoy all the bandwagoners and enjoy the EU coverage, cause If BG ever gets EU coverage Iron will be in for a surprise, since they could never take 1st in the EU servers, I am betting once they have any force against them, they will faulter like they did in the EU servers.

I do not know why you’re friends are who confirmed that we had 2 guilds coming over.
The Iron Triangle is the only guild that transfered.
We have 50 people (tops) on during our prime, with around 30-35 as the mainzerg.

Also if you want to talk tough about us bailing on EU, get your facts straight… we didn’t leave EU servers because we got opposition, we left because there were not good fights.

Either we were facing a vizunah omniblob, who actually wiped us frequently,
or we had to face T3 towers with 101 arrowcarts and al being manned.

I sincerely hope you guys get some EU coverage, and that we meet again.

P.S. When we heard rumours of you guys recruiting EU guilds, we actually got happy.
The fact that it was 3 guilds instead of one made us even more happy.
But why overstack a time zone again? I kept an eye open on NA forums for around 3-4 months now.

Please keep in mind that SoR wasn’t doing much before IRON came to your server with almost two full guilds, leavign SoR with an EU presence that can cover a 40+ man zergs on 3 different maps at the same time. Now I am not down playing any of you guys on SoR and congrats on this weeks win and last weeks win, I think it is much deserved for you guys. Although lets not forget it is only becuase of IRON you guys are in the position you are in. Any how grats on winning.

Funny on how most nights the BG TS is reporting a 40+ zerg on BGBL and JQBL and we are seeing a 40+ also on EB. At the same time. But what have you I have also seen IRON and lORN which is iron and Lorn. I know this only becuase A few guild friends that have friends on SoR ( gasp spy ) have applied to both. This doesn’t change the fact SoR be it good in their own rights have IRON to thank for their recnt wins. I think they’re the biggest bunch of whiners around and i love seeing them lose but the rubbish that comes out of your guildies’ mouths are pretty cringeworthy considering you’ve just transferred and already you’re acting like you carry the server while SoR had been competent to begin with.

Winning, losing, it don’t matter. I’ve seen server come and go, from back when Henge was dominating to the rise of JQ to SoS. Look at Kaineng and where they are now. Nobody wins forever. No one lose forever. The only thing that matters is how you present yourselves. Sure, it’s all for giggles. Sure it was just trolling to get the blood pumping. That doesn’t stop you from being a prik though.

There are better ways to go about getting a fight; being a forum warrior isn’t one of them.

We never ever stated we carry SoR. For all i know th reason we have it “so easy” is because SoR’s SEA and Oceanic.

But i was scouting yesterdays JQ zerg in Eb yesterday. They ran with atleast 60 players taking every BG they could consume. We even circles around the BGkeep to catch them. And we were 25 iron with 15-18 allies..
Still they ran towards bravost and stayed in. We started trebbing them. And instead of coming out, they start counter trebbing.

On BG border earlier that evening we had no competition. Thats the only reason we went to EB.
Guesz we’ll get some good fights this weekend.

Ohm you guys brought over a massive army that no one have numbers to compete against. RK is the only active EU wvw guilds on any of the servers that have numbers close to yours and you outnumber us by 10-20 people in most cases.

This information was available to you when you transferred over. When BG goes down a tier or get mixed out there will be no forces left to fight you. We have the latest Asian going into EU. This was all known information.

You’re not the only EU force on JQ. You have near a dozen board contributors from EU kitten . Between you and BG sea stripping us during this time… How do you not drown in so much bullkitten? Lol

RK is in BG not JQ. Yes there are other smaller forces like SF on JQ that run some stuff during EU, but they tend not to have more then 5-10 and ohter then that there might be a few here and there, but nothing massive.

It is not until at the end of the night the NA guilds start arriving that we see JQ forces out in force. Now for BG’s SEA the issue is life.
They can not push them self to my hour every day and RK can not stay active for longer then we do. We are a limited guild with limited number.

Yes sometimes we have help, but when we come on BG we are the only force with numbers. Yes there are others, but they do not have the numbers we do and IRON still outnumber us with 10-20 people.

No i am explaining numbers and how things are. Yes 10-20 is not a lot if you have a 100 people, but when you have 15 then 10 more to the other side of dedicated and skill wvw’s is a big hump to overcome.

Numbers are important to understand how army’s move and how servers can move. I was more responding to the one IRON complaining about lack of fights. It is common sense. Understand this i have and will continue to rune RK into army’s 2-3 times out own numbers like i did yesterday and we will have a blast doing it.

Also why should we start fighting harder so you can have a easier time?? What is in it for me. We fight all or no one because that is the RK way.

I don’t mean to butt in but, where is BG SEA? You guys aren’t yourself atm.

BG SEA used to be heavily supported by MERC as well. Seems like MERC doesnt feel like completely carrying the server as much as they used to.

There is currently a huge BG zerg on EB, im sure all of their current active forces, but that is probably because they only have 2 viable targets to defend atm, and no one wants to go to DC bl to try to cap their hills.

That is why we in Black Gate are stuck in a bad position.
Right now there are only 2 active Borderlands SoR and BG. So we will be hit by both SoR who now have the strongest EU and JQ who are hungry for scraps.

The thing JQ lacks are guilds willing to duke it out with a SoR zerg and they go for what is easy and SoR have no choice, but to go to BG.

Overall it is a small mater. If i am i am no longer sick in a few hours then i will come on and go after SoR like i always do. After all there is no fun in fighting some one who do not have more numbers.

Also a side question for SoR are you actually getting real fights. I MEAN REAL FIGHTS! not getting stuck outside a slow siege, but a moving fight.

You couldn’t be more wrong. IRON chose SoR.

Have a chat with your communityleaders and your big wvw guildleaders.
IRON scouted all 3servers for 2-2,5 weeks, had several chats with them and made a decission..

I’ll elleborate this more once i get home. Can’t really type that well on my phone!

As for the scores atm. Weekends aren’t the days the match gets decided. And never has been.

First of all I’d like to thank all the Rallians to welcome IRON to SoR the way you did.
The information and joy you shared on TS was well done and alot of fun.
This gave us another boost to try our best this week, which lead to one of my best wvw weeks in months!

secondly I’d like to thank all of the BG and JQ guilds (and individuals) who put up such awesome fights. Some of you guys just kept coming and that showed you guys ment the real deal.

Now I also had the feeling that you guys were not at full force, hope this week that won’t be the case.

Also even though there was abit of moaning and bitter tears on the forums. I found most of the posts really positive.

I hope next week will be even better than this week.
Keep the fights coming and the forums clean!
