Butterflies are often associated with the psyche/the soul as well as transformation. I always felt this tied in nicely with the Mesmer lore.
As someone who has avoided fractals for a few years. I am now grinding them out specifically because I think you’ll need the asc back piece for the legendary one. I also want to run the new levels with all my friends!
It’s surprisingly fun so far.
It’s a lot of fun with friends actually, I’ve grinded 20 reward levels in less than a week now. I was avoiding fractals because random pugs can be useless but now when I got a guild group for it it has been a blast!
That is indeed the secret, loving friends who will carry you! (Although I am contributing now:P)

To get a good sample size, we need someone with thousands of gold and too much time on their hands.
Not it :o
But really, gonna try on some revs after work.
So, buy the cheapest precursor off the TP and exchange it via the mystic forge for the most expensive one? Sounds like a plan!
Sure is. Didn’t i say it being one time only and it come with some cost. Of course, an initial ripple in market is to be expected. If you are one of the market manipulators, of course you wouldn’t like it, no?
I bet Average Joe, who just crafted one of the expensive legendaries in order to sell it for 3.5k gold will be delighted by this change and this sudden influx of new supply, forged by rich players, who can afford to outright buy one of the cheaper legendaries for around 2k gold, throw in a couple of mats worth 50g and undercut him with a legendary that cost them 500g less to acquire within 3 min, while he was grinding for it for the past couple of months.
I have enough gold to purchase one of the cheap legendaries to turn it into a quick 500g profit, so i second this proposal.
Not so sure wether average joe would agree though.
Maybe they should make a way to produce an account bound precursor.
Like a scavenger hunt or something?
For PVeE: ele, war, guard, and thief are pretty much top. Mes, engi and ranger are pretty good, a bit situational though. Necro is considered to be the worst, but it’s honestly not a huge gap between it and the mid tier classes, outside of group utility.
For PvP, pretty much everything is viable(meaning, it has at least one good build available,) excepting a few classes in VERY high-tier play. You and the rest of us 99%, will never have to worry about that.
In WvW I think guard, war ele and necro are still considered top, but there’s room for mesmers. Engi and ranger are situational. Thief is excellent for roaming.
TLDR: you are going to be wanted in all game modes if you go with your pick of guard, ele thief or Mesmer.:)
Hope this helps!
I think it should apply Resistance instead of functioning as it currently does. It adds counterplay, interacts with boon duration, and also makes Warriors immune to currently present conditions on their bar. It’s win-win-win across the board.
I’m actually surprised that this wasn’t changed when resistance was added to the game.
I remember reading about resistance and thinking “Oh, so they can use this instead of Berserker stance’s weird mechanic.”
ETA: grammar is hard.

Or make it that once you convert a precursor over to another one, it becomes account bound.
This seems fair to me. But if it did happen, it would be years down the round. We still have a huge asc ring issue (but they are working on it!)
It comes down to what you do. Veteran player while they have more experience they tend to skip most mob in dungeon and in open world.
I have gotten a pre doing ac and one doing Arah defence event. I also have gotten one from the mystic forge when I had a mystic conduit.
If you only kill big bosses and skip mob a lot you are not rolling the dice for a chance at a precursor.
Then you wonder why you have gotten a drop in 1, 2 or 3 years. New player tend to kill everything once you stop doing that you dramatically decrease your chances to get a precursor drop.
The same with dungeon recipes people skip so many mobs and they wonder why they haven’t got one.
I think this is untrue. If anything, vets are more likely to get pres because they have more tokens and gold to gamble with. I bet you getting pres from mobs is much less likely than forging. Plus, even semi-hardcore dungeon runners kill more mobs “skipping” through dungeons than the average casual SW chest farmer.
More like similar price RANGE because one account should not be able to do it more than once , so retaining some price gaps.
P/S : trident leg is awesome indeed, but i wish i could show it off more often to people, not the ambient fishes.
Sure, that makes sense.
I also really love the spear because it’s purple and because sharks!

Eventually they would all settle into a similar price, wouldn’t they?
IE, all precursors would cost 600g, instead of some costing 150 and some costing 1200.
up to you if that’s a positive or not.
Is the BETA still going? I might try and log on and get some numbers off the rev’s exos. Is it so impossible ANET increased the odds of a pre drop?
I got a zap after spending 350g on exo swords today.
Are you talking about the different GW2?
Heeere we go :-/
And FWIW OP, I agree with you.
I must be playing this game wrong because for me, half the fun is checking out other people’s characters.
thought that guy was quoting himself
We are girls. :P I mean I’m not sure about the other Mea but it’s my real name and I’m a girl… xD;
I’m also a chick, but “Mea” is both my initials and the first few letters of my name
Plus I’m a bit of a Latin dork.
There isn’t anything in this game worth 3700 gold.
This. I have a little over 4k gold now (casual player since 2012), sold one precursor, I only spend gold on cash shop skins I like (I like maybe 1 out of 10, lol). Waiting for some decent armor skins, I don’t care much about huge weapons because of clipping…
OK it really freaks me out when I see you’ve replied to a topic I’ve never seen before.
I always think I’m going crazy.
It doesn’t help that your answer was similar to the one I was going to type out . T_T

Looking at the ladder, it looks like it’s more about the number of matches played, not quality.
But I’m no expert.
+1, yes please!!
Near perma-stealth glass rev!
IM GONNA STEAL ALL YOUR BEASTS AND DECAP YOUR MOM
-stares at username- Okay, that confused me for a second… o_o
Greetings, fellow Mea!
Eternity in Sunrise or Twilight form doesn’t actually look quite the same. There is the gem, the brighter and more visible aura, different footsteps and dual-projectiles from things like Bladetrail or Binding Blade.
Personally I would love it if I could make my Eternity be in Twilight/nighttime form at all times. It’s mainly the aura I want to see. Twilight’s aura is barely visible on a Charr especially in dark armor. Eternity is clearly visible on the other hand.
Yes, exactly The Eternity version of Sunrise is much brighter and prettier than the original. (As is the Eternity version of Twilight, too! I’d love to have that on another charcter.)
The main problem I’m having is that it’s hard to get a cohesive and pretty all-over look. The two swords are very different looking, which makes matching armor very hard to achieve. I’ve just settled on swapping outfits for now. I may just make a second set of exo armor.
An alternative would be the ability to load dye templates. But I don’t see that happening for a long time.
I’d really love to wield the sunrise version in my nighttime dungeons.
More precisely, its pommel.
Why doesn’t it change color with the day/night cycle? Is this intended, or will it be fixed in a later update? As far as I know, it’s a bug that’s been around since its cycle was added. It really bugs me:P
Do you suppose another legendary texture update is due? Are there any other legendaries with glaring graphic issues that you think should be fixed? Post them here, maybe we’ll draw a red post;)

You can choose any weight from the box.
That was amazing! Well done!
You can refine ascended mats (stars, ingots, bricks) to 450-ish, then they stop giving experiece. It’s slow as hell, too.
As far as I know the guide routes the cheapest path possible.
An easy way to fix the “world is full” bug is to have an instanced party member go to the character select screen. Hasn’t failed me yet:)
As for kicked party members staying i the instance, I have heard of it, but never experienced it firsthand, so I’m not sure of character select screen would fix it.
Do you not like PvE?
Honestly, if you want it in less than six months, you’ll have to run dungeons or TP.
There’s just no way to efficiently farm lodes off open world enemies.
I think mine took less than a month, running around 12-15 paths a day (made sure to hit up CoE if nothing else.)
So instead of mounts, you are asking for…mounts?
Eh? Eeeeh?
;)
I’m am playing a mesmer & i am sooooo disapointed theres no other build then PU that you can play on spvp. It’s getting boring!
Uhm, shatter infinitely better than PU.
Just sayin;)
IDK if I’m in the minority about this or not, but for the love of the six, PLEASE no more channeling for mantras
Go team Canise!
I am abokittenely Pro-Canise
If you buff everything, things die faster and everything has to be rebalanced. Because pepole already complain the game is too easy.
I don’t think this game is easy, I think the content is two years old:P
Drop a newbie into arah and even the good ones’ll die:)
That’s probably true. The thing is, new content get’s beaten and figured out so fast now that unless it’s mega hard, it’s chewed through because we know the game so well. I’m not really sure how that can be fixed, without adding artificial difficulty, which I don’t personally like.
I think anet can make difficult content, and they are working on it now, I think they are trying to get their average player-base (hint, no one on the forums) up to speed in terms of mechanics and such (my tinfoil hat theory in regards to the focus on NPE this last patch.)
Difficult content should be achievable with such beautiful, active combat:)
(edited by Mea.8967)
Does it never end?
“OMG this is too good, nerf it! Whatever you do, do NOT improve on the kitten that isn’t too good! That would be insane! Do not balance positively, only balance negatively! OMG!”
How about instead of nerfing what works, you enhance what does not? boggled

Why should berserker gear gear be devalued? If people want to spec for great dps then they should be rewarded with…great dps.
GS with Axe/mace and Fast hands is considered optimal in most PvE situations.
Nike has a great guide available post patch.
Honestly? If you wanna play GS go Wvw or Spvp.
It’s very strong there
Pretty sure the Pale Tree traps the dragon’a head when he lands to attack you (check above for branches that grow in to hold him down.)
It would have been cool if he could get trapped by the Tree in more than one place, but technical restrictions probably prevented that.
What annoys me about this patch is Anets lame attempt to “equalize” all builds by using timed immunities.
I specced into damage to finish fights faster, not sit there and stare at the boss being immune 90% of the time.
Well at least this quells the strawman of “zerks cant play well because they kill stuff before the mechanics kick in.”
In my experience this is true with most of the zerkers I’ve encountered (not ALL)
My experience is opposite, newer players/players who don’t know what the heck a combo field is are the ones I tend to res on my full dps ele.
Sadly the opposite of data is not anecdotes, we’ll probably just have to disagree:)

Are you serious?
In challenge mode, the dragon heals very quickly during invulnerable phase.
Also a vine will spawn and eats you up, and you can do nothing but standing there.
Do you do it in a group of five? I did it in a pair, and doing alone would be extremely unlikely. What class are you using?
Ok so I ran through it again on my ele for comparison (lower vit and def than war, less healing ability) and challenge mode was a tiny bit harder than the first fight, but I still beat it in two tries :-/
Solo/dps/etc
just hypocritical elitists who invited themselves into a ‘thread thanking new harder content’ and interpreted that as a warrant to proclaim to the world that it wasn’t ‘difficult’ nor worth their time
/shrug
such is forum life
Gosh, I love a winner’s attitude.
Look, come watch me play sometime, I’m sure you’ll see I’m not doing anything extraordinarily talented or “elitist.”
The most “hardcore” thing I’ve done is remapped my keys for my tiny hands :P
OK, maybe I’m in the minority, but I literally couldn’t tell the difference between the “challenge mode” and the regular dragon fight (aside from those seed pods that tried to attack you every now and then.) It took me one try to get the achievement.
The taimi episode just had golems, and the champ near Omadd’s machine was a bit annoying to melee but was easily beaten the first time.
I am not a super talented player, so I have to ask, how is this any different from standard dungeon difficulty? Aside from the fact you cant fgs it?

I beat LS on my warrior, but I’ll try and do it on my ele to see if there is more a difference (usually is.)
Edit: Also, no, I did it solo.
Oh, Trahearne did say something!
He used his old line about the “enemy is among us!” or something
I thought it was smart to at least recycle some of his dialogue, they could have used a few more lines, IMO.
“Greetings”
“Hello, Commander”
“Just who I wanted to see”
etc etc

Did anyone find they seemed flirty? Is there such a thing as cross-racial dating in tyria?
Did you mean “rectangles?”
I just had a silly idea to help new players learn the mechanics of the game. (A common complaint is that gw2 doesn’t do a good job of teaching its intricacies to players.) Little tips that show up at the bottom of the loading screen (like the ones from Skyrim.) Adding simple things like " Stealth does not prevent enemies from taking damage. Keep attacking to try and down your enemy!" or “Use Blast finishers on fire fields to give your teamates might.” I feel could greatly help clarify the way the game works for new players. Anet could even include little blurbs of lore (this game is sooo lore rich!)
What do you think?
