What is the point of expansion….
It’s like movie sequels. No quality but just there to make extra money. I prefer it the way it is now without any expansions or anything like that.
Living Story is exactly what you described and worse.

http://news.17173.com/content/2014-05-17/20140517123651663_1.shtmlthankfully, ..now if only people could stop asking for it..just so they can devour content in a month.
You devour LS content in a few hours..
The most impressive thing is they get what they want and we who want to make ourselves heard and want to enjoy this game into an active exploration and fun experience are denied, because after 20 months it gets old… The one’s who come comment against are just following the tide, if you throw LS they will like, if you throw an expansion they will like. Btw if LS and expansion teams are diferent why do players come divide eachothers opinions, this might create unworthy doubts on gw2 crew. GW2 is following the commodity tide, it’s not the Guild Wars i knew.
An expansion is the only thing they can offer that I’ll pay for.
Then it’s a good job for Anet that you don’t represent 100% of their player base, or else they’d all be out of jobs by now and GW2 would have been shut down.
Or they would have to been forced into making expansion, there would be no need for a cash-shop focus leaving us all with a better game, they would keep a better name and they would still make the money they needed because of expansions-sales.
The problem is that indeed not 100% of the player-base does that. Now we end up with a worse game that more people walk away from, results in a worse name for ArenaNet and might eventually mean many people will be out of jobs.
Just so you know that i’m with you on this one Devata, i share your idea and many do but aren’t here to see gw2 going forward because they really quit. I commented on how players don’t look at what’s happening and at others, plus that comment was removed by a moderator, for no reason. So it means they hear us, take your conclusions.
With the appropriate consumer demand, the United power of the consumer(us) can quite frankly force anet to do as we demand. Too bad ppl rather buy gems.
We are here to go against the tide, we can do it.
I just can’t play because it lack’s “big” new content, i want to but i can’t! I love this game so i would love to see it improved. I remember when GW2 came out, i had my friend list full and all pretty much active, now only like 5 still play, plus the inactivity of all other players i don’t know. I think you have this “big gem” you can improve and get loads of money out of it and importantly give us the fun we are asking for and will pay for!
This game has no monthly-fees so betting on expansions would bring a better income for you and more fun to us! It’s time to make decisions, people are clearly unhappy and some give their opinion in hope something good happens, but most of them just leaves. We are willing to give our money for a new expansion, you have loads of feedback! You have everything you need to improve your income and GW2, like the wonderful game it can be. Players are doing their part, we need you to mutually benefit!
I think i speak for everyone! Awaiting good news, good afternoon!
I really do miss my Marhann Grotto druid armor from time to time.
Marhans Grotto <3
I remember late-night dance parties in Marhan’s Grotto, back before Factions released. Good times….good times.
Good old times :’) GW1 completly magical, the thrill of finding runners to grotto :p
I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for new legendaries, I really want to make a legendary shortbow but there is no chance I would ever make that joke of a unicorn bow, I want something fierce to accompany my incinerators.
Yea! In my case i dont feel like buying twilight or sunrise because everyone has them and i dont find them really good looking tho.
I’m still waiting for:
-> Dyeable weapons
-> Improved underwater skills and gear (even my elementalist with max berserker stats can only do like 300 damage in the fire attunement underwater at level 80. It’s an absolute joke)
-> More gw1 weapon and armor skins
-> Being able to collect any surrounding loot bags when you’re dead
-> Account bound dyes
-> Account bound wxp (and I know at least THIS is coming, but it keeps being delayed)
-> Exotic/Legendary dyes with animations/special effects that can be applied to armor
Good ideas!
This is not GW1,understand that and you might enjoy the game even more.
Ignorance isn’t understanding. Knowledge cannot be forfeit, well . . . I suppose if you wanted inflict great mental decay upon yourself, that’s always possible.
That pretty much said it
CureForLiving.5360, you answered your own question:
“Why do people like this? My brain can’t comprehend.”
Answered by, “…any mechanic that’s implemented people will attempt to gain the maximum benefit.”
In GW1, you’d put together a set of skills and go out and use them to see if you were getting the maximum benefit. If yes, great. If no, rework and test more.
Well said!
I really do miss my Marhann Grotto druid armor from time to time.

I played since the first day, until i bored myself to death with the lack of content, the living story and 324362 overflows that events create, where you have to spend loads of time waiting on main flows or just have luck and hop on it through a taxi, plus it gets repetitive and for a bunch of greens it’s not worth it.
Im away for months and just log in to see how things are, because im still waiting for:
- New legendaries;
- Crafting Precurssor (both of them were promised in 2013);
- Diversity of skills for weapons (i remember how i spent hours making builds on gw1);
- Stop grinding events (we are people not hamsters who walk in the same wheel for hours, this also gives a image of lazyness in the content production);
- Bosses with lower HP but harder to kill ( i’m not saying all bosses should be like Tequatl, but hitting the boss for loads of times doesnt make it harder, instead it kills the player with boredom xD);
- Hoping boss scaling to work good or remove it (“Oh 10 players coming, let me get loads of hp so they waste more time on me”, this just removes the “reality” that we all expect to feel playing a mmo);
- New and fun content, expansions;
- Armors that can be obtained or crafted in special areas (remember FoW armor? besides being costly being on FoW and having to do some quests first, just spiced it up and just felt better to wear it
, also if it’s a place hard to reach just increases the pleasure of wearing that armor);
- Bring the GW armors and weapon designers back to gw2, because 70% of the skins are a bit bad looking in general, sorry to say
;
As a GW fan i just wasted loads of time thinking and writting those, because instead of hating, im trying to contribute to a better MMO, that i would love to play, but can’t due to disliking on how things are going.
To all GW2 players, please tell us what are you still waiting to see on GW2?
Hoping to see improvements!
+1 race change……
So many good ideas and we still have to see them flap 10000x times :/
I like this winged skins, but seeing it flap 10000000x in a minute gets annoying really soon.
Like Ghastly Grinning Shield who sleeps when you’re not in combat, wings should stop flap and collect near your back. A simple touch would give the winged skins such a diference and more enjoyable ofc!
Loads of people want this Mini Slot. But you must know every first comment on the thread is someone hating. I second you God
I second this, same problem
I just can’t wait for new legendaries to come out!
I can imagine a new GS with “mystic nature” theme. Legendaries with “conditions effects” aswell, like you were burning or others, plus loads of new effects
.
Are they being worked on atm, i’m soo anxious about it
I would like to have something like 2 Sets of Swaps.
For example 1 Set Greatsword – Shield/Axe. 2 Hammer – Mace/Shield
I hope you get your money back
Hi all, here i share some ideas players give wich i find really interesting.
The main topics are:- GvG ( Not only the battle itself but guild ranking, also items that only can be given with certain ranks , exclusivity).
“Guild Leaderboard” is a better term then?
- Town claiming ( due to xx patterns guilds could own towns giving the G. privilleges).
Done in GW1: Factions. Not sure how useful it was as it was rather expensive to do.
- Dailies converted to weeklies/monthlies ( Gives freedom to players and availability to be flexible to play).
Not as good an idea as it was in the past with them being stored in your quest log. Since there is no quest log, I don’t know how well it could turn out. The only opposition I have to this is the reason Daily quests exist – to entice people to log in daily and be active together.
If you can find a way to fill that void, I might support this more for “seven times a week” rather than “once per day”.
- Exclusive weapons and armors from bosses/dungeons drops. ( Keeps players up for the challenge of getting one or can just achieve one from another player, still focused on exclusivity)
I think we’re getting closer to that through the Champion Bags, but some bosses in dungeons do have unique drops. They just aren’t that good. And World Bosses sometimes have drops. Look up: “Melandru’s Bloom”, “Breath of Kralkatorrik”, “Arctic Ring”, “Charred Back Warmer” . . .
- Monthly new fract/dungeon.
This would be quite labor intensive and would require a lot more manpower to develop alongside the Living Story teams. Not to mention a testing period.
- The so awarding Cantha or new expansion.
Please, people. Stop bringing up Cantha as though it was the most awesome campaign setting of Guild Wars 1. I’d much rather see the Far North Shiverpeaks again (the domain of Jormag).
- Living story heavily reduced and/or given secondary priority to it. ( Give priority to new armors, dungeons, weapons, apply exclusivity).
Frequency of it reduced, perhaps. Not the actual content, because then you will undoubtedly get into “what’s the point of it”.
- New weapon skills/skills.
This really really was a problem in Guild Wars 1, having WAY too many skills and many of them never used except in gimmick builds. Plenty more never used period.
- Minipet slot
- Option to use all consumables same time ( Instead of clicking 250x times)
These two quality of life adjustments I can definitely get behind. Having recently had three stacks of Liquid Karma to get through.
I would just like to thank people who come to forums to share their opinion, who face the hypocrites fanboys and show GW2 staff the good way that most of the people see.
If you like something you have to speak the truth and strive to make it better.Thanks Community, to Admins
Please don’t pretend to speak only for “the good”, nor label those who you don’t agree with. People have different opinions, and some change their minds over time, and some just really enjoy playing the game as is.
I like this game, I don’t lie about my feelings, and while I don’t strive to make it better, that’s because I don’t think my ideas will make it better for everyone else. Otherwise, I’d make the ranger the most kill-stealing, DPS-cranking, toughest son-of-a-skritt class on the game.
This is a community compilation of ideas.
That is your opinion, wich only agreed with minipets and stack use option? That’s more downing other opinions. This lack of feeling for a true amazing experience wich they “sold” us when we bought gw2 hits some players, like you. You like GW2, yes just like that, it’s some game you can spend your hours on.
Why not, “i LOVE GW2”, “i’m so looking forward to play it today!” No, you haven’t got that and that’s why forums are made, to keep players on sharing ideas that make them play the game with fun wich is lacking nowadays. It’s just farming. While the whole GW2 was new yes, was really fun, but now they must do more efforts on keeping players on besides doing the dailies and once-per-day player restraining.
Need more teams for new content besides living story? You didn’t understand that topic, people in general are tired of living stories wich lasts for 1 whole year while not prioritizing other most interesting things.
Exclusive drops from bosses/dungeons aren’t even worthy of being called so. They should be even more rare, good stats, stylish, that would make them costy and something to strive for.

I would love if Devs check this thread and answers. They are too busy drinking champagne and enjoying the money they made on pre-orders tho. They totally don’t know what to do but instead of listening to us like they say they do they keep bombarding us with living stories and Salvage-o-Matic items ahaha
GW2 HAS A GOOD MARKETING PROMOTER, i just would love to play a game wich lived to the finest expectations like they sold me.
I totally agree and many do for sure. Instead wasting their time on living world events they would just follow people suggestions on forum and create an expansion aswell.
This may take long
Agreed and sellable
GW2 is all about luck, considering only this topic there are people with 2g get a percussor and there are people (big part) who have to buy or waste +200g on forge to get it or get nothing.
If you want at least to get players hooked up in the game you cant afford them to lose that money in hopes, when others can get them on the first try.
My suggestion is, everytime u go to the forge with 4 rares combined u gained +0,01% or 0,001% chance to get a percussor bonus for example. This would scale till a max limit like 10%. Considering former chance bonus.
This would get more interesting to us who waste our time getting money to lose it right away in the “mighty” Zommoros.
This is not a “give-away” percussor suggestion.
I would rather play GW2 real content and make dungeons than losing time making dailies and monthlies every day every month.
Hi Community and Admnistrators,
I know its hard to find a solution to keep hardcore players more distant to being bored of GW2. Altough hardcore players don’t play only one game and prolly have another and it’s normal for people to have peeks of motivation in the games! The solution you’re at, is once-per-day content. Something that isn’t pretty good at least for healthy players like me who work, study and spend some time playing GW2. Taking dailies and monthlies out wich already take time and i sometimes miss them, once-per-day event will like cripple players getting their stuff and make them just come here to do it.
The “ultimate gaming experience” vanishes and more like a second work appears wich is not fun. I agree players who work for their stuff, waste their real life hours playing a game should have fun and get what they want at their own pace, fully restraining isn’t going to have a positive effect.
Ye Nabrok, but i find that system a bit less effective than this one. You must buy bag and everything it goes there when the others are full need to be clicked. Although this is just the second topic
There are loads of minipets account bound from certain and unique events.
They should be sellable making it possible for other players to get them and creating a “rush” to events to get them as rewards. Just like GW1. This way it is actually rewarding getting minipets from unique events.
Collectible button toggle off.
What i mean is that everytime i bring a mini-pet and get loot i always do deposit collectibles to be faster and mini-pet since its a collectible always vanishes aswell.
To avoid this easily and for people to use mini-pets everytime there should be a manual toggle off on collectible items.
Comment and express your ideas and agree if you want
Admnistrator really helped here. I think this is a good advice
Everyone sharing the same feeling towards this once-per-day stuff.
A Dev should be giving his “shout” to us and hopefully hear us, we are the one’s who keep GW2 up
I agree to STOP or DIMINISH once-per-day content. We forgetting the problem here, lack of new content and that is not settled by dailies or monthlies. “Setting a pace” to hardcore or normal players by once-a-day content, that’s more like crippling our own game evolution and work. So we go to GW2 do the same thing 20x or more talking about dailies, and problem solved? No, of course not.
What do you do when you’re crippled, u remove it(Metaphor). We players feel rewarded when we do our efforts at our own pace. I think the 24/7 NERFS are enough, to cripple us.
At GW1 we didn’t have this troubles, so please set GW2 to a good way.
Make more armors, weapons other stuff! SO many stuff!
Hear your community, not people who defend everything you do, because that’s a fake evolution.
With regards
I agree with Fortus. I’m in the same situation and i agree. Don’t let down on other comments many are of the “super easy” guys who repeat 50 times or can’t make it and just come to hate around, because it’s UNBEATABLE in some classes
This for the people who aren’t able to talk. I’m sharing my opinion and the one’s around me, i’m free to say it, but you’re not free to be rude to it.
So you play a MMO to play 8-bit version, doesn’t make sense. We have said we didn’t like (not against it) and if i say there is community who doesn’t like SAB is because we have bases to say it. Ironically 80% are haters to this post and 20% know how to discuss. The one’s that calls us haters.
I would rather see Canthan Expansion coming to GW2! Then SAB part 2 coming!
This is our point.
GW1 had an essence that you could feel from the beggining, that good feeling of adventure, it was pretty much original.
I like GW2 but it evolved from a thrilling game to a game where you wear quaggans plushes? play 8-bit versions?
I had fun playing SAB first-time, but has completly nothing to do with Guild Wars.
I speak for me and what i’m always hearing about this.
As i read future changes i saw this getting loads of new things when it’s just not worth it.
Barely anyone likes this and only uses those skins because they are good looking( not on my opinion). Every place i see comments of this, through the net i only see: “We need real new content” and some more things that i care to say.
Please don’t waste your efforts on this, work on real content like community says. I agree with them.
Hope it reaches GW2 Crew

Joe please, shut up… You wanna make it harder for only a rare? Random spawns? For people to lose their time searching instead of doing boss? You seriously don’t make them everyday like me
World bosses that don’t just sit there letting you hit them. Why don’t they have any other attacks that you have to adapt to? Why can’t world boss spawns be random, and maybe even some of them should move around the map to ‘retreat’?
Hello Gw2 staff and community, i’m here to show a suggestion that would give more morale to us players. I play Gw2 and i find it a wonderful game, but since i do not powertrade TP, i work hard to get money, i do it the right way. I like to get expensive stuff and that’s how i keep motivated to play. Although when i work loads of hours to get something to only be used by one char it’s kind of “unrewarding”.
I think unlocking weapons account bound would be better instead of soulbound, because you get tired of that very soon, and rolling your weapon account wide would give more boost to play. Me and lots of players have this objective to keep on playing, so i quit the last month and so many did.
This suggestion would “spice” the “weapon hunt” by trying a weapon you worked hard to get on a diferent char of yours.
Players who explore and do it the right way to get money, like to get rewarded, so if something makes you work hard to get, you won’t get the motivation to keep on working all over again. Account bound would give more fun and pleasure with the expensive stuff we get.
I hope this is heard by GW2 Staff and approved,
thank you for your time
With regards
