Yeah, in my experience, the mac version gets worse and worse each time they change anything.
Worked for me with drakes yesterday, no help I know.
It’s one of the not few event chains that sticks regularly. Don’t hold your breath for it to be fixed. ANet seems to make zero bug fixing effort, spending all their time creating new content. This event chain (and many others) has bugged since launch.
Previously, there was a “Magic Snow” patch in the Great Collapse area of Divinity’s Reach. Now that it is the Crown Pavilion, there is a flying snow generator but no snow patch underneath it. Checked several times.
They’re “working on” so many problems. Maybe they should take a step back from the frequent Living Story releases just until they eliminate this and all the many other bugs , but they won’t.
I am informed by an ANet representative that there is no way to reset an event apart from a server restart. That is far from the only bugged event.
Two EU guilds here, no storage accessible although they are both maxed out, no influence earned, only one character on the roster, guild chat tells me I am not in a guild.
Moving requires moving position, jumping does not count.
Same on Whiteside Ridge.
Red and Blue have:
Capture the Temple of Lost Prayers for your realm
Defend the Temple of Lost Prayers for your realm
Green has:
Capture Temple of Lost Prayers for your realm
Defend Temple of Lost Prayers for your realm
Also “realm”. Other events in the borderlands use “world” .
It the “Defend the Seraph camp until reinforcements arrive” event or its companion event. They have been pretty consistently bugged since launch and no one has even acknowledged that there’s a problem. I am not sure if it runs after launch once before it bugs or if it even gets that far.
They are paid by the hour and their contracts are still running. It’s easy wages so…
Yeah, you’re right but see http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Category:Text_errors, only 596 others. Likely they will still be there when the game dies.
Not just Blacktide…
This event has been bugged for months now. Typically the NPCs are stuck on the lake shore. I have camped the area and it does not happen. I am aware of the event cycle from the time before it became broken.
I have reported it many times via the bug report option but I am convinced that no-one actually takes any notice at all of bug reports. I have reported 100s of errors, without an exception, they are still present.
I doubt very much if reporting here will do any good but I am excessively optimistic by nature.
There are hundreds of spelling/grammar errors in the game, literally.
…if you want a nearby lowby event that truly is impossible even for level 80’s, check out that one near the Decimus stones after you blow them up where you have to try and defend some super flimsy ash legion Tents from Mages & Monks with FOEFIRE who usually auto-cast it right on the tents the instant they spawn. ….oh and they just instantly spawn within casting range too. No walking like every other “attack wave” mob in the game… Great design, huh?
It’s meant to fail, I think. To reset the event circle. There’s a few of the “always fail” events.
Don’t hold your breath.
Not that many DEs are broken.L…
You are joking, there are very many events that are broken, some barely last 10 minutes after a restart.
I have reported it many times in-game.
There’s 500+ text/grammar errors listed on the wiki. Some may not be valid but the majority are.
Unfair in war???
Try guesting?
Not available, it’s the way the emulator works. AFAIK, of course.
There should be an achievement for 6.
I get the much longer load times WITHOUT an SSD. so do friends, so it’s not just SSDs.
Yes, I complained about this but the GM seemed to know nothing about it and told me to stand by the chest and raise a ticket. No help for those missed though.
I complained about this to support and was told to raise a an in-game ticket and the devs would have the details. But no help with the missing ones. New content = new bugs.
I have this problem too.
My favourite is filtering the word “reputation” in game due to some, Spanish I think, rude word. It’s 17 years since the UK town S’c’u’n’thorpe caused a problem…
I have this also.
The timers, as far as I know, are not returned by the GW API. They are part of the website that provides the “best guess” times. If the event bugs then the websites will be useless as they assume that the event is still running normally.
Some events or chains of events bug. Once bugged then they will not be seen until the next server restart. It’s not possible, apparently, for a GM to reset an event.
The Flame Shaman at Lake Feritas chain often bugs. Been like that since the game launch.
Actually, the Trading Post runs as another application, also called Guild Wars 2. Sometimes it “sticks”. I go into /Applications/Utilities/ Activity Monitor and find all occurrences of Guild Wars 2, cider and wineserver and force quit those. Wait a minute then restart, fixes lots of stuff for me.
I believe they are not directly linked but share a common “bugable” situation. Looking at their status, both the oak and the behemoth events are “in preparation” according to the API query. If they have not fired off for days, then they’re stuck until the next server restart. Apparently there’s no way for the GMs to do anything about it.
I didn’t need to buy new ones, I just activated them in WvW then cancelled the build.
It should be possible to phase those people who want to just explore out of the PvP. I agree with the above sentiments. I absolutely detest PvP and am frustrated by the difficulty in completing this part of the game. Maybe ANet could charge some gems for the “Explorer” facility.
I am unsure what “bumping” means but if it means that this topic is looked at again, that’s my idea.
There are quite a few chains that bug soon after a server restart and others that bug at a longer interval.
The wiki has lists of all events, or all they know about. Look on each zones page.
Working versions seem to have a cog icon over one of their heads, bugged versions do not. Might save some time.
As someone told you in chat, Caching Out does not count. It’s in the patch notes somewhere.
Hi,
I think ANet pitched this instance at a certain level of ability. This thread is full of them and they’re happy with it. But the people who comment are a small proportion of players. About 200 so far.
I am not a fantastic player, I am not in a guild full of pros. My first PUG got tired of trying to get past Frizz. Other times we have passed him. eventually. No one at all in allt he PUGs and people I know stand any kind of chance in getting past Mai.
Oh lots of people have but not one that I know.
Getting past her is needed too progress in this story. We can’t, not will not try, just can’t.
Hopefully the next Living Story will be a little less impossible for the casual player to finish. By all means have a really difficult instance for extra points but please don’t exclude a not inconsiderable segment of the players from finishing.
Not all of us are as young and quick as we used to be but we purchased the game and feel somewhat excluded.
And none of us consider it fun, rather the contrary.
As for quoting the definition of achievement, they are give them for trivia as well as more difficult things.
Just my 2¢.
Anyone got any solutions for the fluttering bird syndrome?
I noticed the “fluttering birds”, not just owls. No d/cs though.
-Help Keela unmask the cheats trying to gather data at the chess tables before they escape
-Prevent Inquest thieves from stealing boxes of golem parts and fleeing Soran Draa
-Investigate Inquest activity in the Golemagical Institute
-Destroy the experimental Inquest golem
-Slay the King Hermit Crab that escaped from Splorg Metamystics
I have never seen any of these events – I, like you, have looked for them and I am convinced they’re no longer in the game.
The Guild Wars 2 that you see on your Mac is a pkg file. Inside it is the PC version, using that version will work on a PC.
Right click the mac version and "Show package contents.
Open the Contents folder
Open the resources folder
Open the transgaming folder
Open the c_drive folder
You will see the GW2 folder, copy this folder to your PC. That worked for me.
No guarantees
The forum is full of people who have had this problem. They seem to fix it by going back to each area and checking there is not an uncollected area completion reward chest. Also Chantry of Secrets seems to sometimes need revisiting.
So revisit all the maps/areas starting from “Chantry of Secrets”.
You’re lucky that it worked. Most glitched NPCs stay glitched through death and revival.
I had 502 error, quit game, back on with difficulty, problem still there, quit again, back on after many retries, 502 gone.
