Even though the achievement does not explicitly say so, it most definitely has to be done in one raid lock-out period. Weekly reset resets everything, including progress for your current raid instance.

Back in my WoW days, many raid achievements worked exactly like this. Each week when you enter an instance, you are assigned an raidID, and even though you do not have to complete an achievement in one session, you do have to complete it in that raidID. As the ID resets weekly, so does your progress.

No character slot still.

I haven’t received my additional character slot yet :/

no character slot, i activated HOT on 21 oct.

Hello, there is no additional character slot on my account – I bought my HoT 5 days ago. Thank you in advance!

Still not extra character slot…

To all the “no character slot” people – read what is written around the stuff you are buying, so that you can avoid confusion and disappointment later.

As the pre-purchase offer has ended, I cannot quote the text written there directly, but the additional slot given as a bonus to every edition was being given on a weekly basis. Therefore, if you purchased HoT 2-3 days ago, you’ll have to wait a few more to get the slot.

Dungeon nerf and TP flipping

This is such a ridiculous and jealousness-driven post that it is actually more sad than amusing to read. And the absolute climax being this claim:

By ToT farming and SW you play the game, by flipping you don’t. Flipping is something as side effect of bad model making of trading post.

Wow. Just wow. Because running around like a lobotomite, spamming F key, is really a compelling gameplay, certainly intended to augment the enjoyment one gets from the other, more interactive game modes.

I’m sorry, but if you really think that by taking my time to research the current market, just to make profit from the impulsiveness and impatience of other people, altogether while pushing the prices into equilibrium and getting rid of excess gold from the economy, is worse than you role playing a bot, then I just can’t take anything you say seriously.

I’ll just add that while you claim, that people who flip do not play the game and just amass gold, I myself probably play the game many times more than you do, as I’m primarily a pvp/wvw player, and in the 2-3h I get to play daily, I can easily enjoy the gamemodes I like, while maintaining some listings in the TP.

tl;dr Not a single thing said by the OP is truthful, informed, relevant or god forbid reasonable.

Tempest mockery!

Strange, I experienced quite the opposite.

As an aura d/wh tempest I was able to stay alive and keep my team alive in outnumbered situations easily (spvp), even 1v2ing a burn guard and a d/d ele for about 7 min and having enough time to mock them that they can’t even get through my Diamond Skin. The build actually really plays a tad differently, more “healerish”, than d/d or staff support.

I also tried a s/f Fresh air marauder and it was fun, especially with the air Overload, which is actually ridiculously strong on points. However staying alive was quite difficult, even more so with no support from the team. But I must also add that I don’t really shine with s/f fresh air.

All in all, I don’t see me playing tempest in a pvp setting in any other way than as a support, which in my opinion is not that bad as the forums make it look.

I’m not sure how you did this. Diamond skin only applies if you’re > 90% health and if you’re doing a 1v2 you don’t have enough stamina to dodge all their attacks. You get 2 dodges, with energy sigil maybe you get 3. If you had a focus you could do Earth 5 which maybe buys you time to get one more dodge, but you are using warhorn? So I guess they hit you and you use water 4 or something but then what?

The 2 would have to be incredibly incompetent to have not gotten you down to 89%.

If you said 1v1 maybe… but a 1v2? Come on… it sounds a little outlandish to me..

I was exaggerating with not getting under 90%, however the point was that you are still able to sustain yourself pretty well against both power or condi builds and stay at almost full health pretty much constantly. If properly traited, shouts can be really decent, i.e. they heal you, remove a condi, put weakness on foes, protection on you, and usually grant some decent aura – it’s basically a shoutbow the ele way.

Here is a build I approximately used http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vFAQJBIhdSfJ0fJWhJ4gJwhJWEBM326bNvS0BSAHghAwA4+B-TJxHwACeAA62fAwJAoYZAA

Prot+weakness mitigates dmg incredibly, rotating through water with 2 blasts together nets you a 7k-ish heal plus regen, you have good access to frost aura for another -10% dmg, you gain auras on overloads, on elite when it does not proc, and have two on weapons for another 1kish heals each. Shocking aura stops aggression tremendously, that is why I usually use rebound in air. Simply put, if played well, the sustain is there.

I died only because I screwed up, and got my behind caught on fire with no condi clear, and well I don’t need to describe the ridiculousness of guards 10 burn stacks…

Hey, I am an EU wvw/pvp player and I’d really like to get into casually running dungeons/fractals without suffering through the usual pug noob frustrations. I mostly play wari and ele, both full ascended and ready. So if you guys have a vacancy, I’d love hearing from you!

No speed?

I think Heralds/Glints party-wide perma swiftness pretty much compensates for a no 25%ms trait, as I don’t really see any open world build forgoing Herald traitline in favour of any other. The same imho applies for spvp and pve, where ms is of a slightly lesser concern – with herald bringing so much boons into the play, I doubt many builds will favour other traitlines as it synergises well with any type of a build.

For me it’s pretty much like Discipline on warrior – you can live without it, but it would be a tad masochistic.

Stun Breaks

Shiro, Glint and Jalis all have stunbreaks and one of them is basically guaranteed to be combined into any type of build. Add the possible traited stunbreak on legend swap and stability on dodge, the Revenant has plenty enough stunbreaks for its overall playstyle.

Patch Today: Key Farming Impacted

Misfit.6250

People thinking this was a good or a needed change will get hit in the face once the BL weapon skins basically disappear from the TP, with only a few being sold for precursor prices.

Yes some may find the farm boring and unrewarding, but the same goes for any other farm be it FGS/Orr champs, the Silverwastes, or anything else. I’d rather repeat a short routine for an rng thrill at its end, than zombierun around a map for hours.

The worst part is that there is simply no alternative way to get BL skins now. If you wanted a skin really badly, you could have just buy some gems, turn them into gold, and buy it off the TP. Now, you’ll have to gamble using your money, not just time. Well, yea, sure.

They should have just made the kitten tickets a gemstore item sold for idk 500gems/piece, remove them from the chests, and just alter the chest to drop something else, useful to the player, not the TP. All the other permanent contracts and home instance nodes could as well just have been made either gemstore items or acc bound and have their drops increased. Therefore there would not really be a need for a farm, ANet would get their money, and players their stuff.

Tl;dr A sad decision in the long run.

Auto Attacks seem really hard to get off

This is most likely a l2p issue, but I feel the same way. It is either very strict in registering the hits or the attacks have a very small “range”, which is rather strange, because I can better “randomly cleave” e.g. on my thief with a dagger than on a revenant with a staff.

[Feedback - Berserker]

in Warrior

Posted by: Misfit.6250

Misfit.6250

My two main problems with berserker are the dubious usefulness of going berserk, and the fact that the class did not get any better means of surviving than facetanking all the damage flying around atm.

Going berserk is a very inconsistent decision, as you can easily screw your own situation by locking yourself out of the usual utility of your burst skills, sometimes even ending up with a burst that is simply worse, but that weaponset is needed for said situation. An example is a spvp build using mace+torch / longbow. The lb primal burst is simply inferior to the normal one. The same goes for hammer, which primal burst is very situational and even harder to land (l2p).
My suggestion would therefore be to enable both F1 and F2 during berserk, but toning the modifiers of the original burst down to fit the one-bar adrenaline mechanic. This would really make the berserk worthwhile as it would be much more flexible, again e.g. I can either use my mace to CC with normal burst or apply more pressure with primal burst, and the same goes for other weaponsets.

My other suggestion is giving the berserk something that helps the player to stay alive. To go into the traitline, one has to make great sacrifices in either damage, defense or utility, and in return doesn’t get anything remarkable to compensate for it. I honestly hoped for some mechanic true to the name berserker, e.g. 20% chance on hit to get healed for a small amount, or even more zerky, to drain own life to gain some 2s of protection and resistance, in other words some niche mechanic to keep the war going. The burning design also could have brought at least one ability capable of blinding. There surely is potential for making the war into something more than a hulk, but this time a hulk that is on fire.

The conclusion is that the current state of berserker doesn’t really do anything for the class that can’t be done without the traitline, often event with much better results.

one big problem is the legend swap. it takes too long. i had situations where i died because i swapped legends but skills were not ready to use yet because it takes like 1s until the skills flipped over :/

But even though there is a flashy animation of the skills flipping from one legend to another, they are actually available right as you activate the legend. I do it all the time when going from shiro to glint, instantly hiting swiftness and might facets, and they get into their upkeep state while the animation is in progress. It’s only a little bit confusing at first.

Guild Wars 2 Setup Installer crashes

Misfit.6250

Johan, I don’t think they will answer… their posts are from years ago…

Ow, that’s what I get for not looking at the time stamps.

But there are other two (at least) topics, talking about the current issue, where the Gw2Setup.exe only downloads the initial ~9.5MB, then the window disappears, reappears, and freezes with “Downloading 0KB (0KB/sec)”.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Gw2-setup-freeze-crash/first

The “fix” mentioned in all these topics, where the download actually works when one renames Gw2Setup.exe into Gw2.exe, seems a little odd and not as a permanent solution.

Snowflake & Luck droprate from gifts

in Living World

Misfit.6250

I’m just wondering, whether the droprate of these items isn’t broken, because before one of the recent patches, if I opened let’s say 500 giant gifts, I could craft 50+ exotic essences of luck, and got a reasonable amount of various snowflakes. But the last batch I opened today gave me 9 fine and 68 masterwork essences, while the snowflakes kept dropping like crazy, yielding 1-3 stacks depending on the tier.

Seeing their drop in value on the TP and lack of interesting uses, they become virtually useless, and I’m wondering if this was intentional, as I would very much prefer getting my magic find slowly up to getting yet another unvendorable junk.

You do not get laurels daily anymore, they are a login reward from the second chest in each row, giving you 1,2,3 and 4 laurels respectively, plus another 10 and 15 from last chests in the first and third rows. Simply loging in daily therefore nets you 35 laurels a month.

Plus the last reward, the “Chest of Loyalty”, gives you an option to pick another 20 if you so desire.

Salvage highlighting

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Misfit.6250

I myself find both effects rather annoying, with the new item highlight being definitely the worse. The shine and saturation of the color change is imho too strong, but I’m a “little color and shininess” sensitive, so others might not feel the same way.

The salvage highlight would have been much more pleasant, if the change was not into the redest of reds but rather into grayscale. I would say both red and greyed out means “disabled” in common design, and I think if the purpose is to not show you the things you can not salvage, then why making them all glow red instead of making them less obvious?

I got the same problem a few days ago and got fed up with it, so I started digging in the source code of the homepage and found the CSS to be unreachable, just like shadow.6174 did. For some reason there are a few errors when the page requests resources from the server as can be seen in the console, so I higly doubt that it is a problem on our side.

Note: the net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT is adblock stuff and turning it off didn’t fix the problem.
