ESP is having our 7th annual “welcome, Spring” party this month, Platypusapalooza!
ESP is active in the Tarnished Coast WvW Coast Council and runs wvw as a guild on Tuesdays and Friday reset. We are not hardcore at all, but do expect members to respond to the commander and to continue learning their class’ role in WvW
ESP has many pvpers who partake in the ranked tournament as well as unranked for fun! We go into the Heart of the Mists on Thursdays as a guild group in fun and always learning or honing on skills.
ESP Raids are in full swing! We’ve even added a second Raid day to accommodate everyone and our numbers interested. Sunday and Wednesdays we venture into the Heart of Thorns and conquer bosses who terrorize the story and lands.

My name is Missy. I’ve been on Tarnished Coast since 2012. I’ve been commanding since 2013. I organized the Tarnished Coast server for 2.5 years before taking a step back to refocus on my guild. My guild is a PvX guild where WvW is one of the aspects of the game we enjoy. Our view on WvW is casual but progressive. Builds are made but not mandatory, and training is done when the group needs it.

Personally, I have helped over 300 people learn WvW and move on to WvW guilds. I’d like to help people learn WvW once again (and keep you in my guild :p ).

Our WvW has always been casual and will remain such on reset and the second wvw event of the week, as I said, but I’d like to also eventually form a more hardcore group that runs once a week outside of the other two events.

We are not looking for elitist attitudes, but people who care about this game play and want to be in a guild that is keeping it alive.

About Us:

ESP is a guild which was formed in Guild Wars over seven years ago and ever since our inception we have remained steadily active. After racking up numerous awards and accomplishments, including ‘Guild of the Week’ as recognized by Arenanet on Nov 28th, 2006, we now concentrate upon Guild Wars 2 with full force to continue our legacy.

ESP is a social guild — meaning that our primary focus is upon the people who make up our guild and the sense of community that we all share in together. Member Requirements:

We are an 18+ Guild. Aside from that, what we look for when we review prospective new members are people who are friendly, easy-going, and who have a strong willingness to interact with us and take part in guild activities. We would rather have someone who will run around laughing and having a great time win or lose rather than someone who is a professional at the game and plays 40-hours per week (not to say that some of us aren’t game addicts). We believe that our easy-going humor along with just the right amount of organization are the keys to our longevity.

Our player base is international; we have members from every continent (except for Antarctica), so people from everywhere in the world are encouraged to come find a new home with us —a home where you can find great people to play with no matter what time zone you live in.

Our annual February event, ESP Harmony, is this weekend in our new guild hall! We just switched from Gilded Hallow to the Lost Precipice in January.
Casual Raids, WvW starts back up in March, PvE, PvP, and more!

We also changed our Charter on representing.
“We expect guild members to represent ESP when joining for guild events. While we have a very low representation policy, we expect interactivity such as talking in chat, going to guild events, or donating will be our way of making sure we stay a social PvX Guild. We prefer not to set a hard limit on what % active is ‘enough’. However, if players are observed to be continually absent from the game without notice or not interacting with the guild then they will be contacted and run the risk of being removed from the roster.”

—If ESP is having a guild event, and you’re in that part of the game, you still need to be at the event with us and representing: WvW, PvP, Raids, Fractals/Dungeons. EotM does not count towards WvW
This was done to accommodate current members game-play and to help with recruiting as we look forward to welcoming new people!

A handful of people not taking the time to do the puzzle shouldn’t merit the devs taking a Wintersday event out of a Wintersday achievement. . . practice other jumping puzzles first if you’re not comfortable with your character.

I’m not reading all 8 pages; but I read the first 3.
I’m more shocked people are, it seems, offended the Wintersday Jumping Puzzle is needed for a Wintersday achievement/skin. I’ve been playing since GW1 and beta and this was the first year I attempted the puzzle; got it my third try. There are tons of videos and help out there, and it’s not unreasonable to have /3/ successful runs be part of the achievement. It could have been 30 like the toypocalypse rounds needed. I was expecting 10-15 to be honest when I first started looking into it.
I think all of the requirements for Winter’s Presence is very reasonable for casual and hardcore AP hunters except for the drinking. 10k is a pretty obnoxious number. I have a guildie who had over 1k gold. He is broke now to under 100g after buying 2 Wintersday skin and trying to attain all of the drinks as well as the sigils/runes needed. I have no hope of myself ever getting it if he is still farming the puzzle for presents to get drinks and tonics out of.
I do LOVE that the drinks have a consume all button. My future carpal tunnel thanks you hahaha.
I have never liked the concept of outfits after the change to town clothes. Even with town clothes I could mix and match the pieces until they were forced together; and I stopped using them after that. I would love to have my affects as another tab to be placed on outfit or armor. Recently, the black luminescent was acquired for my pvp necro . . .and then found out it can’t be seen in PvP I can only assume because of the buff it gives. If that was turned into an affect tab I could turn just the look on and off, I’d buy more or try to get more affects like that.

I must mirror the concern above my post; can we work on this all year? Obviously the Wintersday ones need to be during Wintersday, like the puzzle and gift yak, but the drinks and the mystic forge items could be all year. . .

One of my biggest complaints about Wintersday would have to be the lack of available party situations. There is the Tixx Infararium (sp). and that is it. As a guild leader trying to keep people together in game, this is hard to do with Wintersday events. I understand everything has been made instanced, but there could be a queue like the old WvW reset where parties seemed to have been pushed together in queue..that only when 5 slots were available did it pop for everyone. At least let them go into the same instance 1 by 1 when it opens if they’re in a party…

Could we please have some sort of guild mailing system? We hit excessive messaging at 2 people (or if that could be raised?) and for guild events or guild activity warnings, I literally have to set aside a chunk of time to do it instead of what could be done in 10 minutes. It really messes up guild events as well making people wait 30 minutes just to send out mails. My suggestion would be is there any way to make a guild mailing system that it doesn’t hit excessive if they’re in your guild?
Or if we had a choice to send the same mail to multiple people but each one would be sent it individually? I know that’s opening a chance for mail scammers or gold sellers again, but I personally have only had those in whispers for the past 2 years after you put the warning at the bottom of each mail.

Speaking as someone on TC actually involved and pays attention to the WvW organization. . . .TC was not stacked before the alliance came over. The alliance coming over brought it to more of an even number across those in T1 at the time, despite the few guilds who left.

DB is open and most guild transfers are going to WvW and yes they have been rising w/o the link. We have many people who pay attention to the glicko and numbers; though I understand what I’m looking it, I am not one of these people watching it constantly.
TC has PvX guild transfers and many solo transfers for PvE and PvX guilds and community which is why we’re full but no, we are obviously not covered for all hours of WvW shown by score. . so we cannot possibly be stacked even now. We do not have a link because of server status, but it would benefit TC to have a link for more than current numbers across the board than it would DB. . . and I’d venture to say DB would take a much smaller hit if they lost their link as well. The Kaineng link was notable for TC.

@ the original post, I miss that too!! The variety is nice though; hopefully it stays as a variety though. I honestly do not know for sure if the ratings were linked as servers were, but I believe it is based off only the home server, DB in this case.

If you weren’t around for TC history nor play on it right now.. you don’t know what’s going on over here. Just stop talking about it and go PPT and stomp in game if you’re upset.

I would ask it be an hour earlier. 10pm eastern is terrible for Eastern let alone if the queue monster attacks. I used to live in Ohio and to be honest I would not make an effort even as guild commander to make every week because of how late it would be and how late we play until. An hour does make a difference between fighting for a keep for 2 hours and stopping to see it flip or 3 hours to capture and hold it getting ready for the next time zone.

500 v 10 . .. I’m sure the 10 would love to have the resign or surrender to go to a different game. It happens way more often than one who does not PvP would think.

I always thought this a long time problem, and one reason why I hardly use badges for gear (at least not for my main build set). If I put something on it, it’s there, no salvaging, no changing, lost or set depending how you look at it.
Honestly thought this would have come up sooner and figured if it had, it was placed on a back burner or told ’that’s how it is’. Completely support this thread and ask that a dev to relook at it again as a possible change.

Also special thanks to Yuki, Ophi, Plsno, Durgun, Goseldt, Rhindek, Mystck, and Fly (I think that’s who it was…and maybe 1 other in OBEY channel) for havocing and defending with us throughout the day as well as commanders and zerg who came to help fight bigger attacks.

Daily themed events are coming!!! We have events most days right now as it is, but to reach each PvX more and to help include all time zones better, we are revamping how events are done. I’m super excited for it!

Eh, it was worth a shot :p Trying to grow our PvP community inside the guild.

I think alliances would be pretty neat, but it would destroy server and any large scale coordination WvW. How would seasons go as well?

I just want to know why I have 0 lag in EotM with all the hundreds of people, but one ‘three-way in garrison’ in WvW and I can’t move.

In a 450 person guild, though, the officer needs to be someone who can take all the member’s complaints, ideas, be around, and interactive. As well, if the guild has events to be able to make them as often as they can. The guild I’m an officer in has ~300 members at any given time, and officer material is a rarity in those who can prove themselves (even after promotion) and those who want it.

That said, I won’t join or be an officer, but if you do have any list type projects, just shoot screenshots my way with what you want done, and I’ll work on it for you

ESP is a very stable guild. The leader has been here for 10 years this June, some officers for 5 years or more, and I’m hitting 3 years as an officer this May. Several many members have been here longer than I have. It’s an easily loved guild and those who truly love and enjoy us back find it hard to leave and will come back when they pick up the game again.

We’re having our 9th round of the guild Lottery. One happens each season with a 70% of the pot to the winner, 30% to the guild bank. The majority of the 30% goes towards prizes for the next event we hold every even month (except August). The entry is only 3 gold and you pick 2 numbers 1-100. How easy and cheap is that?!

I think CC’s, boons, condi removals, and boon stripping skills are pretty balanced. It’s a “L2P” instance with each of them. Pay attention to your bar and know how to time your skills to be able to keep your boons up, or some at least, if they are getting stripped in a wvw battle. On the flip side, every class has a self condi removal. Utilize that and do not use it prematurely.
In a group setting, your group should be helping with boon adding and condi removing. That’s why builds and support are in play. It’s not just a “my skills are for me only” game especially in WvW.

I like to play mesmer and ele. Mesmers, I’m null fielding my team and the enemy every chance I get. If my team is getting heavy with condis, it goes on us. If we’re fine (and first push), it goes on the enemies or where they’re moving to for boon removal. Do I give boons? Some, yes.
Elementalist. Give and take away condis, Give boons.
Necro, give condis, boon removal, give boons, and remove condis from everyone.
Warrior, give condi, gives boons, remove condis
Thief, Guardian, Engi…you get the picture if you know anything about those classes as well.
It’s a pretty balanced system. A player just needs to know what their class does.
Stability changed just changed how long stability lasts and how it stacks instead of duration. It’s not a game changing “oh no we’re going to die!” situation, but a player just needs to change (just a little) how they think of stability.

I read this title as more of the copper, silver, gold event rewards. Then again, if WvW gets a boost PvE will get boost as well or give headaches of complaints.
I think the gold to buy upgrades, while a gold sink, is realistic. You have to pay workers to build things “irl”, why not in game? It’s not like it’s a ton of gold either especially for veteran players. Every week I hit 3g and can still do an upgrade or two, and in the beginning people would just ask in chat to receive donations or for someone else to upgrade when they cannot.

Sure guilds may have their private runs, but when there is no commander, it probably is not a bad idea to remind that it is our server’s map, not guild’s private map. We have many pugs who wishes for a commander when there is none.

Do not forget the Ctrl + T puts a target over the head of whomever you have clicked on. It can act as a tag, and I know many guild groups who run tagless using that. The guild I command for on Mondays have done it on occasions as well as on reset night.
If you have someone your server looks up to but doesnt necessarily has a tag, corresponding and organizing in map and team chat is what those chats are there for.
Guilds should always be encouraged to use the server’s voice comm, but one must remember you cannot force such a thing and that it can cause a dramatic and tense experience to try to do so.
I would also encourage the militia looking for a a tag to keep shoutouts in map chat where your group is. You guys can at least agree to go into the server’s voice comm. It is always a benefit to coordinate than to run around clueless tag or not. If the tagless guild group is not coordinating, adjust to them. There may be orange swords where they’re at or have someone follow with them to know where they’re at so the militia group can support or hit a second objective.

Everlasting Sacred Path [ESP] is a social, more laid back, adult, international guild on Tarnished Coast that has been going strong for 10 years this June. We have events every day of the week and try our hardest to keep true to being a PvX guild in members and events. I’m making this post because first, this is too much to ping in Lions Arch map chat recruiting. . .and! from something I said above, “We [] try our hardest to keep true to being a PvX guild in members and events”. While ESP has a strong core of members, we are looking to add others to that core to keep that PvX balance as well as provide a home or family for those looking.
Below in the comments will be posted what we’re looking for at that current time. However! We do welcome any and all styles of play and time zones at any time; the post is more or less the area(s) we’re lacking in at that time.

At the start, you do not have to be on Tarnished Coast server, but we do expect members to be saving gold with a plan to make the transfer as soon as possible. It is also important to add in this post that we are a majority representing guild. Personal banks and friend guilds are fine, but should not take up most of your gaming time; we expect to be the main guild in your Tyrian life.

We’ve recently had a small influx of those ‘awesome aussies’. Personally I’m focusing on finding PvP and European players to join this almost 10 year old guild, and still the extra WvW driver. Any level welcome! We have people that range from wanting to help teach the game to those who play on a higher level (who will go down levels to help others rise as well).
We’ve dived into the scrimmage/gvg scene for those interested in that as well. It brings our PvP players and WvW players together for smaller scale and in a more concentrated area. Currently working on finding a ‘guest driver’ to lead a scrimmage or two to learn off of.

Everlasting Sacred Path [ESP] is a social adult PvX international guild on Tarnished Coast that is 10 years old in June.
We do guild missions 3 times a week, have a guild event every day of the week (not mandatory but highly encouraged if you’re online), and have 260-270 members with monthly inactivity boots. We do have a majority rep requirement. It is not 100%, but we do expect to be your main guild with personal banks and friend guilds sometimes as the exceptions.
We have a bigger guild party in February, April, June (birthday party), October, and December with “witch hunts” every month and sometimes pick up event days the months we do not have a bigger party.

Everlasting Sacred Path [ESP] is a social adult PvX international guild on Tarnished Coast that is 10 years old in June. We have a WvW presence, go to reset on Fridays as well as WvW events outside of Friday reset. Just two weeks ago we started scrimmages against a guild on NSP as mock GvGs.
