That’s fantastic, but someone needs to figure out what is causing guild wars 2 to not interact with certain modems.
So, I’ve also sent this thread post to support. The response was some robotic message that I assume they cooked up without even reading my actual post, only skimming the stupid “pc cofiguration” thingy they always make you send in, stating my computer wasn’t up to spec. Which if they even took half a second to look over my presented issue, they might have caught that, my pc has -nothing- to do with the issues at hand, as I can play the game just fine on my college campus and when I plug directly into my modem.
No one has anything, then?
Same issue here man, I run off of GCI in Alaska and the game runs clean when directly plugged into the modem. Now my issues are not as severe but I do get intense ability delay and rubberbanding just a few minutes aftering logging on with a connection via router. Like most cases the game ran perfect from launch but this started to occur about 3 weeks ago and i’ve just delt with it while hoping for a fix or someone discovering a solution. I’m patient and hopeful it will be resolved, but it just really sucks cause this game gots my attention in a choke hold.
I’ve had this issue since around launch, it did go away somewhere down the line and around the Karka Event, it started up and has escalated until now where I’m getting kicked out of the game anywhere from 5 minuets, to an hour. Along with Severe lag that comes and goes. That is of course, if I even manage to get to the character select screen, or logged in, which is rare.
Please Read the Whole Post, thanks!
Alright, I’m going to keept this brief, I’m looking for anyone that might have some answers, I already know of the issues that satellite users have playing this, or honestly any mmo. That isn’t the problem.
So, I have Hughesnet, if you do not know, it is a satellite internet provider, and yes they’re sent from hell, but that is for another day. I have suffered from error 7 and severe disconnects since launch. I know for a fact that it isn’t my computer, as I can play on my colleges campus with no issues. I also am quite positive that hughesnet is not the issues as when I plug my computer directly into my Modem, I run the game relatively smoothly without errors or disconnects.
This brings me to my router, it is a Belkin F5D8235-4v3, and I generally have about three other computers plugged into it at one time. Now, a lot of my issues appear to spring up while I’m connected to this router, so my question is, can I fix this somehow? I have forwarded my ports, and I’ve even tried to use the port 80 force client launcher, though that never allows me to even log in.
If anyone has -any- idea of what in the world is going on, I would be forever in your debt.

Hi everyone – Same problem here. Log-in to the game for a few minutes…maybe up to 15 minutes. Sometimes I can do an entire dungeon run (with lags and scary moments where it may DC but pushes through) but then it DCs and I get this connections error message. This started happening around the lost shores update and got really bad on Thanksgiving Day (11/22/12). Now I can barely stay connected. I tried turning off my anti-virus and firewall to no avail.
Not sure what happened; I bought this game end of September/October and things have been perfect until mid-Nov. Log-in and play was very quick, easy and almost instant. Now things seem to take forever to upload and then DC. My computer is no different since then (no new software installed or hardware – purely for GW2 gaming). I do play League of Legends (started playing it more since GW2 isnt working) and that works fine. Not sure whats going.
Yep, I thought they managed to get rid of this problem, but as of the Lost Shores Update, it’s back. And just like you, it was really bad on thanksgiving and has been snowballing until today where I can’t even log on. Sadly, every time I speak to customer service, they blame something else besides the game.
Edit: Oh, I should probably mention that on my current setup, I’ve played games like Perfect world, Tera, WoW, LoL, and quite a few other MMO’s and never encountered an issue like this. So it’s clearly not my internet/routers fault.

Hey-o, fellow role-player here. There are two unofficial Role-play servers. Piken Square(Europe) and Tarnished Coast(US), there’s honestly role-play all over the servers, but there are some heavy concentrations on both servers in cities like Divinities Reach.
Edit: Check this website out, it’s essentially the HQ for most role-players in Guild Wars 2

Ah’! That does make some sense, thanks for the answer. Anyone else with an answer is welcome to add their input.
Hey-o,
Can anyone explain to me what signets are in lore? Are they magically enhanced jewelry? Stones? Symbols?!
I under stand what a signet is in the real world, a seal of some sort. I’ve seen them brought up a few times in NPC conversations, but only vaguely. I as a role-play, am quite curious how these things function in the world of Tyria, if anyone has a valid explanation. I’d love to hear it! (Would love an Anet Employee to post if this hasn’t been brought up before.)
Thanks again!
Alright, how many of you have more then 4 friends on your friend list?
I’m not sure about everyone else, but I happen to have quite a few friends that play, and on my friend list. Parties sadly just don’t work, because usually my friends are chilling out as a group, and doing things together in the same zone. Unfortunatly, for being as social as Guild Wars is, not being able to locate where your friends are in the world of Tyria can be a ’tad frustrating.
Thus, I would love to see the ability of seeing your friends as dots on your map/mini-map.
Obviously, not everyone will want others to see where they are at all times, but that could easily be fixed with giving us the ability to choose if we wanted others to see us on the map or not.
This is one of the coolest ideas I’ve seen on the Subject of DE’s, it would make things so much more interesting and allow us to see different parts to the events. I will say that not every event appears to have a failure event. Such as the group of children in Garrenden Fields where you must escort them to their “treasure” Of course, if I’m wrong, please correct me. I still think it’s a fantastic idea, just maybe not implemented into EVERY event.
Could New Builds be causing error 7 to occur?

Alright, I’ve been having the error code 7:11:3:189:101 on and off for the past few weeks. I do use a 64 bit pc. My question is, during the few days there was no new build, I did not recieve this error more then maybe once or twice a day. Now with the new build, I’m not even making it to the log-in screen once more.
I really am puzzled by this.

Netflix streams videos, that’s far more data then any mmo ever will. I play on a fixed data usage internet myself, I hardly notice any loss with it.
Is it strange that I haven’t gotten this error once today? The days before it was nearly every hour, if I were lucky….oh, what a day.
Btw, congrats on the trailer Anet.
I’m in the Good ole’ USA, getting dced in all sorts of random places, particularly when I go to map transfer.
Every time I transfer to a new map(If it doesn’t give me error 7 as I log in) I get disconnected. :S What’s going on?
Game is still crashing uncontrollably….is there any word on a fix?
Launcher all of a sudden won't connect to internet, or even re-install the game.

I’ve been getting something similar. I can play the game, early in the day with few issues. Around 4pm Eastern time, NA, I get error 7, and then the client crashes. After that, it won’t let me log in, saying there was an error with my internet connection. I then have to fight it for the next 20 mins, to get the character screen, this usually ends with me loading a character only to get error 7 once more.
Very frustrating. :S
I think I might be having this sort of issue as well, this never really occurred during the beta’s….very strange, I hope they’re looking into all these crashes. The worst part for me is that after the crash, it won’t let me log back in.
Is there any word over these crashing errors? I’m at a loss in the last few days, I’ve hardly been able to play, it seems like they get worse during peek hours of game-play.
I would like to agree that there should be a bit more reward for the players choosing to play support.
Hey-o popping in to state an issue with one particular story mode quest. I’m just going to use quotes from some other guys, as they said it as well as I could have.
“I just completed th personal story Rumors of Trouble and have to say it is very hard compared to others especially for a lvl 11 mission. I was able to complete it through taking out as many imps as possible right after the cutscene while my npc’s were still alive.
When they all started coming after me i used the lodge to keep them from facerolling me to death. Then it was easy from there, but the thing was I died like 5 times before I was able to get it right and i was lvl 16 before I started it. I enjoyed the challenge, trying to figure out what skills would work for this particular mission but overall I think there is something a tad off and needs a little tweak to it since the fighting does happen while your stuck in cutscene and you can’t stop it."
On top of that I’d like to share my experience.
I was playing a thief, to note the mobs would literally gank you(All nine) when you went from the check point and spam their AOE while your npcs lay on the ground dead(oh and there’s about four? waves of this). I’ve had a few “challenging” quests. I enjoy a challenge, I do not enjoy near impossibility.
I’m not here to whine about challenging quests, I enjoy challenges, this one just needs a few tweaks.
