So far from what I’ve tested, there seems to be a cool down for it. Roughly 15-20 seconds. Favoring the 20 second one.

I tested with Eagle Lacerating Slash since it has like a 6 second cool down and I was hoping for a heal every 6 seconds haha.

It also scales off of your healing, not your pets. At 777 Healing, it heals you and allies in small area for 1,871. Not sure what the limit for the heal is on targets.

Not sure I like it yet, but would be interesting to see a BM Bunker or something use it. I want to play around with this trait for a while.

Or main hand pistol…I’d love to have clones with Quip. Imagine how annoying you could be to your opponent

No seriously, this buff to The Prestige is so good. Makes it less clunky and now you can actually dodge roll and do other things and not interrupt your stealth or aoe burn proc now.

Now if only I could find a better torch skin. Using “Ambrosia” for my focus skin makes me lean a little more toward having my beer mug focus instead of the torch "/

I for one am actually very happy with The Prestige buff.

In all honestly, I had fun this week, and even got to pop my commander tag and practice commanding I probably made mistakes but I still think the best way to learn is to get get wrecked and question what you could have done better.

Kain has some pretty impressive guilds out there, one I’d like to mention was RUN when I finally ran into a good group of them. I enjoyed fighting those small man teams from RUN MEOW I still question because they portal bombed with 20-25 people to bomb two of us just sitting in open field. I guess good practice .__. WM is WM :P

Dragonbrand, I still love you guys for always being a good match for Maguuma in whatever tier we fight. :P

I learned a lot of things this week like even more siege placement, tactics, and good group synergy that I’d like to experiment with my guild sometime. Good luck to Kain in the higher tier and hopefully they have a population coverage that can match yours. In all honesty, although a bit morale breaking, a lot of the core WvW players got to do more of the alamo’s we were used to vs some of the other huge servers. Dragonbrand, without Kain breathing down our backs at night, we’ll be ready for you :P

Grats to kain for finally breaking the garrison alamo on Mag BL. Sadly we only had 10 people left by that time, but nevertheless we had a good time holding out

In all honestly, population imbalance will continually screw with all the tiers, and maybe for a couple weeks more after the rating reset. Until the tiers settle, we can only hope where we end up will be a good balanced population. One like the old DH/Mag/DB match up where many people came to join in because it was a good fight. DB/Mag seem to be a good match whenever they come together in a match up. YB/Mag/DB was a fun match up as well.

Currently, Kain’s night crew is so impressively large that it dwarfs Dragonbrands, which I used to think was large. A lot of Mag’s night crew are those who don’t sleep till 3/4 AM in the morning holding out until the morning breaks.

What I’m saying is you can’t deny the importance of population on a match up. Waking up in the morning to defend a fully upgraded borderlands versus having to build your borderlands from scratch are very different. This also highly affects how soon we can move on the offensive and in turn affects when we can take the lead in the PTT.

Getting off the ground with the mesmer is one of the hardest things. Once you hit around Level 40 is when most people begin to see change due to having access to your 2nd tier traits. If you’re having trouble with survivability, staff an amazing option to take as well

I for one started as a ranger but shifted my main to mesmer as I am a very active WvWer. I however when I picked up spvp again, I fell in love with my ranger again, swinging and doing wildly around with sword/dag + great sword tanking more than most can throw at me while mesmer will be my main in WvW (until maybe some ranger changes), ranger has a special place in my heart and my favorite fighter in the mists

Imo, a mesmer should always adapt to the situation so I carry every weapon minus scepter. Staff 2 is one of the best moves we have as it is an instant skill. You can be knocked down and still use it plus generate a clone. Focus and GS on the other hand is what I learned to have handy if you ever decide to fight where terrain and falling is a factor (jump puzzle fights are prime example :0)

As for under water combat, mesmers are some of the t and your build doesn’t matter as much down there as we can utilize any build under water, although stealth builds are a bit weaker there. But we are pretty much the class with the most underwater stealth right now so that’s a plus.

I’m am pretty curious if there’s other mesmer groups out there :O

Maybe one day we should all make mesmers that look the same and run around a main city

Guilds are amazing at getting you to log on My guild is my home inside the game and I love all the members xD I’m glad you found a great guild.

On a side note, if you’re still having trouble on testing a class on full potential without having to level up, try bringing the class into spvp. You automatically get level 80 and access to all traits and skills and any weapon set you want. Great way to learn a new class

Well, consider it training to get into the order of whispers xD gotta learn how to sneak past everything :P that or ask someone to escort you. It helps a lot. The buddy system goes a long way.

It seems fractals drops armegeddon set pretty commonly. I’ve gotten the heavy piece and my guild just got a light mask

WvW has been my main entertainment and leveling method of choice. I would get my char to maybe about 10 or 20 from PvE then do WvW. If you have an active guild it helps keep things lively. Me and my guild grew up in WvW and if you’re in a good match, it’s highly engaging and different leveling in it. Playing against other players brings a dynamic to you leveling experience that PvE doesn’t

My biggest suggestion to getting into the game though is joining an active guild. It makes you have a home to come to in GW. Just do things with them and before you know it you’ll be 80 in no time

The Alliance that has been under development has been kept under wraps until we were ready with enough organization to be announced. We figured a good way to announce it to the public would be with a basic event like a training so it can be beneficial to everyone

We had planned to make our big appearance when we returned to Tier 4, but it was overshadowed by our massive transfers >.<

PvX stands for Player versus anything.
PvE + PvP + PvW = PvX

Just say you’re a player who would like to find a nice PvX guild that is very social and likes to have fun. Just be sincere about what kind of guild you’re looking for.

As for your question about active guilds, its hard to know unless if you see them in person.

I agree with Jacen, in the fact you may have not joined the fight guild for you. Usually you may want a small to medium sized guild with maybe 10-30 active players if you wish to truly get to know and have fun growing with your guild. Just look for a guild that seems to be what you’re looking for, it sounds like you’re a PvE focused player so you may want to look for PvE or PvX guilds. My guild is PvW+X, we’re pretty WvW based but we are well rounded

Hey guys, just trying to post this in advance, for January 17th, NOVA would like to host a fight night at 9 PM PST. I would support this idea. Usually in the BLs I hesitate to even get this upgrade if I don’t plan on fully upgrading the camp. But I do find it pretty ridiculous you need a 3:1 ratio of defenders to attacks to keep a yak safe. We literally had a team of 5 players and couldn’t stop a d/d ele and a thief from simply taking it from us.

What in the hell is going on? I see some fellow maguumans demanding for Cox. I wish I could get online to figure out this fuss for Cox. Or could someone enlighten me?

It’s rather amazing how blatantly some players have so openly turned to hacking for their jollies. I came across two of them last night in EB that not only couldn’t be killed … they never even lost health points. The first hacker was an ele who held off three of us at the same time, eventually killing two of us and almost killing the third (who finally escaped into a keep after it was obvious this was not a fair fight). The battle lasted several minutes and the hacker only dropped about 5% in HP for a brief moment once that entire time … the rest of the time he was at full health.

The second hacker was just standing near the cliff on the OL side of the hill between OL and Anz. I and a guild mate saw him there and went after him, at which point he jumped off the cliff. He landed near a third server mate who started fighting him, so I and my guild mate jumped down as well from a slightly lower height. We both instantly died from the fall. I had over 19K health and died, while the enemy fell from a higher height and never took ANY damage at all.

Both of these players were out solo in fairly isolated areas that weren’t even being contested at the time. They pretty obviously weren’t acting on behalf of their server so there’s no point in identifying it, but it’s pretty clear that there are some god-mode client-side hacks out there that pretty much ruin things for everyone.

1) I’m just wondering…was the first person you fought a Dagger/Dagger ele? If so that would explain the 1v3 situation where that person wouldn’t die or regen faster than he was taking damage. Would also make more sense if you and or your teammates weren’t actually on level 80 chars. Dagger/Dagger eles have some of the highest survivability, regen, mobility and dueling ability in the game. Lots of posts were made about Ele’s hacking, but if you’re upleveled and fighting a D/D Ele for the first time, its understandable. Keep an eye out for the usual opener of a lightning rush, into updraft, burning speed into flame circle + fire grab, earth knock down then churning earth move.

2)First of all, I’d like to mention for the jumping off the cliff situation, your Total Health Does Not Matter. Falling damage is percentage damage. I could be in a golem suit with 100k+ hp and drop from the same height as a glass cannon thief with 11k HP that would bring him down to half, and the golem suit would also be brought to half. Also, if was a necro….necros can pretty much jump from any height and not take a single bit of damage.

If your situation did not match either of these, then it may have been a hacker so next time try and make sure you have a button ready for screenshot to report.

Just watched your latest video and checked out your traits and must say that survivability is so high. When I’m not running the shattercat build, Ive been toying around with a high survivability build with almost the same trait set mainly focusing on Prismatic Understanding + Deceptive Evasion. I love to be able to stealth to drop targeting and then make a clone or two pop up out of no where to confuse my opponent and unstealth out of sight to assess the situation.

I’ve been working with soldier gear w/centaur for this set, but now I think I may have to invest in knights after checking this out xD I would also like to ask, did you buy or farm/craft your own triforge pendant. Those cost quite a pretty penny

This thread reminds me of crystal desert/mag/ebay threads. The other servers complaining about how CD only zergs.

It’s the uneven match ups that screws everyone over. If DR or BP think our night crew is large wait till you see Dragonbrand. It’s literally the dragon that sleeps in the day and comes out roaring at night. A lot of us who have been on Maguuma have learned to embrace the outmanned buff. I honesty don’t like being the green server.

What I’m saying is sure it looks bleak vs more numbers and coverage you just got to learn to embrace it. I always think the best way to get better is to get your kitten kicked and ask yourself why. Gather up your troops and get them into shape because welcome to the breaking point of the tiers. Maguuma have been the guardians of the gate to the higher tiers for forever. Bring your a-game like you did last week on reset because that’s what gave a good number of us a thinking that you guys were quite a force to be reckoned with. We’ll be ready and waiting for ya

So, basicly Im kind of new. This is my 1st lvl 80 in GW2. I know that mesmer sucks and it’s a waste to have it as a main but I do not plan to make another character as I enjoy it as it is.

I main mesmer and it is most definitely not a waste If you plan on joining WvW (where I spend majority of my time), mesmers are very valuable for the portals. Mesmers have some of the most powerful team skills and elites especially in Time Warp/Mass Invis. My guild for some reason has a higher ratio of mesmers and necros than most other classes.

If you want to see some powerful burst, check out Shatter Cat build by Osicat https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/mesmer/guide-WvWvW-Shatter-cat/first and look at some of his videos.

And if by the off chance you’re on Maguuma server, there is a huge guild dedicated to all the mesmers on the server and trainings are held around once a week for basic/veteran/advanced tactics for mesmers.

For gear, I personally sport order of whisper gear transmuted over my exotics so take a look at that if you choose order of whispers in your story. I also like my Invader’s Hood (From wvw) + Winged Pants + Student Robe set. Of course, dungeon gear sets usually look nice but i’m too lazy to grind for those.

For 100%, you ONLY need it if you want to get your Legendary weapon, which is a whole different beast in itself. Plus in WvW, your clones won’t have your 100% completion star so anyone who is paying attention can figure out the real you no problem.

Theres a lot you can do with mesmer so do some research and you shouldn’t be disappointed with your class choice Welcome to the team!

I have a lot of respect for SM as Ebays. When ever we fought Ebay, whenever I saw an SM member I always prepared to have a hard time in the near future. They’re great at their response time and fighting skills and tactics, and were very annoying when we had to fight them. Got to see them in action over the past few days and its nice to finally be able to put names to old opponents. They also know how to have fun and party from what I’ve seen so I do hope they stay here in Maguuma

BP put up an amazing defense to hold BP Garrison for so long in the past couple hours. Lots of good fights and true siege warfare.

Yeah must have been hard to kill 5 of us with 12+ NOVA members and a bunch of yak helping you too. You can have the handicap. =P

The 12+ NOVA members were 6 of us. 3 Necros, 3 Mesmers. All while trying not to hit the poor yak who decided to jump into the fray. Sadly, the necro wells got to him. The Yaks who were there just waited till the action was over then proceeded to do the jump puzzle.

I did a double take when I saw DR and BP. Not that match up I expected, but I’m excited to see what these two servers will be bringing to the match up in Tier 5. I’m especially happy to see Devona’s Rest rise from Tier 8 to 5 as that was my first server when I was still leveling and didn’t WvW Massive props to the original crew who stayed and congrats on the rise up the ranks!

I was the NOVA asuran mesmer that kept on waving and proceeding to poke you guys. Much respect for not attacking me when I went into Ram form and letting me watch you guys do work on my fellow Maguumans and Ebays alike.
