I am curious if anyone knows if CoF was always this easy, or if something was changed (a while ago) to make it the way it is.
I know when I started playing Gw2 in January AC was the place to be, it was also my first armor set. But after they made the changes I couldn’t participate anymore because it no longer was a ‘level 35’ dungeon… I tried running AC the other day with a full party of 80 and they ended up quitting.
This happened before the whole Megaboss Daily Chest and I assumed that problem went away.
I don’t see how this would be too hard to implement as they have this option for WvW, in this case you should have an option to: Wait for Overflow or Travel anyways.
Yeah, I think this would be really cool, especially if there was something similar in GW1 and it wouldn’t be too much of a problem.

I don’t know if dev’s (or anyone really) are still reading this forum. At first I thought that the pick had the same kind of animation as the previous ones (or lack thereof). But I just watched a youtube video of it and I must say I totally changed my opinion of it. If there were a legendary equivilant of a pick axe, this would be it and for the animation alone I don’t mind spending the gold.
The only arguments I heard before were that it would take forever to make your money back, and that it was convienet because you would never have to buy more. But say really cool Molten Skin and you have my attention =P

I can see what your saying, even if we were talking about small guilds, the leaders can just change their activation status to whatever suits the guild so it would be a good feature.
I hate to bump this but this person posted a bunch of times within a couple minutes with different links to FB and an external link (which were in a different language). It’s in no way related to GW2, just spam.

I agree this would be a great feature, especially for WvW
I want my quiver too, the only difference is when I plan on activly persuing it I don’t mind doing Fractals for it. I like the way that they incorporate different areas of the game into getting an item (such as legendaries).
Since all Acended backpieces use the formula which you either need the [1 Vial of Condensed Mists Essence] (assuming your crafting with the mats) then I think it is fair. One of the main reasons which Acended gear is used is for the Agony Resistance which you need in Fractals.
If you are not running Fractals then I don’t think you should be this upset with not having the backpiece ASAP.
And hey, I WANT MY LEGENDARY WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING!!!! but we can’t all get what we want.

Since I am waiting to start FotM until after I craft my legendary I need an alternative way to get Acended gear right now. So far I have two pieces and I will be getting my 3rd next week. I usually never skip on doing my daily unless I am doing something irl. And unless I happen to finish a lot of the dailies that particular day in PvE, I will do the PvP daily which is a bit more interesting than going around gathering stuff.
When I finish my Acended pieces I will still do them in hopes they will release other cool stuff to buy with laurels.

Farming a dungeon for hours because it’s the only (easy) way to get gold… Guaranteed my optinion will change at the end of the month when the difficulty of acquiring gold will be greatly increased.
This would be a good idea. I think getting all equipment is generally easy, up to legendary.. If they had some one time use thing that cost a significant (but not too significant XD) amount of gems to make legendary items Account bound, but soul bound on use then it would make leveling an alt that would use that same legendary far more worth while.
I believe that they are going to (sometime in the future) make a dueling feature. The fists would be interesting, but should probably do very little damage… maybe get some boxing gloves? XD
I think that there should be a system (maybe like the dailies?) where you can either manually, or automatically check off which World Boss you have finished for the day. I have a white board at home which I sometimes use, but other times I forget and end up killing a world boss twice in a day and end up with no chest.
This would be a great organization tool as I have seen many other people wondering why no chest shows up only to realize that they have already done it that day.

I agree that there should be a warning, I was lucky enough to ask my guild before buying them, because as an offensive player I would buy two offensive pieces, but I learned you can only buy one or the other.
I find that with a lot of things in this game I have to do lots of research before committing to any big purchase.

So this thread is not about my repair bill, which is completely fine – but I was was wondering how damage to armor is acquired?
Yesterday I learned that you cannot take damage from being attacked from something but only if you become downed or die. There was also something said about being downed and falling makes you take damage. And that if you get downed and use vengence [warriors] you don’t take damage.
Could someone clear this up for me – also let me know if the things I heard were true. It’s not something I regulary think about but would be good to keep in mind.
I sympathize with the OP. It’s a crappy thing to have happen to you. Usually, for an update, there’s some sort of warning. At least I usually get one. If the OP didn’t, or if the game somehow crashed on him and he missed out, that’s a lousy feeling. It would kitten anyone off.
For what it’s worth (which is nothing at all) you have my sympathies OP.

From what i gather, the time shaved off per run with this “maximum efficiency” is a few seconds to sseveral minutes. However these are people farming for gold usually and will do runs many times, so collectively the small amount adds up significantly in the end. I don’t really like it but this is my understanding of it. So it’s tough when people who want fun, to learn and explore stuff, gets mixed up with ppl like this because what they’re doing is more like a serious job than playing a game.
I must admit that I am one of those Zerk Warrior’s that look for zerk warriors or thiefs with a mesmer that are elitests in CoF, while I do look for experienced players, I wouldn’t ever kick someone for being a bit slow.. I think thats crazy. As I am farming up for my legendary, I farm CoF for hours so being in a group that takes 15 minutes to clear a dungeon that usually takes 6 – 10 minutes its not something I am interested in right now. That being said I do participate in guild runs with any class for fun.
I don’t think anyone should be offended if they get kicked from an elitest group, it’s not about you or what the player is capable of, its about the toon and the stats. Also, if you don’t read the post before you join, then you shouldn’t be offended if the group kicks you.
1) I love the way the Sunrise skin it, really cool (and will totally match my pink Charr outfit =P)
2) Right now I am in the process of making it, I have everything except the Charged Loadstones, Precursor, and the Icy Runestones. Everything else wasn’t very hard to get, but these things, that you (basically) have to farm huge amounts of gold to get are, as Fletch^ says, wearysome. And having to farm 100 gold, or wait until I have enough gold or until I find a precursor.
3) Hardest part, refer to #2, but basically Precursor unless I become lucy and the six gods drop them into a chest for me.
5) So far about 2 months proactively trying for it.
6) I may go for another one, but the only one I really like is the Staff (rainbows) but none of my characters use a staff. So maybe if they get some new ones, I would love to see another axe skin.
Buy all the mats (constantly) on the tp and make everyone farm them like in the good ol’ days.
Just start saving for your second legendary… maye the time you have saved 500 – 700 gold you will get a precursor drop >.>
P.s. I am still waiting for a precursor with almost all the reset of the Mats (besides the kitten Charged Lodestones)

I can understsand where you are coming from. Good thing for me is that when I log on my friends instantly message me saying hey and stuff, I can’t imagine how annoying it would be if someone who you didn’t want messaging you did.
Hopefully Anet can make your experience more positive by changing the security options.
I always wondered if the 10 clover recipe would work in my favour for my T6 Mats, but never got around to doing the math and now have bought most of my T6 Mats.
When I was getting my clovers I remembered getting them really quickly though so unless I were saving up for another legendary (which wont be happening for a while) the clovers would be completely useless to me (and I should instead use the gold to outright buy the mats).
So I figured I would farm away at certain dungeons and use the tokens (exotic weapons) to throw into the forge in hopes for a precursor.

The moderator closed the thread, but in the end we were still unsure of the answer.
To quote Healix.5819, the issue which still remains is:
“It may be possible that there both is and isn’t a cap at 100. For example, if it’s a simple check to only reward laurels if you have less than 100, then the monthly could bypass it, allowing you to gain 99+10 laurels maximum.
To confirm a cap or not, someone with 100+ laurels would have to complete a daily.”

I hate to comment on this because it’s just going to bump it, but honestly it was a bug.. a MISTAKE. They fixed it and now everyone is still complaining.
What if a vendor was giving away free items instead of making people pay for them. In a day a bunch of people got some free stuff and then Anet decided to fix this. Now everyone is crying because they didn’t get to exploit the game while the the bug was around.

I just wanted to add something to the whole afk’ing to bosses. Anet is actually doing a pretty good job at listening to the discussions and changing the boss’s difficulty. Think about Jormag a month ago and now, pretty big difference. Of course there is still Shatterer and Shadow Behemoth but I have a strong feeling Anet will eventually make them more interesting instead of standing there and watching their health ‘melt’.
I have never played ‘the game that shall not be named’ so can’t contribute there XD

Yeah thats a good idea, I didn’ know map completion was only for legendaries.
And all the grind that I am putting into making a legendary I’m sure most others wouldn’t even consider.
What bothers me is this “New build available in an hour or so”. Just say 30 minutes since that’s what you meant anyway. That “hour OR SO” is just to annoy anybody trying to do events.

My bf was in Fractals and got the 1 hour popup,.. of course when he got to Maw 30 minutes later he had 2 minutes before he was going to kicked.
At the same time we were at the end of our guild bounty event and it came up.
I don’t mind patches at all, but PLEASE try to give an accurate time, or at least say that it is an estimate or something.

Become a fashionista and look at all the armor and find one that you like, and get it.
Level an alt; you might enjoy the change.
Create a guild.
For myself, when I get my legendary I will be looking into Fractals and becoming dungeon master. Also all the other acheievements. New acended stuff in the future will be a good goal too.

lol not really….you must be on the cool server where everyone in lions arch has a legendary (jokes) but really no…not everyone has a legendary and not everyone has a precursor. you act as if it was THAT easy to get, which it’s not.
I think you miss read his statement…yes, not everyone has a legendary. I think he was just exaggerating a bit, ok a lot.
About the precursor, I think he was trying to say that a lot of people are only missing the precursor…which if you read a lot of post is true for a lot of people…like me.
This is kind of off subject now but I think he was saying:
Everyone either has a legendary or their are [only] missing the precursor.
I bought the game two months ago and I am now extremely close to getting a legendary, I haven’t started throwing many rares or exotics into the forge yet, but you guys are making me worry about the precursor!

I am admittedly new to MMORPGS so I was wondering what other people thought about implementing a key binding which would allow you to look back to see what was behind you.
Thinking about WvW I am always nervous (with a small side of adrenaline) if someone/ group is right behind me ready to pounce. Obviously not a big concern but besides WvW, sometimes I pull agro from things and can get immobalized and before realizing it there is an ooze ontop of me headbutting away.
Of course I can (and do) manually turn the camera around to see around me, I was just wondering what people thought about having a button to instantly look back.
