Sometimes it doesn’t matter how you phrase a question. Rude people will always be rude.

Most of the time I am lucky and people are really nice ingame. But sometimes I am asking something(very nicely, really!) and someone rude gives a mean answer.

But luckily, most of the players are really nice and we can just ignore the few rude ones.

I like flashy stuff – but only if it somehow fits into Tyria!

The raven glider fits Norns really well (become the raven), the geomancer glider fits perfectly for elementalists etc.

But I really hate the SAB glider. Oh, and the dreamer bow! Those two are just over the top and don’t fit into Tyria really well in my opionion.

The SAB is a funny event that you can choose to participate in or just ignore it. WHY would they bring that kitten glider outside of the SAB world and into Tyria?! Argh >_<

I love to play with all sounds on but I wish I could mute only those two things.

It’s a pity that we can’t dye that glider. It would be great if they would allow us to dye this skin

I went there to do the diving goggles thing for the achievement, and was fully determined to do it myself, made it maybe half away and some kind soul fell from the heavens and ported me up, and explained to me how to do the diving goggles (since it can definitely fail).

Basically what I’m saying is, get someone else to do it for you.

I just found a kind soul who helped me. It took maybe 1 minute for me to do the jump with the diving goggles right. I am so glad someone helped me. When I tried to do it alone it was very frustrating.

Meta is the current best way to play the game. There are builds for your class that are Meta and although there room to change them a little you cant go away from core concept.
For example using guardians and running the trait that increases damage with retaliation.
You could almost say most classes have a gimmick and revolving you build around it is key.

Freaking HOT was bad because of the map navigation. Some people call that challenging others say its annoying. It comes down to what the person thinks it means. I myself like challenging content not bad map design which HOT was to me. I hated the game everytime i went on that map. And it changed the players attitude toward each other to be more selfish. GW2 was a really great game with a equally great community and HOT even changed that.

People just like different things it seems. I LOVED the maps in HoT. I had so much fun exploring everything and finding my way through those maps. One of the most enjoyable things for me is exploring the world in GW2. And the multilayered maps were awesome! Gimme more!

I hope they will add more dye options and skins. I would pay for different skins!

Here’s the thing. While I get the responses by people, the op’s voice speaks for many of the casual players who left this game. Remember the casuals make up the overwhelming majority of this game. I have seen, read about, and heard this comment over and over again and it really is a valid point.

That’s why I say: Don’t change the difficulty. But give us noobs the option to hire henchman who will help us if we need it. That way everyone can be happy and gets what he wants.

I feel the same. I am in love with the mounts. I wasn’t a huge fan of the raptor(I like cute things and thought the raptor isnt’ cute. Don’t judge! xD). But after riding the raptor and seeing the animation and the idle animation…I was wrong! Even the raptor ist awesome and totally cute! The movement of the raptor feels so real! And it seems like the raptor has his own mind and isn’t just a prop. I can’t wait to see the other mounts in action

Here are some tips from when I started first playing the game and was terrible at pve.

(1) If you are at around 1/4 health, just run away and gain some health back. If the bad guy follows, keep running and don’t run into the fire. If playing necromancer, use staff and set wells down as you run, it will apply conditions and drain their health (slowly but it will). The one main lionguard charr doesn’t go down so he will keep attacking which should take the bad guys off of you (until the village but even then they are attacking the villagers).

(2) Take your time if your having trouble. Don’t try to rush through the instance and hang back if you need to.

(3) Don’t get angry or annoyed if you die, just get up, breathe, and go back into the fight. Chances are you took down some of those 20 before you died and now the numbers are reduced so just keep chipping away.

(4) Also you can get out of the instance and grab a person or 2 to help you. You should have at least four people you’re used to working with from medium to high fractals. If your in a guild, you can ask them for help as well.

I am really bad at fighting. I am a scaredycat and feel overwhelmed really fast during fights. That’s why I only play PvE.

Mudplubs tips all make sense and helped me a lot in the past. I was able to complete most of the storyline alone, just because I didn’t give up and was really patient(with a lot of swearing and shouting, but whatever…)

But I still have a problem with tip number 4. I am painfully shy. It’s very hard for me to find others who are willing to help me. I wish I could finally complete the whole storyline, but it’s so hard to do alone. The lfg tool is useless most of the time.

Today I was lucky and finally found someone who helped me with S2 Epidsode 8, the mystery cave. But it took me awhile to find someone. I was so thankful for the assistance, that I gave that person 1 gold. I wish I could’ve done it without help, but for me it’s simply not possible. I am not that good. And like I said, I get scared really easily. That dragon was so scary, holy moly! xD

I wish we could have useful, helpful NPCs/henchman if we need the help. I don’t want to bother others. I don’t want to search for help and feel awful just because I wasn’t able to find someone that day. I don’t think they should change the difficulty. Because I think most players are rather good and able to defeat those monsters easily. But I wish people like me could choose to hire henchman to make playing the story solo a little bit easier.

That aside…even I found the story mission in the PoF preview rather easy. That says a lot! xD

I liked the PoF demo and I am excited for the release.

Personally I couldn’t disagree more. Love the mounts, they feel like another creature as they should, the mounting/dismounting is smooth and crisp and movement might take a little getting used to, but I found it surprising how easy it was to get a grip on.

I love the controls of the raptors. Yes, they aren’t as fast and responsive as the mounts in WoW, but they feel good, they feel realistic, like you’re actually riding a raptor, and after getting used to that it becomes rather intuitive and nice to ride and control the raptor. It feels good and it feels real, it feels like the raptor has weight, in contrary to te mounts in WoW which feel like they are made out of air and are walking/flying in a vacuum.

Being someone who hasn’t raided previously in GW2, I’d like to get into it. But honestly the vibe I have gotten across the board has been that its pretty much out of the question unless you are lucky enough to find a “training” group. I looked in LFG and it was pretty much only wanting exp players.

Am I missing that much if I don’t get to experience raiding?

My main gripe is about raids is the same as dungeons and fractals. To many high strung types are drawn to them. ANet seems to go out of their way to lock content and rewards behind forced multi-player instances because they assume everyone wants or should to be social. PvE is about as social as many people want to be. Going into pressure cooker instances is very stressful for some people like myself. Plus there is finding people to join a group when your ready to play.

It’s easy for some people to say that you don’t have to do it but if you want specific achievements, unlocks or rewards it’s your only choice.

I unfortunately have had to do Ascalonian Catacombs so I can get Ascalonian Tears to make the Nightfury Skin. My experiences haven’t been the best.

I really wish ANet would give us a version of heroes (controlled NPCs) like GW1 that we can use for dungeons and raids. You could fill the player slots with real players or heroes. If we could use our own characters for the hero slots we could equip and build them to our needs.

Dungeons, fractals and raids are a nightmare for me. I try to avoid them as much as possible. I am not good at playing, but I always give my best and try to be helpful. But that’s not good enough for people and if I make just one tiny mistake they’ll kick me out as fast as possible and don’t give me chance.

I still need to find the fractal spoon for the mastery point. I hate it. Finding a group is difficult enough…but finding a nice group…sigh… :< And when I finally find a group I am really scared to play and make a mistake. It’s so stressful. I like PvE the most, because people there are nice and relaxed and no one gets angry if you make a mistake ._.

I am a casual too.

Even though I don’t play very often I was able to get enough mastery points relatively fast. I will not get all of them at the moment because some of them are just too difficult or time consuming for me, but that’s ok. I still got enough points for the most important masteries.

Navigating the new maps is always exciting and fun. I have zero sense of direction. And I was still able to find my way through the maps. Getting lost in the jungle adds to the exciting and authentic feeling of that place.

Oh, and I am really really bad at fighting. And even I was able to somehow survive the monsters in the new locations(most of the time) xD So really…if even I am able to navigate through the jungle and survive those monsters, then I don’t know what you’re doing wrong. I really suck at playing and even I was able to enjoy the game so far xD

Ikr! Firebrand seems to give us more control in our condition output. So i’m guessing it will be a good condition dps spec. I enjoyed the bow on DH too, but if firebrand will be good, then i can easily make that swap.

I like the mastery system, but some achievements are really hard to get for me. I love to play games, but I am not really good unfortunately. I still haven’t earned all mastery points needed and now I am stuck…sigh.

And I hate some of the achievements with passion. Like the spoon achievement. I HATE Fractals of the Mists and try to avoid playing that. It’s hard for casual players like me to find a nice group there sometimes. But because of the achievement I tried my best and visited the Fractals of the Mists a lot of times and I still haven’t got the stupid spoon. Just gimme the spoon! After hours playing there I still haven’t found one :<

I can’t wait to hear the new soundtrack. The previous ones were amazing.

I HATE the wonderland jumping puzzle! A few times I was almost at the top and then the kittening jp got reset?! Are you kidding me? I just want to complete the friggin’ jp for winter’s presence.

Not only is the kitten jp buggy as hell. NO! When we’re almost at the top we get teleported to the start again…or kicked out of the jp event completely.

I thought holiday events should be fun. But this jp is not fun at all. I am really frustrated.

Thanks for this thread, zzled. I feel the same. The happy feeling I got because we all defeated the ancient karka dissappeared rather fast after everyone posted about their rewards. My rewards were so disappointing, it’s not even funny anymore(light and medium armor for my Guardian. Haha.) :(

I stayed awake really long for this event. Then I get the stuff from the chest and think “Wow, useless armor again. Light armor, medium…hello? I am a guardian. Are you joking?” But THEN people started to post what THEY got…so many people got precursors! That’s when I felt really unlucky. This event leaves a bitter taste.

And I don’t even want to think about all those people who couldn’t participate because of rl, login problems or because they got kicked out of the event! D:

- speak to the Hylek Alchemist Gukumatz in Metrica Province and help
- fight against the Largo
- Inspector Ellen Kiel’s scavenger hunt
- the new Dungeon Fractals of the Mists in Lion’s Arch
- Donating things for Commendations
- fighting against karkas in Caledon Forest (in Morgans Spiral) and Kessex Hills(in Garrenhof)

What else is there to do right now until the next part of the Lost Shores event starts?

I am happy that they added a PVP daily and PVP monthly. Now it would be really nice if they could put the WvW achievement from the normal monthly into the PVP monthly too…I think it’s a little bit bothersome to have pvp requirements in both monthly achievements and they should seperate them complety….one pve/random, one pvp.

Could someone please give us more information about the length of time for this event chain? 2 hours? 3 hours? 20 hours? Please…give us a more detailed information. If you can’t tell us exactly how many hours it will take, then guessing would be ok for me too. But please tell us at least something better than “multiple hours”…that could be any amount of hours!
