GWAMM & CotG
[HERO] – Star Leader – Black Gate
If this thing is being summoned right in my face the animation speed of the clone needs to be nerfed by 50% so that people can actually dodge it.
Mesmer was strong enough in 1v1 already.
I disagree, clearly you don’t play the Mesmer class, or at least the lack thereof, knowledge on the mechanic on Ileap. There is at least 2 seconds for the player to teleport to the enemy target due to 1. Input lag 2. Ping 3. skill activation and animation rendering. That’s more than enough time to give players reaction on what’s coming. To add to what others have said, this game does not balance around 1v1 scenario, and even if that’s the case, any class should have a fair equal chance in 1v1 of equivalent skill and knowledge. Don’t make a false suggestion that’s based on your own experience that you got outplayed by someone else of higher skill. I had my fair share of win/loss ratio to any other classes when met with opponents of equivalent skill and that’s just the way it should be – Player skill dependent.
I just shed my tears of joy
This is a step in the right direction, and hopefully those fix won’t come with new free bugs attached. lol
Kudos to Anet.
Well I don’t anymore – or GW2 at all for that matter.
However it is still the most unique and enjoyable class in GW2, been a pleasure to play despite all the bugs and nerfs, and if I was given the choice of going back 2 years and starting over I would do exactly the same thing, no regrets.
Hopefully Anet realises the beauty of the mesmer class they have created, and how unique it has the potential to be – for any kind of class in any kind of rpg or mmo – and that they manage to bring it into a good position in the future.
+1 from me
In the end, one will realize that it’s really time to move on. May it be a different prof or another game. I went with the latter, and having a great time in TERA with any class – balance. I still miss my Mes from time to time but I know kitten well that my skillset and time invested else where will lead me to greater rewards and satisfaction. This is coming from a Mes main since the head start. I hope for better changes down the road, but I wouldn’t hold my breath for it. As we all know, the process has been so excruciatingly slow over the past 2 years.

Well that is the reason, why less people play this game.
and that would be me too, just logged in to make this reply.
Checked the Aug/12 patch notes again, I literally lol’d again. Same old as previous patch notes of nothingness. The funny part is this thread is going exactly the same as the last one on the previous patch notes…YEA, it’s heading nowhere. I think I almost had a nostalgia moment here.
Oh and for the majority that has decided to stick with this game and went with the “reroll” spec to X profession, well I didn’t bother to go with that route…In fact I actually “rerolled” to a completely different class in another game – TERA and having a blast.
So why am I still here? well the reason is simple…I haven’t completely lost faith in Anet, yet. I’m still waiting to see what the dev team is going to achieve in the next “ready-up” for any major and meaningful changes to the Mesmer, and for the better I truly hope.
Even after two years since release, the Mesmer is still having bugs with its “teleport” mechanic. There is an issue with the Staff #2 Skill – Phase Retreat and Utility skill – Blink that can cause your character to root itself on the ground after using it as a CC breaker (from Knock Back, or Immobilize as an example). Even when there is no crowd control condition on your character, the character would still get stuck or rooted permanently at the spot where u just phase retreated or blinked. You can pan your camera around with mouse right click and try WASD to move your character but nothing will work. You can wait for your phase retreat or Blink to come off CD and teleport again to a new spot hoping that it will “unbug” the rooted effect on your character, but it still wouldn’t work for a period of time. After a couple repeated attempt of teleporting again and again for long duration of time spent, the character will finally be able to move again.
In SPVP or during any combat scenarios, this means an instant death sentence to your character. This is a severe issue and quite game breaking when the bug happens. This type of teleport bug should be in the top of list to address for Mesmers.
Hammer “discrimination” in PvE. Please edit the title. Racism isn’t the correct usage of word here.
Hammer is not a Race. The word you are looking for is discrimination
…
I enjoyed reading your feedback, and you’ve summed up all your points well.
And thanks to all the constructive feedbacks in this thread, there are some well thought-out responses to the current state of Mesmers in the meta.
All the known facts and issues brought up here should help contributing with every workable fixes and changes for the better. I don’t know how much harder we need to try to get developers to acknowledge our feedbacks and to address the known issues. When we have taken all the feedbacks about the Mesmer in comparison to other professions on every sub forums of this site, the vast majority of feedbacks given by our player base have shown that the Mesmer is lacking on various different grounds. In order to get Mesmers back to its game, many drastic improvements from the core mechanics (AI and summon Illusions) to our Traits system (more useful traits and synergies) will need to be implemented in a foreseeable near future.
Anyone argues that certain professions fits in the “top tier” category is simply implying that we have a profession imbalance issue. This is the least we want in the game, besides bugs and technical issues. The long term goal for developers to aim for is always making sure that all professions should see equally strong fit for all game modes (Open world PvE, Dungeons, sPvP, and WvW) – This is where the Mesmer is currently falling short at the moment. The general consensus for the top 3 profession in PvX now are the following, and they’re in no particular order: Warriors, Guardians, and arguably the Elementalists in this bracket.

You’re really suggesting more tooltip changes?
The Tooltips are correct. The Q/A team has already done passes on Tooltips in the past. The most recent change to iLeap fix is a bug fix. Please refer to my post in the above for its reference on the bug fix.
I’m really impressed by the amount of effort you put together for that whole list of bugs.
Let’s hope this thread will get its rightfully attention and have all those unintended bugs fixed.
I agree that those skills not matching their respective tooltip doesn’t seem balanced at all. The bug fix to Illusionary Leap is the first step in the right direction. I am also very thankful to the balance team for their continual effort and QoL improvements.
Here is the reference to the iLeap bug fix listed in the previous patch note:
“Illusionary Leap: Fixed a bug that allowed players to swap places with their clone after it was destroyed.”
Clearly the fix to the iLeap bug, which is contrary to tooltip description, sets the standard balancing approach for the rest of other skill bugs across other professions.
I also look forward to the rest of those listed bugs corrected in the near future. Thanks for the effort, Shimmerless, you have saved the balance team a lot of time with these compilated bugs info!

Our Competitive Events Manager, Josh Davis, shared the International All-Stars Tournament Info and all the European and N/A Candidates Profiles here:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/pvp/International-All-Stars-Vote-Discussion/first
As you can see, the Mesmer is non-existent in the competitive scene for N/A Candidates, and only two out of the whole list of players from EU chose the Mesmer profession.
Balance?! That’s really something to seriously think about, right Josh?
The current Meta is like Warriors 120% – Guardians 110% – Ele – and more Ele? and then followed by Thief – Necromancer, Ranger/Engineer…
Where do Mesmers stand today? A sidekick? A utility bot? Are we really a trash tier class like some have already commented about the Mesmer?
Less nerfs, and more buffs please to bring the balance in line.
The data represented here truly speaks for the Meta in competitive game play today.
Competitive players are NOT stupid. They chose to play certain profession utilizing certain builds with respective itemization and gearing for one reason only:
They want to seal the victory for the team.
Any pro competitive player would go through the mindset of deciding what is the opportunity cost of bringing this profession over the others in a tournament.
#1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of choosing the Mesmer in a competitive tournament?
#2. How much loss over gain does the team has to bear for a Mesmer to have a spot on the team, instead of any other profession?
#3. How crucial is the role of Mesmer over the other 7 professions in a competitive tournament?
#4. How much of a difference CAN a Mesmer make in turning the tide for the team to seal its victory? How about Guardians in this case? (I deliberately ask for comparison to the role of Guardian in this specific question for a reason…)
We have our “answers” clear as day from the lists of candidates.
How do Mesmer players view such an event and realizing that we have very limited choices of candidates to give our support? I am on N/A, and I suppose I will give my support to the two EU candidates representing the Mesmer? or should I give support to every other professions other than my own on the N/A category? Does the Developers not seeing and understand the whole issue here?
Discuss.

Inexperienced players are always the most motivated vocal ones on the forums with complaints often asking for nerfs with invalid points. They’re the reasons why classes like the Mesmer has gotten worse and worse over the years of patch updates.
I hope Developers at Anet are smart about making the correct judgement and decisions not based on invalid complaints by mostly inexperienced players. Most of the time it’s simply a L2P issue. GW2 is an extremely skilled based game, unlike many other generic MMOs. I believe this is a good thing. The combat system in this game is superb.
What most inexperienced players don’t get is that their chosen class will improve as they gain more experience in combat throughout the game, as well as learning more about the class’ mechanics.
Quick nerfs on a profession when most player base are still learning about their own class and other classes’ mechanics is the results we see today for Mesmers, which is a real shame.
I admit I used to feel extremely frustrated fighting against a thief in the past as a Mesmer player in the first couple month of gameplay. As time progresses, I eventually learnt more and more about different builds available, Thiefs mechanics, as well as mechanics of Mesmers. My skills have improved overtime as I gain more experience in combat through playing different contents in all aspects of the game.
Never was I went to the Thief class forum and complaint and calling for nerfs. I always evaluate myself first and look for where improvements can be made on my part. I experimented many different things and that’s how I’ve come to where I am today, a competitive player.
More often than not, that’s not the case with many players. It’s always easy for them to point the problems at others, instead of going through self-evaluation processes.
Developers should always be looking for buffs to improve where is lacking, and bring them in line with things that are already presented to be viable in game. Nerfing one thing and leave the others untouched will not balance things and will actually hurt diversity in game.
If you ask for nerfs on this type of Runes that summons a pet, any nerf to these runes will render them absolutely useless and unfavorable to players immediately after the patch. That will be extremely detrimental to build diversity and promoting variation in itemization and gearing.
Instead of asking for nerfs, we can maybe suggest that these pet summoning runes be unavailable to choose in sPvP. However, this will also have a negative impact in build diversity, itemization and gearing in sPvP setting. I believe the developers have said in an interview previously that they want to balance all things – including skills, builds, itemization, and gearing around all aspects of the game.
This means that they don’t want to have an implementation of changes for one aspect of the game – ex. PvE open world, then another for WvW and sPvP. Developers always want to make changes/updates/improvements with all aspects of the game taken into account, and not focus on just a single aspect of the game.
I would disagree with such “nerf” to these runes. These runes may present an interesting spec in sPvP, but they’re not really the best choice outside of sPvP. There are other favorable runes in other aspects of the game, and this is where diversity in itemization comes in. I believe players should have the freedom of choice for each different rune set based on certain aspect of the game. There is no best rune for everything, and the game developers are always looking to promote diversity in game. Taking a viable option and choice away will only hurt this approach.
I read on the forum that someone received a dishonest penalty for 3 days for abandoning his team. I want to know how do people report leecher in game? There is no specific option for reporting a leecher.
It’s not fair for a player to join a tournament match and not be able to commit due to any circumstances. Such player should deserve to receive an automated dishonesty penalty after repeated offense. GW1 has the dishonesty system in PvP arenas, but not in GW2?
Any inputs would be appreacited. Thanks guys.

I’m lookin for the class which is more versatile and needed throughout all aspects of the game.
In terms of niches, I’d like to excel in:
tPvP / sPvP-snip-
Before listening to all the “Ele > Mesmer” crowd (with which I agree, btw) you should really consider the fact that SPVP balance will probably change. If you asked the same question some months ago, for example, Mesmer would have been the answer. Now it is Elementalist, but the point is that things changes.
Things changed all the time, I agree, but they were mostly for the worst for the Mesmer. It’s nothing but a downhill for the Mesmer class since the release of GW2 dated back in Aug, 25th, 2012. One would be very naive to believe that Mesmer will see any meaningful changes for the better. Players have been anxiously waited and waited and waited and waited and waited again from the last TWO years and look at the current state of the Mes today July, 14, 2014. I read all EIGHT profession forum everyday, no other class forum is as messed up as Mesmer now.
Roll the Ele, if you want to restrict the choice down to just these two. Otherwise, my asnwer would be different. Just stay the hell away from Mesmer to avoid yourself a kittenload of frustration.
(edited by Mystiq Angelic.8193)
I can totally feel you Kirito, I’ve made a thread with the same topic as this just earlier today. I agree with you that it’s been a down hill for this class since the release of this game dated back in Aug, 25th, 2012. I can still clearly remember this date since this is the date I finally departed from my long journey in GW1 and said hello to a world of full imaginations and high hopes in GW2. Today, it’s a bunch of disappointments, and I had my fair share of joy. The Mesmer is my main and have thousands of actual playtime on my Mesmer. As many others including myself have said this before, the Mesmer is not in a good spot right now, and it’s not just in one aspect of the game.
The game developers tried to balance other classes, but at great cost of this class’ overall effectiveness, strength, and versatility in the game. The Mesmer desperately needs more attention at this point, and should deserve compensations to make up for its many known flaws.
Over the course of almost two years, many other players whose main in other professions have already learnt and understood the mechanics of the Mesmer very well by now. Mesmer may seem like a troublesome class like thiefs as a counter part example to new players in this game, but the meta today consists of mostly experienced competitive players.
Other classes strength have grown together with player’s experience, skills and knowledge in the game overall. In addition to those gains, they’ve also received several buffs and favorable bug fixes over the course of 23 month since the official release. All in all these are the reasons why playing on the Mesmer class today can put a player at a serious disadvantage against most other stronger classes by players of equal skills
I always like to emphasis on the keyword equal skills, because that’s how the class balance should be really looked at and given proper changes. It seems that the Devs doesn’t quite get this fact. Over the years, many outcries against the Mesmer class have made the Devs severely punished the Mesmer because those inexperienced players have failed to L2P, and they were also very vocal with their wrongfully opinions. Ultimately, this is the outcome of the Mesmer today. A well known utility bot and an underdog, which is a real shame.
(edited by Mystiq Angelic.8193)
Nice commentary but in this video u happened to roll against some baddies….thus, it doesn’t really showcase how this build would actually shine against competitive ranked PvP players. I can already think of several types of scenarios where some other classes can just over power such build. Any classes that has decent up time of Invul, block, stealth, heavy cond stacks against you could easily wipe Mes off the ground, and render this build’s core strength which is the interrupt almost useless. Speaking from my experience, such class like the Engineer as an example would be a hard counter to this build or the Mesmer class as a whole. In the current state of the game, many other classes played by equally skilled competitive PvP players can really just over power a Mesmer today. Mesmer is not in a good spot right now, in my honest opinion, which is a shame really.
(edited by Mystiq Angelic.8193)
I’m done with Mesmer. I came back after ~6 month break as an old pro. I had hopes for this class to get to where it should be with rightfully buffs and bug fixes, but apparently that’s not really the case. It seems other classes are better deserved to receive all the buffs and loving attentions, and they’ve gotten better than ever. I feel severely kitten most of the time matching with players of equal skills in sPvP. The Mes is not in a good spot right now.
1. Several handicaps, bugs, and nerfs to Mesmers over the years (Nerf x1)
2. Other classes have been getting buffs and favorable bug fixes to improve their chances of winning (Nerf x2)
3. Competitive players over the years have already learnt ways to counter Mes mechanics effectively and have better knowledge about this class (Nerf x3) – I’ll explain why this is a considerable nerf.
Taken all the points in the above, the Mes is like getting punished with all 3 points compounded.
GW2 June 13 Balance Philosophy Dev Livesteam Notes:
“Sarcraft in the early days – Terran wasn’t as good but once community learned how to play Terrans (i.e. the Koreans) they were really powerful. Elementalist is the same. At first people didn’t know how to play the class but once they know how to elementalist started to dominate and we had to tone it down.”
Over the years, competitive PVP players have all learnt the mechanics about the Mesmer class; we have received multiple nerfs in addition to players knowledge gained on defeating us by simply overcoming the L2P issue. On top of all that, the buffs and bug fixes they received just further causing disparity between this class and others.
So what’s the result of this outcome? At first, the Mesmers were consistently nerfed patch after patch as a way to “tone down” this class much like the fate of the thiefs. It was a way to temporary help relieve some of the frustrations from inexperienced players playing against Mesmers. However, today, the Mesmer is not in a good spot because this class did not receive well enough compensations to bring us in line with other classes. As an example, the new grandmaster trait in Dueling – Triumphant Distortion which requires you to KILL an enemy first in order to gain the trait effect. It may be more useful in a PvE setting, but even then it’s still fairly useless against bosses. An almost useless Grandmaster trait like this does not help promoting build diversity at all, and it certainly does not bring us on par with other classes.
I also disagree on Devs view on Mesmers as being a support class or aka. “utility bots”
Mesmer is arguably the most unique class in the Guild Wars series, but the current state of class imbalance is really hindering how far and successful this class can excel in all aspects of the game. Mes is my main, I WANT to play this class as a main leading role. I believe all classes should have the ability and capability to play this way effectively. This is supposed to be the fundamental philosophy in designing class balance. I certainly did not buy into GW2 for another “Holy Trinity,” because there are plenty of other MMOs that does that A LOT better. I thought I was promised to be able to make any class as a main leading role for every aspect of the game that I enjoy playing.
I have tried very hard to give this game another chance one time after another, and every time I just kept getting reminded for the amount frustrations I have to endure from many aspects in the game. I can cont. on with another TL;DR describing issues in each aspect, but there are existing topics covering that already and buried somewhere…
Lastly, it’s the the lack of consistent communication and acknowledgement from Devs on the Mes forum that puts the final nail on the coffin. Contrary to the official forum on Blizzard, we regularly see “blue” CM/Devs communicating and acknowledging feedbacks from the player base on a daily basis. I don’t see why Anet CMs/Devs cannot do the same. Blizzard CMs and Devs are doing a lot better job in communicating with the player base, and it isn’t just a public relations BS. You can really expect issues that have been raised by the community for unintended bugs, class balance, skills balance, to promoting build diversity and QoL improvements in a new patch or hot fix within a short reasonable amount of time.
I refuse to play the “reroll” spec as some have already suggested, because I’ve pretty much lost faith in Anet at this point. Since our issues and concerns aren’t going to be acknowledged and taken up by Devs anytime soon, we can at least vote with our wallet. For the time being, I wouldn’t waste any more time in this game, and I’m better off investing my online gaming career in another MMO.

Does clones retain footprints from the legendary greatswords such as Sunrise/Twilight/Eternity?
I’ve asked a friend who has an Eternity and he said clones doesn’t retain footprints from the Eternity. Then, the only answer I can find on the forum was “Never seen a mesmer with bifrost, but all the clones retain footprints when using sunrise, so I assume it holds true for all legendaries.”
I’ve tried searching on Google for newer videos on Mesmers wielding legendary GS but none of them really shows if the clones does or does not retain footprints, since GS clones would have to chase an enemy beyond its 1200 range to start moving and reveal any footprints.
It could be slightly difficult to test and confirm this in PvE, since you will want your clones to chase a target that moves away beyond its range 1200. It’s easier to test this in WvW, but it requires enemy player to be on the move or when fighting a thief after he reveals himself.
I would really like to craft a Sunrise in the not so distant future, and I really want to know if clones have those footprints as on your character, otherwise it would be a dead give away in the case of PvP. I do hope that clones does retain footprints like on your character, but if not then it’s an oversight that I hope it will get fixed by Devs.

I’ve been receiving terrible server stability lately and got the same error code. I was experiencing massive lag spike, skills lag, chat lag before the forced disconnection. I’ve been playing GW2 since the headstart of the game more than a year ago and lately the server’s stability has seen its most unstable state. It’s seriously taking away any enjoyment I have in the game due to the lag. The lag gets most pronounced during large DEs or in WvW zergs where there are many players on the map. However, the game had ZERO skill lag, ping lag issue for me in the first 6 month of the game (before culling is fixed). I suspect it has to do with the culling fixed and server’s performance and its stability in handling large number of players. Despite the terrible performance in FPS and that’s for another topic, the server and/or the game’s coding needs to be addressed ASAP to bring back the enjoyment in the game.
The lag is really inconsistent by means of during various times of the day. The reason why I’m on here typing out this is because I died over and over again due to rubber-banding lagging in WVW and it’s seriously NOT fun. I’m not referring to FPS related issue, it’s simply bad ping to YOUR server. Skill lag is what I’m describing here.
I have never experienced this game lag this bad before I took a long break before Jan this year and I played GW2 since the headstart in august! I can say I had near flawless experience with the quality of internet connection to the server (NA) during WvW, Spvp, PvE. What I don’t understand is why this game is going backwards in terms of quality assurance in server stability, consistency and sustainability…I understand they fixed the culling issue which is GREAT and was a major issue in WvW but introduced another issue which really hurt the overall gaming experience.
Anet, if you’re reading this, PLEASE fix this issue ASAP.
I thought I should add my input on this topic as well. I’m also experiencing the “lag” that everyone has been describing in this tread. In case a moderator or a Dev read this, I want to clarify that it’s NOT video card FPS related. It’s simply bad network PING I’m referring to here (delayed skill activation, lag response timing effecting character movement and interations with other players/environment, stuttering, skill freezing & stuttering.) It’s most noticeable for me during sPvP and WvW where I’m also connected with other clients. It’s less noticeable when I’m in say Divinity Reach with very low count of actual human players on the map.
I want to clarify again I’ve been playing this game since headstart a year ago but took a long break shortly after Jan this year and came back with a fresh install of this game. I’ve NEVER experienced this type of network PING lag in the past, whether on Kaineng, Yak’s bend, SBI, JQ, Dragonbrand. Video FPS instability in large instances is for another topic and it’s not what I’m referring to here and I’ve been with the same ISP for years and never had any problem 25Mb/5 network high speed.
I suspect it’s something to do with the recent patch like others have mentioned, but unfortunately I cannot compare it with the previous patches of late. I can however compare to the server’s network performance and stability for me from Aug 2012 to Jan 2013 and the ping response was perfectly fine in all cases, except a few hiccups during special events like Halloween from last year but it’s already fixed and a good old history now.
(edited by Mystiq Angelic.8193)
I’m also experiencing bad ping now and I never had any lag/ping issue on my server before. SBI.
It’s been days since my long return to GW2 and I can’t use the forum search as well.
I tried search function in different browers – IE, Chrome and none of them are working.
When I typed in a key word like “berserker” or “Mesmer” in any forum and the search function is non responding; I could not even click the search mini icon. Real time search is not working at all.
I can also confirm this bug. I got a vial of condensed mists essence at level 28 from a normal mob whereas my friend got a shard on the same level. The drop rate is already low enough and I was at a loss due to this bug. A shard could break it down into 9 vials in total, that was a huge loss in my case.
They might just patch all current T3 with the stats, but my question is: what happens if I buy the armor set and transmute it ?
That’s a very good question and it makes me a little worried as well. I’ve also transmuted my T3 armors and I hope they better be updated with the correct ascended stats. If that’s the case, I know there are a lot of other players who have transmuted their T3 armors and it’d be best for Anet to do it right the first time before releasing a patch than trying to fix it later.
This is a suggestion I’ve wrote about Ascended Rings:
I propose that players are allowed to salvage unwanted non-infused/infused Ascended rings for mists essences. The mists essences acquired through this way will also be account bound.
1. Salvaging Non-infused Ascended rings will get Vials of condensed mists essence as common salvage and Globs of coagulated mists essences as rarer salvage. The yield for salvaging Vials is 1 to 3 and for Globs is 1 to 2.
2. Salvaging Infused Ascended rings will get Globs of coagulated mists essence as common salvage and Shard of crystallized mists essence as rarer salvage. (The yield for Shard will be fixed at 1 only and as a rarer salvage.)
Note: Salvaging Ascended rings is effected by the quality of the salvage kit used, just like salvaging Ectos from rares and exotics.
As for Pristine Fractal Relics, I’ve another great suggestion to make:
1. Players can exchange 100 Fractal Relics for 1 Pristine Fractal Relic. (Developers can discuss this ratio further internally, but I figured this ratio should be about right.)
2. Players can turn in 30 Pristine Fractal Relics for a choice of Fractal weapon skin.
The current chance to get a Fractal weapon from the daily chest is very rare, I have only got one Fractal weapon in my 450+ completion up to date. Since Fractal weapons are dungeon weapon set, It would makes sense to have them available through exchanging relics at vendor and not entirely based on RNG. Again, I believe 30 Pristine Fractal relics or 3,000 Fractal relics should be reasonable enough without losing its rarity and value as intended.
It’s great now that every progression we make in FotM each day is meaniful towards getting an Ascended ring that we want. I think it’s reasonable and all makes sense that the recipe requires mists essence to infuse the rings. However, I’d love to see other methods of acquiring mists essences and not entirely based on RNG.
I propose that players are allowed to salvage undesired non-infused/infused Ascended rings for mists essences.

I’m actually fine with the recipe, and I think it’s reasonable and makes sense that it requires mists essence. It also shows that Anet has been taking the suggestions in that not all high end recipes requires expensive mats. But I’d love to see other methods of acquiring mists essences.
It’s also missing Rampager’s stats for all Ascended items as well. My main character with over 1,300 hours actual playtime spent happened to be using both Knight’s and Rampager’s mix for gears.
I’m not sure if I understood the wording correctly, but If I’m right and I’ve reworded differently based on my understanding:
1. Vials of Condensed Mists Essence no longer drop starting at scale 11.
2. Globs of Coagulated Mists Essence no longer drop starting at scale 21.
I’m already at level 31 but missing 3 vials to infuse an ascended ring. I’ve enough globs and a Shard for the infused ring recipe. Now, i’m forced to redo content level 1-9 or 1-10 if I understood the wording correctly earlier. So far I’ve done over 7 full tier 1 runs without a vial dropped, the drop rate is still absurdly low. I hope it’s not bugged with Christmas present boxes as part of the loot table for the period of time.
I’d much appreciate if Robert or someone else can confirm the loot table range for Vial of condensed mists.

Since the devs have confirmed that there was no changes to Berserker damage post Nov 15th LoS changes, then why are we still seeing consistently much lower damage in the range of low ~700 on crit to sub 2k on crit? The Phantasmal Berserker is still showing inconsistency with its overall attack damage in patch 12/14 compare to its state prior to Nov 15th patch that LoS fix unintentionally introduced this bug.
Before the Nov 15th patch. The Berserker was consistently doing damage in between the range of 2.9k ~ 4k on crit to enemies along its path. The spec for my mesmer remains the same throughout the whole process of changes. My Mesmer has ~3k attack, 58% crit chance, and +50% crit damage. The Berserker does not reliably lands 4 hits on tested stationary golems in Heart of the Mist. The missing attacks occur in both of its initial and subsequent attacks on tested stationary golems along its AoE travel path. The output damage by Berserker is at a loss of 50-75%.
I’ve spent well over 1,300 hours in actual play time on the Mesmer profession since Aug 25th headstart, so I know even the slightest changes to our illusions behavior. The delay introduced post Dec 03 patch was fixed, but 0.25s is still 0.25s too long in PvE due to zero delay in AI response from enemy. If Signet of Illusions is correctly registered to our summoned illusions, it would have helped a bit in their survivability. But that’s not the case, Signet of Illusions isn’t reliable most of the time whenever an illusion is summoned. This makes Mesmer’s attacks based on phantasms unreliable in many different situations in PvE. However, SoI is still a must have staple utility in many various of builds and play style due to “Mesmers rely on illusions in order to accomplish their goals.” as stated by Jonathan Sharp. I can understand the delay for its purpose in PvP so players have a chance to react to summoned phantasms. Balance changes based on PvP perspective is not the best way to go when PvE is also a huge part of the game, and the fact that actual players and artificial intelligence behave so differently.

I’m in the same position here and I’m short of 3 vials so I can upgrade my ascended rings. I already have enough globs and shard mists essences. I did 3 tier 1 (lvl 1-9) full runs and didn’t get any vials. If exchanging tokens for mists essence is not a viable option, I’d like to suggest that we can at least salvage unwanted ascended rings for mists essence crafting materials. The mats would be account bound like the ring. This way will provide us better flexibility and more options in obtaining these essences.
I would like to kindly ask everyone to make a post reply in the thread I created in Bugs forum regarding Phantasmal Berserker’s missing attacks.

The Mesmer community is really looking forward to see this bug be fixed asap, since Nov 15th patch introduced this bug unintentionally.

Armor art issue (clipping)
Race: Human
Sex: Female
Scholar Profession: Mesmer
Armor type: Light armor
Armor name: Masquerade Leggings
General overview:
Masquerade leggings in particular has a larger size than standard size leggings, thus effecting Greatswords of all models to be properly displayed. The following attachments will show 2 human female models standing side by side of each other to better demonstrate the clipping issue of Masquerade leggings with a standard size leggings. Both models have Ghastly Greatsword equipped to show a relative comparason between the two. The clipping issue is even more pronounced with certain Greatswords that have thinner greatsword blade such as Vision of the Mists.
Attachments:
(#1) GW845, (#2) GW820, (#3) GW822, (#4) GW825:
The greatsword appears to pierce through Masquerade leggings and over half of its greatsword blade is completely hidden by it. These screenshots were taken from different angles to better showcase the issue, and to give a relative accurate comparison with another female human model in standard size leggings and identical greatsword.
(#5) GW839, (#6) GW842, (#7) GW843:
These 3 screenshots show the clipping issues from a frontal view. As I described earlier, the greatsword blade appears to pierce through the large size Masquerade leggings. The portion of the greatsword blade should not be visible inside the leggings. The standard placeholder for greatswords is overlapping with the large size Masquerade leggings. The angle of greatsword placeholder for Masquerade leggings may need to be adjusted slightly tilted upwards vertically to better fit with its size with minimal clipping issues.
Thank you for reviewing, and my special thanks to the team that fixed the clipping issue for Masquerade leggings with one hand weapons and off hands. I very much appreciate the art work without clipping.
It’s still not fixed for me as well. Storm Bluff Isle. It’s been a month since I transferred to this server. WvW icon doesn’t display active buffs.
I’ve just tested the Phantasmal Berserker after today’s patch:
1. Phantasmal Berserker’s damage is still not fixed. Its attacks damage are still inconsistent and no where close to the state it was before Nov 15th patch.
2. Phantasms and not only just Berserker now suffers a delay before they will initiate their first attack. Often times they’ll get destroyed or significantly damaged due to delayed Signet of Illusions not granting them health bonus before phantasms initiate their first attack.
The current state of Phantasms is even worse than before. At this point, I’m really feeling frustrated by this.
Mine does seem to hit the correct number of times, at least in PvE. Havent tested it out vs players yet. Its just the delay that totally ruins the skill.
I tested the Berserker against a stationary golem as well as a single targeted NPC enemy in WvW thoroughly. The result I got was that it’s still missing some of its attacks that’s causing its inconsistency. Since Berserker deals AoE, I confirmed the result again at HotM against a group of stationary Golems near DPS Trials Waypoint, and the figures from all of the targets that got hit by Berserker goes from as low as ~500 on crit to 1.9-2k on crit. Crit chance is at 58%, +Crit dmg is at 37 and Attack is at 2.7k. The damage output and inconsistency nature have not been corrected. Together with delayed responsive phantasms upon summoning introduced by today’s patch, this is a severe issue.

Same problem here. Error: 42:5:7:1008:101
Can’t log back in with my character in LA. Other characters are unaffected. It crashed while loading LA and gave this error code.
Anyone knows if Prototype Fractal Capacitor (Ascended) can be infused using the same recipe as the quivers and books to grant additional +5 agony resistance?
Endless Quiver (Infused)
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Endless_Quiver_%28Infused%29
I’ve checked on GW2 Wiki and GW2DB and I was disappointed to see there are no Ascended rings with Rampager’s or Knight’s stats. However, I saw three named Berserker’s Ascended Rings. Are Rampapger’s and Knight’s stats Ascended rings actually available in game?
There are no best weapons for any profession, at least that’s what Anet intended us to follow. As we know skills are tied to each different weapons, you just need to learn to make good use for each one of them. Especially in WvW for example, a well prepared Mesmer may want to use up to 5 different weapons to best suit the dynamics in WvW: Sword, Pistol, Focus, Greatsword, Staff. Unlike many other professions, Mesmers do need to rely on serveral different weapon sets to be comparable to other classes in terms of versatility. As it’s been noted before, the severe lack of AoE and extended speed buff are two of our most significant weaknesses. For example in PvP or WvW, movement speed also counts as a great deal in your overeall survivability. Focus is our only available option for active speed buff but that requires you to switch your weapon. During a combat, that will not be an option and Phantasmal Warden is a really poor choice to use in general PvP situations due to it being stationary. Sword+Pistol is mostly favored in 1v1 scenarios. Staff is more focus in its defensive measures. Greatsword has its benefits at long range and keep enemies away from close distance.
I can’t really give my advice to anyone to have a favorite one or two weapon choices, because if enough people suggesting or favoring a particular weapon X, you can expect it to get nerfed next patch to come. Instead of buff other unpopular and low demanded weapons to make them as viable and attractive as some of others, Anet likes to nerf the “good” ones to bring them in “balance” with the rest. While I do not agree this is a good approach in balancing but it’s a fact that they’ve made these choices in the past.
I also just created a thread about this bug in my thread.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/20-Slot-Fractal-Rare-Equipment-Box-Bug/first#post818988
Perhaps a moderator would merge them for devs to better keep in track of this bug. I’ve also filed a bug report in game so hopefully they’ll fix this bug ASAP.
The 20 slot Fractal rare equipment box currently has a bug that rare armors and weapons does NOT go in this box first. I’ve 3 other 18 slot equipment box in my inventory, and armor and weapons will fill these equipment boxes from top to bottom order despite item’s rarity. I do not have the 20 slot uncommon or exotic Fractal equipment box but I suspect they may also lack the coding for the specific rarity item to go in a specific rarity equip box before filling in a general equipment box based on top-bottom inventory order.
What kills me about problems specific to the iberserker at the moment is Anet has the expertise to instantly fix the problem.
That’s the heart of the matter. They know what’s wrong, they have a list of all the legitimate bugs, yet there’s barely any communication with the player base regarding fixes or changes – even after causing some problems with the latest patch.
Before GW2, I had been playing EVE Online and I witnessed a major player outrage happen due to miscommunication or plain lack of communication. Long story short, they made some changes without being clear and came out as greedy, deceptive kittens. The player outrage was such that hundreds of people sat at the major market hub shooting a well-known monument for days in revolt to the direction the company was taking.
The result? They apologized, explained everything they intended to do, and in a short time re-adjusted the game to cater to their players without adding extra bugs or throwing things out of balance. They also replaced the aforementioned monument model with a messed up and shattered one to permanently reflect the event.Transparency is golden these days. Anet should seriously consider that.
Well put and a good read about EVE online story. I’m amazed by the last part that I’ve put in bold, and it shows that they respect and care for their players with a sincere apology. Very interesting indeed.
