what i however have a problem with is the city and the state. it snows like every year there. how can you forget it every year and then panic because of some snow. across the pond we hear EVERY YEAR how snow shuts schools and jams traffic and causes chaos in america. how can you be so oxymoron not to learn anything from last year? there’s no bad weather only bad equipment. how about upgrading yours?

Even more so, is there a point to having a legendary rifle ingame? The only class that can somewhat properly use a rifle is engi, and even then, they’re better p/p hammer.

Would be nice if the rifle got an update so that it became the meta weapon (oops hopeful thinking) I mean at least the main ranged weapon of some classes?

My feeling is that anet is out to please only their “ecompetitors” at whatever expense the community feel.

This game has hands down the worst pvp system I’ve seen and Im taking swtor into account. Wvw is brilliant, I enjoy raids, pve is fun. pvp is garbage.

looks like a nerf, talked to a lot of people at the sw, so no more 3 rare bag drops, one nightmare key per run and the rest of the drops have been nerfed. The silverwastes will go back to what they were initially, deserted.

Did ArenaNet remove the 3 rare bags you get from killing all 5 bosses at the silverwastes during breach? or is it a bug?

What part of it means they didn’t? The burden of proof is not on the customers at this point…due to their sketchy track record so far.

In judging incompetence vs. malice, the burden of proof is always on whoever alleges malice. This stems partly from Hanlon’s Razor, and also from the general principle that you don’t accuse people of a crime without proof.

It’s obvious that they’re incompetent. They do need to compensate players for this — it was, after all, their balls-up — and offer refunds to those who don’t like whatever compensation they offer.

But however kittened off you are that they screwed up, that does not mean you’re justified in accusing them of lying or deceiving you.

Is that build stilll effective? have tried the meditrapper, however it’s a tough build to use when fighting necros and engis. Even some thiefs. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Well, you said the raid is boring, kill boss, then trash, boss, trash…. then you said it’s annoying a half a second mistake wipes the raid. Those two points seem contradictory to me.

I was a little annoyed at raids at one point, until I found a solid team, now it’s just fun.

Mmm just want to share my raid story. I joined a guild hoping to get on a raid team. Never killed beyond vg. Killed vg after an hour, my guild raid team wanted to phase gors without updraft. Couldnt even take him down past half health. After 2 weeks I was informed by the guild leader I had been kicked from the guild bc one, my performance was poor on the raid, and two… bc I didn’t talk enough on ts. Blew my mind. The guild leader was a nice guy, going by his raid commanders I guess. Felt pretty dejected.

Saw a post online about Synergy (lol) from jade quarry, talked to the guild leader, very nice guy, let me in. We have about 7 raid teams for diff. days of the week. I apply for one raid team was put on a weekend trial. On my very first day, killed vg on 2nd try, and gors on 2nd try. I guess I wasnt bad after all. The next day we killed sab. I had never done sab and instead of creating a toxic enviroment, the raid lead simply gave me suggestions, asked me to raise my game and gave me a chance to prove myself. The next weekend we killed both vg and gors on the first try. Sab the day after. I now think my first guild did me a favor, I wouldnt have found Synergy.

If you need a solid guild, with tons of raid experience, look into Synergy.

I get a feeling Swagger is just mad he hasnt been able to complete the raid wing. Some of his points are straight up contradictory.

Im sorry raids aren’t easy, find a good team and earn your spot.

Been reading some stuff on reddit and the new meta build for guards…. seems like most agree on guards having 3rd highest dps. Any thoughts from experienced raid-ers?

easy, but maybe expensive. The hardest item to get comes as a guaranteed drop from salvaging ascended armor or weapons. You can get it also from salvaging rings or accessories, but gl w that.

classes dont matter on fractals as long as you know how to play your class, know what to do and dont put stupid armor like cleric or something similar.

Gold farming isnt gone, they just moved it to other places. It’s still there if you now where to look. It’s also a lot more rewarding now.

pls stop buying those horribly designed outfits that nobody wears and worse, that you can’t mix and match.

Hey guys, Looking for pve guild with elite zerk meta groups for dungeons, organized for world bosses, sw etc. I hardly do wvw and really haven’t gotten into pvp.

A guild with a lot of active members who socialize would be nice. Don’t want to be in a guild where nobody chats. I have ts but would rather talk over guildchat.

I have 6 lvl 80s, I’m experienced in fractals (lvl 40) and all dungeons. Currently working on making bolt. Im in jade quarry and although no necessary, a jade quarry guild woud be nice. Thanks.

Hello guys, I have a lvl 80 mesmer built according to the current meta for pve, however Im having a hard time getting used to how slow they are.

I’ve seen a few mesmers during chest trains in sw move very very fast and Im wondering how are the majority of you doing that. Someone once mentioned to me how they were using a certain type of runes I can’t think of it now.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Is it just me or does it seem stupid that Anet in their quest to even out the playing field for all other builds and armor sets lowered zerker by 10%?

Arent there other things they could have done? Dungeon zerkers will still be zerkers and will still hit harder than the other sets.

Whats with all this condi crap for guard? are the making dungeon bosses susceptible to condis?

Oh I forgot to add it will push the boundaries of speaking.

Nobody knows a date although my sources said 1st quarter of this year…. I fired them.

So seeing how there seems to be no repercusions for joining groups particularly in arah and kicking everyone out just to be malicious…

There’s a group forming just to do that for hours. Maybe then Anet will look at this issue and realize that it’s ruining people’s fun not to mention time. Maybe if it becomes an epidemic Anet will fix this loophole.

A few things:

1. Berserkerarmor is not an insta win. If you have not set foot outside AC or world events and you use DnT youtube videos as proof that ‘zerk’ is very unfair, please think again. A McLaren is a great performance vehicle but don’t think you’ll win F1 just by getting behind the wheel. Try ‘zerking’ without knowing the basics of the game, and find yourself on the floor more often than not.

2. Berserker is not broken. It is indeed optimal for PvE given understanding of game mechanics, experience in damage evasion and mitigation, and solid team composition. The McLaren is not a broken vehicle because it out performs your WRX on the track. That WRX competes in different venues. In GW2, ‘zerk’ gear may be king in PvE but don’t forget that WvW and sPvP are the other 2/3 of the game. Just because you wanted to bring your WRX to the F1 track doesn’t mean you are entitled to stand on equal footing with the vehicles that compete there. They sure as heck are not entitled to that right if they compete in your venues.

3. Other stats could use a boost. Someone here had a great point about making Toughness scale damage put out by retaliation. Someone else mentioned scaling HP better and increasing active benefits through defensive stats. All ideas worth considering.

4. The vitriol needs to stop. I’ve said it elsewhere and will say it again. Speed clears and fun are not mutually exclusive. Many folks who speed clear dungeons do it because they enjoy that style of gameplay. These are folks with careers, school, children, etc… The groups I have had the pleasure of running with are all a blast to play with and about as ‘casual’ in attitude as it gets. We all play together and have learned to synergize with another. Saying you are a casual player is no excuse to force players who enjoy putting out high numbers and clearing in low times to have to spend more padded time behind a screen to achieve the same objective. A real ‘casual’ player logs on when they can between their jobs. They enjoy the time they have in whatever way they want.

5. While a buff to some stats is worth considering (with WvW taken heavily into consideration as well), if you are claiming “z3rk0r = f4cer0ll” and have not stepped foot outside the Zerg, AC, CoF you are not qualified to voice such a hostile opinion. Again, just because some folks can do it, doesn’t mean you can. There is a learning curve. That’s part of why a lot of folks don’t do it as well.

6. Remember, they QQ will not end here. Again, ‘zerk does not equal good’. Good players are good for a multitude of reasons. Many of them settled on Berserker armor because it allows them to play in an optimal fashion. They will do the same thing regardless of the meta. No changes will make bad players good.

So, if you’re being reasonable and saying there is a problem with the PvE structure that allows this to happen, I agree with you. Hopefully it is addressed and we see a lot more (traits hopefully) builds and setups that approach optimal or become a part of the meta. No reason condi folks should be left out in the cold like this.

However if you’re QQing that zerkers are unfair because you are unable to play them well or are getting left out of speed clear parties despite rolling unfavorable gear, then realize your situation will not change even if the meta does.

If they have a job, and it’s a legal job, they’re contributing members to society. Just starting w taxes, who pay for military or police or fire dpt… I mean I guess I know what you’re trying to say.

The op makes some really good points. Fantastic points in fact. The problem w it is that we all live the real world and nobody wants to spend 3hrs per dungeon taking in the beautiful landscaping, savoring every mob. I have yet to meet a role player, and if I do… im not sure that they are contributing a lot to society outside of this game.

you all realize the insanity of what you’re saying right? The basics of it, making it an even playing field.. will never happen. Ever. No game has ever been even. A game created by imperfect humans can only be imperfect.

You also realize that the fact that the traits affect specific stats directly will make some traits highly more valuable than others right? I mean conditions in pve ( and im only talking about pve here) will always take a backseat to stacking crits because bosses are immune more or less to conditions, and if they make the bosses subject to conditions, and someone figures out that over time you can kill a boss faster, people will just switch to conditions right? There will always be a meta build. There will always be a combination that surpasses the others even if by just a bit.

My last point, is that since Im assuming at least one of you can’t beat ac without spending 3hrs in it, that people dont just rush to dungeon bosses and just hack and slash right? they coordinate their abilities taking turns etc, dodging and or mitigating damage while hitting the boss right? and that in this context it makes sense to stack dps over any other trait bc u want to kill something faster and toughness is not gonna do it..

In other words, in order for me to take down something much more powerful than me, I kind of have to kill it faster than it can kill me. I mean sure, I can go fight a lion in medieval armor and try to punch it to death, but eventually he’s gonna bypass my armor and kill me. Or I guess I can take with me a bunch of painkillers and bandaids but Im pretty sure eventually Ill run out of those and the lion will kill me. This is just basic logic… Ill just have to hit it harder and faster than it can hit me.

If anet truly wants it so that there are different builds in regards to armor with not one having an obvious advantage over another, they need to get rid of all amor stats and just give it one basic number to all classes and profs.

P.S. My comparison to the nge to galaxies was exaggerated. Im surprised some of you remember that, which means you played that game, which means you have good taste. So, yes, I over exaggerated. Got called out on that. Good points regarding that. This is such a good game, I dont want it to be ruined.

Anet is gonna make the same mistake that Soe made back in the day with Star wars galaxies… they’re gonna do a massive revamp of the fight system (forcing players to change all their gear and weaponry) and in less than a week lose over 70% of their player base. Star wars galaxies for as much good work as they did afterwards (returning their fight system back to the original plataform and implementing a lot of cool features) did never recover. Then again history repeats itself.

Is almost as the fact that right now Gw2 is the or one of the best mmos out there isnt enough for them.
