What if the Dragons are NOT the biggest threat to this world but in fact were awoke to take on the REAL threat. Except, we took down the dragons, so now, we have to take on the WORLD killer.
Or its just a new place where you get the sun bath emote.
So
(1) What scared them to run onto dry land,
(2) What then came and got them anyway!
(3) Where did you get the bucket of water from and why did it not help (even a little)
Are zones on different servers? [massive zone lag in jq fireheart rise]
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Natjur.4017
Some zones have ‘issues’ which bring even the most powerful machines down to very low frame rate.
You sure its lag or a low frame rate issues?
The higher levels give higher rewards, if anyone after a few mins where ‘max’ level, they would all move to the end zones and the middle zones would never get used.
This game is free to play, but Anet relies on making money to keep the game going based on gem sales.
So they put gold sinks in the game to ‘almost’ force you to buy gems for gold.
When ever there is a good place to make gold in the game (besides playing the TP market) they will nerf it (and have nerf all the good farming spots already).
They have diminishing returns and other code in place to STOP farming.
Now, besides all that, there is still money (but a lot less) in L400 crafting, selling L400 harvesting material (which now spawns less), and farming (but keep moving zone/area to stop the DR kicking in)
Personally, I do dungeon instance runs with mates, as the loot that drops will scale to your level, farming a low level dungeon with mates (no deaths) = 3-7 rares and tons of greens and blues in 1 hr. But I mainly do it for the FUN of it. Farming = no fun and I would just by gems for gold instead. I play this game for fun.
AOE hits invisible players, but sometimes invis does not drop the ‘lock’ and they can still target and attack you with normal attacks, this is cause invis is client based and if the other guys client did not get that ‘data’, they do not see you as invis. (sometimes players also hack their client, so they always see invis players.)
Also ‘bounce’ attacks will bounce to invis player, that SHOULD be a bug, but its been reported lots and never fixed.
All cool downs for all skills are controlled CLIENT based, they can use a simple memory editor and change skills to have zero cool down. They NEED to move this stuff server sides, or it will never be fixed.
Its most likely his is from another server and transferred to lead players to there downfall, its been happening alot. Just causes someone is a commander and on your server does not mean they are working FOR your server.
He sounds like a spy, but his private messages makes him ever worst. I hope they ban him.
Did you read his buff? It says conditions HEAL HIM.
If you use direct damage only, he goes down so fast its not funny.
If you turn off all your bleeds, poisons etc and just use normal attacks, he should be dead before he does his second lot of fire
The problem is a lot of the ‘checks’ are still client side instead of server side and as the client can be hacked, this means lots of cheats.
They need to move more of the code checks BACK to the server.
Player A bots and sells gold to player B
Player B uses the gold and buys crafting items from player C
Player C now has the gold, do you remove the gold from them as you requested?
Player C did nothing wrong.
Its hard enough for them to prove Player A was a real bot, even harder to prove Player B brought the gold . But if they just remove the gold, its Player C who gets burnt
Its not in the building, its next to it (north) covered in seaweed.
Go a little more north and look for a section of seaweed next to the building as it covers a tunnel.
Maybe a silly question, but you are above L60 right? Not a L30 alt farming the L30 dungeon instance?
The the range level for Rare Yellow is 35-80
The the range level for Exotic Orange is 60-80
Just making sure
As for loot for your class, its always is and always will be random, (not for your class, just random)
Dungeon is about getting the token and buying the sets, not for the drops in the instance, they are just to sell to cover rare costs.
In general, doing instances for anything other then the tokens, is a waste a of time. Crafting to 400 and making your own top level set is much easier and more rewarding
One combine and getting nothing is not a waste.
1000+ combines and getting nothing IS a waste.
If they give you a token after each failed combine and 100 tokens = a 100% change, that would be a good fix all round.
Random luck for some, but a backup that you will never waste more then 100 combines.
I think I will just save my gold and buy the finished successful combine on the market.
The ‘non transfer’ way (which is the way they designed it) is to wait for the weekly reset.
Every week, your server moves, so one week, the middle world you control and are invading the other two, the next week your servers will start of owning the west world, and so on
So if you don’t want to transfer for the fast fix, just wait for the reset and you will see different ‘easy points’. Over three weeks, you should be able to get all points without hassles.
Cause this game does not FORCE you to interact with other players, player don’t.
Typing is slow and annoying compared to fast combat and VOIP is.
I talk to all my mates using VENT and only ever type in chat “thanks” if downed and some random rez’s me. Or if we need one extra for a dungeon run. Most of the time I do not even have the chat window up.
The older games which you had to get others together to get things done were more social cause they FORCED you to chat\talk to people to get number together to do stuff.
Theses days, no one really talks to anyone just for the ‘fun’ of talking, or because they are scared that hot looking female they are looking at is really a 50 year old fat naked male.
Yeh but how can you tell what server has what?
Also is this not considered exploiting?
The name of the server is list on the WvWvW page, and not its not considered exploiting, there was some post about a week ago about this that had a dev reply.
Transferring server to get anything in WvWvW is not an exploit, but they did add the cool down of 24hrs to stop EVERYONE doing it all the time
I did 100% world completion by transferring to the server that was owning us in WvWvW, getting the missing points and then transferring back.
Easy fix
Sure now there is a 24hr cool down, but still easy.
Using the Mystic Forge is like buying lotto tickets, most of the time it’s a waste, but someone wins!
You are not force to use it
Yes, that is how it works. All the stuff you earn on server A for the guild are only for that server A, but when you create a guild, it is created on all server.
They said that how it works right from the start.
So when you move to server B, if your the first member from your guild ever to be on server B, its like a brand new guild.
Also any ‘points’ you earn for the guild on server B, does not help server A, so don’t do big things like finish world completion or anything like that while on server B, as that will not help out the guild (on server A) in anyway

Not all NPC will rez, only those you see rezing other NPC will also rez you.
Just wondering about the spit roast you can summon.
(1) Can anyone click or only you?
(2) How long between ’click’s (when it triggers “Must FEED face”)
Also when you summon the little chief and there are mob near by, does he ALWAYS runs off and attack, dies and then pulls a train of mobs back to you? Any ideas the range, as its nuts!
With each new MMO, the NPC’s are becoming smarter. (but so are the bots)
One day, you may not be able to tell the NPC’s from the real players.
You for real? Or just trolling?
Pistol Whip nerf was not about PVP, as it roots the thief while he does the 3 attacks and it was so easy to just ‘walk away’ in PVP. Just like the nerf to guardians, it was a PVE nerf. Most thief’s where levelling by just spamming Pistol Whip, so they nerfed it to force thief’s to use more then one key.
As for backstab, yes it can hit for 15k from invis (vs a caster), but that thief will be 100% glass cannon build and that is what the thief build is all about, get in close, hit hard and hope you crit and they die cause if they don’t your dead.

The more times you do a dungeon the easier it seems.
The dev team said after testing the instances for weeks, they wanted to make them harder as they where cake walks for them, but that’s cause they run them 20+ times each.
Any instance is easy after doing it a few times. Its the unknown that makes it hard. What they need to do is have some randomise in the dungeons, (random chance of an extra mod or class change). This will keep you on your toes
Wonder if MR items can ‘roll around’ and cause LESS to drop?
Im guessing most of the charaters you think are bots are actually real players.
I often just stand and wait the shelter for events. The go afk while I wait for the next one. I see many other people doing the same.
All depend if you go AFK with auto fire on using a programmable keyboard so if the event does trigger you get the reward.
AFK botting (stand and fire) is still botting.
I thought all buttons are in order of length of cool down. So since they increased the length of cool down of one and lowered the other, they had to move them to keep with the rule of all buttons are in order of cool down length.
Clear as mud?
From what I have been told (and it appeear that way to me too)
(1) its based on hits per second (not damage)
(2) The mob will move to who ever it hitting the mob, if the closest is a melee class, then it does not move but just keeps hitting that guy instead
(3) Using a shield means they have 2 choices to hit, they seem to like hitting shield more
(4) If the mob has more then one player in range, if one player is less then 25%, it will switch to ‘finish’
(5) reviving a char REALLY annoys them and they go for that player doing the revive first (if in range)
This would explain why warrior or guardians keep aggro.
Range is easier then melee and rangers have a pet that does the work for you. So I would get her to try the following and see which she has the most fun with
Ranger
guardian (as it can take lots)
warrior (same as above but with some range)
To do it your way, every time that is ever transmuted via transmutation stones would have to be soulbound or anyone who got the skin could sell 1000’s of copys.
Also it would make skins common as no one would have to try again once they have a set.
End game its not about stats as all exotic items have the same total stats. End game is just about looks. (Legendary weapons stats are the same as exotic but just look cool)
Anet wants you to spent lots of time, gold and gems on getting ‘that look’ and if you ‘that look’ on TWO sets of armor….
Any place that is out of the way and has an event that can be triggered by X number of people, is current a bot haven.
Would be nice if the ‘hot spots’ where monitored by a human GM. I understand they can’t monitor it all, but the hot spots should stand out a mile away!
So how would you FIX the following issues (with code, not man power, as the bot vs staff ration, that will never work)
(1) AFK players using simple bots/macros to farm karma (sitting at one event spawn spot and auto attacking while away)
(2) Bots farming the same area faster then a player can SEE the mobs spawn
Diminishing returns stops number (1) as they get nothing after 1 hour and it also slows down number (2) but does not fix it. But it does force the bots to have code to MOVE to another area, and therefore allowing players to kill those mobs as the bots move on.
Diminishing returns should not be the finally and only solution as some players LIKE to farm and if they are doing it manually (no bots or macros) then they should be allowed too. (like Sim farm, boring but some people must enjoy it)
So what would you do to fix it? Hiring more staff members to read all your ‘reports’ and manually check each one is off the table, just code ideas, not human gm monitoring.
Personally, I would have the DR code, just before it is about to ‘kick in’ pop up one of those ‘are you human’ checks. Where you have to enter in the random text on the screen into a box. But some would say that would break the feel of the game, so maybe have it as a option.
(1) DR warning and disable box yex/no… Even time you correctly enter in the code asked for, the DR timer resets. If you choose not to have this box, well you are stuck with auto DR

Wish I could merge my old tonics, they take up a lot of bank spaces.
The change of a permanent item must be very low, most of my guild has opened about 20+ chests each since the change, and none of them have seen any permanent items
Rata Sum, the Asura Home city is the best in game for levelling a trade skill, all trade stations and the bank, guild bank and trade brokers so close!
Its the only place I use when I was levelling up trade skills
But all other times I use Lions Arch due to the free port there.
Any AOE is a good invis detector.
Invis does not last long enough for an invis detector to be needed. Increase invis by 300% then they might have to add a detector.
Guild Wars 2, the MMO that if you told new players it was a single player game and disabled the chat… they would never know it was really an MMO
Yes, but the points in the guild do not move.
When you create a guild, its automatically created on all server, but players only earn points on the current server. So when you move, the guild will still be the same but zero points and anyone who transfers back to the old server will still see the guild there and the old points
They said (need to see if I can find the link) they are adding more to your home instance, the part of your starting city that is an instance which changes based on what you did in your personnel story.
If anything, this will be the location you get a free port too, and then using quests etc, add useful things to this instance (bank, trader, crafting stations)
I just used the the black lion Axe and it gave me ruined wood. Can you confirm the the black lion tools should be able to harvest ANYTHING. As the regular orichalcum tools work but black lion tools do not on the fail tier of harvesting
Anyone else notice the auto deleveling issues with turrets?
Drop a turret in a L10 area, the turrets drops down to a L12 turret. The engineer then walks off into a L15 part of the zone and they delevel to L17. Their placed turret also delevels to L17 (even tho its STILL in a L10 area) and now it just owns EVERYTHING.
Maybe this is why the one OP was talking about was one shotting everything.
G19…at least get your facts straight…
And DR barely stops bots, but let’s just pretend for a second that it does, sure. So now, instead of having 1 bot, the botter uses 3 to make up for the lost loot. Obviously that’s a start, let’s increase the population instead of decreasing it.
G15, G19, there are a LOT of programmerable keyboard (two seconds on google would show you that the G15 IS one of them.)
And the bots its stopping is not the gold seller bots, but the players who want to get karma while they sleep and setup their char next to where an event appear and goes to bed and hopes to earn karma while they sleep. This code stops them from doing that. AFK botting is still cheating
(edited by Natjur.4017)
Turret should become ‘moveable’ by any player after 5 mins and the engineer who place them is more then 1000 metres away.
Also turrets should be named with the player who dropped them
From what I have seen
The NPC will go after the closest toon, (300 metre radius) who is doing damage (amount of damage does not mean much)
But will switch to
(Anyone rezing)
(Anyone under 40% health)
(Anyone with a shield/toughness for some reason draws more aggo, I guess this is to help player who plays as tanks, but most dungeon runs, we just go as range classes and kite as its easier then have a tank class)
So if you doing 1 attack per second and so are three other players (who are all doing more damage then you) but your health is at 30%, the mob will stay on you.
Useful to know when ‘trying’ to tank. As kiting is so much easier then tanking. If you can shoot behind you while running in a circle, and keep your low health, you can keep the aggro of the mob on you forever why the DPS burn it.
If your range also adds poison or other conditions, its even easier to keep aggro
Also buff/debuff is the same as damage, so kiting and just buffing yourself with quickness etc (as long as you don’t go more then 300 metres from the mob) will also keep it on you.
Invis will break this aggro, but LOS the boss will not (as long as your still within 300m)
(edited by Natjur.4017)
Again, I rarely post here and have been a huge supporter but I just get a sour feeling in my gut when I read a dev’s sticky post that says, “In short, we are fully committed to keeping this community free of bots” while my in-game experience is completely different. Again, until results are seen, as far as I’m concerned it’s just PR speak. I actually want to be proven wrong on this issue!
The Devs just need to tell the truth. They WANT to be fully committed but currently the botters are winning, so they will add DR and other code to slow the botters down (but slow anyone else down) while they try to work out how to fix the problem without moving all the checking code from the client back to the server as that will cost too much.
Except for “The Secret World” mmo, most MMO’s I have played over the years have been all very similar.
I am currently happy with the game EXCEPT for all the botters! Cheaters is what kills the game for me.
DR cap does slow down some botters, but they need to ‘tweek’ it a little. Like if you are offline for X hours, you get bonus time before DR cap kicks in. At the moment they current system hits 24/7 playing bots and the casual 2hr a night player just as hard.
Grinding is bad and only botters normally do it (or afk players with a G15 programmed keyboard)
So until they can remove all botters (which will never happen) DR is a start
Anet have too much Client side checks instead of Server check checks and their pricing model is also alot to blame for this.
(1) If a player spams, they get ‘blocked’ for 20 mins from any public channels, the bots do not, as the block is client side and easy to by pass.
(2) If 20+ player reports another player for botting but nothing happens. They need to ‘personally’ investigate and as this takes time, they will never do this faster then the bots can be added to the game. Until they add ‘automatic’ checks for botting, the problem will never get any better, but that means more server based checks.
(3) Banned an account means little when you can just buy another as the ban is ID only, not Visa card used or IP used.
(4) Movement checks are client side, the server is designed to handle missed packages, so if the server gets told player A is at postion X and then told a few seconds later is it at positon Y (900 metres away), it thinks it was a missed packet, it just ’fix’s the location and believe the client, this allows botts to hack the client and teleport.
There are ALOT of server based fixes they could add that a lot of other games already use, but this will mean more code is server side instead of client side and this means the servers do more work and they need more of them, and therefore costs more each month to keep running. This game is one of the few that has most of the code client side and therefore easy to ‘bypass’. I prefer monthly fee games who have high anti botting and server side based code. But you get what you pay for.
This game is free to play (with a box cost) so I guess you get what you pay for.
Anet pricing model is to sell gems and get money each month from that to pay for the servers. But this is all based on players buying gems and using it for gold to pay for the gold sinks in the game.
But the gold sellers are trying to undercut Anet on the price and so far doing a very good job of that. They have anti farming code to stop the normal users from making any gold in game, but they have very little to stop the bots. If they don’t do anything soon, they will just keep losing more and more revenue to the gold sellers instead of selling their own gems.
Bott’s take away the fun for all. They need a team set aside just to fix the bot issue via code changes, not manually banning them. You can kick players from your group, why can’t players kick botters from the zone. Make a box appear on their screen which 5 people report them and they have to enter in the code it displays on screen or be kicked from the zone
(edited by Natjur.4017)
Guild Wars 2 uses micro trans to make their money (beside the box cost) so they added heaps of gold sinks to ‘almost’ force you to buy gems and convert them to gold.
Asking them to remove theses gold sinks would mean they need to find another to pay for the servers. (eg monthly subs)
Personally, I think there are too many gold sinks, but I understand they need to make a profit to keep the game going.
Because I don’t grid for gold, I normally only have 1-2g on me at any time. And with the anti-farming code (lower drops are 10 mins kill the same mobs) I will always only have 1g….
