First of all people the Revenant is not meant to be a major damage dealer. It’s a tank and therefore does low damage like a tank does. That’s why they are full celestial. Get your heads out of the stupid meta crap and think.

You seem to be taking this very personally, everyone has a right to their opinion. Nobody is trashing it to warrant the attitude some folks are throwing back at them.

That makes sense, ha, it never even crossed my mind that it could have been content for the beta in the unannounced patches, always assumed it was just bug fixing and polish etc.

Good good, less work for Anet when things go live (hopefully).

A lot of the content if not all of it is already hidden in the .DAT file. I wouldn’t be surprised if you don’t have to download anything at all.

Nice, that’s quite efficient!

My main concern was the stress this could place on the content delivery systems because we’re obviously talking a large amount of data to download, downloaded all at once by thousands while a time constraint was in place.

But yeah that’s good to know, thanks for the info!

I have this same issue. My only solution so far is that it goes away if I change map or if I go back to character select with f11. It is really annoying and happens pretty much whenever I get on low health.

Longbow string still renders in first person post-patch.

Just reporting, I know camera programming like this can be really irritating.

In my case the system does actually favour targeting things behind me / to the side of me rather than targeting the sole enemy in front of me :/

I agree with you completely.

I’m just looking for the “official facts” to just quell this argument.

If there’s validity in the negative arguments, I want Anet to admit it, make the change (as they have proven they can do) and rectify it.

If there is no validity in it, unfortunately sour grapes it is for those who didn’t get in. There is no conspiracy or purposeful/manufactured bad luck.

In the case of the latter… getting into the beta is not going on my CV… nor will it be going on anyone elses’.

There is a lot of discussion on the forums about the drop ratio of portals and its time this was cleared up. There seems to be a lot of “I didn’t get a portal after 30+ hours into week long event” also. Patience people, lots of folks expecting to get drops immediately after event launch.

Anyway, tonight I pose a question to the CM or perhaps even the developers themselves.

Is the portal drop influenced by RNG?

1) If it is, is that RNG applied at the point of looting?

If it is applied at the point of looting, sorry to everyone who is complaining about this but that’s a pretty fair system in actuality – and more effective in practice than email invites.

or 2) Is it based on an account-wide system where other factors can influence the drop rate.

If so I would recommend making the portal item strictly independent from said influencing factors.

So much negativity over such a trivial event, please, lets clear this up.

Beta portal mob stolen!

I farmed in Dry Top and this guy runs toward my mob, kills it and I don’t get contribution. A few seconds later he links beta portal in chat and it was from my mob he looted it. He stole my beta portal! if he hadn’t attacked it I would have been the owner of that portal.
This always happens to me.

I wont give you the same flack as some others currently are.

I can appreciate your concern but the drop rates on items such as that are RNG based I believe.

Without delving into statistics and unfounded speculation, I will instead advise that he was lucky… as you may be in the coming days. It sucks that he did that to you, granted.

However, his “success” came as a fluke and not something that was guaranteed to him.

Apply this logic to yourself over the next week, you may see enlightenment (and hopefully a portal too!)

Hey guys.

I’ve noticed after the April 14th patch that episodes for Living World Season 2 are re-locked in my journal meaning I have to re-complete them to unlock the rewards etc.

I had completed episode one and was on the final step of episode 2 and as you can see in the attached screenshot, they’re re-locked.

Is this something to do with the LW:S2 (complete edition) Gem Store error perhaps?

while that does sound handy dandy, I’d imagine some people would do this by accident on some items they wouldn’t want to do this on and blame arenanet for their ‘poor design’

Ah but thats just it, I think a lot of people here are agreed that – if this were to be a feature – that it would require a confirmation box. Just to be sure.

Gathering Nodes For Dailies

They would have to be removing the nodes and replacing them on multiple maps. Can they even do this without having an update? Since there are nodes, do they go through all the maps, delete some and leave some, then replace them 24 hours later just to do it again on a next set of maps.

Non-Anet programmer here. Technically yes. It is a simple database alteration that is possible to do on the fly, albeit with possibly undesired consequences. It is possible to alter variables and have them reach the player after a simple map reload.

BUT I don’t believe Anet would/are doing this. There really is nothing in it for them to do this.

Can’t say I 100% agree with some of these points. I think its a little daft to be complaining about having to click several times on a small icon BUT… I DO agree there should be a “use all” option (with a confirmation dialog box). Just makes sense really.

I was in the event right up ’til the last boss (on an overflow server). We all got to the last couple of seconds before the boss triggered and then the the phase bugged out and prevented us from progressing forward. I wonder how we stand, whether we will get any items of any kind, I for one spent quite a few hours of my time playing the lost shores. Would be nice

Same here, on overflow (Blacktide), but in our case the guy restarts, walks forward a bit and then stops and doesn’t advance.

Nothing serious so far. They’re mainly focused on bugfixes and balancing atm from what I can tell. If you want to see the changes that have already been bade in the past 2 weeks, at least look through the patch notes here:

Yeah, no I wasn’t expecting any huge announcements. I know the game is in its infancy so I dont want to come across as one of these “why isn’t there any new content yet” guys. To be honest I figured it would mostly been balancing, but you never know what snippets of info might be released through other sources.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Wonder if the Mad King will make his GW2 debut? We’ll have to see!

Okay, I’ve loved the game so far and will continue to do so until… erm… well… actually I dont have an answer for that.

No, instead I come asking a simple question:

Ive been away for 2 weeks and am behind on all the GW2 news. Has ANet announced any new features or extras? We are all pretty excited about the future of this game and wonder what new content theyll add… and I’m probally jumping the gun haha.

Still, would be cool to hear they have finally given every player their own city to place where they want… nah kidding.

Anyway, have ANet announced any new features coming up?

I agree with OP mostly.

I am a huge Guild Wars fan, had it since day of release in the UK and loved every minute of it (was my first MMO, before finding others, but still love it). But this sequel… I hate to say it, feels much watered down. Content instead replaced by “look how beautiful everything is”.

Its disappointing to be told not to rush through content. But woah, dont take that comment on face value. I love seeing the sights in Guild Wars 2. Im overwhelmed by how much detail is in everything. From the sights and sounds of Divinity’s Reach to the rebuilt Lions Arch.

The Black Citadel to the Grove and beyond, to Orr… its all fantastic… but, to deliberately enforce a structure of gameplay that forces you to “enjoy” these sights more? Nah, sorry, I dont like that. This creates problems. If players want to grind (i dont) their way through areas, let them, they wont be able to go to areas above their level because they will be dominated by the enemies there.

Skills? Heh, yeah, Anet should take a leaf from their own book of Guild Wars 1… theres nothing here, only a few weapon skills and unlock-able skill point skills… it offers the bare minimum choice, hidden behind a “no holy trinity” justification which in todays competitive MMO market holds little ground.

I feel as an explorer, a player in general and a Guild Wars fan, that this game doesnt feel like a Guild Wars game. It feels, empty. It feels like a concept, not a game.

Additionally, most complaints i’ve seen on the forums are actually valid. This worries me. The community I experienced in GW 1 was, for the most part, stress free and easy going. There were issues sure, but we loved the game…

In this instance however, its a tone of frustration that the game doesn’t feel like its living up to its predecessors standards.

I remember listening to dev interviews and the “how GW2 will be different” trailer was AMAZING… but… its not living up to that I feel.

Bugs that go beyond launch title glitches like the entire region of Orr having all DE’s bugged so they cant be completed? Rollbacks that get ONLY a twitter response as an apology… “sorry for the inconvenience”… done, everyone’s happy now right?

I expected so much more and to a higher standard. I will continue playing, and this isnt a rant. I know how to play etc etc. I am familiar with MMO concepts etc etc. I dont play WoW so this isnt a comparison.

Also, I dont want to sound ungrateful. This game IS amazing, but, at its core,, the game needs a lot of tweaking to bring it upto the quality Gw 1 that players demand, having played the original.

Edit: I respect Anet more than words can describe for TRYING to do something new, but they fell short of greatness by a gnats wing… it would take just a few alterations to make this game an experience… but I think too many people will refuse to accept this fact.

Bug - Targeting: Can't select targets

Hey all.

I’ve been playing throughout the day and each time I do, I find I cant actually click targets and this has started since this mornings patch (18th September).

Before, I could click an enemy and from then proceed to charge or use a melee attack. Now, I cant do anything. For example, If I’m in a small group of enemies and kill one of them, I cant select another target, I’m forced to attack another opponent through use of the auto target feature.

Anyone else having this problem or is it just me. Ive relogged several times but this does not remedy issue and this persists even if selecting neutral or friendly characters.

Its at times like this I wish they had a server status page. Easily updated, saves them having to take time out to write a post to acknowledge it and we get to know the facts faster.

I feel that, if done right, it can add further depth to the game. Heck, seeing Seraph patrolling on horses wouldn’t look too out of place.

If each race has an aesthetically pleasing design (I believe one of the GW novels starts with an Asura riding on the back of a golem, for example) then it wouldn’t be so bad.

Of course, seeing everyone on mounts that are GIGANTIC OHMAHGAH SUPER MEGA DRAGON DELUXE mounts would look out of place, but im sure something could be done.

I would appreciate something a little special to go exploring on. I wouldn’t want to skip content with a mount, in fact there are lots of times I’ve thought it would be nice to speed up exploring while on a mount. I’ve enjoyed the area, I quest in it and like to complete each area 100% which requires a lot of seeing the same area over and over again…

That’s not a complaint per-se, because regardless, I’m not enjoying the environments any less… although I can see why people are concerned about people just not caring and skipping content.

There are ways to implement content-jump countermeasures however. For example, non-mount areas.

Im for it, but only if its done correctly and with dignity… not done in a way which is intended to give players something to boast about… just to ease our characters tired feet adventuring.

Bug - Skill Point: Child's Sorrow

I beleive the Child’s Sorrow skill point in Snowden Drifts isn’t working.

Iv’e been asking a few other players and checked a few guides just to confirm the location of the challenge and, sure enough, the NPC doesn’t show.

Ive seen it activate periodically (somehow), in fact ive been observing it for almost an hour now and it hasnt reset or completed in any way. Nobody can get to it.

Any feedback would be ace!
