The bug has to do with being CCd and blinking. Theres a kinda.different one with dodging that doesnt go away with emotes, but its much rarer.

I usually get the normal one if I try to Blink out of an unfinished CC (like in the air after a knockback)

Anyone who complains about the stunlock here never played wow arena. 8 sec fear, followed by 4 sec fear, followed by poly, followed by cyclone, followed by fear, and on and on. literally 10 mins of CC can be spammed waiting for heal debuff to hit.

I think the lich is the worst of the necro elites. It doesnt work in 1v1 against anything that can dodge, have an invul, or can strip boons. It certainly wont win you a 2v1unless you drop one of them and the other is stupid enough to start rezing while you pop lich. It wont win you a losing team fight since everyone will focus the big kitten neon green slow casting big dps cd.

It only works to cleave dead bodies in a fight youre aparently winning since there is a downed player, or if you can oneshot real quick a thief or mesmer with chill proc and proceed to cleave rezers.

But what would i know, i dont stream.

Rather than removing Skyhammer, let's fix it.

Because the moment the higher ups noticed there was more people in pve thats where it was decided the resources would be allocated. Trust me, if the devs had the resources (probably in terms of money and manpower) we would have better pvp. Sadly, thats how a bussiness works. I truly believe the pvp devs care about the game and wanted to give you all they promised and are sad by the outcome.

Tldr: 90% of the gw2 population is pve, so 99% of the dev time is going there

Spvp Deathmatch new mode

As we have stated many times we have tried many modes and there is a reason we ended up where we did. This is not to say we will not introduce new modes at some point, however a few notes on death match.

1) You can obviously have it without a healer.
2) Even games people consider to be DM have tons of secondary objectives (Quake 3, counter strike, Starcraft, etc.)
3) Objective based games tend to be both more total noob friendly AND more esport observer friendly as players/watchers can go/look at where the action will likely be.

Deathmatch without other objectives lacks things like a reason to engage, a way to break stalemates, and a tie breaker. It also creates much wider blowouts when someone on your team doesn’t know what they are doing (does this ever happen to you that you get a clueless teammate? Heh)

Hopefully that clears up some of our reasoning for future discussions.

C’mon they wasted like 80% of the resources alloted to them for pvp developtment probably for the year making this map. Theres no way theyre taking it out of rotation. “Sorry boss, we used the 15 bucks you gave us making this map, and now everyone hates it. Were removig it” not going to happen.
I just forget im playing gw2 and immerse myself in the next gen Bomberman thay is skyhammer. Those that had bomberman 64 will understand

Seriously tarcis. As someone who has played necro for as much, maybe more than you have played warrior that “balance” sugestion was uncalled for. Necros have long cooldowns, no vigor, and difficult disengage. DS gives us access to more skills we need on shorter cooldown. Skills that allow us to peel off enemies and honestly the best engage combo if on a hurry. Necromancers are not warriors, we cannot swap weapons every 5 secs, ee dont become invulnerable every 40-60 secs + proc and we cannot ww away every 8 secs when its rough. We cannot turn on stability when a hambow begins his wombo combo with zerker, we have to use our 48-60 sec stunbreak (god bless flesh wurm btw). Necros need fixes, yes, but taking away the survivability of the super smash bros punch bag of gw2 is not the way. Give me back pre dhuumfire necro with 4 boonstrip corrupt boon and path of corruption and il be happy. Power necro could use a lf build nerf

I took the time to write this because unlike most players the devs actually listen to you and i dont want them to take note of that sugestion.

Edit: saw u were just kidding. Btw theres a certain box for lf in khylo too… and a certain wall in skyhammer, and niflhell…

The first TOL viewer count plummeted after they gave away their free precursor. It ended up with around ~1600 viewers from 4 k viewers.

To give a comparison, the completely unsupported “violating my gamemode” wvw gvg between the top NA and EU teams pulled in comparable viewers.

I personally stopped watching because since the beginning i was saying that theres no way these troll 2 warrior overall bunker comps would end up in the finals; skill will overcome the cheese. As the tournament kept going my eyes started watering until the semi finals made me lose all hope in humanity, and just stopped watching. I didnt watch the finals, but im pretty sure someone in my TS was yelling “Stop hitting it! the tournament is already dead! T_T”.

1600 people watched the finals? really?

I honestly think NA’s scene is growing but there’s a clear gap between the “pro’s”
vs the “still learning to rotate effectively”. Part of the problem with having qualifiers spread over 4 weeks is ya gotta spread the top teams out. While this is a great chance for newer teams/players to get on stream, it also means that youre naturally going to have some lopsided matches.

The NA pvp community is not growing, its dying. Its been dying since a month into the game. All the “competitive” teams get good, realize the game isnt gonna get any better, and leave. The bad teams, that are better than the worst teams, fill in this gap and become the new “competitive” teams. People keep leaving those left notice the overall lack of skill, until you have the biggest guildwars 2 tournament qualifiers with less viewers than some guy playing earthbound. Guess im tired of being optimistic with this game lol.

ya :/ even months ago in our pug groups we were destroying pretty much everyone except 3-4 real teams and even then it was pretty close despite the fact that we barely used voip.

I think the only thing that will even marginally save the scene now is if anet makes pvp as rewarding as it was in gw1. The horde of pve farmers probably has a couple 100 decent players that could become semi-competitive if it was more rewarding than grinding content over and over.

Its too late for that. They could have promoted the game long ago, wouldve saved the pvp. They opted for a bussines model for PvE medium pop mmo. Even smite has 30k price pools for their tournaments; The developer has to create the competitive scene, they thought the community would be enough to make it.

Ive said this before. A big prize pool does not make a competitive game.

Big prize pools are offset with high viewer count, views that you can sell for sponsorships. A lot of people watching an event is a big deal for promotional value, and companies (like intel, sandisk, coca cola, red bull, etcetc) jump in and sponsor these events, in return for the advertisement value.

Without these sponsors you will just be throwing away a lot of money. Money that, honestly, none of these teams are skilled/entertaining enough to earn.
Anyway, thats besides the point. What is to the point is the fact GW2 doesnt get these kind of viewers.

Its a very spectator unfriendly game. Its hard to follow, and not fun to watch. How many concurrent views did TOL even get? at the very best? I’ll bet some guy playing Heartstone from his bedroom gets more views then an official, casted, GW2 events.

I think the first ToL got somthing like 4k viewers, by the time of this tournament the game was already pretty much dead. The game is not that unfriendly to watch; since overall strategy is what determines high level play and theres plenty of 1v1s and 2v2s.

I took something like a 2 month break and was glad to see that nothing has changed. I could still hop on to a tourney with the same build and fight the same exact comps with the same exact builds.
People take this for granted and cry for changes and balancing, but they dont realize that when they take a 5 year break from this game and they feel nostalgic, theyll just be able to hop right back into the game and play the exact same thing. Try doing that with failures like wow.
Anyways gtg, my q for skyhammer popped. Thank you for the consistency Anet!

Am i the only one that actually learned to time other player’s skills instead of watching them on their character? looking at buffs and estimating cooldowns? yesterday i dodged 5 evicerates in a row from an asura war just by looking at my cooldowns every so often to know when 5 secs pass (i am aware that evic has a 10 sec cd)

The only actual visual animation i look out for is the giant blue aura when anyone heals to interrupt it, and obvious casted skills like ele casting meteor shower, killshot, and stupid stuff like that.

This is not bragging, this is just how I though most people played; by knowing the class theyre fighting. And no, im not a 90% pve hero noob.

So what happen’s when you face a good Warrior, last night I had Warrior using Soldier’kitten me for 6125+1700 (Lightning Strike) using evic, I was running bunker Ranger, now tell me how is that fair I couldn’t see him coming there was allot of AoE to point where I couldn’t even see myself.

i dont see how my argument is any different against a good warrior. i face good warriors. Ill make it easier for you: target the warrior, if you see 3 stacks of intelligence on his bar that evic is coming

Take if when you face a Warrior you have pack of Winny Red’s tucked under the sleeve of your shirt while rocking the mullet.

I just read this and I lol’d cause you’re one of those “elite pro’s” who talks out of their kitten . Do you really think a warrior uses evicerates on CD LOL? Don’t be stupid, under pressure it hard to notice animations on auras

The current warrior evic meta uses int sigils with soldiers amu. so yes, they evic on cd so they can use the int sigil on the actual evic and the air proc. im not an “elite pro” i just learn through playing hundreds of warriors and learn the pattern.

On the topic of axe i think they designed it as a weapon for minion necros. Stack vulnerability with an AA that doesnt do much, but the minion will hit 10-16% harder even if youre using tanky stats since minions dont scale from stats. On that same thought its not meant to be a berserker weapon since it takes time for it to reach it maximum damage stacks, so its intended for longer fights, with the minions doing more and more damage.
The weapon is ranged, you dont really need the cripple, the cripple on 3 is there for your minions.
The number 2 is nice. Anyways the weapon is outclassed completely by dagger mh, if you know what youre doing you are really hard to kite (this goes for wvw and pvp)

On the topic of axe, i think they designed it as a weapon for minion necros. Stack vulnerability with an AA that doesnt do much, but the minion will hit 10-16% harder even if youre using tanky stats since minions dont scale from stats.
The weapon is ranged, you dont really need the cripple, the cripple on 3 is there for your minions.
The number 2 is nice. Anyways the weapon is outclassed completely by dagger mh, if you know what youre doing you are really hard to kite (this goes for wvw and pvp)

It shouldn’t exist as a minor in any tree. As a major in BM sure, it could potentially help out condi builds and bring them to the tree along with the rework of Vampiric that’s been proposed since the beginning of time.

Yes, the whole traitline should be reworked.

My logic behind making it a minor is that this trait makes so little difference in the outcome of a fight no one would actually take it over any other trait. Its just something nice to have as an extra along the way

Just a note, the current trait would not be good to put into Blood Magic as a minor. We hit the same issue as the old Reanimator, you have a trait in a tree that many, many builds do not want (most blood magic builds don’t care about dealing damage OR doing it through condis).

I agree, i jsut dont like this trait at all. It could be reworked, the least amount of healing that i could see it doing to be useful would be 15%, and still as a minor trait somewhere. If this was the case and it was in blood magic i would consider using it.

I just want to throw this trait out the window, but they wont delete it so easy

Im nemi. Im probably one of the heaviest theorycrafter necros (where are my kitten steady weapons?!) I just dont share my builds. So today I want to talk about parasitic contagion, that masterpiece trait, and before I start you guys should know I only pvp, so if im not taking into consideration world bosses or wtv dont flame me for that.
Last time I made one of these threads I sugested that necro should have a way to apply burning, and that it should be applied on lifeblast to make DS a more significant mechanic. I even sugested it should be called hellfire…. lol. That was way before dhuumfire.

So parasitic contagion, our beautiful new spite tree trait, is completely useless. Lets run some very simple numbers for anyone to understand. It does 5% worth of condi dmg in healing. This means if 2 necros with the same condition damage are fighting, the one with parasitic contagion would have to apply 20 bleeds to offset one stack of bleed that necro applies on him, and thats without being poisoned. No amount of AoE in pvp will make this trait worth it considering it wont heal you if your condis tick while in DS.

So what do we do with this trait? well this trait is actually good but it doesnt belong in spite. Spite is the power and hybridization tree. This trait belong in the Blood Magic tree with the rest of the leeching traits. It should actually be a minor trait; move vampiric to 1 (remove Full of Life) and make parasitic contagion trait 3.

So now we removed this trait. What would be our XIII trait in spite?
well, I already mentioned spite is our power and hybridization tree. Close to Death (XII) is a power trait, Dhuumfire (XI) is a condi trait, so now we just need the hybrid trait. I propose a trait that converts 30% of condi dmg into power, but anet doesnt like big number changes… so lets compromise, lets make it 25% condi dmg into power (see what I did there?). All of a sudden you get a completely new condi necro with carrion amu that is relatively squishy and has less CC to defend himself, but can pop into lich form and strip boons from enemies, AA cleave for 5k and even does 10% extra dmg if the enemy has 5 condis on him (Target the Weak). Throw some wells in there and baby youve got yourself a stew going.

So I wrote this so some of you can have some fun reading what a fun class would be. Think of it as Theorycrafting fanfic. Anet doesnt really care about the ideas we post here since they pay people to do this and it would be a waste of money if theyre listening to us instead of their employees.

I like conquest. TDM is not enjoyable, we need objectives. Off the top of my head:

How about a KotH central node, with secondary objectives that decap or fullcap the node.

Or a 10 sec channeling point in the enemy base to win the match, with secondary objectives to get defenses on the base or something.

How about running a banner to the enemy base, the flag stacks a buff that kills the carrier when it reaches 10 (like the hammer fractal)

How about a game mode where every class but warrior uses hammer and warriors have to survive for 15 minutes with no stability (my favorite)

It cant be that hard

I think your sugestions are fine, and i really like the idea of vigor on boon removal.

Boon removal/corruption is supposed to be the necromancers strength. Most popular classes like guardian, ele and warrior have the ability to gain boons rather fast and many of them. Corrupt boon is our strongest anti-boon utility and is still rather good. Any necro should bring this to team arena if he/she wants to be useful. I do not think that they should revert it back to corrupt all boons but rather prioritise certain boons like stability and/or aegis.

With the change to dhuumfire i think that reverting grasp of the dead and mark of blood back to 3 bleeds each would be in its place. Its already hard to cover-condition bleeds and they would be nice to have back for a little extra condi-burst. If this happens – it might even be worth going back to mark of evasion in blood magic (also got nerfed with the mark of blood change).

Staff as a weapon is great – but the AA is unreliable and one of the worst AA’s in the game. I would like it to be more like mesmer staff AA without the bounce effect. Remove the piercing effect and reduce the cast time. We need more reliable ways of gaining life force especially with condition builds. Power builds do this just fine.

yes! this is what I was trying to say in my comment. I agree that corrupting all boons is too strong, but the main reason to bring corrupt boon is to corrupt stability, it should really be prioritized instead of avoided in the corruption order.

Hello! ive also been playing necro since prerelease and have like 3k tourneys played as necro.

I think your sugestions are fine, and i really like the idea of vigor on boon removal.

I literally fell asleep watching the finals and woke up at 4:00am not really caring who won. I expected that was how it was gonna end. Yes, NA proved to be the boring region. Yes NA cheeses to win.

What I really hate is that this game has nothing to show for if youre good or not… People know you through the community and the word spreads who is good and who isnt, so prestige is what counts. The finals got no prestige to the winner and second place, if anything they lost it. no one is congratulating them on their skill. So congratulations on your legendary? your bunker skills are amazing?

I dont have dishonored. Got it once because of electrical inestability in my country but that was several weeks ago, and it only drove me to play other games for much loger than the diahonored debuff duration. Maybe this leaver problem is more prevalent in the lower rankings? I rarely see it.

Rank used to mean time played. Everyone likes to say rank doesnt say anything about a player, but that is just not true. I have met many bad rank 60 players (prepatch) but never have i found one of these legendary pro rank 30s that the people in the forums like to talk about.

They removed the ranks for the pve crowd. All the pvp crowd is now 80 and dont need to see it,so it is just a QQ number now

Ok, didnt realize there was so many people with hurt feelings over leavers, guess it just doesnt happen as much to me.

How about they keep the dishonored debuff in soloq, and they take it off Teamq.

By the “should” logic im receiving here, only people with full premades should be playing in tpvp. If someone disconects, hell even ragequits, its the whole premade’s fault for bringing him along and they all pay with a loss.

I understand the need to punish leavers and afkers, but anet you need to tweak this system. First, it doesnt work. No one “leaves” a match because theyre losing. People that leave usually have conection issues, actual players that want to leave the match just afk at spawn.

Second, people are being punished for your server inestability. People that crash or cant enter a tourney are the ones getting the debuff. Ive been around for a while and remember the good ol days of the loading screen boss; just imagine the amount of dishonorable i wouldve got back then.

There are 3 simple solutions for this. The best way would be to actually respond to reports on afkers, and have a human being judge if the leaver is deserving on the dishonorable debuff. I know this would require too many resources, so the second solution would be a smaller penalty, you leave one match you get 1hr timeout. People can /spit at you and know youre a leaver for that hour and your head can cool off from wtv reason it was you left. I think the best solution would be to remove the dishonorable debuff alltogether. Leavers are not that big of a problem, and a lost match wont kill anyone. Its not like this game will ever be esports anyways.

I consider necro to be balanced currently, dhuumfire change was good and the new traits fill the void of the nerfs we got to balance dhuumfire. As someone who has played necro since prerelease im happy this patch.

The people QQing about the fears will learn to counter it, its very easy. Its so easy to counter that I expect necro to stop using nightmare soon. Stopped using those a while ago
