In nearly every defense/attack situation in WvW, specific classes using their invulnerability/0dmg/block/stability skills can jump you, attack your siege weapons (like catapults or trebs) and then respawn to come back doing the same – or even mistformsuperskillwtfdidyouthinkwhenimplementing back into the tower/keep to redo what they did. The same thing applies to dolyak farmers, supply camp cappers and rezbanner-throw-rotation-ppl. This is ridiculous, has NOTHING to do with warfare and is only messing things up big times.

While repair costs at the moment are nothing important, the removal of them will make things even worse, especially considering the new 5-stacks-per-kill-system. I therefore suggest you quadtribledouble the repair costs to like 10s per death. This will clear things up, stop people from ridiculous actions and actually makes surviving worth it.

These tactics just kitten me off, its ridicuously stupid. Make an end to it!

So they have indicated that something is planned and that it will come out within the next few updates. Yeah. It’s like someone was saying that somewhere someday something will happen. We need a statement like “we will do THIS in THAT update”. Everything else is useless.

I know it’s kinda lame to revive an old thread, especially by quoting myself, but anyways – NOTHING happened here, precursors are rising AGAIN. If you aren’t lucky to get one or if you aren’t playing the TP or if you aren’t mindlessly farming the hell out of your free time, there is NO chance to get a legendary atm. It’s just ridiculous.

You are kidding, right? There is this update where fractals get patched and the 2 things that somehow matter for us are a) rewards and b) skins. It was anounced that fractals will be worth to run in terms of gold and then we get like 1gold for the ENTIRE RUN? And then: It was anounced that skins drop in boxes so that you can chose your skin of choice. AND THEN THEY CANT EVEN DROP YET?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

Okay, I’ll calm down. Calm down Noerknhar. Calm down. But now seriously: for GODS SAKE what on earth made you think it was a good idea to anounce a freaking fractal skin box if it can’t even drop yet?!

For over two weeks now I am reporting botters in cursed shore on a daily basis – always the same accounts, always the same characters running always the same routes killing everything they see without responding to map, say or whisper chat while behaving “bot like” (you just see the difference). Doesn’t anet want us to report people? Why are my reports being ignored on a constant basis? Don’t get reports for german servers get any attention at all?

Some things in this thread will be obvious, some things will be my personal opinion only. Nevertheless I think that most of you will agree to the key parts of what I’m going to state now.

I. The current smallscale meta:
The only thing you see when roaming are thieves, stunlock warriors and mesmers. While it’s not only that they have great survivability and damage output, they also keep running away when going below 25% hitpoints. Without being one of them yourself, chasing them is near impossible. Thieves and mesmers will hide/port away, warriors will charge away with GS. All of ’em will remove snaring conditions as soon as they pop up, so running after them is near impossible. Balancing classes according to sPvP brought this into the game, introducing ruins got them to WvW.

II. Skilllags are ridiculous:
Even before the season startet, skilllags were a huge matter that shouldn’t have been ignored. Large fights of 3 factions were absolutely useless as noone was able to use skills at all. The recent season start brought new achievements and thus a huge lot of (new) players to play WvW. How comes that noone from ANet said “Stop the season, it will make things worse”? Didn’t you think of the fact that you basicly ruined your complete end game playstyle? Right now, even 2way 30vs30 fights bring massive skilllags that make you want to move around every encounter you might get. It just makes no sense at all to even engage enemies with these huge skilllags.

III. The new map – are you kidding me?
While I completely understand that a coming release in China will make the queue situation worse, I completely disagree with a new map solving your problems. What will this new map lead to? First of all, it has been anounced to be a fantastic new map with a lot of opportunities for different playstyles in WvW. Why do you create such a “fantastic and awesome” new map only for the queues? It will result in players actually trying to join that map instead of EB or BLs, stealing needed manpower for the actual WvW maps. Besides that, don’t you think that creating more and more WvW maps for everyone in even more skilllags? Huge server lags will be incoming as soon as more players engage each other in even more WvW maps, making the current situation even worse. And – let’s be honest – I don’t think queues will be the biggest problems for the upcoming asian release. If the skilllag situation will stay the same, there won’t be enough players to make a new map necessary at all.

TL;DR: Don’t only play thief/warrior/mesmer when roaming. ANet fix skilllags and stop releasing “huge new maps” because queues aren’t the biggest problem WvW players encounter and those new releases make skilllags even worse (if that’s possible).

As I was saying, my reference for this post were the livestream notes taken by dulfy. Of course, there will be other changes, but the feeling I – and I think also others – get aint really good at all. Yes, we will have more concrete information when the patch hits live, but this still bothers me. Especially the “staff ele doesnt have enough utility” statement just hits every necromancer in his or her face.

First of all, I have to say that I play necromancer since beta. It’s one of the most awesome classes in game, even tho it has been ignored by the developers for over half a year. We had some pretty fancy changes then, making the class more competetive and more fun overall. We didn’t have a complete class overhaul that would have been necessary as other classes had tho.

Regarding the upcoming changes that’ll ship in about 12hours (I take http://dulfy.net/2013/10/14/gw2-october-14-developer-livestream-notes/ as my reference), I have mixed feelings. This are not the complete patchnotes, but I guess it will pretty much sum up what’s happening to the classes.

When reading those livestream notes by dulfy, the first thing that really got my attention was elementalists getting a line of warding. Until now, only guardians have such a line and necromancers have “something similiar”. Our spectral wall cannot be passed without stability which makes it usefull for pretty much the same situations. I’m only talking about the offensive abilities now, not the boons granted. Why exactly does elementalist get one of those lines too? Having a “you may not pass!”-line was making guardians and necromancers special in a tactical way. Now that elementalists get the same somehow will decrease the tactical benefit you gain from having necromancers with you in WvW. Also, the argumentation why eles get a line of warding lacks in a huge lot of ways. “Staff elementalist doesn’t have enough utility”. Are you freakin’ kidding me? Smallbless, Bigbless, lots of explosion finishers, lots of other finishers, staticfield (BEST CC in game!), highest radius AoE damage, freeze, cripple, … What utility does necromancer have exactly? Well, we have a freeze and some poison. We also have cripple and one explosion finisher that only triggers if enemies are around. We have plague (makes up for tornado I guess) and we have DS#4 as heal. And, yes, we have spectral wall. So where’s our utility in comparison? Where’s our Smallbless, Bigbless, where are our combo finishers? We don’t even have a stability utility skill. Your argumentation does not make sense at all. And please, think about how the battles will be for us now. There already are a lot of lines of warding, spectral walls, statics and other “you may not pass”-things on the battlefield. Without stability, you’re merely able to move at all. And now every staff elementalist will get another “haha, you’re a necromancer”-skill. Good job Anet.

The next things you see when reading those notes is the amount of condition removals that are ADDED to the game. Guardian’s can now lower the condition duration for 20% when using a condition removal, mesmers even get more condition removals (in addition to nullfield, lol). I know that playing condition in WvW is useless, but it still is fun. Now it’s becoming even more useless and less fun. Good job Anet.

The last thing is about thieves. Well, I don’t want to make this a flame post about thieves (even tho I think the thieve-dev is just laughing the entire day about all other devs that their classes aren’t as ridiculous as his is), but seriously: Another explosion finisher AND two immobilize-removals? Immobilize is like the only thing that you can kill a “I’m stealthed and I port away for like 3000 ingame units every 5 seconds”-thieve. Why exactly does a thieve need such skills then? Because they were bugged? kitten it, make those bugs a feature kitten .

Yes, yes, this is some kind of emotional for me. I mean I’m playing necromancer for over a year now and – except for a few patches – all I see is other classes getting more boons, more condition removals, more stability, more usability. What do we get? A HUD change so we can see our lifeforce pool. Awesome. Thanks a lot.

While I do also think that all those different styles and combinations are not possible to be taken care of for all classes and races and all different armor types, I don’t really understand why it’s not possible to check hairstyles and “obviously race inspired” (flower backpiece for example) for that race’s cultural armor. I sure hope that this will be taken care of for future releases of – at least – hairstyles.

We had some awesome action on VZ border yesterday evening. Thanks for the amazing battles you both gave us in Dreadfall Bay. It was a great thing for us to be able to finally cap the bay back to t0, but you sure gave us a hell of a time there. We from [NO] used the claim as a breakpoint for our evening raid so I guess you had no problem in getting it from us.

Thanks also for the nice guild-vs-blob fights and my respect to DYE who don’t die easily.

Greeting to the “death body dancing” camp flipping party from MS [NO]. no respect to you, hope you have a bad week.

We are actually having a great time against you guys. We’re getting tons of loot and tons of WXP (well, as long as you’re worth something, which doesn’t take long to get to 0). The only thing missing is a real good and competetive guild group. I’m not online every evening, but I haven’t seen one yet :/ (except for maybe SLAY or whatever. Haven’t seen them often tho)

Just so that I know, if you really hate your server because you are kittened or something and start claiming towers and strongholds just so that other guilds cant claim them (such blocking buffs and such), is that some kind of griefing that you can be reported for?

The funny thing is that you can actually move, chat etc. and that only skills are affected. I know it’s been said that this is due to CPU limitations, but seriously, fix your kitten code, your kitten servers or whatever – at least before the season begins! It’d be a shame to start a competetive season with these server issues.

I’ve reported a bug where you were able to level a character to 80 within 20-30minutes. Will those people doing that massively (I know of guys cheating up to 5 or 6 characters to lvl80 that way) be banned? I mean…seriously…do something!

Ah by the way, why don’t you pull out a hotfix for something like that? I mean it’s more than gamebreaking, isn’t it?

Thanks for the comment flow. I understand that confusion is available for the necromancer by “turning” retaliation via corrupt boon or corruption well. What’s your opinion on gear on a Dhuum/Terror build?

Having a look at the perplexity runes I am unsure how to cause confusion by using the 6/6 as necromancer. You say fear does not work; do we have any other options (which i doubt)?

I’ve never played full rabid, so I can just say what I think will happen. At the moment, when I’m in WvW and I get attacked by e.g. a thief or a ranger, I can simply place my conditions on them and then burst the hell out of them in DS. To be more specific, my bleedings tick with about 85-88, so that’s exactly what my current gear/spec is meant to be. I’m 30/30/0/0/10 and it’s really funny to play this way, but there’s a major problem: survivability. Since I only have about 1250tough and 1440vitality, I get hits that are brutally high. Of course, my 25k healthpool helps a bit, but I really die to quickly – especially in zerg situations. That’s exactly why I’m looking for a different spec and gear combination. So full rabid seems – dhuumfire! – to be pretty fun. But I can’t help it, but I really think that there actually is no burst at all. If you play against someone that’s pretty bursty, you’re gonna go down. Right? Like a thief or something. You know what I mean?

I think i’ll just have to try it out. But I’ll also think that I’ll stay at 30/30/0/0/10 for the moment. By the way, why go 30/20 when playing conditions? Don’t you think scepter conditions deserve to last 33% longer?

I really have a bad feeling about full rabid gear. I mean all direct damages you deal are completely useless with that gear. There is nearly no burst at all, DS 1 and 4 are useless, scepter 3 is useless, staff marks (except for the condition effects) are useless. In 1on1 you are useless.
I atm play a mixture of condition/powcrit but im nearly a glass cannon, having 1250tough and 1440vit. I do understand the rabid thing, but in all situations aside the zerg, you’re dead, aren’t ya?

Quick update.

We had a fix that appeared to solve the issue in this build but it may only be solving it for new characters. A more comprehensive fix is being worked out on our internal servers and we are working towards getting this live asap.

Only solving for new characters? That totally sounds like “ah, I have no idea why it doesn’t work, let’s just increase downstate HP by x% for all (newly created) necromancers and we’re done”. Try to focus less on other classes and maybe bring SOME attention to the necromancer. ATM it fells like some kind of trainee is responsible for us while the rest of your development team focuses on the other professions.

As far as i understand him, he’s complaining about the well known sigil of corruptionbug that causes the sigil to stop working after you’ve been downed in an area. Quickfix: re-equip your weapon, it should work then until you’re downed the next time.

Oh okay, so just because i can deal damage in DS means that everything else that mist form is superior in is absolutely fair?

so dealing damage is equal to being immune to direct dmg, immune to cc, able to stomp, able to be healed and able to switch weapons?

Sorry, but I can’t take that as your serious statement. Guess you’re playing ele?

There is no reason to say deathshroud and mistform are something different. There is no reason to not be able to stomp or rez or swap weapons in deathshroud.

In my opinion, this can only be cause by bad design or a bug.

Comparing mistform (elementalist) to deathshroud (necromancer):
stomp: yes (ele), no (necro)
rez: no (ele), no (necro)
change attunement = switch weapons: yes (ele), no (necro)
be healed by fellow players: yes (ele), no (necro)

Fix plz. Best solution would be to allow necromancer to do what ele and engineer can, but IDC as long as it’s fair.

(the same applies to engineer’s elixir S).

I simply don’t want to live with the fact that necromancer obviously is still in beta testing. We have like 1/3 of the HP we should have in downstate and we can’t shroudrez/shroudstomp. ANet, please deliver. Also, give us back our weaponswitch in DS. No reason at all to not allow us to switch weapons in DS. Elementalists can switch atunement in mistform. Is that fair?
