I just noted, that with the topic “What-the-EFF-is-this” there is already a thread about this. As the search function isn’t really functioning, I couldn’t see this.

The gemshop wants us to believe, that 5 BLC keys were at 625 gems and now are available for 337 gems. Same with 25 keys for 3125 gems.
This is wrong. The prices are calculated from 1 BLC key and then just multiplied. But before the 26% (which are actually 25%) the prices where:
1 key: 125 gems
5 keys: 450 gems (450 * 0.75 = 337,5 gems)
25 keys: 2100 gems (2100 * 0.75 = 1575 gems)
I kinda thought, this is a false display which would make one believe “Oh wow! When I buy 25 keys, I have a discount of 50%!” because 1575*100/3125 = 50.4 (means 49.6% discount) whereas it really is 1575*100/2100=75% (which means 25% discount).
Too bad there really isn’t much done for roleplayers at all. At least I have the feeling.
I also have to draw the characters weapons more often manually when being in a roleplay session.
Some sort of roleplay skills would be nice. No cooldown at all, but also no damage done/effects given/whatsoever. So you can use them as often and as fast as you want in roleplay ;D
Hey everyone,
I’d like to ask for some statements about an idea I just had.
Wouldn’t it be great if we could customize the filename of the screenshot? E.g. with variables?
Currently it’s a plain boring gwxxx.jpg (or .bmp). I’m one of those who saves screenshots for different things. But with the name it’s near impossible to find a specific screenshot, if you don’t rename them on the spot.
Now imagine you could give the filename a variable which makes the Zone you’re currently in into the filename. E.g. “Bitterfrost Frontier xxx.jpg” or even better “Bitterfrost Frontier – Black Ice Pass xxx.jpg”
In the option settings, one would be able to set up the filename. Either entering nothing, where it stays with gwxxx.jpg then or using variables like Zone, Area, current Charakter or some more things.
What do you think?
Sure, kill a species which is at peace for 259 years now just because of why not?
Oh I know the “because”. Because humans are stupid and attack everything native without a reason but sole greed.
Please go play something else or at least read the lore of Guild Wars 2.
At first I thought it’s just not saving my password, but it does. Just like OP is telling it’s just not logging in automatically anymore.
Can we please have it back?
The pattern is, that there are achievements for characters below level 80 and achievements for characters level 80.
They are marked with min and max level in the API
English support helped me within 1! day! Great guys
I got my BLC keys.
How do I do that? Do I only have to change the language once I’m logged in at help.guildwars2.com?
Not correct, or the CS Team would not find it qualified to send out replacement duplicate Black Lion Chest keys.
I’m not sure why you’d argue about it; the CS Team will send BLC Keys for duplicate Noran’s Pass bundles. That’s a fact.
Not for me. (German) support just told me, that, because Norans Pass was a seasonal item, they will not reimburse me any keys at all because the seasonal item is now the Zaishen War Paint Kit.
I don’t know what this should have to do with my ticket (#6410348 btw if any other supporter want to take a look at it). Can’t understand why they argue with someone and make him disappointed, whos paying money at them every month (yes, I do like to open black lion chests)
@ all people who gave me support:
Thank you. I’m glad, there are still players who understand my situation.
@ all saying it’s my fault because of my build:
You are surely one of those players having such a Mesmer character, looking around in WvW for single players and run after them to kill them to get your hand full of XP. Great job done, really.
My PvP rank is 6, my WvW rank is 47. You know why? Because I don’t care for PvP or WvW, I’m a PvE player. But more often it seems to be much easier to do one of the WvW dailys to complete three daily quests to get the gold. This is the only reason my WvW rank is 47 (this and once completing a reward track for the final chest).
You know what I do, when I see an enemy who is close to the spot where e.g. I’m waiting for the Veteran creature? Nothing, as long as he also doesn’t do anything. More often I had moments, where I waited for a Veteran with an enemy close by and when the creature appeared, we killed it together and parted ways afterwards without killing each other (or in this case probably only me), even so we hit each other some during the fight.
So yes, there are players who aren’t killing a WvW noob like me on sight. Thanks to those players. To all others: Have fun at your life which consists of making the game bad for the few players who aren’t spending dozens of hours a day of optimizing their build.
Sorry, but WvW is NEVER fun when I’m trying to do my dailys there.
Again I was downed from one another player within a SECOND! while being a guardian myself. And again I couldn’t hit the enemy the slightest because it was immune to my attacks.
This happens way too often. This can’t be right. This MUST be a bug. And nobody can blame me because of any “bad” build. I don’t care about builds. It MUST not be possible, that I can be downed within a second from a series of unstoppable attacks while I can do NOTHING against it.
It doesn’t even help when I’m doing the dailys with a friend, as we are BOTH downed within mere seconds.
Please do something against this. I don’t care about crying Mesmer-players now. Bring balance into something that must be fun for anyone.
I had the same problem with Noran’s Safe Room Pass…
Now I have four of them in my bank. I’ve send a few tickets over the ingame ticket system, though nothing changed.
https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/build
This should help you.
I noticed that I can change the ear proportions however i want, but the lower ears always stay kinda rectangular shaped in the end.
That looks very irritating :-/
A simple “fix” would be to lower the resolution ingame.
I’m playing at 2560×1440. I don’t know about your graphic card, but depending on your settings, you might not have much FPS at all with 4k.
Hello everyone!
I have a little question. After I had some luck with a Black Lion Chest, I got a few gold.
Now Eternity was something I thought about then and when.
My question is, which way would be the “better” way:
- Buying Sunrise OR Twilight and craft the other one from the scratch
- Buying Dawn AND Dusk and craft both legendaries
I might be able to do one of those two possibilities and like many others I want to have the least possible work afterwards for creating the Legendaries.
Thanks for your opinion :)
I do wonder if the resolution is the problem or the size of the monitor.
I have a 32" running at 2560×1440 and I don’t have any problem with my UI (which is set to normal size):

I also wonder, how many FPS are left when playing on 3840×2160, depending on GPU
Hey everyone,
according to https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bloodstone the Bloodstone was “split into five pieces to limit the races’ ability to use magic. The first four segments rule over its respective school of magic: Preservation, Aggression, Denial, and Destruction. The fifth fragment, the keystone, is required if one were ever to make the bloodstones one.”
I’m rather sure we can say, it was not the keystone which exploded. But which other stone was it?
Does it have an effect on all those magic users connected to that kind of magic?
I know that these days the old separation of magical school doesn’t exist anymore exactly like this, but the magic users still can be classified to one of those schools.
You can, IF you’ve attuned to the waypoints you wish to use. In (nearly) all of the game, you have to reach a waypoint the old fashioned way first, and it becomes attuned to you, or you to it. Then, and only then, can you use that waypoint.
Then either the waypoint needs to store some kind of signature from you or the other way around the waypoint imprints something onto your magical aura (like stated below), enabling you to synchronize with that specific waypoint.
Remember the movie “Terminator”, and how the time machine could only transport living materials, or things contained in a living material?
Then one couldn’t take his backpack or armor with him if not taking this aura into account. So I do like the idea of that.
Finally, I get the impression that gates take power to keep open. And the bigger they are, the harder it is to make them stay open for very long. The ones the asura use are at the balance of power/useful size.
As far as I know it takes more power depending on how far away the destination is. Within those gates there must exist a reasonable power source. Naquadria? ;D
I think the waypoints work best if you assume that, for a moment, they make Point A and Point B so similar, that it doesn’t matter which one you’re at. You start at Point A, it becomes just like Point B, and then suddenly you’re at Point B.
Reminds me a little bit of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_entanglement
So Asura Gates could be described as being more technical than magical while a waypoint works the other way aroud, using more magic.
Another limitation here is that every NPC we see travel through a waypoint has to walk up to one first. The whole ‘open your map and teleport at will’ mechanic seems to be strictly gameplay, not lore. So if you can’t get to a waypoint, or don’t know where one is…
Question would be: what exactly is this flying thing at the waypoint? Technical help for traveling through the waypoint system? Does it also automatically ‘steal’ your money and transfers it into Rata Sum?
Hey everyone,
a lot of roleplayers have a problem with waypoints.
Asura gates are out of question. They connect two specific points and you can move through it with as many mass as you want, as long as you can pay for it. Gate keepers take care of the gates.
Waypoints are more difficult there. They are all built on leylines. So technically they span across all Tyria. And it seems, that the Asura have built them. But that leaves a lot of questions:
- why can’t you just travel from one end of Tyria to the other one then?
- how much mass can you transport via the waypoint system?
- why using gates at all, when you could transport a bigger mass through them, if techncially possible?
- Asura gates function like a wormhole I would say. But how do waypoints work? Like a transporter in Star Trek, where you’re disassembled into your atoms and the transfered through the leyline to another waypoint and there you are reassembled?
- when the Asura only by accident mapped the ley lines of Tyria by placing the waypoints, how did they know at all about this kind of transportation? When living underground they, as far as I know, only had the gate system.
I hope I can find opinions we can talk about!
I would like to show a suggestion, how an endpoint could look for reading a chatlog.
I know I probably miss many source_details of some message types, but it’s a start I hope

Hello everyone,
at https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Languages_of_Tyria there is beneath many more information the following written down:
The history of the Tyrian language goes back to ancient history, at least to the very last cycle of the Elder Dragons’ awakening over 11.000 years ago.
But how did the Asura learn about it? They appeared only a little over 200 years ago on the surface of Tyria. Do we assume, that the Asura still learned the Tyrian language long ago? Otherwise they couldn’t have understood a thing (or in this case a Bookah) when they appeared in GW1.
My guess is, that they learned about the language from at least the Dwarfes back then.
Just after I posted this thread, it appeared again on the same piece of map in Dry Top: https://i.imgur.com/7e8xfNC.jpg
Hi everyone,
did anyone else notice a small Ley-line Anomaly appearing all over Tyria?
I had it in several locations now:
Dry Top: https://i.imgur.com/LXMyL2V.jpg
Dry Top: https://i.imgur.com/IxFXS5f.jpg
Dredgehaunt Cliffs: https://i.imgur.com/8Umc16K.jpg
Rata Sum (Home Instance): https://i.imgur.com/TyTzEGc.jpg
What’s happening there? First I thought “hmm maybe it’s soon before the Ley-Line Anomaly appears” but it was during an uneven hour like right now.
Am I seeing ghosts of the past or future?
I teleported to Ground Zero Waypoint. My goal was the Leyline which goes straight up. I jumped into the air, opened my glider.. and within HALF of a second, I was hit from three enemies. Before I reached the Leyline there were another two. And when I was gliding up IN the leyline, four more rocks hit me and I was dead. its NOT funny.
Addition: when you land somewhere, you can’t port anymore at all because you’re always in fight with the one having thrown a rock at you. I jumped into death more than once just to be able to teleport again.
It takes them ONE second to aim and hit you when you start flying. No escape. Not even when falling down STRAIGHT. Not even when flying behind rocks. Skill 4 is useless because you can’t always look 360 degrees around you. This makes the map stupid as hell.
Hi everyone,
multiple times now I was killed right in the air because of those homing rocks thrown from the White Mantle. It doesn’t matter how far I am away from them. They throw rocks at me from like 5000 distance away and they have auto-hit. I cannot fly away from them it seems, like they have homing missiles inside those rocks.
I somehow think that can’t be correct.
Hello everyone,
the package gives you 2 Black Lion Claim Ticket Scraps and 10 Black Lion Chest Keys.
Now I wonder, that I didn’t get any other additional Black Lion Claim Ticket Scrap out of these 10 chests. (Though there is the minimal chance, that I mistook a 3 for a 2 when I placed the scraps in my bank, but even then it would have been just one more scrap out of 10 chests)
Was that just bad luck? Or shouldn’t be there any more scraps inside because you already got 2?
I still would like to be able to read all the chats
So others don’t should know that you read their texts, even so they don’t know that you’re there? That is unfair.
“Invisible” is not “offline”.
In my opinion, invisible is “I don’t want to be seen or contacted because I want to do things undisturbed”
Being invisible is exactly that, you cannot be target of a whisper, you cannot whisper to others and you cannot talk in Guild chats. You only can talk to where you currently are, in /say or in /map.
So when I record my own clicking for like 60 seconds and also record the delays between clicking, I could repeat my “own” clicking for a minute all over again. At least in theory.
Then again I have seen enough threads about people being banned even so they claim, they have not used third party software.
Maybe I better buy me that bird-toy from the Simpsons which did Homers job from home much better than himself.
Hello everyone,
for the Thirst Slayer Achievement I’d like to buy lots of Stein of Ale’s and then drink them.
Problem is, that I cannot rightclick the stack and say consume all, so not only I have to doubleclick to buy one Stein of Ale, I also have to doubleblick to consume 1 Stein of Ale, which makes 4 clicks for one beer.
I thought about using a macro programm and give it exactly one step to repeat indefinitely: mouseclick on position x/y.
Question is: would that be allowed?
If not, couldn’t at least all drinks get the “Consume all” option?
as much as I understood so far, achievements first needs to be whitelisted from the devs in order to appear in the API.
Then again I also read that daily achievements should be whitelisted automatically.
Hi everyone,
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/API:2/achievements
there is a property missing. A very few achievements have Coins as a reward type. See https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/achievements/1840
I was unsure if I should just edit the wiki page.
PS: achievement 1840 is listed in the examples and is missing Coins as well in the rewards.
Hello everyone,
The current list (https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/achievements/daily) lists achievement 1839 twice. The thing is: Daily Kryta Vista Viewer isn’t even one of the dailys today. And it also doesn’t count if you do it. There are some more PvE dailys listed, which don’t count. And every day the list changes and lists too many points.
The jumping puzzle which would be a daily today isn’t listed at all and from what I could see, the jumping puzzle isn’t listed at all inside all the 2455 achievements currently available. I only was able to found 13 of the 46 jumping puzzles available.
“What is going to stop trolls from entering a messing with things?”
- probably it won’t stop them. But when they enter an instance for roleplayers and make trouble, it’s much easier to report them for violating rule 1 of the rules of conduct listed https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-rules-of-conduct/ here
“Have you tried creating a party with people?”
- I did. We also used a squad. But it doesn’t solve the problems of being around in a world where people want to make mapbased events, like BrotherBelial told in a post before.
“Roleplayers want to RP in places where there are pubs, garrisons, fields, farms, caves etc. just as much as Non-RPers want to fight with them.”
- the idea would be to have the same maps like everyone else, just without enemies, events, quest NPCs and such.
“If they just want to RP, there are better tools than using GW2.”
- better tools than playing in the very same world your character originates from? Sure, we could use Skype or TeamSpeak. But why bothering having a GW2 based roleplay anyway then? Without graphics and all.
Maybe a possible way would be to create a world where people can’t move their characters to but only being a guest to it, when they want to have a world without enemies.
Hello everyone,
as I’m one of the many roleplayers in Guild Wars 2, I thought I might share something I had in mind.
It would be very helpful for the roleplayers and for the other players if the first ones could have an instance for RP. Reasons:
- more than often roleplayers will scale enemies up to high levels, even so they don’t attend to the events around them
- the other players more often scold the roleplayers for wasting user space on the map, for example when Tarir should be freed
- non-roleplayers very often molest the roleplayers either with spamming text or abilities or both at once.
To make it more useful for roleplayers, such an instance should have some specialties:
- no spamcheck for messages. Roleplayers often post a lot of text and if the spamfilter kicks in, sometimes they have to wait some minutes before they continue
- no enemies around. This way roleplayers can’t abuse the instance for leveling or collecting events and at the same time aren’t disturbed from enemies no matter where they play
- abilities should last longer, eventually until disabled. For example when you create a magical shield or a wall of flame and want to use the ingame abilities for it, the 6 seconds the shield or wall is displayed aren’t very helpful if people write a lot of text.
I could think that this would help both, roleplayers and non-roleplayers to have some more fun
Any objections?
