Order of Venvardis.6073

Paying for past episodes doesn’t bother me that much because like some have said, as long as you log in once during the two weeks, you’ll unlock the episode.

BUT! I’m pretty disappointed that they seem to have changed what counts as “the two weeks an episode is live.” Used to be that you could log in at any point up until the next release went live, even if it was just an hour before the next one. But earlier this morning, I logged in for the first time in a long while to make sure I unlocked Echoes of the Past before the update, and there was no clickable icon above my mini map; the LS menu said I’d have to pay 200 gems to unlock it. I guess because the date itself, the 18th, is the date of the new release, I was too late to unlock Echoes of the Past… even though Tangled Paths still isn’t up. That’s frustrating.

Did they say this change was going to happen on the website anywhere? If I missed it, that’s just my fault then, since I haven’t been following that stuff for the months I haven’t played, but otherwise…

I just wanna agree with everyone that the aftereffects are amazingly upsetting. During the Escape/Battle releases, it was insane how wrecked everything was, but it didn’t feel too sad—because there was a battle going on and we had to focus! But now, seeing all the damage in the cloud-covered ruins and especially the characters who are struggling afterwards is overwhelmingly upsetting. I also wanna commend that music. The scene would have a great impact regardless, but that music is beautiful and sad and blaaaaah. First time in a while the game music has given me chills.

They are level 80, but these bosses are designed for the massive amount of players who are participating in this final LS release. The champions in Frostgorge weren’t designed for a zerg chain; they’re designed like regular champs, which can be killed with a little teamwork from a few people, a great amount of skill/practice for a single player (though that depends on the champion, really), or with absolutely no thought/time/effort from a giant zerg. So whereas those champs aren’t designed for zerg encounters, the LA ones are, so that it takes a little more oomph to beat them. Since there are achievements attached to them, I think it’d be pretty lame for them to be killed as quickly as regular champions. Plus, many people might not make it to the enemy before it’s killed, and even worse, people might just farm the champs instead of doing the regular Scarlet event!

Hi! It’s really awesome that you guys are making this a trend. I have two basic questions, both of which have been asked already, but I wanted to bring them up again simply so you might notice them more.

1- Will tengu ever become a playable race, or will the Dominion of Winds at least be opened up to explore? This is a bit of a gameplay question, but there would surely be a lot of lore to learn if we could just see what’s behind those darn walls.

2- Will Malyck’s story ever be expanded upon? The “Where Life Goes” story arc has stayed, after experiencing five different character storylines, my favorite arc in the entire game. It’s extremely intriguing and I hope you guys show us more of him/the potential second Pale Tree/Magus Falls in general.

Thank you!

If it’s not the song above, perhaps it’s the one I figured you meant: the song that’s almost always the first one to play whenever I travel to any Ascalon map. I think it’s one of the most upbeat ones there!

Or it could also be the one that this forum user was wondering about.

Hmm, yes I can understand this. I guess they want to advertise the current Living Story release all the time, so that’s always there to remind you it’s going on (even if you’ve finished everything for it, ‘cause for maybe a smaller group of people, it’s not solely about the achievements and things to do). An idea could be to implement a setting that would hide/show the Living Story indicator. That way people who don’t care can turn it off immediately, people who are done with their achievements and don’t care anymore can turn it off then, and people who don’t mind/want a reminder that it’s still going on can leave it up!

In addition, I know this has been mentioned on the forums elsewhere but I’ma shove it here as well: a TIMER feature on the LS achievements panel (exactly like the x hours remaining for daily/monthly panels) would be super useful to show players exactly how long we have until we can’t do those achievements anymore.

So after Scarlet is discarded...

Now to your question: will we see a return of SAB? That’s not for me to say, but if it were to come back, what would people like to see from it? Harder/easier content? New world? More/no Moto story?

Hi Bobby, with a bunch of people begging for mind-numbingly difficult content in SAB, I’d like to throw in my two cents: difficult content would be good… if it’s kept in tribulation mode.

I really loved the first release of SAB, but world 2 took such a leap in difficulty, not just in that the enemies were more difficult, but the levels were insanely long in comparison to world 1, and there were so many other ways to die (insta-kill traps, things launching projectiles that would knock you down and potentially off a cliff face) that it became less fun and more of a chore to get through the levels. I loved the aesthetic and the game play of SAB, so it was sad to see my enjoyment of the release drop quickly when it came to world 2. I think tribulation mode was an awesome idea, since people had the choice of easier or harder content, but regular mode world 2 felt like what I’d imagine tribulation mode would be (world 2 was so frustrating for me that I steered away from tribulation mode completely, so I can’t say how much more difficult it was in there).

I’ll admit that world 1 is pretty dang easy if you get used to doing the levels repeatedly, so I wouldn’t mind an increase in difficulty from there. But making the levels double or triple the size AND making everything so much harder felt too big a change for me in world 2. -waits anxiously for people to tell me off for thinking things are too hard-

Oh and as for Moto story, I would be interested in learning a bit more about him but it’s not a necessity, and of course I would love to see a world 3 and would figure each release of SAB would include a new world!

Here are some previous comments that I agree with:

As for content, I’m kinda ok with making it slightly more hard with each release, but the harder the level/zone is, the shorter the map (completion time) should be, especially since you guys said its not technically feasible to add saving points/ways to load back in at a certain section.

In terms of difficulty, I think that World 2 was a bit excessive compared to World 1. I completed it (and enjoyed it), but I feel that the massive jump in difficulty also killed a lot of desire by the wider community to repeat the content. Tribulation Mode exists for those who want a challenge; I urge you guys to keep World 2 (and subsequent Worlds) nearer the length and difficulty of World 1, so more players are willing to form groups and head in.

However the learning curve and overall difficulty of world 2 was too steep. The larger levels was nice but without a checkpoint to return to at a later date makes it so you can only play it if you have plenty of free time. Another thing, insta kills during normal play is not fun, have the traps and falling off the world remove hearts instead of killing you, that would be much more casual friendly.

I would essentially like to see all the troll mechanics left in tribulation mode.

I am fine for people wanting harder content, just do not subject the rest of us to it.

I hope it’s today!

Actually, I was watching a Youtube video a little bit ago and the advertisement was for the next release in a way. It was basically a retrospective of everything that’s happened so far in the Living Story (in about a minute and a half) narrated by some unknown man. Then at the end, this half-broken asura gate shows up with another just to the side? I was thinking Coriolis Plaza in LA but it looked bleaker and less confined. Then Scarlet laughed and said in the background “playtime is over!” as a message came up saying “THE END BEGINS JANUARY 21ST.” It’s not quite a preview of the next release, but it’s something!

Edit: Alright, now there’s a thread about the ad where you can see what I’m talkin’ ’bout.

Hey guys; thank you Caittus for informing us that you can’t salvage the inscriptions from crafted weapons. I bought three exotics with no luck for a rabid inscription before coming here, and I’m glad I did instead of risking any more.

I took some time and searched through the exotics on the trading post and after about 400, I found “Trosa’s Short Bow,” a named bow that has the rabid stats. I bought it, salvaged with a Black Lion kit, and voilà! I got the Rabid Orichalcum Imbued Inscription I needed. I’d recommend to anyone in need of a non-craftable orichalcum inscription to search through exotics on the trading post to find one with the proper stats you need. Salvaging them can provide dark matter that you’ll need, too.

Oh, and if you need a Rabid inscription, try searching for Trosa’s Short Bow and salvaging from that. There were 84 available when I bought mine, so that’s 84 inscriptions waiting to be salvaged!

Unless it depends on other factors, using the makeover kit included in the 5,000 achievement point chest seems to NOT affect glow at all. I would assume this would be the same for all future kits sold in the gem store, but I can’t say if it would be fixed on kits bought/received in the past.

Just want to add another huge “THANK YOU!” It’s so amazing to finally have storage for dungeon tokens, badges of honor, and even guild commendations! Thank you, thank you, 1000x thank you.

It does seem weird that they overlooked (or just chose not to include) pristine fractal relics, but I hope they’ll include them in a future update. And at least it’s only one type of token you’ll need to keep in inventory/bank. Plus, if I’m not mistaken, you can only get one once per day, and with the introduction of FotM being about 8 months ago, would anyone actually have more than a single stack of them?

Lastly, while I think it makes sense for them to remove the bank because the account-bound wallet makes the feature (mostly) meaningless, I do understand the plight of those who want to store money for saving or to avoid accidental spending/splurges. It makes sense why they would think to remove it, but I guess it is a useful feature regardless… Maybe in the future they will add that again, and since we now have the “wallet” maybe they can do something cute like have a “piggy bank.” Instead of needing to go to the bank maybe it would just be another little menu-thing in inventory: “send gold to piggy bank?” Ooh, or it could be that you could deposit money from anywhere but can only withdraw it at the bank.

The Charr on the right, is ROX… probably drawn by a different artist
http://i.imgur.com/TxnF8wo.jpg

I don’t understand how it’s not incredibly obvious to people that this is Rox. Has it been that long since Flame and Frost?

The unusual shaped horns, the gold rings at the base of the horns, the red braids, the skull on her left shoulder. I understand she looks like a centaur there, but she is also clearly Rox.

I was wary to believe you, but it looks like you were right! Rox just looks very… manly, and as many have mentioned, centaur-esque. I really thought this update would involve some sort of treaty/cooperation between the humans and centaurs. Still, it’s great to see these characters returning instead of tossed into the history books after a single arc including them.

Where in that text is it confirmed its Rox? Still think it looks like a centaur. Maybe this storyline will have some progression on the Human/Centaur war front.

Well, it’s not confirmed, but the bow on her back looks just like Rox’s devourer-themed shortbow. Plus, that is most definitely Braham on the other side. My guess is that Queen Jennah invited these recent heroes to her jubilee to commemorate their victories… Maybe they’ll even be allies/enemies (o_o) in the Queen’s Gauntlet! I hope we see other returning characters, mainly Marjory Delaqua!

The arena they built on the Great Collapse looks neat. I am kinda sad to see it gone though. If felt like the npcs around there were foreshadowing a cool/creepy story regarding the event.

I get that; I used to really hope that the Great Collapse would have a major role in a future Primordus-themed update, in which destroyers start coming up into Divinity’s Reach (obviously a big issue). But it still seems pretty neat and will bring a lot of people to the city; plus, that glass bird structure surrounding it looks freakin’ cool.

account-wide currency wallet! finally!

I’m curious how the wallet thing is gonna work. is it going to be just another bank tab accessible from anywhere, or is it something like the collectibles tab? Either way, it’ll still probably have a limit of 250 for each slot…

This is what I’m most excited about, and I think it’ll work more like the collectibles tab. It’d be, uh, OP to have it be a whole new inventory-like tab, and that’d draw people away from spending gems to buy new bank tabs or bag slots. No, I’m pretty sure it’ll be more of a list of currencies, and maybe they won’t actually be withdrawable, so that the currency is ready whenever you need it? For example, instead of needing to open the wallet and alt-click a new stack of dungeon tokens, you would just have to talk to the dungeon vendors and automatically your amount of tokens is presented and ready to use (much like actual gold/laurels/karma work now). Actually, if it was in this format, then technically there wouldn’t be stacks of things at all, and then you could hold more than 250 dungeon tokens/badges of honor! The more I think about this, the more excited I am. I just hope it will be more of a tiny wallet icon in the inventory panel (perhaps along the bottom bar to replace the current listing of currencies) that you can open whenever, rather than an actual inventory item. However they implement it, I can’t wait!

Account-Based Magic Find

in Living World

Posted by: Order of Venvardis.6073

Order of Venvardis.6073

A draw back is that now my permanent MF that I have set up is now going to have to be fed in order to keep up. So it will cost me more now than currently to maintain my MF, That’s a BAD change!

And on top of that have to keep paying into the game by being forced to use consumables.

I think you are misunderstanding their use of the word “consumables” (unless I am the one grossly misunderstanding). The way I’ve imagined it is not like, say, omnomberry bars, “eat this and you will gain x% magic find for x minutes.” I thought of it as one-time use, permanent magic find consumables that are rare and cannot be crafted. For example, think of the world ability points in WvW: you put 1 point into guard defense, the next little bar takes 3 points instead of 1 (or whatever). I’ve imagined it like that: eat one of these things, your MF will increase by 5%; in order to increase another 5%, you’ll have to eat 3 things.

They haven’t detailed the system they’ll use just yet, so we don’t know exactly how they’ll do it. If I have it close, then they probably shouldn’t have used the word “consumables” since it would be confused with the general, temporary stat boost consumables. If they really are going to be using the regular consumables… Well, that would be pretty sucky, considering the account bonus MF (which is still cool) only gives you maybe 1% for every thousand achievement points.

As long as the system properly rewards people with account-wide MF concurrent or better than what they currently have, I don’t personally mind. If it ends up being less than though, I definitely won’t be a happy camper.

I understand this… But if you think about, right now in the game if you wanted excellent magic find for every character, you would need to put in a lot of work to give them all high MF. If they take the MF for your single highest character and give it to every other character? That’s pretty generous, if you ask me. (I’m not trying to put down the amount of gold you spent & work you put in to get your character to a high MF. I’m just trying to point out that it’s unlikely for them to translate lots of work on one character into benefits for every character, especially if there are people out there who even put all that work into every character [they would certainly deserve high account MF more so than people who have only done the work for one character].)

I plan on using the total makeover kit from my 5,000 achievement point chest on my main, a female sylvari. I’m not going to do a big makeover, but just slightly adjust some small facial features that I’ve had issues with; since I have been/will be playing mostly on this character for quite a while, she might as well look perfect to me, right?

The wiki page for the total makeover kit notes that there is a bug: “Use of the kit will reset Sylvari’s glow to minimum/off” (see here). Does anybody know if this bug has been fixed yet? I really love seeing my sylvari’s face light up at night, and it would be really disappointing to use the makeover kit to change a few small details only to be presented with another irksome aesthetic issue that I won’t be able to fix.

Truth is, I want the reactor fractal because it will reveal new information/scenes that NONE of us know about, rather than a fractal that will cater to the players of the original game and leave the newer folks left with less of an impact. Watching human gods battle would be cool, but bound to be less exciting than everyone is making it out to be, and not nearly as relevant to the current-day issue (in Tyria) of the explosion that could be linked to other important issues in the world. There’s no way it will be “just a little asuran lab accident.”

These polls are really awesome and a good way to have evidence of player opinions aside from the people who post complaints/suggestions/praise on the forum all the time. I hope more people do them, though, ’cause having about 200 people per poll is good, but definitely not wholly accurate of the entire playerbase.

In future you might want to add “null” response choices. For instance, I didn’t play the Aetherblade dungeon because I don’t generally like the dungeon experience. To answer that truthfully would be a No, but a more accurate response would be “Didn’t try it”. Could get a different metric on what people are or are not doing from the patch content.

You could also potentially break the Yes / No up into a 1-5 ranking. That might help with people who find a boolean answer problematic. There are other problems with a 1-5 ranking of course, but it might help.

I agree with everything this user said! I had to several Dragon Bash poll questions incorrectly because I didn’t do all of the content. An “N/A” choice would be very helpful to avoid skewed results. I also imagined the 1-5 ranking system, because like a few people said, sometimes it’s not as easy as “yes” or “no.”

Hope you figure out a way to include more options like this to make these polls more accurate.

I agree with Fiontar. Seeing as how you can’t exactly farm them, there’s no reason for them to disappear.

What especially bothers me is that unlike the dragon holograms, which you could still see the base of even if they weren’t active, there’s no sign of these baskets at all if they’re not available, so unless you have knowledge of their locations, there’s no way to know where they’ll spawn. Admittedly, the animation of them floating down to the surface is cute… And thinking about it, I think the Wintersday boxes were similar. Regardless, it’s pretty inconvenient for people who are trying to find them for the first time. Thankfully, you only need to open thirty of them (you need sixty, but each basket gives you two bags), so it hopefully won’t take -too- long to complete the achievement. If you’re trying to get quartz/kite fortunes, I guess you’re less lucky…

Yes, continuing off of what Bloody Knight Jack just said: I think if they ever did this, it might come along with an expansion (or a -big- living story release) involving a fight with the next elder dragon in line (whichever one that might be).

It would be awesome if they had the fight against the next dragon be in the personal story quest format, with new quests and areas to go to, but while having the old Zhaitan personal story still be an option for players who haven’t completed it. I sort of imagine it like the achievement tabs: in the personal story tab, there would be two tabs, “Zhaitan” and “Whicheverdragontheychoosenext,” or something more dramatic like “The Struggle against Zhaitan,” etc. For players that haven’t completed the original story, maybe there could be a button to press on this menu: “Switch to this story.” This way, they are able to choose which story to focus on for the time being and can switch to the other whenever they please! Perhaps characters would have to finish the original quests for their character development before splitting into the two dragons’ tales. This fork in the road could happen when they finish the third arc of their racial story (as in the quest where they choose their order and save their respective race from whatever threat), or it could happen after finishing their order’s quests, but before Claw Island (since that is obviously Zhaitan-centered). Either way, I think the first 30-ish levels of story are necessary to begin with as they focus on the character’s past and development before delving into the worldly issues.

As for Orr being un-undeadified, maybe the cleansed Orr could be only accessible to people who’ve completed the story with Zhaitan? I think that would make the most sense. But if that’d be unfair to newer players/people who’ve yet to complete the story, they could just open it to everyone… I’d see two outcomes with that: these players would be inspired and want to save Orr themselves so they can really feel accomplished in the cleansed Orr, or these players would have little to no desire to complete the original story because obviously Orr is already safe enough. So I’m not sure what the best route would be in that regard.

Anyway, these are just some ideas and I don’t think we’d see any sort of expansion like this for a while.

Bastion of the Four Winds?

If it is in the Dominion, I think you might have it there.

I… have my doubts, though. There’s a lot of recognisably human figures there, and not much in the way of tengu as would be expected if this was a tengu-oriented location. Nor other races, for that matter – there aren’t any figures that stick out enough to be norn (unless they all are), are short enough to be asura, or hunched enough to be charr.

Plus, while hovering carpets have been associated with asura, we also saw them in Vabbi. Thus, if I had to make a call, I’d say it’s an Elonian settlement, possibly a refugee settlement somewhere hidden in the Crystal Desert, or possibly Scavenger’s Causeway.

Your judgments are pretty reasonable. I agree that there probably would be a decent number of tengu in the artwork if it were Dominion of Winds… Buuuut it could be mostly other races from Lion’s Arch flocking (pun intended) to the Dominion after their doors have finally opened! Unfortunately, that still doesn’t explain why it appears to be mostly humans. Lion’s Arch IS in Kryta, the human kingdom…? But that’s not a very good excuse, haha. We’ll find out tomorrow!

"BotFW" wallpaper found

It’s most likely Blank of the Blank Blank; could be “on the” instead of “of the” but that’s less likely. I’m both hopeful and expectant for it to be Four Winds, because I’ve been hoping for an update involving the Tengu for a long while! The most recent “article” on the site that’s “written” by Ellen Kiel mentions that the Aetherblades flew into Lion’s Arch airspace from the southwest. The only logical place to go to now is the Tengu territory over there… or at least somewhere in the Sea of Sorrows, but the “Four Winds” just makes sense! If it’s not Battle of the Four Winds, perhaps it could be Bastion of the Four Winds? Dominion of Winds is definitely the bastion of the four Tengu factions, and perhaps that tower in the wallpaper could be the structure that is itself the Dominion of Winds.

I guess we’ll have to wait a few more days to see!

I think this sounds great! ^ Ronah, I have to disagree about the first restriction. Five characters all leveled up to 20 is sort of the equivalent of leveling a character to 80 (and twenty “levels” after that), though not as much difficulty as the later levels. You can get a LOT of time & enjoyment out of five maps, cities, and characters, and I think a lot of people who would do the trial (even if they loved the game) would be rather satisfied after all five characters and zones and might be over their brief fun and thus not buy the game. If ANet were to do this, realistically, they’d probably limit it to one or two characters (two would be ideal because they could try out different professions) to simply pique the player’s interest and get them to buy the full thing. If they wanted to level five characters to 20 after that and stop playing, at least they paid the $50 for the game anyway. :P

I have a noobish question… How would this attract bots/what would the bots DO in the free trial? I don’t know enough about the idea to know how it would effect the game/trial for other people.

Why aren't dungeon tokens collectibles?

Hmm, Esplen, thanks for bringing up the 250 collectible limit thing; I didn’t really consider that when thinking about this. They could edit the token collectibles to stack up to 999, but I guess that would require work beyond simply changing a number and might be tedious? Another alternative is to have multiple collectible slots for each token, say four for each, this way it would cap out at 1,000, if just making four separate 250 stacks would be simpler than a single slot with a higher limit. To be honest, even if the collectibles tab only collected 250 of each, it’d alleviate the situation a bit. If you do a dungeon run once and don’t intend to do the dungeon again anytime soon or buy anything with the tokens just yet, you could save the 60-ish you earned in collectibles for a later date instead of clogging up inventory space or tossing them. You also brought up Badges of Honor which I forgot about—it’d be great if those were collectibles, too.

I’m pretty sure the new log-in theme is just for Dragon Bash and will return to the original start up music when either this release ends (the 25th) or after Sky Pirates of Tyria.

What I wish is that they would put the two tracks that follow the original music back into character creation! They used to provide a really nice soundtrack while you choose your new character’s looks, making it feel more exciting, but now it’s just silence with the occasional boom of noise in the background.

Why aren't dungeon tokens collectibles?

I’m very new to dungeons, and I only just discovered that the tokens you receive for them are not considered collectibles. It seems rather inconvenient, because if you want to save tokens, you have to keep them in your bank or inventory, which may already have dozens of items (not to mention all the items you loot from dungeons themselves). At first I wasn’t so bothered, but then after only a few runs of a dungeon I remembered that stacks can only go up to 250 and I’d have to have multiple stacks of tokens in my bank… I don’t want to buy anything with them right now (not sure what I want and would rather not waste them on something based on a quick decision), but I don’t want to destroy them and waste them completely. I save a lot of stuff in my bank, so if I keep trying out dungeons and getting tokens, I’ll start running out of spaces to put them.

I’m wondering why the tokens aren’t collectibles? For casual dungeon runners/farmers of a single dungeon, this may not be as much of an issue, but some dungeon enthusiasts must have difficulty keeping all of their tokens in check. If they were collectibles, they’d each have their own designated spot for easy access and deposition. If you want to use them on a different character, you can deposit them and pick them up easier than having to stop at the bank on both characters. And if you want to keep them in the same character’s possession, you could simply not deposit them or use an invisible bag to hold them. It just seems like it would be way more convenient to have them stored in this manner. If anyone could list more reasons supporting this, that’d be great, but it’d also be nice to see if people could explain why they think the tokens AREN’T collectibles—I’m curious.

Tharium, you could hover over the map level designations and see that the map directly above Lion’s Arch is Gendarran… And if you don’t want to do that, you could ask in map chat, “Where’s Gendarran Fields?” and people would say “Go north” (most people would not be jerks about it, hopefully). Plus, the letters have a specific “Show me!” button that you can click to see exactly where on the world map the suspects were. >_>

You don’t really supply many suggestions to support your cause, and the one suggestion you have for sharing experience doesn’t sit well with me. I feel like a lot of people would take advantage of that and use people to do the work for them while they lounge and watch their character go to 80. I can imagine a party of five venturing through a zone and having a berserker smash all the enemies and get the quests done quickly for everyone else. Plus, if newer players had their friends fight the bad guys for them, they wouldn’t get used to doing it themselves. Some quests have confusing/tedious tasks, but almost all of them involve some portion of combat, which is ubiquitous in the world and new players will need to fight things eventually anyway. Plus, if two people could easily wipe out a map’s quests with shared experience, it would seem less fair to someone who doesn’t have a friend to play with or wants to explore alone (as I often do myself) who would take twice as long.

I don’t think you’re out of whack, I just don’t agree with that particular suggestion. Things I think could make a party more enticing are increased experience for EVENTS (not quests or enemy kills like you suggested), magic find or karma. That would make people want to group up more often and make more friends! Otherwise, I think the very useful separate chat and location tracker are plenty good enough.

I personally really like this idea. I’m tired of hearing both people miserable about not getting a ticket (not that it’s annoying, but I feel bad about it and wish it wasn’t that way) AND people who say “Well uh I got a ticket so obviously you’re wrong, you’re just whining” when all they’ve had is good luck. The idea about the achievements that keep going would definitely need work and consideration since it’s a bit complicated, but it’s a good idea nevertheless.

If only the tickets were tradeable… It sickens me that someone somewhere could have gotten several tickets and not cared about the weapons at all, or even that someone was new and didn’t know what they were and destroyed them.

City Jumping Puzzles

I really like this idea—the cities do feel very empty. I don’t think this would add a TON of people, but considering that jumping puzzles are included in dailies and monthlies, it would be convenient and make the cities more visited. I think people mostly do the Lion’s Arch puzzles because it’s so easy to warp over to Urmaug’s Secret and climb up the cliff for a minute to get the achievement. They’re right there, so people do them. If there were puzzles in every city, people would surely go for those for monthlies; they would be in the most convenient locations (just an asura gate away from LA!) rather than a trek across a map (or a fee for a nearby waypoint). Even for dailies, people who prefer the puzzle in, say, Rata Sum over the ones in LA could go through the asura gate to there and do it relatively quickly.

I liked a lot of the ideas here, especially going up the garden in Divinity’s Reach. I like the Great Collapse idea, but personally I’m hoping they save that for a content update involving Primordus/Destroyers/the depths. I couldn’t think of many puzzle ideas myself, but when trying to come up with one for the Grove, I thought of an idea for a feature of one. In Caledon Forest there are some neutral mosshearts that will attack when attacked, but there are certain places where there are “green-named” mosshearts that you can’t even attack yourself. I imagined these in the Grove somewhere, and the jumping puzzle involving you exploring trees and eventually having to cross one of the terraces to reach the next branch. There would be mosshearts walking lazily around in a circle, and players would have to jump on their backs and ride them for a short distance before jumping off onto the next platform! That just sounded like a neat feature of a puzzle that I don’t think has been done similarly before (I’ve done about 75% of the puzzles so far). If people were just running through the Grove and saw someone jump onto the back of a mossheart, I think they’d be pretty excited to try it themselves. If I come up with any more ideas I will surely report back here.

"Skyhammer" - New PvP map?

in Living World

Order of Venvardis.6073

Earlier today when I warped to the Heart of the Mists, I checked my map to see where my party member was (they were in the tutorial section). What I discovered was an unfamiliar name next to Raid on the Capricorn. It says “Skyhammer,” and when I hover over it, there’s an odd tooltip that shows I’ve completed the heart quests and skill challenges in this unreleased zone.

I searched on here and the wiki, and couldn’t find any mention of this Skyhammer. Could it be a new PvP map? Could it even be related to the Aetherblade folks from Dragon Bash, who may be using airships (as seen by the large airship inside the new rock formation in Gendarran Fields; see here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/dragonbash/The-Mysterious-Rock-Formation)?

Since the next release is being announced today and could introduce this potential new PvP map, this post may have been pointless, but I thought I’d show this discovery regardless.

I came on to see if anyone else said anything about this, and I’m kinda surprised Mightylink is the only other one. I’m not sure if this is a bug or just something they took out, but I really wish that the music would be back! The title screen has a few tracks that are really beautiful and inspiring, but the only way to hear them now is to just sit idle on the start screen. The music provided a nice background ambiance when creating a character. Now when I make one and I’m stuck deciding between facial features or whatever, I just have to sit in silence instead of having a wonderful soundtrack to occupy the time. I really hope they put the lovely music back in! Pleaaaase!

As of Saturday, May 18th, this achievement is still either bugged or not in existence any longer. I read all of the books and no achievement, but since it’s hidden I don’t know if it’s just not working or gone completely.

Some confirmation from ANet would be nice or else people will continue to attempt the achievement in vain!

I’ve tried this event on three servers tonight: Blackgate, Maguuma, and Henge of Denravi. It was stuck on all three. The tests completed was always at 3/5 and the cows needed was always at 2, but the cows alive was 2, 3, and 4 on different servers (can’t remember which ones). Now I’ve guested on two servers so I have to wait 24 hours until I can try again on other servers… >_<

It seems absolutely ridiculous that this thread began 8 months ago and has 15 pages and the problem still seems to not have been fixed at all. I look past a lot of tiny errors in GW2 because the developers have put such an intense amount of work into everything that a few slip-ups don’t hinder the amazingness of everything else, but this bug is so frustrating. Please listen to us!

I got here by searching on Google, since I was also having the same issue (26/27 feats even though I followed the path). I tried visiting the first shop in Zone 1 like some of you said and it worked! Thanks guys. I know you don’t get any achievement points for finishing it, but I couldn’t let the month end with only one feat missing haha.
