All this talk about Potatoes just makes me think about Latvia.

I imagine this whole Megaserver experiment is going allot better on American servers then it is on European Servers. Although i did main a International server it was an International-English. I now end up finding myself with Germans and Spanish people who barely speak English (if any at all). Organising larget scaled events has become nearly impossible.
We failed several Guild Bounties because members would constantly be put in a different megaserver. And sometimes this junk would even happen if you where in the same PARTY!
The Megaserver did the exact opposite of what it was trying to do, on European servers annyway.
Also perhaps a less important note, but i miss seeing people that i used to recognise, the server turned from a small little pub, with people and faces you know to a big blaring disco where you know no one, cant understand some people and just feel awkward and out of place.
some people mentioned that a good compremise could be to revert cities back to non-megaserver states. I’l agree with that comprimise because i doubt Anet is going to change their mind on Megaservers at all and instead they’ll put their fingers in their ears pretending they cant hear us untill we stop complaining, or leave.

Just popping by quickly to say that the Megaserver really broke up our Guild Bounties and any larger (4×5)+ guild parties. Some members would always end up in another instance and either miss out on a bounty or the guild event we where doing.
A Bump, from the dead. – Allot has happend, the guild died, it reformed, died again and now we’re trying to reform it again.
16 members “big” but ey, gotta (re) start somewhere right?
(edited by Oremir.8027)
Blammo, a brand new bump.
Whoops, a belated bump. Also we cleaned up a little bit.
A spooOOoooooky Halloween bump! So spooky, i bet you’re scared.
And another bump
Yet another bump.
A Daily Bump. – No updates.
A bump – we’ve recently cleared out a bunch of inactive members.
Could the splashes you create on walking be a teensy bit bigger? I mean, they’re grey splashes wich are already not as eye catching as the flowers from Kudzu or the paint blobs from Sunrise/Twilight, and they’re tiny compared to those other two.
I know this is pretty trivial but it’s something small that’s been bothering me for a while.
Also the Frostfang’s “Icy hand” effect on Norns with the fattest body composition actually causes the ice to be “inside” their hands, causing the effect to barely be noticable.
Hey there, hope you can find help as soon as possible!
I dont intend to offend but you’re putting this in the wrong sub-forum. This Forum is soley for Guilds looking to recruit, this post actually bellongs in the Looking For Guild Sub-Forum
It might also be a good idea to make people aware of what server you reside in.
Again, hope you find help asap!

I’l take an invite.
Bumping it back up.
Anet saw how much money they could make of RNG and decided to throw most of their previous phillosephies out of the window?
Remember the whole ; a player wont have to grind to get the max gear available, oh by the way, we’re introducing a new quallity that’ll be the new max gear, you’ll only have to spend an absolute age trying to get it.
I don’t get where all this “frustration” is coming from. I ran it for maybe 45 mins, and didn’t feel frustrated. I actually laughed pretty hard when I died some of the time. Maybe I didn’t play it long enough but I actually enjoyed it.
The frustration on my part comes mainly from the fact that they actually chaned this so that it’s now near impossible to run it with friends, Last years Halloween the clocktower acted like many other explorable zone, with overflows that you could leave or join at a whim and play with friends.
All the power to you if you have fun on your own, but i preffer to do these little events with friends and guildies, and allot of these small-time events dont have propper party
EDIT: i suppose to me it just seems a bit counterintuitive that this happens in an MMO.
(edited by Oremir.8027)
There really needs to be a system so friends can play together in these activities. I’m willing to play in a scrimmage mode with no rewards at all just so my guild can play together in clock tower, keg brawl, sanctum sprint, etc. I can provide the rewards, we just want to play against each other.
/snip
Right on the money, it’s so frustrating not being able to play great mini-games with one another without finding some back-handed way of doing so. Like in Scantum Sprint me and my friends used to try and sync-join into a race, wich of course didnt work half of the time and was just a troublesome “fix” for something that, from a non-proffesional standpoint, doesnt seem to hard to implement.
Alright, from the looks of things you guys’ve made it PvP to turn every other player into enemies and turn them into whisps so the screen wouldnt be a clusterkitten of people.
Here’s one important thing you’re missing though ; The clusterkitten was annoying at times yeah, and so is the Jumping Puzzle however doing this thing with friends was SO much fun and aliviated allot of the stress gained from the general difficulty and the artificial difficulty due to fat Norns.
It’s just downright dissapointing that i cant play this event with my friends and guildies (annymore)
- To be honoust this is a gripe i have with ALLOT of events, they’re pretty fun but the novelty wears of quickly on allot of them because they have NO party functionallity whatsoever (Scantum Sprint, Southsun Survival etc.)
Clocktower is dead to me.
It’s something i tried aswell but i guesse it’s worth a try, the problem i run itno with trying this is that i find it hard to juggle representation and i often get kicked due to lack of representing.
It’s deffinatley worth another try, thanks.
Bumping with update :
The guild has grown quite a bit, 40 members and growing! – If you have questions that wernt awnsered in this thread feel free to private message us!
I’ve tried LA (Gandara) but throughout a weeks time i’ve only really had about 2 responces. – as for the people i dungeon with, mostly guildies.
I’m looking for a place to advertise and recruit people soley for bounties in my guild. – i mean, do i need to put this in the Guild Recruitement section? I’m not exactley sure as i’m not recruiting permanent members.
Maybe a stupid question, but i’l be gratefull if you could awnser it.
EDIT: if there is a trusted third-party site to post this stuff i’l be glad to hear about it aswell.
My first charracter is a human, but that’s because i’m plain unimaginative and boring and i like my first char being human. At the moment however i’ve got 2 humans, 2 norn, 2 charr and 2 Asura. 0 Plants because they’re not a race. The only thing that bugs me really is that Charr have a truckload of clipping issues and a majority of the headpieces just look dreadfull on them , but MAN those GS swings look handsome.
Kappow kinda sounds male. And Dredge. The use of hard vowels serve to make it even more masculine, but that’s nothing faulty I guess. 7/10.
My own Asura is an engineer and named Zakkyz, and he’s kinda like the Asura equivalent to a class clown with temper issues. And an unhealthy love for explosives.
Nice, very racial and for some reason the name fits. 8/10.
Kikt, my Asuran Ellementalist, a little bit of a pyromaniac but he can set his desires free on the dragon minions.
Boombox isnt as much of a boombox as it is a whisperbox, had to turn up the Player Instrument Volume all the way to even hear it.
And apparently the sound fades off extremely quickly so other players cant really hear it unless they’re standing right on top of you. (and of course have their Player Instrument Vollume up)
22/160 , do the maths people.

Fundamentals
Guild Name: The Doppelgangers [TD]
Server: Gandara
Time Zone: International, primarily European GMT+1
Playstyle: primairily PvE, PvX
Roleplay: None
VOIP: TS3
Recruitment: OPEN
A bit about The Doppelgangers
The Dopplegangers is a guild formed by a bunch of friends and people that know eachother from the previous Guild Wars experiences. Allot of us are a tightly knit bunch and it’s made for some good fundementals.
As a guild we’d classify ourselves as a PvE Casual guild. We accept members with responsibillities such as College, Work, Familly and other this means we dont make a big deal out of activity but it also means that activity can be a bit unpredictable at times.
We try to do Dungeons as much as we can and as of recently (13/10/13) we’ve started doing Guild Bounties each Saturday and are working our way to additional Guild Missions. We also dabble in Fractal Runs, our highest level Fractal reaches at around level 28. From time to time we also do random junk just for the heck of it.
What are we looking for?
- We do not care if you’re new to to game, we accept both veteran and new players!
- We accept people that have a job or other responsibillities.
- Prefferabley talkative members that also have a basic grasp of the English Language.
- 16+ although it really deppends how a person acts.
- Team-oriented members.
What can you expect?
- New members can expect help, although we will never shower them with items.
- Varied activity due to members real life responsibillities.
- Helpfull friendly members, we dont shun fun.
- Guild Missions once we have a good amount of members.
Current Status of the Guild.
Right now the guild is reforming, we have a low member count and we’re in the process of rebuilding.
The guild has decent amount of Experience and Karma boosters ready for those that need it.
The Guild has enough lvl 80’s to form Dungeon Parties.

Oh god those Time Stamps , those flippin time Stamps. I dont really understand why they wernt added in the first place seeing the previous iteration of the game had it. And the lack of ’em makes managing big guilds so bothersome.
Officer chat and whatnot would be nice aswell but right now i think Timestamps are just NEEDED for propper guild managing.
For a game called Guild Wars the features for the Guilds really are lacking, before annyone comments yes i know the name stems from the Historical GW Events in-game but i couldnt pass to make the comment.
(edited by Oremir.8027)
I don’t see why this wasn’t added in the 1st place.
Same here, even more so because the previous iteration of the game had it.
If there’s a reason other then “whoops we forgot it”, i’d love to hear it from Anet.
Everytime we have to clear the roster its a big gamble, i dont and cant possibley remember each member by their acount or charracter name and sometimes i end up kicking someone who’s been somewhat active but i simply didnt recognised and having to explain to them through mail it was all just an accident, it’s quite bothersome.
I’ve seen this topic a dozen times before and i think it still needs to be reinforced.
Time Stamps for Guild members, simple as that. I want to be able to see how long someone’s been offline for. Managing a 100+ Guild without it is such a hastle.
You had it in your previous game, what promted you to get rid of it? I quite a few other people want it back.
I’ve been thinking about this, and conceptually it seems like a great idea, but seeing i have no knowledge on programming annything i have no idea how hard it’d be to execute/implement these kind’ve things.
Might be something personal, but i also wouldnt mind “harsh” weather applying some sort of debuff on you aswell, you’re not gonna fight/move so easilly in hard rain and snow – the problem there is it might make the game feel a bit unfair, just imagine fighting an difficult enemy and then a bad weather effect suddenly pops up.
But yeah , diffrent weather effects would be pretty radical.
There are alot of players from other games playing GW2. They want mounts so bad that they all well leave the game. If there is not atleast cosmetic mounts.
So? Let them leave then! GW1 never had mounts and there’s absolutely no reason for GW2 to have them either just because other games have them as well.
That’s kindve a nihilistic view there buddy, either oblidge or gtfo?
Yeah i can sympathise with that, having simple Town Clothier NPC who sells the original Town Clothes would seem like an easy Fix to me(?)
Oviousley this is a hard needed feature, what the heck was Anet thinking not putting this in the game from the start?
I think waypoints may actually be hurting the game.
Many people think mounts bypass content. But from what I’ve seen waypoints bypass more content. If you are using a mount, your exploring the whole world and not skip over zones.
I’l have to agree with your Waypoint arguement in a certain sense, that they dont invoke a sense of travel or invite you to do so, however the fact of the matter is that they are already in the game. Adding mounts at this stage wouldnt really be usefull at all, and before someone suggesst removing WP in favor of mounts? i think the Community backlash would be outragous if they did that.
Last reservation.
Reserving another post for future refferences (5001 letter limit, so i’m just making sure i have a post in case i hit the limit)
- Do YOU have a suggestion you’d like me to add? Post it in the thread and i’l put it in the 2nd post.
- Feel free to discuss but try to stay clear from argueing and flaming.
Sumarry:
- Add a functionality to track when someone’s last been online
- Add the ability to add notes to Guild members
- Add a seperate chat channel for Officers.
- Add a functionality that tracks influence earned for the guild.
- Increase the rewards for holding and deffending points in WvW.
- Change Siege Weapons from Soulbound to Acountbound.
- Increase overal effectiveness of Healing Power.
- Add the abillity to craft in bulk to the Mystic Forge
1. Latest Activity/Online Notes.
Right now managing a (big) guild can be a real drag. it’s easy to lose track of who’s been offline for long periods of time and just fill space. It’s going to look bad if you have around 100 members and only around 16 member attendance. – Cleaning these people right now is a haphazerdous task, i dont know all of my guildmembers by heart and i dont want to risk accidentally kicking people that have been attending on a semi-regular base.
2. Member Notes
Being able to add notes to members would be nice, the same way you can do to your friends in your friendslist. giving people a tag/note can allows for you to destinguish people easier. Or for GL/Officers add a note who’ll be offline for a long time due to reasons.
3. Officer Chat.
Simple as that, a seperate chat channel for officers. In the Rank Management tick a box whoever can see the chat. It’ll deffinatley allow you to discuss some matters in private with people you trust.
4. Influence Earned
Some guilds care about influence, it’s an unfortunate truth and so some guilds might want the option to see how much Influence a member has earned for their guild.
5. Last time represented
As much as you dont want inactive/offline members you dont really want permanently non-representing members either. It’d be nice to figure out how long someone has not been representing, they’re essentially dead wieght to the guild if they dont represent at all.
6. WvW : Rewards for Holding Points
One of my biggest gripes at the moment in WvW. Claiming a point for your guild right now doesnt do annything except let people know that your guild claimed it. This kinda hits with 2 problems ; that Claiming at the moment is pretty useless except for ego-stroking and that WvW is highly unrewarding when deffending.
Make capturable points slowly generate influence for the guild on an automated base. 1st of it means that claiming these things will actually have some sort of benefit for the guild. 2nd off, it might incite a few people to go on deffence and make sure that they keep their point. – dont get me wrong, i dont think this is a “fix”, but i think it might help making WvW a bit more enjoyable.
7. Siege Weapons Acount Bound
Right now Siege weapons are Souldbound. I dont really understand why and i’d really like to see it change so our banks wont get clogged with siege equipement.
8. Increase Healing Power
Increase the effectiveness of Healing Power. Right now the amount of additional healing you gain per amount of healing points is fairly weak. In fact if you want to survive sometimes you’re better of with a high Crit Chance and some Vampiric Sigils/Health on Crit food. “each point of Healing Power adds 0.125 healing for Regeneration, 0.06 healing for Rejuvenation.” [sub]quoted from Wiki[/sub]
9. Bulk crafting Mystic Forge
Probabley not that hgih of a priority, but it would be nice to craft things in bulk like you can in pretty much all the other Crafting stations. I suppose the best example for crafting things in bulk in the Mystic Forge would be crafting Cores into Lodestones. Having to click those items all the time can get tedious.
Yeah, this is a real gripe i have at the moment. I nearly enough feel “forced” to use any blueprints i get that i didnt get on my Main Charracter (wich i stack BP on)
I dont really agree, i’d rather see the Outmanned Buff give people a stat and health boost to stand a bigger chanse against more people. Right now it gives +Karma , +MagicFind and +Experience wich seems a bit of a unhelpfull buff tbh.
This can be very much abused.
What if a group of friends infiltrate one of the top-guilds and then decide to hijack it by demoting the leader and putting their own there?
A voting system should never be implemented for decisions like this.
What I can however see as a good idea is the demotion of a leader that has not been online for a certain amount of time (such as 1 week or something like that, as a default)
I can partially agree with this. A voting system that would allow inactive leaders to be demoted would be an “alright” idea, 1 week however is WAY to short (think of hollidays).
It’s a bit dodgy, right now i’m a GL myself i however co-lead with several other people. If i would ever be demoted i’d want that decission do come from the co-leaders. Then again, who doesnt say they just want to usurp eachothers power and switch the Guild to their sole-leadership? … the option to vote someone off leadership brings ALLOT of possible problems really and although i agree there needs to be a way to get rid of inactive/abusive Guild Leaders i dont think Voting them off will be the best awnser.
Guild mail – Really miss not being able to send a guild mail. Makes it so much easier to notify the guild of events, notices, etc. Really need this.
Officer Chat – Or just being able to make our own channels in general
Really agree with the Guild WvW stuff, need something to encourage guilds ^^
Oh man Officer Chat would be an AWESOME idea, didnt even think about that. – but how do you propose Guild Mail works? Cause that seems like it might be a bit dodgy seeing most of the transactions go through the mail on GW, and do non-representing people also get the mail? because if they do then it might become a a clusterkitten in your mailbox you know, with the abillity to join mutliple guilds.
Hi Anet, i love GW2 it’s nice and engaging however right now i dont feel Guilds are up to where they should be, here you have a few suggestions compiled from previous threads i’ve seen and that i can agree with.
Latest Activity/Online Notes.
It would be really nice to see how long guildmembers have been offline for. Right now managing a (big) guild can be a real drag. In bigger guilds is easy to lose track of who has been offline for extended periods of time and they’ll just fill space. It’s going to look bad if you have around 100 members and only around 16 member attendance during the day. – Cleaning these people right now is a haphazerdous task, i dont know all of my guildmembers by heart and i dont want to risk accidentally kicking people that have been attending on a semi-regular base.
Member Notes
Being able to add notes to members would be nice (the same way you can do to your friends in your friendslist) – giving people an tag/note can allows for several possibilities like ; help you sort out some of the regulars appart from the common silent brunt. – it also allows you to add notes on anounced inactivity (like adding a note that a member is gone on Holliday) – Maybe it’s an idea to have 2 diffrent notes? (Guild Notes viewable by everyone and Personal Notes viewable only by you?)
Influence Earned
Some guilds care about influence, it’s an unfortunate truth and so some guilds might want the option to see how much Influence a member has earned for their guild. – i suppose you can weed out those that apparently dont contribute to the guild(??) but i encourage someone else to write a better reason.
Last time represented
As much as you dont want inactive/offline members you dont really want permanently non-representing members either. I think we all have those few Guildmembers that switch their representing guild every so often. but it’d be nice to figure out how long someone has not been representing, they’re essentially dead wieght to the guild if they dont represent at all.
WvW : Influence Reward for Holding
One of my biggest gripes at the moment in WvW. Claiming a castle/keep/etc. for your guild right now doesnt do annything except let people know that your guild claimed it. This kinda hits with 2 problems ; that Claiming at the moment is pretty useless except for ego-stroking and that WvW is highly unrewarding when deffending.
My suggestion to this is ; make capturable points slowly generate influence for the guild on an automated base. 1st of it means that claiming these things will actually have some sort of benefit for the guild. 2nd off, it might incite a few people to go on deffence and make sure that they keep their keep. – dont get me wrong, i dont think this is a “fix” to make Deffense in WvW rewarding but i think it might help.
I’d really like to hear everyones opinion about this! Do you agree/disagree? and if so why?
- Do you have a suggestion yourself? Post it in this thread and i’l be sure to add it to the frontpage!
+1 I’m a guild leader too and it’s a pain to have limited info.
Aye, i’m a Guild Leader aswell, right now i’m juggling a 50 man guild and i’m already having trouble keeping track of inactive members. I dread to think what kind’ve logistic nightmare this must be in guilds that have 100+ members.
Yeah, just being able to see how long someone has been offline for within the guild would be nice. It might be a small feature but it’s a feature that we had in GW1 and it’s one that makes managing (especially big) guilds easier. Not quite sure why it didnt make the transit to GW2 but it would be nice if it was implemented again.

Anyone care to support, elaborate or add on to this?
