IMO : Anet tried to destroy the solo (casual) player but it backfired on them and everyone walked away. You can’t please everyone all the time but you can’t design your game for only one playstyle and expect everyone to like it.
Vertical maps seem like they have a lot of depth, but create unneeded confusion and frustration. To push this game further Anet needs to put the Fun back into the game.

That is not the problem, again this was discussed to the death at HoT launch. Any experienced player can solo HoT area just fine and you can constantly find people around that this is not a big problem at all. The game has many problems plague it but this is not one.

Well, I appreciate your chutzpah in pronouncing it not a problem, but as long as it is a problem for people it will continue to be a problem. (I know, it’s almost too simple.)

It is a problem for me, a largely solo casual player. It’s similar to the issues we went through with Orr very early in the game. Mob densitity, respawn rate, hard CC, all combined to make play un-fun. They addressed this and my play experience improved. Can I get through the packs of mobs in HoT? Yes. Is it fun? No. I also agree with the poster on the verticality of the maps being a contributing factor. The maps are confusing and not navigable on entry, you have to acquire mastery points to function in the area you are expected to function. When you add the mobs nipping at your heels while you are simply trying to get from point A to point B, it becomes annoying. I have to admit I’m not a platform gamer; that is why I pick MMO’s and ARPG’s.

As to whether all this is a general problem, only Anet is in a position to know really. They have all the data necessary to understand players response to HoT. Hopefully, they will respond in a manner appropriate to that data.

Hey guys, I’m just curious if anyone find Soulbound/Account bound system to be obnoxious?

I don’t really know what it is about it, perhaps coming from 7 years of Guild Wars where ‘soulbound’ was an option, not compulsory.

I think this game should have been named something else, because it has nothing on Guild Wars 1. The only resemblance to gw1 is the graphics, and the most basic of lore.

basically, Shadow Step in, activate haste Spam LDB til ur out of initiative, then roll, then steal continue your spamming, and when ur out of initiative again, Dagger Storm, Spam ur initiative out, and Step back out.

Awesomesauce to the max. The healing from Signet of Malice should keep you alive long enough to put a good 21 stacks of bleeding that last a sexy amount of time. But this is just me. Thieves aren’t a huge ‘support role’ like guardians. That or I’ve yet to figure that out aside from providing stealth which everyone REFUSES to take advantage of -_-

a cheap headpiece. (white or blue)

Steps:
1) Make a new thief with the hood
2) Transmute the head piece with the hood.
3) move the hood to your thief
4) transmute the hood with whatever you want on your original thief.
5) Done!

I would vote no on mounts. If they introduced mounts, it should be a reward for the following: reaching level 80 AND having explored 100% of the map. The mount would also not have any speed increase and would be purely for looks only. Also, if riding in a zone, you would not be able to “run away” from mobs, and would be dismounted upon aggro. Perhaps a bit much, but I don’t think GW2 needs mounts. The first game didn’t, and it’s one of my favorite things about these games.

The first game also had full time speed boosts accessible by every profession -_- and was also on a small scale….. so running was really fast >_>

also running was by far, my favorite thing from gw1, and if it made a comeback, I’d be extremely happy!

Ever try to use a bow and arrow? my money is on you not being able to fire very accurately or very far, if at all. (assuming you had no experience).

You strong enough to lift and use a two handed axe or lance? They’re heavy!

Whips? not really hard, but wont be doing much dmg with little experience

Shuriken/Throwing stars? Can you throw a knife? O_o I can’t throw one very accurately or very far to be honest….

Orbs? pffft, i cant see the future

Let us ‘bookmark’ our favorite recipes, and give them a seperate (making it the main tab) tab to themselves. Just saying, its easier to look for.

why? i find it quite annoying to have to dig thru a bunch of recipes when i just want to make and handful of recipes 90% of the time? for that other 10% of the time, ill just look in the secondary tab.

Dyes Not account bound and armors don’t stay dyed
First of all, make them account bound, because I REALLY am not looking forward to buying another abyss dye…. or celestial dye. Next, dye the actual armor like in guild wars 1, so that when we switch armor, it doesnt become the current dyeset, but stays whatever color we dyed it before

TP Preview Can’t view armors from the TP
Simple, give us a preview option from the TP

Filter Vendors So when I look at a vendor, i see every weapon, every armor type, etc
When I click a vendor, i should see the weapons my profession can use. For Armor vendors, it should show armors of my grade. And have a secondary tab to find weapons/armors that aren’t usable for my profession.

Armor Repair This gets ridiculous. I don’t like having to repair my armor, and i honestly dont think anyone else does either.
Just get rid of it and come up with some new gold sinks.

Waypoints Another Popular topic. These get ridiculous.
Do away with the costs and come up with new sinks, create mounts, bring back running, or just reduce the price.

Level Scaling While we all thought this was a great idea, its actually become quite the hassle. Really diminishes and screws over the 200+ hours i spent, leveling (NOT MAXING) my character
I honestly don’t even know what to say about this aside from get rid of it

Buying dances (giggity) Not really feeling the Carton to be honest.
Sell dance emotes for in game currency (gold/karma/etc) TECHNOVIKING/Gangnam Style SAYS HAI

no, i cant support this, what they need to do is MAKE better looking armors, cuz im just not satisfied by a lot of them -_- At least in guild wars 1, there were a handful for almost every profession that i liked…

First of all, you’re not dumb, so stop being stupid (lol contradictions).
2nd, as a fellow thief noob, i just stand mykitten in the back and shoot shortbow arrows at em. Use Cluster bomb on the enemy, and shoot the choking gas at your ally (becomes a combo field that makes ur buddies shoot poison. For this build, i’d do defense, vit and condition traits. I also use sig of malice, and for an elite, honestly, nothing beats daggerstorm when used with signet of malice. Also, try roll for initiative, im fairly sure it removes some conditions while allowing you to regain some initiative quickly.

I can’t seem to find the video on youtube, but a while back before the beta and all that stuff, there was a video of a charr warrior dual wielding axes. Those axes were blue w/ ‘ethereal essence’ floating around them. Does anyone know if those exist in the game, and their names?

tase, at the end of the day, this is your fault and your responsibility. Just move on and try not to get scammed again. There will always be scammers, and undoing things for people will just clog up the real issues like making the game better.

dont give us a little variety, give us a lot of variety, Seems like half the armor doesnt look halfway ascetically pleasing. And making ‘armor classes’ just reduces the armor variety. I think I’ve found one or two armors that i like and maybe a combination or two that i like. they dont even have to be revealing.
