I’d rather they just changed them all back to a flat 20%, especially the torch one.
Elementalist – I’m a little sad I’ll probably have to give up arcane brilliance heal because the lower CD was put in grandmaster. It was combined with elemental surge, which really isn’t very good. I certainly wouldn’t give up evasive arcana for it. I’m also surprised the 4 skill on ice bow was buffed instead of nerfed.
Engineer – This class had the biggest wow factor for me. Hopefully I’ll be able to find a new build cause you killed mine. Enhance performance seems to be gone and I used it in my might stacking build, along with med kit. Making med kit bundles ground targeted, kills the skill for me. I tried that trait once and hated it. When not ground targetable they just drop in front of you while you are running. So if I need the healing I pick them up. When they are ground targetable they drop behind you instead unless you manually target in front of yourself, seems like a little thing but I found it very annoying. Engineer gets other good healing skills though and I saw a lot of positive changes in the traits. So I’m sure I can find a new build to my liking.
Mesmer – This class gets my lowest grade. Maybe because I was really looking forward to it the most, which made the disappointment so much worse. It is my only full condition class , so I thought with the condition changes it would get better. I basically run a shatter/confusion build. You put everything shatter /confusion /condition / illusion CD into the same line, including moving the torch into it from domination. I’m actually going to lose traits I had before because of this and there really isn’t anything in the other 4 lines that helps my build at all. This class is probably going join my necro and ranger as useless classes that just camp harvest nodes.
Guardian – I love the new elite changes! That with the new elite weapon specialization coming makes me wish I hadn’t deleted my 80 guardian. I’m going to have to level another one. It can take the place of my Mesmer One thing I don’t understand is why all the emphasis on burning damage for a class that gets no condition damage weapons? Even torch is more of the direct damage weapon. You may want to considering changing something like the staff 1 skill to a burning cone attack or the one handed sword to a bleed weapon.
Thief – Nothing really positive or negative for them. This is the one class of mine that seems is going to keep the exact same build he has.
Ranger – Remove pets from the game please or at least make it so we can toggle pet off and gain a damage buff for PVE. Throw away druid staff idea and give axe skills to dagger. then make axe a decent cleaving one handed weapon. Trait lines are still very bland, once you go down the one with your chosen weapon, you may as well choose the rest by what stats you want. This class has probably the most fun ranged and offhand weapons , too bad pets and poor main handed weapons had to ruin it.
Necro – A lot of nerfs for a class that already seems really bad. Signet mastery moved to a grandmaster, making the best healing skill a little worse if your going DD, because with necros low damage , close to death is pretty much a must have. One thing that has always bothered me about necro is the best trait line has always seemed to be blood which gives you vitality, which is the one stat you need the least. I’d much rather have toughness , which is the worst trait line. I really hope the two handed sword helps this class, because it needs it!
Warrior – Sad about the nerf to berserker’s power. Other than that my build wasn’t changed much.
Well that’s my take on the changes and how they effect me anyway. Even though there may seem to be a lot of negative in there, I see a lot of positive in them too. I am looking forward to testing out new builds for engineer and guardian. Mesmer was the only really big let down for me, ranger has been beyond hope forever, so I wasn’t expecting much there anyway.
It’s still possible other users are doing more damage than you and squeezed you out of the picture.
Then why I am still getting gold metal for completing it? Also with the 4 boss mobs there were only like 8 of us doing it, it’s not like I was getting lost in some zerg. Even if the other 7 out damaged me (which I don’t think all of them did ), I don’t see why I wouldn’t get any loot at all. I participated in an event for about an hour and got absolutely nothing for it.
As I said with my ranger too, I went into that event where I know I was no where near top damage, there was only 1 boss left and he was 1/2 dead already and my ranger got full credit for the event.

I submitted a report a couple weeks ago because my engineer , who is heavy condition build , killed the fire elemental boss 3 times on 3 different days and although getting a gold metal , got no spawned chest or personal chest. Now today I zoned into pavilion with my elementalist, who is also heavy condition build. There were 4 bosses left alive. I helped kill all 4 from the start. Got gold each time. At the end I got nothing again. I then logged on my ranger ( who is full zerk ) got into an instance where there was 1 boss left who was 1/2 dead. I helped kill it and got full loot.
Now with the fire elemental I thought maybe it was a damage problem because the thing dies so fast. With the bosses in pavilion though they die slow and I was doing a lot of damage to all 4 and getting gold when beating them but getting no credit at the end for loot.

I wouldn’t mind seeing a trait like this. – Enemy attackers who strike you while channeling a mantra receive a random condition. ( bleed , burn , confusion , torment )
It would help a little on the lost dps while channeling.
Power (major) toughness and healing power (minor)
Condition damage (major) power and toughness (minor)
Making it gt would mean the world.You coud directly use it as a blast on fields without needing an enemy to pass on them.You could use it for direct zoning and for area control.You could save a few of the landing sec by aiming it in advance to where the enemy goes..for exampl if he uses a leap on you use it on yourself and see THEN if he can avoid(leaps are on autopilot in the game and you cant stop them :P)
Pls anet give us a gift to make the upcoming nerf less ..painful..
Scepter has a skill that does all those things it’s called Phoenix. If area control is your thing i would suggest trying staff for either ele or necro, both are very good at this. They both have ground targeting blast finishers also in eruption and putrid mark.
One reason I use scepter over staff is because i did not like all the ground targeting. I just didn’t enjoy that playstyle. Since we have a weapon that does what your asking for better, I see no reason to start changing scepter into it.
I would rather it wasn’t made into a ground targeting spell. Also I dont see how making it one would help much. The problem is the animation takes too long, making it easy to dodge. Speed up the animation a little so it hits faster.
If FA were smart, they would let us win this week so they wont have to put up with us next week.

He means the winner of your match will probably be going to tier 2. Since SBI players are all jumping ship. Taking last for the better part of 3 months in tier 1 was understandably too much for them. Most of the wvw guilds and leadership have left. We also got slaughtered when finally moving down to tier 2 in the last match. Though again they keep us there , to be slaughtered for another match. So I wouldn’t worry about anyone moving up. If Anet keeps doing things the same, they will leave us in tier 2 for a few months til the other 1/2 of our population leaves . . .
Only an engineer would break a two second stun with a four second knockdown.

Only an engineer would make there pistol bullets do 3x less damage just to get the explosion radius of a firecracker . . .
Well if you just take pets and have them kill the test golems the cats out dps the rest. This is without using F2 skills though. With the build i was using, it took them around 15secs to kill the golem. Canines were around 25 , lizards around 30, and birds around 35. The flying birds are not good dps pets imo, they have a very slow attack speed.
Once you add in the F2 skills lizard would probably pass canine in dps since most of them have dps skills (though they can be hard to hit with). Canines have support and control abilities.
I prefer canines and spiders for their control abilities for WvW but for all out dps I would say definitely cats.
Superior Sigil of Doom doesn’t work. I’ve been trying it on my mesmer and I never get the poison effect. I do get the icon that sez the next attack will poison but when I use a skill that icon goes away and my target doesn’t get poisoned. Tried this on scepter – staff-trident-spear, none worked
Does sigil of battle actually work properly? Least for me nothing happens with the superior sigil when it’s on mh pistol. I dont get any might stacks at all. Sigil of str works but needs definetly least 40% crit and preferably major rune as superior is bit kittenty.
I have battle sigil on mine and it works fine. Remember that you only get these stacks when switching “in combat”. So if you just put it on the pistol then switched in Lion’s Arch, it does nothing.
+1 I’d really like to see this get moved or disabled.
I honestly can’t believe they didn’t get rid of Reanimator. Now it degens slower, yay so it gets in the way even longer! I agree with Avigrus they are just not listening at all.
This little pet doesn’t seem to do anything but get in the way. Anytime i wanna do Arah i have to respec my traits and cannot put any in that line because of this minor trait. The pet isn’t controlable and spawns constantly during Lupi phase 1. Which then allows him to eat the grubs when they spawn off it. Which then gets your entire group mad at you. Making grubs not spawn off of it would help but still , I’d rather just see it go away. It tends to pull unwanted mobs on you and also interferes with Jade maw fight by getting targeted ect . . .
It just seems this thing has very little upside and a huge downside to it. There may be people out there that would like to keep it (although i have never met one) In that case i dont see why you couldn’t swap it with one of the adept trait in that line. Something that doesn’t cause as much trouble.

I had basically decided to skip this weekend since i was having a such a bad experience with this event and really disliked the new dungeon. Hoping i would be going back on Monday to resume. Though with all this free time i have been reading the boards and it seems this dungeon in not going away after the weekend. Also it seems this dungeon is the only way to get this new accended gear. Is this true? Rather than having many options to gear my characters, like picking between many dungeons/paths, grinding outdoor pve for drops, badges from WvW, or buying from market. I am going to be stuck grinding this one dungeon (which i do not like) over and over for all my characters?
I have thousands of dungeons tokens stored in my bank i was saving for alts. do i just destroy these now because the gear is obsolete?
I was having so much fun doing dungeons even when i didn’t need the tokens. Now i am worried no one is going to do these dungeons i liked. 8(
I spent about 4 hours on this before i just deleted everything to do with it and started leveling an alt.
The lag for the first event was so bad i could barely participate. The quest npc were bugged so i couldn’t do that either and when trying to do the dungeon everyone just rage quits at the swamp. Overall it was a miserable experience.
Lack of speed was the one that kept me from playing this class. In WvW you’re going to want one of your weapons to be 2h sword or staff for the range. This leaves you with one choice for an off hand and focus has the swiftness. I have never seen a mesmer with a torch or pistol in WvW.
Of the 3 offhands, focus has the worst phantasm. It does the most damage if you can find anyone dumb enough to stand next to it , but 99% of the time it just stands in place swinging at air. I really like both pistol and torch but just feel I cannot use them because you either have to give up 1200 range or your only speed buff. With no speed buff in WvW expect to be killed whenever you need to fall back.
I wouldn’t mind only having one option for swiftness if i was a ultility skill but don’t like it being on a weapon. So please swap it with a cruddy utility skill. Honestly you could probably make it an elite skill and everyone would still take it. . . =p
