Dhummfire is a dumb trait to begin with. Its like one of those things where it shouldn’t have been made for various reasons (insert perplexity runes here).
Main reason is they really don’t know how to balance it without making it too op but at the same time by nerfing it making it completely useless and dismissible.
Also LOVE the idea on life blast dmg based on condi that will give condi necros a cleave that we need to finish the job.

This is actually a VERY good idea, considering necros are not the escape type profession and basically gets mowed down by zergs you might as well make necros a weapon of mass destruction. Instead of actually seeing them in stealth it would be nice to see like a blurred spot to signify that the person is there instead of actually seeing the person that way it wouldn’t be that easy. Or better yet the person will fade in and out of stealth. As a mesmer main I do like the idea that necros should have somewhat of a stealth detect ability.

What is the deal with people complaining about mesmers…lets be frank this update is by far the only update out of how many kitten years did a mesmer buff actually mean something…
Past years if it wasn’t “fixing” a bug or “removing” something that wasn’t meant to be there and those little “indirect” nerfs i mean seriously too many to count.
We have had SO many nerfs to our kit and yet some of our skills from day 1 are still clunky as crap for example our iLeap is still super clunky now even worse because you need to be in the Line of Sight w/e that means.
Finally a mesmer gets to be in the spot light and suddenly everyone complains about it lol.
Like the person above me says, you want to learn to beat a profession or a build ask a specific question or better yet play the profession yourself it will save you the time and embarrassment.

Lol obviously most of the people now have no idea how bad it was to get ranks in spvp back then. The Phoenix and dragon ranks now were mostly bumped from bear or shark ranks. Spvp back then was a nightmare because the queue was just as bad also you didn’t get as much points if you lost unlike now. So getting lucky is not the case so please just stop before you embaress yourself.

No one is preventing anything from happening fact is everyone wants to obtain something in a manner that you wouldn’t need to do much to obtain those skins in which others worked hard for. I would be kitten fine if they reverted back the old spvp rankings and made it harder for people to actually get phoenix rank or dragon rank because right now its WAYYYYY to easy to get it. Like the tribal armor set either set it up like fractal weapons where its complete RNG or revert back to the old sPvP system where shark rank actually ment something instead of spoon feeding the rest of the population. With the new sPvP reward tracks Ive manage to get 2 precursors from the mystic toilet from exotics I get from the reward tracks in sPvP it’s simply is too easy. I mean its already bad enough that legendaries are going to be flooded when HoT comes out.

I mean nothing in GW2 shows obtaining something requires great feats, back then legendaries ment something but look at them now. They are probably more common then fractal weapons.

In that case can I request all the HoM skins be sold or obtainable ingame without actually having to get ANY achievements from GW1 plz pretty plz cuz im begging and I am too lazy to play GW1. Im pretty sure many more want the titles and skins from HoM then a pvp armor set plz sell it in the market becuz I want to get everything the easy way and becuz I know u guyz will make tons of monies from selling these skin plz pretty plz on the cherry on top! Becuz everything should be obtainable to everyone and I didn’t know tht if u played GW1 that GW2 will hav such awesome sauce prizes pretty plz add those skins in GW2 for everyone to gets!

Its like when I missed the first Halloween event for gw2 i lost my chances in getting greatsword skins, scythe, or even the shield which costs like 2-5k gold each, am i crying cuz they aren’t releasing them…no some things in game should stay rare and unobtainable because god knows everything else is common and easily obtainable, and yes that includes legendary items.

And it would kitten so many people off those who worked their kitten off to get the 2-5k gold to finally be able to buy those skins, and then suddenly popping out in a Halloween event thinking those skins were rare and unobtainable.

Also before the wardrobe system was introduced it was implied for many months that they were going to change it to the wardrobe system that was the reason why I farmed my butt off in spvp in hoping that was true. So there really isn’t any excuse for the veteran players who had the chance to get the armor set but decided “i hate spvp” “the armor set name was different” “i didn’t know” simply isn’t an excuse. The armor set name was different but you could’ve viewed it on the spvp wardrobe back then.

Honestly if it does come back i hope its kitten hella hard to obtain considering how annoying it was to obtain it in spvp.

1. Back then spvp ranking took a lot longer then it did now and the reward tracks were different. (i mean you see shark finishers , phoenix finishers , and dragon finishers everywhere. )
2. The chest from the ranks have a CHANCE of giving you an armor piece.
3. There is the option of crafting it in the spvp forge but again it was a chance to obtain the one you wanted.

This armor set was out fairly a long time about a year and a half or so before the wardrobe system was introduced. I personally HATED spvp but i farmed for 2 weeks straight doing nothing but spvp to get the whole set regardless of it only being spvp exclusive at that time.
Anet needs to stop kittening the general population that really don’t want to work hard for items and just being handed to them. How so? Well here is a few example.

1. Legendary items were much harder to get back then, back in the days of ORR farming.
2. With fractal of the mist i generally get 6-9 exotics alone in one run and im not even counting the rares that fill up my bag. ( The only thing worth getting in fractals are weapon skins which is still the only thing that makes me want to do fractals.)
3. With the new meta boss farms again another EASY way to get exotics and rares.
4. Dungeons being WAY too easy, I can literally do all the dungeons in just a few hours with my friends with zerker gears.
5. With the new magic find system compared to actually needing to gear magic find is a balance between should i gear more towards more dps and less magic find or more magic find and less dps.

And people wonder why GW2 is getting dull, its because EVERYTHING is basically handed to the players.

I understand that there are new players that joined and have never gotten the chance to get these armor but I mean come on almost every mmo has those things where it becomes exclusive to veterans…WoW is famous for it yet do people cry about that?

And watch with HoT being released it will be a GW2 craze for about 2-3 months then it will go back to people complaining about stuff or people wanting stuff or just simply “I’ve done it all is there anything else?”

uh because when i need them to pay me back i expect it to be gold not items i mean what ur saying is entirely true i buy them precursors and mats and etc and in return they pay me back according to how much the legendary currently cost in gold not in items….
you know this is the kinda bs that prevents players from coming back…and this is also the kinda bs that makes people want to quit…

I hate to necro things but i came back from months of break just to find out this happened…you know you guys always manage to do something that prevents me from fully coming back to gw2 and enjoying the game…
I lend gold to friends to make legendaries and in return they pay me back slowly in their own time…now i login game my friend is able to pay me but sadly i am only able to get 500 gold per week? i dont understand how this is going to prevent gold sellers because honestly they will find ways around it. In all your hurting the general population more then a few gold sellers out there.

I honestly found GW2 a lot more entertaining before the updates, it seems with each update on “profession balance” makes GW2 less attractive. I can see the expansion be a 2-3 month hype before the nerf bats and “checks and balances” are in play… What is the point of players suggesting or giving feedbacks when Anet is going to ignore them anyways…

Also this person must not know how to read if he or she thinks that the necro part of the forum is the only section that players have problems with in terms of patchnotes on their profession. FYI its not the nerfs or buffs its how anet ruined the game in general.

Ok lets be honest with the nerfs and “buffs” on mesmers you can tell that the devs dont even understand how mesmers work…maybe the better question is do the devs even PLAY a MESMER? As i recall there was some vids or showcases where the devs cannot remember mesmer traits or skills. And as for mesmers in pvp, you rarely see mesmers in top tier teams infact most of the teams dont even use mesmers.

Honestly any true mesmer player will know the things that needs fixing is,
1. ileap
2. DE needs to be a minor trait or part of our mechanic.
3. give the kitten back our confusion and remove perplex runes because we all know right now many other classes can utilize confusion alot stronger then mesmers and funny thing was confusion was suppose to be a unique condi to mesmers.

A friend of mine suggested something about ileap saying instead of summoning a clone it puts a sigil or a target marker on the enemy and u can use it to blink instantly and rooting it when youre within range.

mesmers with high bursts = shatter mesmer = requires multiple skills and probably the hardest playstyle out there = weak condi cleanse

lets be realistic mesmers are only decently playable because of phantasm and if they nerfed phantasms well then mesmers r useless

mesmers right now are jack of all trades masters of none

i mean they nerfed confusion a unique condi to our class (gave it to everyone else because anet loves equality!)…nerfed PU (a kittentier version of SA)….ileap was never fixed and nerfed (you cant trade places if your clone dies)…nerfed debilitating dissipation…nerfed our blurred frenzy (it isnt invulnerable anymore its blurrrrrrr)…nerfed decoy and desperate decoy (trait) which btw i always though it was special that mesmers could use decoy even when revealed thinking it was special to our profession because u know mesmer deception illusion trickster…and on top of that we have to waste 4 trait points on dueling because 98% of mesmer builds now must use the one thing we all need to generate enough clones to do anything is deceptive evasion…so uhm HMMMMMMMMMMM wonder why mesmer is still the least played profession…….
oh and our traits are scattered all over the place not making any lick of sense…

Well lets do a small comparison on bursts…
rapid fire = 1 skill pew pew, 1500+ range
shatter mesmer = requires multiple skills and positioning, close range
backstab thief = requires multiple skills and positioning, close range
warrior kill shot = 1 skill boom, 1500 range
ds lich necro = 1 skill boom, 1200 range (reduced dmg)
fresh air ele = requires multiple skills
medi glass guard = requires multiple skills, close range

now lets narrow it down…
RF = 2 dodges and still take dmg
warrior kill shot = dodge once and no dmg
ds lich necro = 1 spam cant really dodge out of that

break it down to even more specific
rangers = 1500+ range attacks with sic em with escapes and decent mobility
warriors = 1500 range kill shot with healing signet and amazing escapes and mobility
necros = who are we kidding what mobility…you’re a floormat for zergs or small groups…

and so the winners are!!!!!!

I play a ranger and i must say i do agree on how broken rangers are. Fact that you need to waste both your dodges to not get nuked fully is bad enough and I honestly doubt both your dodges will charge up as fast as the CD on rapid fire. And the fact that the range is 1500…which btw i was testing around i honestly thing its further then 1500 range.
Next is the 25 stacks of invul within 3 sec, this is beyond absurd that is an instant 25% dmg increase.
Lastly Sic Em…well i think its pretty self explanatory…
People use to complain how disgusting shatter mesmers were well it requires alot more then pressing one button to deal what rangers can do now, then there is the necro press 1 in DS dmg, well considering necros cant escape for kitten they deserve the dmg they dish out.
Point is we all know anet struggles to balance out classes but honestly tho if anything there is 2 options either nerf the damage or nerf the range having both is just too greedy…
and its quite funny how many people base build changes solely on sPVP alone which is quite comical because there is WvW as well…and with WvW being such an open space battleground it leaves very little room for counterplays when the range is soo ridiculous…
But hey i play a pew pew ranger if they never nerf it well hey more killings for me i dont mind its hilarious sniping people off when im behind tower~

lets be honest confusion before perplex runes were a unique condi for mesmers mainly due to our glamours engis had it but it wasnt to the extent of how mesmers can apply it. i mean i understand the nerf on confusion but like i said they over did the nerf and gave it to everyone else and in result they dont know how to buff back confusion or change it in a way that a mesmer can be “unique” with confusion like before. If anet wants to push mesmers to be a condi CC class then please give us back confusion and remove perplex runes…dont have to buff confusion back to 100% but at least 66% or w/e you’re doing to pve back to pvp would be nice…
also for those shatter mesmer complainers the reason why shatter was soo strong back then had was because confusion played a huge part as well before the confusion nerf…and honestly shatter mesmer shouldnt be complained about, the bulk dmg we dish out is our reward considering shattering requires a lot more timing and skills and setup then a “rapid fire pewpew” “backstab stealth” or a glass medi guard blowing kitten up or even DS necros spamming 1 which is basically pressing 1 to 2 skills.

It seems to me Anet has a hard time understanding the concept of mesmer in terms of knowing how to buff or nerf a mesmer. Well a huge hint revolves the fact that almost all our builds requires clones which takes us to part two of the problem. The fact that we require clones for our builds to work means Deceptive Evasion is CORE to every mesmer build out there which means 4 trait points out of 14 trait points are always stuck in Dueling. Because of that it destroys all means of unique builds that a mesmer can create due to the fact that 4 points are ALWAYS on Dueling (FYI the only builds I know that didn’t require this trait necessarily is glamour build but hey nerf the kitten out of confusion and hey while your at it give it to every other class that can make it extremely OP and yes I’m talking about perplex runes). At the same time the 4 extra points can make a mesmer OP as if we aren’t complained about enough (meaning those who don’t have a mesmer and dont know how a mesmer actually works).
While our unique class mechanics revolves around clones and the usage of clones (F1-F4 skill). And no offense the weapons don’t exactly generate enough clones like necros generate life force.
Also iLeap still sucks and needs a fix.

for one prismatic understanding is already nerfed by adding all those boons on it, secondly debilitating dissipation had also received a nerf by removing stacks of bleed and reducing the duration i believe. Lastly a mesmer running no condi cleanse when the meta is well mostly condi everything or hybrid is something that you shouldn’t be complaining about. You cant expect one build to beat everything out there you will face things that you can beat…like in this case condi heavy classes

iDuelist, iZerker, and iMage do wayyyy too high dmg
iDuelist = Able to stack constant pressure of bleed 6-8 stacks always
iZerker = Cripple and able to move like lluululululul warriors
iMage = Do more dmg with each unique condi? As if it doesnt hit like a truck already?

I have a mesmer and im not trying to betray mesmer because it is my main profession, my point is personally i would like a nerf on our phantasms and increase dmg on our other skills like our core mechanic skills F1-F4.
Phantasms are just too kitten and suddenly many builds revolve around phantasms due to their high dmg.

Another thing to address is PU…OP needs a rework.

Pro:
1. Great idea and concept
2. Unique designs
Con:
1. Female clothing are way to revealing (despite the blue coverup)
Why? Well this game is played by a wide range of people of age.
2. The blue ruins the whole thing especially the helm.
Why? Well because you customized your character it would be nice to see the customization that you have made to make your character unique. The face especially is the creepiest part.

Suggestions:
1. An option to remove the blue.
2. Or put the blue to the actual armor design.
Why? If truly the armor is suppose to be the set of the weapon then like the weapon it should be on the armor itself like the weapons. As I recall the weapons itself have a really nice sleek golden almost like water reflections on it and not just blue.

It wouldn’t be wise to allow you to change the color of the blue because like said before there will be too many people running around with different color.

like i said when i run powermancer i would not choose dhuumfire either way because there is other alternatives that will benefit powermancers alot more…being that you do burn dmg considering your a powermancer you dont inflict tht much condi that it would be hard for them to cleanse out of it…

I play necro dhuumfire for me in all honesty is to make up the fact that necros has no disengage skills (stealth blinks etc etc) its a kill or be killed at any situation…i also play a mesmer which btw lacks condi remove i still beat up necros with dhuumfire easy…and yes engi has a similar trait to dhuumfire and a engi could also stack as much condi as a necro can…dont see the point of this trait being changed because if i was going to go DS build id for sure not take dhuumfire…too many other MINOR / MASTER trait tht benefit DS alot more then a GS trait…

tbh blackwater build in my perspective is a stubborn build…a full blackwater can hardly catch up to kill or have any burst for the kill…
necros face tank is completely understandable only because they really have no means of escape whatsoever while a warrior who can face tank and kitten away when losing and kitten back in they have full health is just beyond me what anet is thinking
tho back to mesmers i give props for anet touching these 2 traits and perhaps some well deserve nerfs, but at the same time i do expect them to either change some parts of our kits considering these 2 traits r practically the core of mesmers…

i dunno if i would consider DE a nerf or a bonus, when i go invisible and when i dodge my clones is like a breadcrumb (at times) but critical infusion is a unneeded nerf because it syncs so well with DE…i mean hey if you are trying to make all classes the same with perma vigor nerf then guardians need one as well because i dont see it being mentioned in the upcoming patches…point is with these nerfs i do expect dev to either rework our kit or at least rework Cry of Frustration…point is a lot of the mesmer builds works around these 2 traits…

well as a “grandmaster trait” dumbfire having tht strong presence is well deserved considering your dumping 30 traits on tht, yes admit it is too strong but now its going on death shroud to proc with a 10 sec ICD its more or less a master trait and less of a grandmaster trait…

Oh also i do hope the dev see that necros still lack the ability to get out of combat considering its either kill or be killed…no real way of escape i guess u can use spectral walk? but thts completely situational and the excuse of “necros have 2 hp bars” doesnt cut it because once ur locked down ur locked down regardless of how much “hp” you have…

MY personal opinion on mesmers…
1. Phantasms have way too high of dmg, duelist has a high base dmg + the stack on bleed. There are some phantasms that do need a fixing and that is the mage, and i would say the warden fact that it only stays in one spot…
2. Mantras…you have 2 stacks on a 20 sec CD…only upside to it is curing the conditions bad side is well 2 stacks on a 20 sec cd…the mantra that dmgs does little to nothing and 2 second of stability really?
3. Prismatic understanding is a VERY strong trait and it is actually very op should be toned down a bit…i mean comon you get either protection, regen, and aegis buff in stealth? Not to mention if your traited every 10 sec if you get a regen buff you get protection…I once had 1 min of protection buff…
4. Now that confusion is nerfed I would expect that Cry of Frustration dmg would be buffed…
5. Scepter 1 and staff 1 has a VERY SLOW auto attack… Staff I would completely understand for being slow but Scepter I do not…
6. I know this has nothing to do with mesmers or it kinda does is Perplex runes…really…like really have you tested them out before you released it?
Its like oh yea we are nerfing confusion but in compensation we are giving confusion to classes that makes confusion even more disgusting…
Conclusion of this dec 10 update IC good buff, rest are just crap…

Sad to say tho that shattering isnt like it use to be…nowadays most mesmers go towards prismatic understanding rather then shatter, now more then ever considering the cooldown reduction on skill 2 and 3 for scepter…
its either scepter / torch / staff for defensive or scepter / torch / sword / pistol for offensive.
oh and lets not forget the stupidly disgusting phantasm PU build…
I for one am a big fan of shatter builds but im being realistic that in this current meta shatter builds aren’t as viable as they use to be and i stand by my point no matter how many people are going to be against this comment.
1. shatter burst isnt as high as it use to be unless u go glass cannon…the might stacking is completely situational.
2. condition removal is extremely weak on shatter mesmers.
3. luckily for the traveler’s rune because naturally mesmers r SLOW unless you use focus…

lol all ive seen are complains about people not getting precursors considering its ALOT easier to get precursors now then before, legendaries right now are a joke its easily obtainable those who have spent 1kg on mystic forge what u can do is save the g, its your own fault that you decided to spend and spend just to get a precursor instead of buying it AFTER knowing how low the chances were going to be, FYI 1kg now could make u 2 legendaries lol

Hey Osicat i personally love the hybrid shatter build but seeing the recent patches that no longer viable to use that as a solo roaming build considering it lacks condition removal so seeing the heavy 3.0 i was wondering if it was good to switch portal to mirror images to get more might stacks and bleeding down.
