Isle of Janthir - unable to get into Stormbluff Borderlands from our entrance
Posted by: Paladin.5268
Isle of Janthir players are getting a load screen (indefinitely) when trying to go through our main archway in WvW on Green Borderland, that leads out to the tower. This is game breaking and needs a hotfix! We are forced to crash our game client and then take an alternate route through either supply camp, which is costing us precious time when we are trying to get out to our tower to defend.
This issue was reported over a week ago when this same issue was going on with our last WvW matchup, and Anet has not responded or fixed this issue. This does not happen on any of the other WvW server maps.
@BitTeeHunter:
Although, given the info that was recently posted on Reddit, we might lose some of our defensive capabilities.
Well we already have a very tough time in WvW with any condition removal which has no immunity added to it like it should. Enemy players can simply put all the condition back on your team mates the moment after you removed conditions from you and your team mates.
Poison stacks, bleed stacks, fire stacks, etc, are crazy dps powerful with NO current mitigation to any of them. The game is based heavily on who has ranged + condition dmg = win of engagement. Sure you see some melee run up to their foes who can use a 6 second immunity to all damage such as warriors, but after that immunity is gone, then what?
We use our CD’s on XYZ skill to break stun, clear condition, etc, and then we are stuck for 30-60+ seconds before we can do anything else. Our strong point is some of the defensive abilities we have, and frankly, Anet should be looking at ways to buff Guardians to better handle condition damage, because we simply cannot keep up on any reasonable level with the insane amount of it that goes out.

Voltric, didn’t I already pointed out (to you) that that’s not a good argument? Each profession should be viable in every “role”. Range is such a role.

This is not true, else all the other classes would be complaining about not having the ability to run a “support” build like Guardians can. Not every class is meant to be equal on every part. If you want a “Ranged Role” then roll a class that support that play style.
Guardians are not one of them.
From my experience, you make a good amount of coin already taking objectives, supply camps, etc. If you are going out at low lvl, then expect to get killed faster, as there are a large number of 80’s running around already.
From what I have seen from those in my guild, everyone comes ahead of money earned over costs of repairs or even buying some siege equipment. WvW is team play, if your dying a lot it is because you are putting yourself in a bad situation by overextending yourself or not realizing your taking to much condition and get taken out before you can react.
I think the rewards are fine already, and may need to be toned down a bit to negate large farming groups from only doing supply camps all night long and not helping out anywhere else, while they earn all their coin / karma and the rest of the players on that map suffer because of having fewer players willing to help take a tower / keep.
I am surprised that Anet did not come up with a tiered ranking system and only put a gold amount (100 gold) to earn the only ranked WvW position of Commander.
What I think they should have done is create a tiered system with multiple ranks players can earn through earning badges and completing objectives along with some gold spent. This would allow players to feel like they are accomplishing something during their WvW career with opportunity to gain higher ranks, thus afford some form of reasonable buff they give to their squad (as long as they are in proximity to the leader)
A quick example:
Sergent: 500 WvW badges, + rank 2 Realm Avenger, + 5g
– This rank can only command 1 group, however they give a 5% speed increase to their squad and 5% speed increase in building siege equipment.
Lieutenant: (Must have completed Sergent rank) 700 WvW badges, +rank 4 Realm Avenger, + completion rank 2 Realm Defender, + 10g
- This rank grants the player to command a team of up to 10 players, 7% speed buff, 10% speed in siege building.
You get the idea, again these are just examples and I think Anet could come up with some very creative and solid ranks that players can earn.
Ultimately, I would like to see Anet remove all commander ranks, refund their gold, and allow players to start over fresh with a new ranking system that has some meaning and requires leaders to be active in WvW. Placing a time requirement between ranks would also be suggested (48 hours between ranks to start and go up from there)
We have Realm Avenger ranks, Realm Defender, Repair Master, etc. All of these ranks could be incorporated into higher tiered ranks and allow those dedicated to the cause to claim them.

I am at an em pass on whether to shelf my guardian in favor of long range combat class with tons of condition dmg, as these 2 factors seem to determine all engagements in WvW.
It has become very disheartening to play as a Guardian class as we have one of the lowest health pools in the game, with the understanding that we should have strong boons / condition removal.
Condition removal is a joke, frankly put. I use Save Yourself in conjunction with Contemplation of Purity for my group, only to get dotted up again a fraction of a second later, with no further mitigation or way to clear all these conditions.
We do not have the 6 second full invuln to all dmg like warriors get, who could use that time to dish out some dmg. We are very limited on how to deal with the long range bombardment as we simply do not have any ranged that can compete. Scepters are not ranged in my opinion, because they are slow moving orbs that are very easily avoided.
I have tried hammer builds with synergetic abilities that heal with every tick depending on how many allies are affected by your boons.
I have played with sword and focus, and did find better survivability, with little opportunity to actually do any dmg and earn badge drops.
Whats silly is that I rolled a new ranger alt, and within 2 days time at low lvl, have managed to earn far more WvW badges then my Guardian by simply standing at range and spamming my abilities at 1500 knowing I am pretty safe and out of harms way, just stopping occasionally to loot the bags that drop at my feet.
In all, I am open to suggestions about the Guardian, but very disappointed in the imbalance I see and experience as a melee player.
What Guardians need is some sort of natural defense against condition dmg, or at the very least, change our condition removals to give us a short term (4-6 second) immunity to further condition damage after using one of our utility skills. What is the point of removing conditions when they just get reapplied the moment after they are removed?
We could use a review on our class and need some help to get us on par with everyone else. Perhaps even a minor health boost would be in order.
Belmont.4682I agree with the OP, griefing in the jumping puzzle is ruining the game experience for many people.
People having 50 catapults/ballistae/arrow carts due to completing jumping puzzles and not actually PvPing or doing anything to get badges to actual buy siege weapons is what’s ruining the game experience. If you honestly think you should be able to waltz in and get free weapons of mass destruction at 0 cost then you have another thing coming.
I personally have never done the jumping puzzle and i have 15 of each siege weapons sans golem. It isn’t even hard to at least dot people when you’re zerging and get a ton of badges. I can easily get 100+ badges each WvW session I have. If you don’t like PvP, leave and let someone join who does. It isn’t fair for your server who is actually trying to win if all you want to do is PvE and do jumping puzzles.
While I can understand your opinion on this, jumping puzzles give a lot of players a great deal of enjoyment in their own rights. Anet should look at duplicating these puzzles in WvW and place them in PvE outside of WvW for those who enjoy doing them.
Beyond that, I completely support opposing servers to try anything they can to prevent their enemy server(s) from completing these jumping puzzles in the borderlands, as this is PvP. Go back and try the puzzle again at a later time, these siege weapons are not manned 24/7. I have gone through jumping puzzles with unmanned siege weapons present before, and just destroy them then.
Good luck!
Regardless of server population, that has nothing to do with the actual issue that the OP listed.
Players from a competing server are transferring to an enemy server, wasting resources purposefully such as at Garrison, Hills Keep or Bay Keep, in an attempt to place that server at a disadvantage and giving the other server better chance to take out these keeps.
Frankly, these players who activity logs show this happening should be perma-banned, end of discussion, as what they are doing quite literally violates the EULA and terms of service. This was not the intended design / use / function and anyone who tries to rationalize it is contributing to this exploit.
20+ players transfer from server A to their enemies on server B shortly after Garrison was taken from server A. These 20 players then consume server B resources at Garrison by placing flame rams inside the keep and using the Garrisons resources to build them and causing a major resources drain on this keep which could have been used in helping to repair or build defensive siege to counter an attack.
These 20 players then go do PvE or dance, etc, somewhere else and prevent 20 other players from entering WvW on that map, further hurting that servers ability to get a proper force together.
This is intentional with purpose to create an unfair advantage for the other server(s). These players deserve a permanent vacation from GW2 via account terminations.
bump, this should go with the above listed bug as well
ah yes, this explains why the ele could keep using this to destroy our siege equipment at further than 1600+ range. So how quickly will we get a hot fix for this? There are several elementalists taking full advantage of this in WvW and causing some real issues.
We took cliffside this morning, and I placed 2 ballista up top of a rock area to help defend the tower. Then we see this defender using some sort of skill that blinds us and does dmg, yet we cant hit him with our ranger, nor do our ballistas do any dmg to this player, even when using explosive shots and we get solid hits on him.
This player goes on to hit both ballista, 1 is several meters behind the other one, yet this player hits both. Rangers came up to try and hit him with their 1500 range, even another elementalist came up to try and hit that range, no one could hit this player!
Anet needs to fix this exploit / game mechanic issue as this is unfair game play.
Not sure how or why this is allowed to happen, as the distance between the player on that cliff and our siege are far greater then 1500+. This needs to be addressed as this is unreasonable and not fair when no one else can hit this player or do damage to them at that range.
(edited by Paladin.5268)
Adding bump because Anet refuses to respond to this. Weeks without a fix, I honestly am beginning to think their coding has major efficiency issues, as something like this would not go this long with RIFT.
At the very least, RIFT support would spawn the NPC’s while their devs worked on a hot fix, or support would just credit those who placed a ticket about it, once it was a known issue.
Lack of support will have a big impact here, and so far the lack of any type of real support is staggering. They do not have the tools to flag our characters for this SP??
Good grief! This is becoming increasingly frustrating for many players with weeks of this issue persisting =( It is hit or miss, and most of the time for many, it’s a miss. What baffles me, is that Anet states they have solid coding practices and their interns learn how to code efficiently.
For these type of issues, I am surprised at how long these type of fixes take. Do you not have any way to spawn these NPC’s? Does your In-Game Support team not have the proper tools to do this or the large number of other things that they should have access to? Some transparency after another week has gone by would be great.
Several NPC’s for skill challenges are missing across a large number of zones, and it has become very frustrating to wait for a server reset or for these issues to get coded in and fixed.
Defeat Warmaster Yulia in Vigilant Hills is gone, as usual. It seems like some of these NPC’s work for a very brief period of time and then the coding breaks somewhere. Players who have limited time and waiting on 1 or 2 broken skill challenges in several maps become frustrated and just stop trying to get map completions.
A handful of guild members have stopped logging in as they are tired of seeing a Dev post or patch notes state these issues are fixed when they are not, after a few weeks of these persistent issues. Unable to finish 100% map completion for others.
It would be great to have some level of In-Game Support like RIFT, in which GM’s were prompt in taking care of these outage issues by re-spawning the missing NPC’s. Now if Anet lacks the tools for their IGS team to do their job, then that is poor design on their part. CS plays a huge impact on any MMO. I really hope Anet takes a page from Trion (RIFT) and spends the money needed to give their IGS team the proper tools to get things done for their game in the near future.
Please consider making “Siege Weapons” as account bound, instead of soul bound. If I want to buy siege equipment, it doesn’t make sense why one of my alts cant use it in WvW. I am forced to play on 1 character to use the siege equipment.
I believe this was a simple oversight and hope Anet will make this change in the near future.
I understand the frustrations in travel fees scaling up with your level, and at 80 we do spend 2-3s for longer some jumps. The other side of this coin though, is that we can earn this back very quickly through an event participation, finding a few items off mobs we can sell to the vendor or break down for resources that sell for a good amount.
Regarding dungeon costs and repairs, I do not see this going away anytime soon, as Anet has specifically stated dungeons were meant to be hard. There are viable solutions that will minimize losses and deaths in every dungeon once you learn how to deal with the mechanics of the fight.
In one example the OP gave, Ascalon Catacombs, Asura path, I had a group that never did it before and completed it with very few actual deaths, as we watched, identified and executed a plan of action as we learned how things worked on the fly.
It can be brutal at times with some fights in some of the dungeons, I know, but I have also seen and spoken with others who have completed each of these encounters with minimal losses too, so it can be done. We just need to figure out the best way to make that happen.
Best of Luck!
Sometimes bad things happen even to the most experienced groups. From the gist of your post, you come across a bit as stating everyone should be punished for something bad happening during a boss fight, and thus, perpetuate the consequences to the rest of the group.
Note, some of this is done for players to learn the encounter, and once they do learn it, there are fewer deaths. Players are not required to look up videos online to see how to beat something, when they want to learn it themselves. I think you would find there are far fewer instances of this happening as players become more seasoned in learning each dungeon.
I think we may see this feature implemented in time and would be a welcome addition to our trade options.
[Suggestion] Now dungeon rewards scale, award 1 free armor repair upon completion of dungeon

From what you are describing, this is simply dungeon farming. Anet has stated they did not intent for players to do this over and over, 1 path for example in order to earn a large amount of coin / dungeon tokens, hence the recent changes to 2x per hour of the same story path.
That said, take some time, learn each path and do them 1x per day, and you will optimize your reward potential. Repair costs can usually be covered by items that dropped which you can vendor / sell. If you know the dungeon well, your group should not be dying all the time as everyone helps in getting downed players back on their feet before death sets in.
The key point to remember here, dungeons were met as optional, as the tokens you get are for dungeon armor skins, or as tokens needed towards a legendary weapon. Having some control over how quickly players obtain these things is up to Anet and feels quite reasonable.
Having a feature in which a guild may collect a small percentage of all coin earned by its members who have their guild support active is one thing, and a feature that may be viable in the future. That said, it would be up to the guild leadership to make that decision while dealing with the division that this can cause between its members.
Currently some guilds may ask their members to help donate a few silver each week (perhaps 5 silver per week) once they get past a certain level. While this may be a very modest request, some players will never feel comfortable giving a guild their hard earned coin, and should never be expected to.
In all, this comes down to guild policy / politics and having a supportive guild community that supports it. My suggestion, take some ideas to your guild leadership, discuss it, and then take it to your members. Creating a simple and realistic funding request is always best received with a sound plan and reasoning behind it.
Good Luck!
You raise some interesting points that may give a little more diversity to the game, but keep in mind what you are suggesting is something that would take a good amount of time in terms of design, concept, balancing, QA testing, etc. This type of change would have a better chance of happening in say, a future expansion / upgrade, in which new features are introduced.
I like the direction of your suggestions here, so please do not take my response as negative, just wanted to share some knowledge and feasibility.
To be honest, having lvl 80 exotic gear makes a big difference when doing catacombs exploration or any of the other dungeons up to the 70’s. Even though you are scaled down, you still have a good advantage because of the better gear.
While I understand you would like to see 1 token used as general currency among all dungeons, it will most likely not happen as everyone would flock to the lower lvl dungeons in order to get the higher lvl dungeon armor skins.
Anet said from the beginning they wanted dungeons to be hard and challenging. From what you have described, it sounds more like an issue with getting more players into the guild or making new friends on your server who want to run the dungeons you want.
Many groups have their own teamspeak, vent or mumble set up and willing to let you use it when grouping with them as well. I have personally experienced this many times when working with pugs and its a great way to meet new players.
My suggestion, learn these dungeons as best you can, watch some videos if you need to, take notes, etc, and then offer to lead players through them. Everyone had to start new at some point in time, and sometimes a little patience and guidance can go a long way in strengthening your community.
Best of luck!
Sorry, but no. They just played smart.
What you should have done was have someone make runs to the nearest supply camp and run back to the base, repairing the gate. If they weren’t using rams like you said and were frequently interrupting their DPS to ress dead players then two (or possibly even one) person repairing the gate could have kept them at bay indefinitely.
I think the general frustration and point the OP was getting at, is that it is nearly impossible to get players back into a tower when it is under siege by a large force of 40+ invaders. While many of us know sound strategy, some servers may not have the numbers needed to counter such an offensive zerg.
The core issue I believe is how sieges work, how AOE abilities from players can bypass gates and enroach far back on any tower’s walls, thus negating siege defenses. I have seen countless sieges in which a guild or group of players have spent 2+ gold building defenses, only to have all their cannons, ballista, and arrow carts destroyed very quickly by simply AOE abilities from players. This does not make sense, siege equipment should be more resilient and make a difference in maintaining a tower / keep.
Lots of topics on this and I am sure Anet is aware of and seen all the current strategies being used which some players call exploiting, however it is not the player’s fault that some game mechanics make it an acceptable means to attack or defend.
This is something I do believe we will see addressed in time once Anet has their other priorities taken care of in terms of game stability, hacked accounts, etc, which is prob taking up the majority of their time right now.
Submitting an in-game bug report would be helpful, along with specific details on the name of the events and karma quests you are encountering these issues.
For a monthly and especially because of the large investment you put into breaking down all the items needed to obtain it, there should be a substantial reward of coin (at least 50s-1g) along with appropriate level crafting resources.
This will not hurt the economy in any way as this is once every month. Make it worth while. Perhaps placing this in suggestion forums with what you would like to see as a reasonable reward would be best?
[BUG] Box of Berserker's Draconic Armor = Berserker's Gladiator Armor = Sad Charr
Posted by: Paladin.5268
I continue to see a lot of players posting here stating they made the same mistake, and feel bad for everyone who did make such a purchase. I know I may have come across a bit to harsh on my initial post, and I am not a crafter doing this. I have spent a lot of time trying to educate other players about this issue.
These things do take time, as Anet has already stated, they are aware of this and working on a solution, however there is currently no ETA on how they will implement a solid fix or resolve these purchases.
Simply upgrading players armor to the actual exotic armor would not be fair in any way, regardless of how vocal players who bought the armor box may be. They have to be fair to everyone, and giving the upgraded versions for free would raise a larger outrage from the general community, for those who are paying full price of these at 3+ gold each.
The box set does not give a full set of armor, which was also listed in the GW2 wiki, and I believe in Reddit as well. I do agree Anet should either remove the ability to craft this box set for now, or change the naming of it and set it to Rare (Yellow) color and am a bit surprised they have not done either of these after a full week+ and more players are being affected by this.
I will be curious to see what they come up with and also surprised that they do not have the in-game support tools created and available to refund items or coin. The solution for this will be challenging to say the least, so on that, I am truly sorry for everyone who did purchase this boxed set.
Unless each member of the team has completed the story mode first, they will not be able to enter for the exploration mode.
WvW is supposed to go to two week cycles. Really that’s a good cycle to actually get a nice return on your defensive/offensive investments as well as actually reap the rewards on your benefits. If you reset all the servers then everyone else would get cheated simply because your opponents aren’t trying. If you only reset your current set of three, then you’d be back at their spawn camping them again within a day.
Not trying? I guess your one of the few “hardcore” players with a very narrow mindset. IoJ was trying as hard as we could, but we have our own server issues, such as no real over night presence. It is not anyone’s fault, as several of our guilds took towers and keeps, claimed them, and dumped a large amount of coin into upgrades and siege equipment to defend, only to find it all gone once we had to get to sleep and lose it 5-6 hours later during that time.
Please do not come here telling any server “we are not trying” when you have no clue what our guilds are trying hard to achieve on IoJ. We all want to have a fun time, being mean and condescending doesn’t help.
I have been doing WvW for the past two hours now against ET. On the whole they are average, but their population in WvW is dwarfing us. They have the population to gate camp while simultaneously camp everything they hold, and even have a few left over to roam. They don’t have a lot camping the controls, but even 1 or 2 is enough to call in a wave of destruction if we try to take anything.
We take something and less than a minute later it is in ET’s hands again. Their server population may be lower, but they WvW population is overwhelming. They are at their population cap 24/7. While we are only fielding 30 to 40 most of the time.
The outmanned buff needs reworked, and the orbs need to be completely removed.
if we are average as you say….what does that make you, the loser?
there is nothing average about a cohesive server working together. guilds and mercs as one. (u notice i dont call them pugs) on ET we have no pugs
u also were most likely not fighting when we conquered the map initially. you are now fighting smaller warbands. if by some miracle you start taking some keeps, you will see us “average” exotic 80s come out to play, stick around.
and no…we earned those orbs and didnt “fly in” to grab them either.
Actually to clarify, ET did indeed swoop in to IoJ and took the Orb within the first 10 minutes of the start up. We had a good 20+ here defending, while your warband of aprox 35-40 just crushed up utterly. Now whether there was an issue with our servers not being able to field enough players as Anet has stated before there were balance issues with some servers not being able to get the same number of players into the world servers was in play or not, I couldn’t say.
We put up a lot of siege equipment and did our best to stop your war machine from taking our orb, and once it was taken, we had no way to get it back, even as we ported back to our central keep and headed east to try and cut you off, it simply wasn’t enough.
Sadly most servers do not have the quality of WvW centric only guilds like ET does. Please do not expect us to. Some of our guilds are doing their best, but the demoralizing issues that ensue doesn’t help us either.
ET here.
there are several reasons why you guys are having such a terrible time, most of which arena net doesnt have control over.
1. coordination: our server is ment to be a dedicated WVWVW server. every guild who is here, its here solely for WVW.
2. 4 wvw focused servers: right now there are 4 servers who are dedicated to WVW in this way, because of this there will always be 1 server not in the top bracket who will be placed against lower population, lower coordinated servers.
3. free transfers: i can not stress this enough. FREE TRANSFERS DURING WEEK MATCHES IS A BAD IDEA. i scouted every bracket this morning and it is the same story on every one. 1 server is rofl stomping the other 2. the reason for this is because when the 1 server started winning early on due to other factors, EVERYONE jumped ship and transfered onto that server for the week, for bonuses or god know what else. arena net needs to stop this if they hope to keep server balance alive.as of right now there are only a few things you can do.
1.start working together with your server. communication between guilds is absolutely mandatory. this isnt wow and the tribal c**k slapping isnt going to help you. either definitively set 1 guild as your grand puba, or agree that no one guild is better then another (this is the hardest step and inevitably diplomacy crashes and burns at this point, coz the internet is for big kids and big kids dont play nice)
2. if your really want to win. work for it, dont just roll over and die when you get beaten up. learn from your loses and use them to your advantage. i can tell you that before ruin became the dominant force in every game it plays, it spent 2/3rds of its existence fighting as the underdog and losing MANY MANY battles. its not the wins that define your force, its how you learn from your loses. use this time to study our strategy (and trust me we have them), from there find ways to break up that strat using class mechanics, siege, leet skillz.wvwvw is not ment to be fair, and while yes ET is beating you guys remember WE ARE STILL ONE OF THE LOWEST POPULATION SERVERS IN THE GAME, if you concentrated your players you could be fighting us toe-to-toe all it takes is a little coordination and determination.
*edit: on reading this it does sound condicending as hell, and i really dont mean it that way. arena net needs to make some changes but overall imo the game has a pvp solution to all your pvp problems, you just need to understand that wvw requires much more information/communication/work to be successful. this isnt something that happens over night, it takes weeks of diplomacy, months of leadership training and in our case years of practice to get to the point we are today.
I can certainly understand the points you make, and the transfers are part of it during the week match ups right now. The other side of the coin, is that most of the servers, IoJ being 1, is not a 24/7 hard core WvW server and will most likely never will be.
Getting the other guilds to work together is very challenging, and not having an overnight core of players also hurts us. There are several guilds on IoJ that really try hard in WvW, we use all sorts of tactics, anti-tactics, and doing better at being cohesive, but when we get into some of our border lands and see 15-20+ allied players just sitting there /dancing and not helping, that screws us from getting other players in that want to actually contribute and try hard.
Every server is different, every server will have good guilds, mediocre guilds, and groups of players that just do not care. Yelling in caps in map chat causes contention, frustration ensues when there is not enough comrade to make the server work together efficiently.
IoJ will continue to do our best, but know we have our share of frustrations and when we try to get players back together in an attempt to push out again, we do not get many willing to do WvW because of the demoralized factors and seeing that ET has all 3 orbs, gives you a rather sizable advantage along with all the % perks from getting and maintaining a 3-4x lead over your competition.
Hopefully we will find more appropriate pairings in future matches, as some of us have learned better tactics and can’t wait to use them in future WvW with servers that also do not have a hard core 24/7 presence. Nothing against ET, your just a well oiled war machine for this single purpose, IoJ is not.
Quote:
“I am on eredon terrace in this match right now.
We we have 30 people at each gate keeping you bottled up, and another 70 elsewhere farming or doing jumping puzzles. We never see more then 30 of you leave your spawn.
Where is your other 100 players?"
When your ET server rolls in and takes all orbs and you have an alliance with guilds that span 24/7 on your server, it tends to take away any and all “fun factor” or desire to continue fighting.
Simply put, Isle of Janthir is NOT an acceptable match up against ET, as we do not have the night coverage that you do. Many of us in my guild (The Guardians) have spent a lot of coin buying siege equipment, rolling out as a guild in force, and doing our best to hold towers or keeps, only to lose it all because we cannot maintain it over night.
We lost our Aussie guilds here, as I have not seen any more recruitment on IoJ after day 1 of being matched with your server. Apparently fun for ET is to roffle stomp other servers and keep the pressure 24/7, then have the balls to come into these forums and ask where our players are? Do some research in the future, we are not a hard core WvW server and do the best we can against other reasonable servers who may not have a 24/7 hard core presence.
My understanding 100% was also supposed to award you with 2 Legendary items?
Currently these armor and weapons are not worth the huge amounts of karma required, as the skins and stats can be obtained through other means. Crafted gear, random drops, or items from the mystic forge. Anet needs to re-evaluate all these skins and bring the karma prices in line or introduce more rare / exotic skins which can only be purchased from these karma vendors.
Tom, I think you miss understand the OP. He is talking about the crafted boxes of armor that armorsmiths can make once learned through the mystic forge. Knowing that this exotic armor usually sells for 3+ gold per piece, and some player is selling a box labled as “Exotic” for 10g, should raise a red flag.
There are posts about other players buying this box of armor with greed in their eyes thinking they are getting an Exotic set, when really they are only getting a rare set worth about 3-4g.
Stay away from any exotic box set for now until Anet changes how they label these crates. It is deceptive and currently Anet is unable to issue refunds for these purchases.
How are you trying to sell the items? Are they in your bank or in your personal inventory? In order to sell any item, it has to be in your inventory, at which time you can right click on the item and select to sell it.

While I can understand each players frustration with purchasing a box that is labled “Exotic”, almost every one of you also openly admitted that it sounded too good to be true, as you knew each piece goes for 3g+
Sure, you spent 10g and didn’t get what you thought you were getting, but asking for a free exotic set to compensate you? Really?!? Anet is not at fault and we have a wiki and other resources available. You all made impromptu decisions without doing any research first. So in all fairness, you need to share the blame as well.
I do not believe Anet should refund anyone who purchased the gear, as that would be inflating the economy as the goods were bought the seller(s) have already earned and possibly used the coin from the proceeds.
Lesson learned, and in the future I would highly encourage players to ask questions in chat, take some time and do some research, etc. The deal looked too good to be true, and here you are crying foul thinking you were going to get a full exotic set for half the price it currently sells for and find out that is not what you got.
Character: Thadios (Isle of Janthir)
I had chose the Ogre story line, but the next day when I did it, I was on the Frog one instead. Very frustrating as I did not want to do the Frogs, but gave up on Anet resolving this in a timely manner, so completed it to move on. =(
