Patchup.1053

Welcome back.
It is definitely worth getting the expansion even if you decide not to get the seasons. Many dailies now include at least one expansion related activity, event, etc. There are also Elite skills/traits, Flight, a new profession, Guild halls and related bonuses, Mastery tracks such as legendaries, fractals, and others.

Since the patch, I have the same Network error. It doesn’t matter which character or what location the character is in.

Overflowing with rage

Patchup.1053

There is no perfect solution to make everyone happy all the time.

One reason, I can see, for the first 10 minutes rule, is to make sure we don’t have people jumping in on the last part just for the finale reward. It is a race. The race needs lots of people for the “entire” event. Even as it is, many invasions end without getting Scarlet.

I have been in an event and crashed within one minute of killing Scarlet.
It was frustrating. But I honestly still had fun the other 44 minutes.

I feel for those that have not hit the achievement but I doubt the overflow problem is a wide spread one. I have a very large and active guild, if overflow was a problem I would have heard much more chatter about it. Nor did I see any chat in Map.

Achievements- interactive & goal oriented

For some players, the achievements are a large part of the game.
I like the enhancements already made, such as tracking.
I want more.

I have often been awarded an achievement and not known what it was for.
Yes, a search will find it, but only if I remember what it was after I escaped the angry mob trying to kill me.
A “recent” section would help here. Also clicking on the “pop-up” should open the achievement window to the catagory the achievement is under. The inventory system does this already.

Achievement based mini-missions, in addition to the dailies. If you only have an hour to play, This might be a good goal to keep you entertained and give you a sense of accomplishment when you log off. The key word here is “mini.”

Another post mentioned passive rewards for reaching slayer levels. Rewards like this might be nice. Maybe if you kill 2000 bats you learn 2% evasion of bats or 1 percent damage to bats. This is not for mini-mission but long term dedication.

I feel like Anet created a game for a slightly different demographic than most other MMOs. The game stays away from the hardcore raiding which requires hours and hours of dedication to unlock the best parts of the game. By not doing this they allow the person that works, has a family, and other responsibilities to participate in almost all aspects of the game.

The achievement system is another way to keep Goal Oriented Gaming for those that can only logon for a few hours a week.

New wardrobe system!

I am 100% for a seperate wardrobe bank, like the materials bank.
Make it account bound.
This would only add more Gem Purchases.
Collectors have a strong desire to fill those empty bank slots.

If Anet really wanted to profit from this, make it a soulbound wardrobe on the character, but with enough slots to cover ALL costumes.
I am sure people would buy multiple sets of certain costumes.

In either case, slots must be added when new costumes become available.

There is a desire for mounts! [merged]

A mount would be nice for cosmetic reasons. A slight speed increase might encourage more exploration, rather than way point around. The cost of a WP is designed to do this as well.

But I would not want it to pull away from exploration, so no flying mounts.

Make it a Gem Store purchase with some mounts as a rare/holiday/event drop.

The RP utility is obviously there. Plus we need something to ride when we wear our riding clothes.

GW2, Holy trinity, or just healing.

GW2 is more about damage mitigation than straight healing. Every profession has this ability.

I was a healer in WoW and in Guild Wars. Healing is fun, but much of it was just staring at the groups health bars. GW2 design is meant to keep you participating in the combat. You’re paying attention to the enemy so you can time an interrupt, you are looking for that elite skill animation so you can pop your boon utility/skill.

There are talents/skill that let your boons transfer to other party members. (I think) If you want to be a “healer”, find this in whatever profession you use.

Then there are the combo fields, many people don’t fully grasp how this can signifigantly help in a fight, when there is synergy. Many fields have an imeadiate effect AND the finisher effect. The finisher has options depending on what any other player want to do with it.
—An elementalist puts down healing rain, it heals/removal but each time you shoot from within, you add regeneration to yourself. Or you could use a skill to make a Blast and AOE heal the group a second time, or leap into it for a stright self heal, or use a whirl skill to shot out water bolts, which I think slow the enemy and damage.

—Light fields=condition removal, dark= lifesteal; all this by shooting through a field.

There is so much more than spamming 5 skills.

Uropygid.3402, I had the same problem. I fixed it by asking some friends to mail me enough letters to fill my mailbox. Within 2 minutes it “pushed” through my gem store order, followed by those letters. This was all done around 11:20pm EST 2/8/13.
