Unrelenting Assault Range Error

The range on Unrelenting Assault reads as 450 but that clearly isn’t the case. I cannot use the ability at max range but have no problems activating it within range 200. This inaccurate description has gotten me killed more times than I care to admit when I go to use the ability only to get repeated “out of range” messages across my screen in red.

Please take a look into this and get the skill updated to state its real range.

Please, as this is important to me. During Halloween, there was the Mad Prince’s outfit, I saw picture of it all over the place when I was out in town that day, I got VERY excited about this new, and very necro- esque armor, only to have my hopes and dreams shattered when it was revealed to me that they were town clothes. Will limited time clothing come back for a week at a time so that those that were not able to, or would like to take advantage of these new changes can get the look they truly want?

You all know what I am referring to, the Nightmare Tree at the end of Twilight Arbor, Tequatl, The Claw of Jormag, the list goes on for almost every large scale boss. Necromancer marks do not work on creatures or things with yellow names at all. This is absurd given that it is one of our highest DPS weapons. How can this possibly be “working as intended” when it seems so crippling for PvE? It has been over a year now, I keep telling myself this is a bug and so does everyone else I know who mains a Necromancer. I understand that minions just got a huge buff to HP and we had some skill fixes, but this seems like something that should have been addressed release week.

An estimated less than 9% of the GW2 population play necromancers as main characters (based off of at least 10 polls on reddit, one hosted by Anet themselves). Therefor, Anet has little to no incentive to fix them quickly. Is it fair? No, but in the long run seeing as how guardian, ele, and theif get played the most they will get fixed the fastest. I will continue to play my broken necro, who gets nerfed before she gets fixed because I love necro.

Necro has the highest survival rate out of ANY profession other than guardian. As a necro I am always the last person standing and my main weapon set is Dagger/Warhorn. Also, this dungeon update doesn’t change dungeon party dynamics, it just forces people to do what Anet wanted in the first place. Die less, cooperate more. Everyone just has to get better at not hugging red circles.

I’m having targeting issues that I’ve noticed with my Ranger. She will randomly stop firing, pick a different target and start firing at them, loses current target (have to re-select them), and doesn’t always auto-fire. Sometimes have to hit the 1 button multiple times. It’ll fire 1 arrow at a time until it sticks.

Ranger specific issue is Poison Volley randomly picks a target and I’m lucky if it’s the one I’m currently shooting. Otherwise, it selects a new main target and fires at them.

Sadly, it’s because right and left click have the same functions when it comes to selecting things. This means if you right click to move your camera, but have it hovering over an ally or monster, it will select what you are hovered over in the process of changing your camera angle.

It’s one of those human things to do something with the path of least resistance and danger, especially when there is a reward at the end. I could make enemies never drop their aggro on players and force them to fight every single mob, but I don’t see that as a viable solution right now.
I think the better solution is to look at why people are skipping things, and approach from a different angle. Trash mobs have too much HP, and can’t be counted on for lucrative drops from a Risk/Time vs Reward, so people interested in making money (most groups) aren’t incentivized to do it, whereas the end chest/boss are more guaranteed and accountable returns on time and risk. I also think there is something to be said about interesting trash mob mechanics making them more enjoyable of a fight.
I can’t make the rewards from trash mobs so lucrative though that people just farm the first couple trash mobs/boss in a dungeon and then rinse/repeat. We encountered this when people just farmed the first boss in an instance and then restarted it (earlier around launch time), and we had to adjust the content as a result. It’s a fine line you have to walk to encourage players to get to the end, but make the process of getting there rewarding enough as well.

I don’t imagine this next update will resolve all the skipping behavior. The path of least resistance is engrained in people, and even if I do everything I could to incentivize people, there will still be those who skip stuff. I have been fixing exploits that will require players to complete more of the events in dungeons, but I am sure people will still skip what they can to get to their end goal.

For now I would encourage those not looking to skip to find some folks who don’t like skipping and make a guild with them… or maybe look for guilds that are dedicated to not skipping, and tag along with them. I’m in a couple of them (anonymously), and it really is an effective solution to playing the game the way you want to play it: Find other people with similar interests and band together with them.

People skip mobs because loot tables are garbage, why spend the time to kill a group of mobs when all they drop are porous bones or blobs of goo? I do AC a lot, and I mean a lot, champion/elite mobs aren’t worth killing because 9 times out of 10 they drop merch food items, once you can’t use at all, no blues, no greens, not even a yellow. I fought Kholer this morning, know what he gave me? No bag of wondrous goods, and a glob of goo. His chest gave me 1 tonic, 1 low level back piece that doesn’t even upgrade when I throw 4 of them into the forge, and a ring I can’t salvage or merch. I understand its luck of the draw, but the deck is a little wonky.

Back before GW2 came out I played around with a skill editor and got my necro all in order to be a damage/tank hybrid, or so I thought. At the time half of the skills for my projected build didn’t work and the ones that did, weren’t reading my stats properly.

That was my build that I ran from 1-80 without fault I unlocked everything for that build set up and used it for a long time, not realizing how terribly gimped I was. However, I enjoy the fact that my necro can get up in somethings face and not run the risk of blowing up instantly as other casters do. I want to refine the build I had once before to be the tanky/damage hybrid I had hoped it would be. Any and all suggestions welcome.

I don’t know if this has been said yet, but minions will not attack anything with a yellow name, this applies to objects, passive mobs, and large event bosses such as dragons or the shadow behemoth. A way around this, but only for a short period of time, is to force the minion to use an ability, but they will only continue to attack for a few seconds after commanded, then they stop, sometimes activating their abilities does not even trigger them to strike against yellow named enemies. This makes it very frustrating as a minion master to do any large scale even when the majority of our damage output sits around looking at the pretty scenery.

All wintersday I did the jumping puzzle until I was having thumb cramps, got 1000 presents and with only 19 presents left, I finally got my unbreakable bell. Of course I went to try it out immediately, but what I discovered, is that my Necromancers’ full set of Superior Vampirism runes seems to bug out the bell. Many of the runes “on hit” effects attempt to trigger while I hold the bell and this causes me to stow the bell, in mid song. I have a hunch that other rune sets with on hit effects will effect the bell this way too.

I opened 110 chests for the holiday event, and a large portion of them only gave me 1 or 2 items. I kept thinking “Oh hey, these are new items, maybe you aren’t supposed to get more than one of them at a time” in regards to the influence items and bags of coins. Seeing that this was not an intended feature makes me sad, but it has been fixed and hopefully compensation for the items lost will come soon.

My husband mains a human female ranger, I have a charr male ranger, one thing we both utterly despise about medium armor is…wait for it..BUTTFLAPS. Almost every single piece of medium armor has to have some gaudy buttflap-like cape that drapes over the legs. Sure in GW1 buttflaps were pretty common, but they weren’t the only thing you had available. I think out of every armor set for medium armor, there are 3 chest pieces that don’t have buttflaps. In comparison, that is a lot of buttflaps.

I farm the 2 camps in cursed shore and salvage every single piece of light armor I get. You don’t need a fancy salvage kit, it really doesn’t help all that much and its not cost effective. On a good day I can haul about 50 gossamer scraps.

Spectral Grasp:
Spectral grasp no longer pulls the enemy, instead the enemy is slammed onto their face causing all other enemies in the area to swarm the Necromancer, as intended.

It is known that 32 bit operating systems do not technically have the option for high graphics. You can (please don’t be mad Jeffrey) trick the game into going for high settings by adjusting things on the character selection screen. This may be going around anets intent or it could honestly be a bug. I don’t know, but pweeeeeeese anet don’t take high graphics away from me and my 32 bit system. My necro is so pretty with them.

No, the skill has some targeting + function errors. I used to use it a lot in PvE until I got tired of it constantly messing up. In dungeons why I go to pull a mob, most of the time the mob just gets slammed on their face instead of pulled to me, causing all the other ones in the group to come. I’ve submitted multiple bug reports on the issue. Hope it gets fixed soon.

From what I understand, you cannot craft or obtain Rabid armor. There is a “Seal of the Rabid [level 50]” and level 65/80 upgrades of it, but no armor. I’m not sure why.

If it really doesn’t exist then… I really did just waste my time leveling tailoring.

I think I’m quitting this game at this point. Too much time invested lost. I leveled tailoring so I could run CoF with my guild for weapons instead of twilight for the armor. I was going to craft my armor, and run CoF with them for the weapons.

Mesmer heal Ether Feast does not heal for proper amount.

Just as the title says, Ether Feast does no heal for the proper amount. Doing the personal story quest; A light in darkness, I discovered this. The quest is locked at lvl 55 for those who will want to know. The majority of numbers below are not exacts, simply averages. The heal says it will recover 2776 + 312 PER illusion or clone however my results differed greatly most of the time. I first noticed something wrong with my heal was when I became poisoned. Other degen effects such as bleed and burn also produce a lessened healing effect with only a measly 820 with no + to healing regardless of the number of clones/illusions I have out. When I have a single clone out the healing effect is 981, still pretty far from the 2776 I’m supposed to get and I don’t even get the + 312 for my single clone. Having 2 clones out seems to be the only accurate heal, as every time I was given 2776 + 605 (still not 100% accurate but much better). Finally, with 3 clones out I get an astounding 825 with no additional healing whatsoever.

Also please note, my mesmer has only 10 points into inspiration which offers +100 to healing at best and I don’t know if that has an effect on this math or not, even if it did I don’t think it would cause my healing to restore less than its intended number.

It’s not, you go into options (F11) its right in front of your face at that point. It’s called Rotation Speed.

Make Karma Account Based

We were able to have many things in GW1 account based, Kurzick/Luxon title comes to mind first as I did a lot of JQ/FA. I think this would encourage people to grind less and focus more on playing the game. Think about it, if karma was shared across all characters, then what is stopping you from making a new character and playing through the game with them, enjoying a different personal story, learning new things. The main gripe I see about karma is that “I want all my karma, I want to farm for karma morning, noon and night.”. If karma was shared, you would never have to; just load up a new, lower level character and have fun starting all over.

Currently, we have a group seeking system that doesn’t do much for the community and as a result doesn’t get used and allows map chat to get spammed with group shouts. At its current state the occurrence goes something like this, player 1 opts into the LFG feature. Player 2 comes along and needs a group. Player 2 sees that you are in need of a group, but not at all what you need a group for and instead of whispering you, they go about shouting in LA or the intended dungeon zone. It would make things so much easier if you, player 1, were able to select what you were looking for. This feature should also not be exclusive per server, people from other servers searching for the same thing should be allowed to join you. A player on another server should get a more detailed message, something along the lines of the travel queue window alerting, them to the fact that the party lead is on server X and would like to have them join from server Y. I would love to hear other peoples thoughts on the matter.
