Bump again… apparently still not kittening as important as a kittening dye issue.
(edited by Piriel.5197)
Bump and random crap to make 15 chars.
Of course nothing is bugged in the game
Probably that’s why the game bugs forum has 773 pages in less than one year for an awesome number of 63+ posts/day. Bigger than the general discussion btw which is concerning to say the least. Good job!
Back on topic, here’s yet another bump for the awesome Liadri encounter bugs.
I suggest looking at changing your build/strategy to kill her. She is the last contender you face, and for that reason she is very difficult. I have seen many people complaining saying that she’s too tough for a Warrior since they have weaker ranged attacks, however, that is the profession I beat her with in ~50 tries. It’s all about studying the fight, knowing your profession well, keeping your composure, and executing.
@ArchieD.6972 I have no idea what the hell are you doing posting in this thread. The OP was asking why they don’t do fixes on it and you come replying kitten about how she’s supposed to be tough and “strategy”. Did you even bother to read what this was about?
@OP yes I wonder myself… I guess no one really gives a kitten about how buggy content is are as long as in every post there’s a fanboy stating how awesome or easy it is. Welcome to GW2 forums.
They probably didn’t realize that turning it off can remove the blinding effect. I have a feeling that the effect is intentional.
Either way, bump again, no one seems to care about it so we’ll see each other in 2 days for another bump.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Various-Liadri-bugs/first#post2617072 – multiple serious issues with the final boss of an event – Ignored for almost a week now. Same goes for the other topics opened for the same problem.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Sounds-missing-and-1-Guardian-bug – Sound bug – Reply in the same day. Clearly more important than the issue above.
Disappointing.
Oh yeah I forgot to mention, still bugged!
I’m fairly sure someone figured out already that it’s not working from a player’s perspective. The problem is it’s working from a number’s perspective. With new content every two weeks and rewards that are unobtainable after that and account bound, they have the perfect solution to keep people playing this game.
You’re not gonna tell me that the people you see now online play it for fun. They play it for farming, minis, achievement points etc. And they’ll play as much as it’s needed in order to obtain what they’re looking for since they know they won’t have another chance like this. Thus an artificial increase of population, good numbers to show to the higher-ups, everyone’s happy and the game doesn’t get scrapped (we all know NCSoft is into that kind of thing).
So yes, it’s not working but it will keep the game afloat. A buggy game, with lazy design for some of the events, but beats loosing your job.
Rubberbanding is not a speed hack.
Video 2 : you are swiming at the surface of the water loosing your 25% movement speed, so yeah the thief is chasing you down…
That ^
Stop reporting people with no reason. Also aliens!
Still bugged people.
Bump since in 4 fights today I’ve experienced 3 different bugs stated in this post.
What the hell would it take for you people to stop kittening ignoring these issues? I see you’re all quick to react and ask more details about anything that contains “can skip”, “can make gold”, “can farm”. How about you fix some other kind of problems too?
And it did it using interesting and new boss mechanics.
Congrats on beating her but if you consider the one-shots interesting boss mechanics you need to play some games that actually bother on implementing AI. I agree on the fact that it’s different that a punch-bag boss and I guess that makes it more fun for you, but how a room full of AoEs and mobs that down you instantly is “interesting” is beyond me.
In particular the sylvari elite skill because the bosses would never try to break the vines. Our solution was to remove immobilize from the equation and balance the bosses without it.
Wouldn’t coming up with a half-decent AI be a better solution? The current AI it’s from my point of view worse than in GW1. At least there mobs would try to body-block you and close combat mobs would try to defend to a degree the ranged and healers.
Back to the topic at hand nothing in a game should be 100% resistant to CC effects. A certain degree of resistance, the higher tier the boss is the higher the resistance makes sense. The AI should know how to react to CC instead. To completely remove CC from bosses because “they never try to ….” sounds like being lazy.
Please try to focus on quality over quantity.
@OP don’t worry, no one likes the update, everyone who actually plays this content does it either for the mini or the legendary bosses farming.
It’s sad that instead of trying to come up with fun events they try to get their numbers up by rewarding or better said bribing people to play certain content. It’s much easier to add loot or minis rather than come up with ideas unfortunately
Most beautiful mechanics ever!
GW2 got us used to awesome mechanics like punchbag bosses who one-shot you with an attack before, but a fight where everything can one-shot you? Wow, amazing, who would have thought it’s possible to come up with such a revolutionary concept?
Oh and nice touch with putting everything on the laggiest map you can find, “for the feeling”. Everyone knows that instance crap is overrated anyway and every MMORPG player prefers to lag rather than play fluently. Adds to the challenge right? Very intelligent design.
Congratulations ANet, you really did change the MMORPG world like you promised!
Does not change the fact that it’s been broken and reported since the game released yet they put living story events in there. How about next time trying to avoid putting events in areas that are known to be bugged? Metrica Province ban-fest ring a bell?
You people with the pretty red tags realize that dungeon entry is still bugged to hell right? To the point where you can actually get a character unable to enter a dungeon this time.
Group with some people from another server (same region) getting pop-up that does absolutely nothing, walk to dungeon entrance, try to enter – separate instance. Guest on their server, regroup/have everyone leave dungeon and regroup/restart client – nothing. End result: A character that’s unable to enter that dungeon anymore. And I mean unable to enter AT ALL. Group or no group, portal’s completely dead.
Yes it would be nice if you’d fix some of the bugs that get introduced with every update and maybe hire some qualified QA. I’m seeing more bugs being introduced than actual content.
Thanks!
I have leveled a small army of characters, I have been through the map, I have completed these areas several times over, I do not want to go back to these areas, again and again. The events give less karma and money than higher level areas and the drops from mobs are terrible, so all I am doing is wasting my time.
snip…
So in my opinion it is a terrible tactic
snip…And I cannot argue for your personal situation. I would have to lay out “greater good”, “the sum is greater than each individual”. Part of my reply does point to “We had it easy” so it’s harder to take on something not as easy as the new normal. For example if it were reversed, at first we had to go to each map each day and do something for our daily, then that was changed to we needed 50 kills and 25 gathers and that is it. People wouldn’t be put off as much because we went from harder to easier. We’ve been spoiled I reckon, I am ok with the change because I don’t perceive it as unreasonable and again see some logic in it.
Terrible Tactic? That seems a little strong. They need to get us around the map, this is a step, perhaps not the best one, I’ll just call it a start.
While the greater good is questionable from my point of view, since I don’t see how walking people all around the world would benefit anyone I understand your point of view.
“Terrible Tactic” I agree. What they’re doing with the dailies as well it’s called “herding”. They’ve been doing this from the release of fractals and honestly I’m sad to see the achievements go the same way. What happened to “play the game the way you want to”? You might argue that one can still do that and not do dailies/fractals but then again one would be broke all the time. And for a game that shouts “non-grindy” with every press release they do, this game is very unfriendly for a casual player.
TheBlueI.3486
Some of them are specific but now you have a choice. I can’t see why choosing 5 out of 9 is worse than forced to do 5 specific ones. Hence, I think the current system is better than the one before.
I don’t think anyone argues about the 5/9 issue. Everyone here seems unhappy that while before all options made sense for a lvl 80 char, right now most of them don’t. That’s not an encouragement, that’s imposing content on someone. And in my opinion that’s bad. What if I don’t own a costume? Should I pay some money to buy one just because the daily needs it? Or stalk LA for 2h until someone decides to do a cauldron? Being forced to play certain content contradicts my idea of fun.
My point is I used to log in for 1h a day and do stuff with my friends or my guild. And at the end maybe I’d have to go kill 2-3 mobs for diversity, but other than that my daily was done. I did not need to stress over it or allocate special time for it, and that’s what a daily achievement should be in my opinion. A reward for spending time and doing something in the game each day. Not a reward for going out of your way to play certain content. The latter is pretty much the definition of grinding.
Anyway, that’s my two cents.
[Edit: spellcheck and stuff]
(edited by Piriel.5197)
I agree with this 100%, there are times that a pet needs to be stowed because it becomes a liability, even when in combat.
~Fighting the Maw in fractals is probably the best example, it often targets my pet several times in a row even when my pet is dead. This makes it annoying to have a ranger in the group because the fight will likely take much longer.
~Or when your group is about to wipe, the thief in the group comes along to save everyone with shadow refuge, but oh wait no, your pet is still visible so the mobs aoe hits everyone and you all wipe anyway (Or even worse, it hides your pet and not you, even though I am sure it is suppose to prioritize you over your pet).
~It is also a lot harder to pull mobs when your pet is out, especially in tightly packed areas, since the moment you attack your pet will pop out even when set to avoid combat, they are still likely pull the mobs you where trying to avoid. So you end up with both on you. This counts not just for pulling mobs but any situation where you are specifically trying to avoid mobs while still needing to use skills.
~I am not even going to explain jumping puzzles because I am sure every ranger knows what an annoyance pets can be with those.
The point being there are certain circumstances where stowing a pet in combat is needed.
When I have my pet set to ‘guard’ then it can pop out whenever I take damage or attack, but… if I set my pet to ‘avoid combat’ and I stow it away, I expected it to stay stowed away even if I take fall damage or start attacking, until I actually choose to bring it back out.
I do not expect a damage increase when pet is stowed, I simply want to stop being a liability to my group by having proper control over my pet.
Totally agree as well. Not being able to stow pets in combat makes a ranger a liability in dungeons (especially fractals). I can’t count how many times SR was useless because of a dead pet, how many times the Maw decided to target ranger pets so often that the team kept running out of crystals, etc.
I’d like to see this implemented even if it would mean no buff at all for a ranger playing without a pet. Honestly I’d just like to be able to provide a better contribution to my team rather than a damage buff.
Beloved moderators,
In an attempt to not make a “frivolous” post which will probably be deleted without notice I kindly request information and an official statement about the clear rollback that took place today on the GW2 servers. In case it hasn’t been brought to your attention, people experienced a loss of items/levels/time and as a paying customer I feel like I am entitled to an explanation.
Sincerely,
Angry asura.
This is most likely the most stupid idea I ever read on this forum. If you want to see what happens when a P2P game goes F2P check out the Aion-Gameforge fiasco. Do you really want a game filled with bots and item prices drop to almost nothing?
Also, maybe this: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Last_Refuge
Then it’s rather easy to escape.
I noticed a wonderful spike of drop rate over the lost shores weekend but it dropped back to normal after the event finished on Sunday night. Even in WvW the drop rate actually felt “right”. Does anyone else think this is a coincidence that drops rates were great when there was a free trial and event over the weekend which suddenly dropped off?
Yes, it probably falls into the same “We’ve updated the game for routine maintenance only. No content changes were included.” that stopped the karka events on all the overflows. Why they change stuff and have to lie about it, like we’re a bunch of morons who wouldn’t notice it’s beyond me. But we’ll see what the next update brings I guess.
I lost hope in a response from them on actual stuff that bothers/concerns the customers. The trend of these forum seems to be “We’ll respond to the threads created to feed our ego and ignore or close all the rest).”
In all the screamin’ and Hyperbole I don’t think I’ve seen anyone thank Anet for givin’ us one of those things we’ve been askin’ for, for months – hair and body customization packs. By makin’ a purchase in the gem store we can now change our hair for 250 gems or our entire body, includin’ gender, for 350. Can’t change race, but no one really expected that, and can’t change name yet, (which I didn’ want, but some people could use) but the rest? Yes, thank you Anet! I bought me a hairstyle pack earlier today and actually got ta change my hair for the first time in three months … lemme tell ya, my thief, she was getting tired of wearin’ the same hairdo everywhere, all the time.
So, whooo! Score!
I’d rather have some fixes for the kitten game. But then again they can’t put bug fixes in the gem store to buy for real money. Thank you!
I ran FOTM level 10 and received the daily chest. I then ran level 4. Shouldn’t I have received a second chest without the chance for ring ect? I didnt get anything from 4.
No, that’s why it’s called a daily chest. If anyone in your group didn’t do the Maw event, your whole group will be taken there. At the end of it you’ll either receive a chest + daily reward (if it’s the first time you do it that day) or a chest and no daily (if you did it before).
Yeah, I am not sure what they are thinking. They could make a lot of money, if they offer them in the gem shop.
They can make even more money if the put them in a RNG chest that costs half the price of the Halloween mini pack and has a kitten rate of dropping them.
dude, Nexon loves money. So yes, there will be special stuff inside the blc.
There, I fixed it for you
Anyway, they’ll probably make something like the Consortium chests, that cost more than a BL key just because there’s less money for them in BLC. People have been saving up keys which means they’ll buy less.
Not the halloween one, but the one you can acquire through the Black Lion chests…how rare are they? I want one but I don’t want to waste copious amount of money for a failed hope
No one really knows. There’s a drop rate research but it’s a bit of a small data set. Still, according to that, out of 54 chests not one drop. VERY rare seems to be the keyword here. I wouldn’t gamble on it if I were you.
Then I guess on the colossus map if you fall trough the floor if you get blown by the wind on the planks it’s considered a map bug. Your character can still see the party members but the party members can’t see you. This means that if someone falls trough the floor the whole group needs to suicide to reset. I’m hoping this would take the same priority as the other bugs, you know just to kill that feeling that this company doesn’t do anything for the customers.
Second chance was after a release of a buggy game that didn’t really respect their manifesto.
Third chance was after a horrible BLC Halloween event. Consortium chests were actually worse.
People are complaining for the past 2 weeks about broken features and bugs and what do we get? Makeover kits. Nothing that has happened since launch seem to mean anything but “let’s put stuff in TP to make money and we’ll worry about bugs later.”
So, sadly no, not on GW2.
I find it ironic that one of the content designers (who advocate against a lfg functionality in GW2) sticks a post referring to a lfg website. So you do like the idea just not in your game?
“Trinity” doesn’t exist in GW? I call BS : http://imgur.com/BrgiU
This is how it starts.. And this is part of what FotM is doing to the community. Aside from lvl splitting and gear splitting, this too. Grats!
Name and the rest of the chat hidden so mods don’t remove my post.
[Edited a bit]
(edited by Piriel.5197)
Unfortunately all they referred to was Veterans and Champions. So most likely expect that the rest of the mobs will keep having reduced drops. Ain’t that great…
To me FotM brought back the annoying times in other MMORPGs when I was spending 30min in front of a dungeon with a 4/5 group spamming “looking for cleric”. Only now you’re looking for either people your level or people willing to go down at your level (which are not many). This was everything GW2 stood against as start so there goes another promise…
If that doesn’t do it for you I’m not sure if Claw Island still counts or not. You can only access that area trough the story line and it holds 4 POIs.
You usually have to wait, there’s no official announcement. And the wait seems to be over, it seems the new items are already up.
Are Black Lion Chests dropping as often as they were before for you guys? They aren’t for me. That makes it pretty obvious to me that it’s a bug. Anet wouldn’t nerf chests.
Glad to see the topics were merged but not answered. That leaves out the part with “they’re on holiday, they didn’t see the post, they’ll answer when they do”. Talk about a slap in the face…
Forum moderator =/= developer.
Not opening BLC anymore since it’s a waste of money. Developers don’t answer on forums, they probably don’t even read them. I refuse to think that moderators and community managers are not aware of game changes.
I’m sure they’re aware. I’m also sure they can’t do anything about it, since they’re not programmers. I’m not sure what you’re wanting the person minding the board to do about the situation this weekend while the actual programmers and decision-makers are away. And I think you missed my point about the chests. I don’t feel they’re worth opening either. But other people do, and they buy keys to open those chests. If the chests have stopped dropping as often along with everything else, it’s clearly a bug, because the chests are a revenue stream for Anet and thus wouldn’t be intentionally nerfed.
I want them to put this to reset with an official response. This thread is an open question to them so people actually know what the heck is going on. No one here asked for a fix, only for an answer.
Edit: Yes I misunderstood the BLC nerf you were talking about. Indeed it seems to be less.
(edited by Piriel.5197)
Social aspect (at least since Nov 15th) is spending 30min in LA trying to get a group for fractals then playing with them. Fun isn’t it?
Edit: In all fairness it used to be better before this.

Do any of you guys still have faith in arenanet and believe they make up for their mistake like i do?
Very little, but yes I do. Why little? Let’s take just the Halloween event and chest fiasco. You think they’d learn from it and stop trying to get money with RNG. What do they do? They put the minis on RNG as well, basically trying to squeeze a bit more money from the people who actually collect those instead of skins. Why not leave them in a mini pack like they were? I’m feeling more and more that anything they do is for nothing else than money but I still hope this will change.
My advice, save up the gold. Mystic forge is a huge gamble and there’s a big chance you’ll loose all your money in there and never get anything.
Glad to see the topics were merged but not answered. That leaves out the part with “they’re on holiday, they didn’t see the post, they’ll answer when they do”. Talk about a slap in the face…
Probably in Fractals or different LA overflows spamming the chat for a group for Fractals. The expected result when you introduce a new dungeon with a chance of dropping an exotic (maybe even precursor) every 15min and nerf or bug all the lvl 80 areas.
Gaming background: UO, casual WoW, Aion, GW1. Except maybe for WoW which I didn’t play a lot since it annoyed the heck out of me, a whole lot of hours in all. Non-mmorpg games I probably started around the same time as OP (Doom, Wolfenstein, Hexen, X-COM, etc).
Do I love or hate Guildwars 2?
Neither. Decent game with great potential. There’s still a great deal of work to be done in my opinion to have it reach that potential. Right now there are things in it that are downright disappointing. We’ll see what the future holds. I’d like to believe (even tho it’s hard) that ANet is not turning a blind eye to the community.
(edited by Piriel.5197)
Still the same in the lvl 80 areas I’m afraid. No change that I noticed and I’m fairly sure we won’t see one until there’s an update. It required an update to fix the increased dyes drops so it will most likely require one now. I’m not getting my hopes up on a fix tho…
Thanks for your replies. But isn’t there something in GW2 that you enjoyed in GW1 as well?
Aside for the one-time-buy thing… I dunno… the way char look?
Seriously, GW2 is so different in many aspects it’s hard to actually find things that are similar and most of the similar things I enjoyed more in GW1. Probably one more feature present in both that I like is the reduced spell bar, since I hate MMORPGs and their customary 20 button spell bars.
Here’s mine:
1. Intelligent mobs that don’t attack you in a total suicidal manner. Right now the mobs are just HP pumped punching bags. Their AI is pretty much reduced to using different spells.
2. No zergs. Instanced explorable was probably the thing I loved most about GW1. Zergs are boring and repetitive.
3. Dungeons that required skills instead of button bashing. Dungeons in GW1 are challenging and require a certain degree of skill and knowledge about your char. Dungeons in GW2 are pretty much button bashing and getting the mob to die before you do (see 1.)
4. Spell diversity. HUGE array of spells in GW1 meant more customization for your character. Made things a lot less linear and the game a lot more fun to play.
5. Signet of capture. People might or might not agree but I loved having to work for my elites that way.
In my personal opinion, I don’t see any reason why people should stop playing the game JUST because of the ascended gear.
Some people said they quit just because of the EXISTANCE of the Ascended gear but they did not wait to see what was changed and how its going to effect the game.
Besides this is a more “skill” based game, gear helps a lot for sure, but if you know how to make a good build for your class and use different weapons depending on your own personal strategies then the quality of the gear won’t be as big a deal as people are making it out to be.Also, for those who say they quit, is there ANY other reason why you should stop playing aside from the Ascended gear? From what it sounds like Arena net is releasing this as a “test” perhaps, since they are only releasing pieces at a time. If by the time they release a full set and people in game hate it they will probably remove it, they removed several other things that gave players unfair advantages like from WVW. they noticed some exploits and eliminated them.
Give the game some time, don’t just quit, watch and see and don’t delete your progress, based on what ArenaNet has been doing you may regret deleting everything when a new and impressive update is released.
I for one am playing this game consistently and enjoying every moment of it. (except for waiting for the Darn Cattlepault.) I feel I am getting my money’s worth and then some, the addition of one new set does not bother me one bit. It would only start to bug me if they said “Hey, we are going to release 30+ sets uber rare gear that almost never drop, just like WoW. Each significantly more powerful then the next.” THEN I am concerned.
This is not just about ascended gear. It’s about a promise that was made before this game was launched that was later kitten on. You don’t need an “impressive update” to deliver as a company what you promised. This should have been done from the start. The game was not advertised as “buy this game and maybe in 1 year it will become this MMORPG changing experience”. Simple enough you need to listen to people’s opinions. Yes, there’s a lot of hatred and ranting going on on these forums but there are also valid ideas that are simply ignored.
You need to not be pigheaded about a LFG system and turn LA into Spamadan.
You pride yourself on removing the “trinity” and then you introduce fractals which splinter the community even more than the “trinity” ever did. Not only you have A LOT of different levels of fractals which makes group picking very lvl based but you also have ascended gear with a RNG drop rate. I know people who made it to fractals lvl 20 without dropping one item, while other people dropped to before they hit 15. Lvl 15 and higher is all about agony reduction and you will most likely not find a group if you don’t have ascended gear.
You need to fix stuff than needs fixing BEFORE introducing new content with it’s fair share of new bugs.
And the list can go on..
