I’d like to see a global LFG channel, rather than a group finder UI that puts me in a group with random people.

Had enough of kittens going bananas over new players who didn’t know what to do in WoW. As well as undergeared players who just wanted to be carried through for the loot, which you couldn’t kick because the “kick player X” function had a cooldown.

Granted. As far as I have experienced, GW2 has a much better community than WoW. And thank insert whatever diety you find appropriate here for that.
So perhaps it wouldn’t be as much of a problem in this game. But why risk it, right?

Please, make the tropical bird you summon with 6/6 pirate runes not aggro every mob on the map.
It litteraly flies over to mobs that I can’t even see and aggro them. Ruins any kind of hp regen between fights, and results in more deaths than I’d like.

Make it only attack mobs that are already engaded in combat with the player.

I had some improvement with these drivers, possibly.
But I also disabled Cool n’ Quiet and CPU prefetching in my BIOS, so could just be that.
My CPU was throttled back to 2.5Ghz under max load. So could just have been that wich added to my FPS.

Didn’t experience any stuttering or other problems on my GTX 650 anyways.

Yeah go the Intel, you won’t regret it. Whatever you do, do not get another Amd processor at this point in time.

I was having that feeling as well. Haven’t been hearing a lot of good things about the new AMD CPUs.

What kind of PSU should I look for? My current is only at 420W.
Would a 600W PSU be enough if I decide to go SLI/Crossfire in the future?

Since my computer finally came across a game that didn’t run smoothly on, more or less, any setting – I think it’s time to upgrade my rig.

I already bought a gfx-card (budget card, but far better than my old 9600GT 1GB)

Now I’m looking to upgrade the rest.

I’m on an AMD rig with AM3 socket, atm. Running a Athlon 64 X2 240 CPU @ 2.8Ghz.
Was thinking about maybe just upgrade to a Phenom II X4 956 Black edition, since it’s cheap and I’m poor. But realise I only have DDR2 dimms on my MoBo which I feel is kind of meh.

So the question is.
Should I just get an intel 1155 MoBo with some 1600Mhz RAMs and an i5 3750k instead?
That still isn’t very pricey, imo. I’d just have to wait until I could scrape enough money together for all the parts.

Something along the lines of:

GIGABYTE GA-Z77-D3H Z77 S-1155 ATX IVY
INTEL CORE I5 3570K 3.4GHZ 6MB S-1155 IVY
CORSAIR 4GB DDR3 1600MHZ (1X4GB) DIMM 9 XMS3 (x2)

Would that be a fair mid-range gaming rig, or is there any better parts within the same price-range that I should consider?
I could get these parts for roughly $600 (rounded up).

Scale karma rewards and money rewards to level in all zones on dynamic events.

I for one, would love to go to other zones than Orr and farm my karma. Because:

1 – Orr is overpopulated. Every event is a lag fest, more or less. (The bugged events are not overpopulated) Enemies don’t even render before they are killed, some times. (Grenth event comes to mind.)

2 – Killing risen is only so much fun. Some times I’d like to kill something else. A wolf or something, perhaps.

3 – The gloomy look of Orr is pretty depressing, tbh. I like the look of the jungle styled zones a lot more.

4 – Events get very repetitive after a couple of days of farming in the same place over and over and over again.

I agree with cnd dmg having to be fixed. At it’s current state it’s lackluster at best. And pretty much useless in big events.
I tried to like cnd-dmg thief. But if I want any loot in DE’s I have to go for direct damage in order to tag mobs.

Something needs to be done. And I think this sounds like a fairly solid theory.

You can’t post an edited youtube video of a thief owning people, and expect people to see it as proof that the thief is overpowered.
Youtube clips (in 99% of the cases (pulled the nuber out of my kitten)) are basically highlight reels.
I don’t think anyone would post a youtube vid of them getting facerolled all over the place.

If you want to create proof that the thief is overpowered, you need a controlled enviroment, where the same result is achieved regardless of the circumstances.
This is not possible, even when playing a thief. Because they also die alot in pvp.

Roll a thief, and post an un-edited/un-cut video of you playing sPvP/WvW and show us how OP thief is. Since it (according to anyone who doesn’t play it) doesn’t require any skill, it shouldn’t be hard to just melt any and all opposition.

I backstabbed a critter for 380k+ dmg. Can I have a nerf, pl0x?

I have no idea how people get these high bs crits, unless they are using special circumstances.
My highest bs crit is probably around 12k. And that was full on backstab glasscannon build with semi exotic gear. (daggers and 3/6 armor berserkers)

I have since respecced in to more survivabillity and added some valkyrie gear for the HP. And now I get about 8k BS with assa signet in full exotics.

However. The warrior was in downed state. I’m not sure if that made him take more damage or not. But if it did, then that is probably the answer.

But lately I’ve gotten this weird message in game, every now and again.

It says:
“That content is currently unavailable”

and it spams that message in red text in my chat over and over again.

It seems to happen completely at random.

Any idea what this is, and how I get rid of it?

Not all 3 of you had to stand in the AoE, right?
PW stuns 1 person, so why didn’t the other two just move away or dodge? The thief is stationary while channeling PW, so it’s not as if he can follow you, unless he wants to break the channeling.

I know. But 90% of the WoW population couldn’t figure it out. Most of them said rouge, rather than rogue.
Now it’s the same with thief. :P

I know it’s odd.
But I like the dual daggers. And thus I want to get full dps out of using them. And since dual daggers have both crit (BS, HS) and condition (DB) dmg, I’d like to max those traits out. Going for a few points in Shadow Arts to try to max out what ever surviviabillity I can get out of the last 10 points.

I just don’t want to get stuck spamming the same attack over and over again, and then stand around waiting for initiative to recharge.
Seems though, like all the current builds are amied towards just that. Either spam PW, BS/HS or DB.

But perhaps i’m just not doing it right. :P

The crit in this build would be for the backstabbing and heart seeking. And the condition for the death blossom and poison. That way I have maxed out my dps stats, trait-wise.

I don’t know.
Perhaps I’ll just try it out to see what it feels like, and see if I get roflstomped by mobs or not. :P

Averaging around 40-50 FPS with high spikes at ~75 and low spikes at ~20 FPS.

Most games don’t have quivers unfortunately. I wish more would have them though. It bothers me seeing a character pulling arrows out of their back.

In WoW you had 10 slots on each server, up to a total of 50 characters, iirc. Not that it matters. ;P

Just save up some gold and buy the gems that way, if you feel that the game devs haven’t earned some monetary support.

I’ll gladly pay real currency for additional character slots, should the need for it arise. Because I think that the game is pretty awesome, and I don’t mind a couple of micro-transactions to show my support.
After all, I gave blizzard 12€ per month for several years. And I wasn’t even very fond of WoW post vanilla.

EDIT: Not to mention I bought D3 against better judgement. /shrug

I only did AC ones, when I hit 30. It was a dreadfull experience, mostly consisting of us zerg rushing from waypoint to boss, before the last player standing died and the boss reset.
I was so not prepared for the level difficulty, being spoiled by WoWs dunegons for the past few years.
Can’t say I dislike it though. I want dungeons to be hard.

Since that run I have read up a bit about how to properly prepare for inastances. And I have now stacked a bit more vit and toughness to help with survivabillity.
Hopefully the next run won’t be as horrible as the first one. :P

I got 30 chests in my bank. Only open them if I get a key as drop or reward.
I keep hoping for some awsome boosters. I like the +50% karma gain booster alot. Use them at a point where there is a continously repeating event, and you’ll have more karma than you can spend. (Not really, but it almost feels that way) :P

In the end. I don’t spend alot of time trying to open those chests. Just hanging on to them in case they decide to put some worth while lewtz in them at some point.

As for the tonics. I destroy them most of the time. Some are quite fun though.

Personally I love the thief. DPS is good, and after stacking a lil’ toughness, I rarely die.
I’m only at 67 with it though, and I’ve played dual dagger/dual pistol condition/crit build since the start. II find it pretty amazing in pve at least. Only did a few pvp rounds, but I found my self killing things pretty darn well in there too. And killing things is a good support for your allies in a pvp scenario. :P
I tried many of the other proffesions as well (if not all). But I keep going back to the thief, always.

This made me giggle. :P

So I managed to get my FPS up to 50-75 yesterday, on my 9600GT.
I realized that if I set the gfx the highest settings, my GPU started to work at 95-100%, rather than my normal 30-50%.
But after a while playing, I noticed that the teperature went up to around 80C.
Usually it’s around 60-70C.
So I was just wondering how hot it could get, before it burns?

I realize that it’s individual from card to card. But there has to be some preference number I could follow?

I tried to adjust my fan speed, to counter the temp. But I guess my card has no chip for that, because it didn’t do anything noticable.

I was using MSI Afterburner, if that would be of interest.

The “build” part of this game, is in the trait point system.

You get 1 point each level after level 10, for a total of 70 points.
You put these in trait lines on your hero tab. And each trait line boosts 2 different stats per point, as well as offer different static boosts to your character.

Go for a trait build you think would fit your play-style. And choos your active skills (skill slots) after what benefits from your trait point allocations.

It’s a low end computer, I know. But it well enough exceeds the minimum requirements of the game.

I have around 25-30 FPS in PvE situations, except for fights where there are a lot of players on screen, casting stuff.
PvP is also okish, ~20-30 FPS, unless all of the people decide to fight in the same place.

WvW and WvWvW is completely unplayable on this setup, atm.
