I was wondering if D/Wh is still the go to for a Fresh Air build. Reason is because Ride the Lightning grants you the ferocity buff from Fresh Air when you use it(bug?).

Is an extra 250 fero while OLing Air every 2 OLs and a Fire Grab every 3 OLs(instead of a Burning Speed) make it worth taking over Lightning Orb?

This is looking at damage only. Dagger OH CCs have longer CD and I don’t know how defiance is calculated, as well as less support.

I feel this could give us some new varieties. They are just ideas that I think would make sense, though note that I don’t pvp.

Renewed Flames (Master/replacing One With Fire)
-Recharge Fire Attunement when inflicting Burning on foes.
-When inflicting burning, increase the duration of burning stacks by 0.25 seconds.

Frostbite (GM/replacing Blinding Ashes)
-Chilling a foe also inflict 2 stacks of Burning for 3 seconds. [ICD 3s]

Since air can already be reset, wouldn’t it be fair to have fire reset as it is also a damaging element? Being locked out of fire for 10 seconds(or 20 with overload <_<) when focusing on fire(d/x condi or camping fire with staff) sucks. This could bring up condition builds for pve and maybe hybrid fire/water/tempest for pvp or whatever possibility there would be.

Of course this is assuming there’s no major rework of the whole profession.

On topic of downed skills, anyone know what’s up with Steam Vent(Underwater Downed #3)? It seems I’m never able to move after using it.

Sometimes one of the higher gifts will explode early so you will have to make one diagonal jump,

When the second last gift in the middle lane explode early, you can still jump as if it was there because there’s a little invisible platform under it so you can still jump on it. I’m not sure how big it is, but I know for a fact I’ve been jumping it even if the gift is missing.

I believe you can also max distance jump to the ice.

Takes practices, but once you master the JP, it’s the best way. Personally, I think middle path is the easiest and the one that takes less thinking. You can do it without stopping assuming the platforms didn’t disappear. No need to think at the candy cane part, jump straight to the 2nd one then to the next platform.

So if you are dedicated at getting them, I suggest you start opening gifts instead of wasting time complaining about it on the forums.
Tldr: there is nothing wrong with the 10k of you really want to work for it.

What is the most efficient way of farming gifts?

I’ve only gotten about 400 yesterday through achievements and doing everything for a few hours, granted I don’t know what’s better than what, so I had no focus for those outside the achievements.

I really hope this event will last for a month..

Wasn’t it always like this? It starts at 5.00 seconds, so it goes right into 4 seconds before your eyes can see it(0.01 second). Or atleast that’s how mmos displays their duration/time stuffs usually. Eitherway, even if it wasn’t like this before, they still last 5 seconds because of the 0 second mark(4, 3, 2, 1, 0).

Staff Air #4 gives me a 9 seconds, but still ends after the 0 second mark, so that’s 10 seconds like the tooltip of the skill tells me.

I can live with the firebolts, even though that’s weird, but I think it might take a bit longer to get over the new auras. They look pretty lame.

What’s next? Meteor Storm will look like Healing Rain but red?

Today’s free item was a Bank Express and.. according to GW2Timers, there should be a Mystic Forge Stone for free .Except, free or priced, I cannot see them at all. Anyone else?

It doesn’t matter. Even if your Tempest line is empty, it is still 5 seconds.

Did you equip the spec? You need to be using the Tempest line to use it.

EDIT: Only the 3rd line can equip Elite Specs.

Is it possible to change the stats of the Ascended Infused version of Fractal Capacitor? For whatever reason, I made a soldier one back in 2012 and I’d like to change it for a Berserker or Celestial.

DO NOT INVEST IN CELESTIAL EXOTIC. Celestial stats on armor are not worth it at exotic rarity and really people only get it in Ascended rarity.

Alright, though I’m still going to stack up to like 30 Chargeds incase I ever decide to do an ascended celestial, or for whatever requires it.

I would highly suggest getting a full berserker set of Armor/weapon in Exotic quality. If you have a World v World guild to run with I’m pretty sure you can actually buy the whole armor set for pretty cheap as it would be 1 gold per piece+badges.

Oh my god. I never knew about this. I got over 4k Badges stacked up from just lurking in wvw. I just looked at the prices, it looks like that’s more than enough for everything.

As for runes, Superior Runes of the Scholar are a big favorite though I would also argue for Runes of Strength in the case where you can’t stay about 90% hp all the time.

I can actually craft myself a full set of scholars. Should I get a 7th for my aquabreather or nah?

I prefer sigil of Energy to give myself a good amount of dodges to fall back on. Sigil of force is a good choice for more damage though.

I didn’t know Attunement Swap counted as swapping weapons, I might consider while I relearn every dungeons/fractals.

The more pro elementalist will carry all weapons, and then swap through them in the midst of might stacking to buff up the whole party.

I got the habit of carrying every single weapon real quick back then with my mesmer.

To might stack, just use a blast finisher in a fire field. Arcane Brilliance, Arcane Wave, “Aftershock!”, etc. You can still stack might with scepter/x and dagger/x.

Oh, but I’m aware of how combos works. Though, thanks for making me notice that Aftershock is a Finisher, I somehow never noticed. Those skills are actually what I use in Open World along Glyph of Storm.

I returned from 3 years about 2 months ago and leveled my elementalist. Then went back to my mesmer and decided to go back to elem after a few days of HoT. However, I have not done any dungeons or fractals since I came back. My elementalist has been poorly geared and I’m looking to gear it up in order to maybe get back into these contents. I know I should be looking for a guild, which I will probably do in some days, but I figured I’d ask here first because my main concerns are about the class itself.

What do people expect from an elementalist? I’ve read stuffs about people complaining that the elementalist doesn’t provide might, which lead me to the next question: Are we always expected to roll D/D, D/F or S/F with LH for dungeons and fractals?

People are also asking for berserker gears left and right, but does this also apply to elementalists if we’re just there to stack might?

Ever since I learned about Celestial gears being time gated, I’ve been working on stacking up Charged Quartz in hope to make myself an Exotic Celestial set(17/25, got Tempest Shoulders), but should I really get that? Elementalists seems to be doing a little bit of everything, so to me, Celestial gears sounds great.

As of right now, I’m geared with:
-Exotic Beserker Mask from Zhaitan’s quest
-Rare Berserker Shoulder, Chest, Gloves, Leggings and Boots
-Divinity Runes because cheap

-Exotic Berserker Staff, Rare/Masterwork Berserker Daggers, Exotic Berserker Scepter(from a drop), Fine Berserker Focus and Exotic Celestial Warhorn.
-Major Sigil of Force and Superior Sigil of Accuracy on everything

-Rare Berserker Backpack
-Exotic Celestial Earrings x2(Forgotten Seal and Karka Shell from 2012)
-Exotic Celestial Amulet(drop from Halloween)
-Ascended Offensive Berserker Ring and whatever Vine of the Pale Tree stats are(got these and a few more rings from Fractals back in 2012)

I know at some point I will have both set, but I’m not rich, so I’m looking for tips on what I should do as the first step for my gears. Superior Runes of Strength and Superior Sigil of Force are expensive, so I don’t want to throw them into a set I wouldn’t use them with. My current gears as been fine for anything I’ve done in HoT, so I guess I’d be asking for dungeons and fractals.

Please do. Just going through LW2 a second time left a taste of how it’s going to feel as I progress through my achievements. I don’t understand why you can only skip a few of them but not the others.

This just happened to me.

I don’t know what happened, but as I left “The Artesian Waters” in Cursed Shore, while exploring with my Elementalist and trying out Warhorn skills, I noticed my Eye of the Storm was on >70 seconds cooldown. This has only happened once so far, that I’ve noticed anyway.

EDIT: Ok nvm that, apparently I didn’t know that if you use Utilities underwater, it puts the ground utilities of the same slot on cd. For my defense, I’ve always hated water.

I’m able to log on now. I tried 2 of my characters, won’t bother trying others since I only really play those 2 as of right now.

EDIT: Played a bit on my elementalist, then teleported to an instance(was exploring in SoD; Fort Trinity), and now I’m back at being stuck at loading screens.

GW2 might actually become my favorite mmo(not to mention the name) with this new setting. I never enjoyed having a hard time selecting a specific target back then(2012, came back a month ago), and I’m loving this, feels like I’m playing my favorite mmo now! It’s probably going to take a little bit to adjust to, but really, great job adding this.

You said that the bosses in Honor of the Waves were not changed. I have been running that dungeon for quite some time, and to my knowledge, Hotw Path 1 Aldus Stormbringer does not spawn adds previously.

However, after the 14/12 patch, the encounter is spawning adds frequently during the fight, like 2-3 at a time. The adds are not veteran, they are silver grade. These adds made the boss encounter much harder. I did this Path 1 three times, and all three times have adds spawning.

May I know if this is really inteded or not?

He did spawn adds previously. There was a bug where you can interrupt his speech by killing every mobs before he finishes it.

Happen with any teleports. Last time it happened, a few days ago, it was with Sword #3. I got stuck one of those things with fire on it in cliffside and I was unable to blink out, on top of my group wiping while I was trying to get out. So I was forced to leave the group and let them 4man, since apparently, /stuck isn’t working at all(wiki says it may puts you in a fractal solo, but it doesn’t even do anything)

I believe my friend got a non-infused ascended ring on 24 the night after the patch.

I think the main thing about Signet of Inspiration is the disappointment of our “reliable swiftness” promised by Jon. That’s not reliable at all. Is this only the beginning of our reliable swiftness or were we trolled? Future will tell..

I never complained about our Swiftness sources, but when I’m promised something more reliable, I’m expecting something more reliable.

Not a fan of Signet of Illusions, but it has its use I guess. Did they fix the illusion healt bonus to be granted exactly when they are up? or there is still a down time?

That’s true. MI may be easier to use most of the times, but I still prefer Veil. Personal preference I guess. The only reason I don’t use Veil is because it is an Utility.

I’ve spent 2850 to get my fractal back shiny, bought 4 Common, 1 Rare and 1 Exotic bag and I’m sitting with over 1k fractal relics now. It keeps going up everyday and at this rate, I will have all my slots filled because there’s nothing I can buy with them. Currently, past 4k fractal relics, there is not a single use for them.

In regular dungeons, you have the ability to buy Rares and Exotics and salvage them. I know that Fractals of the Mists is still new and that more will come, but here’s a few suggestions:

I like Mimic, though I only use it in WvW.

iWarden is decent, though being stationary is annoying, but its great damage and projectile reflection/absorption makes me forget that. If it dies within 2s, then you probably used it at the wrong moment. Especially now with 0.25s delay instead of 1s. I love him so much now.

But yeah, I agree, our utilities are redundant.

@Fay: I actually prefer Veil over Mass Invisibility.

@Nuka: Our elites are TW and Moa. MI isn’t worth the elite slot, but I guess it’s nice for extra stealthing.

I’m not sure if I understood the wording correctly, but If I’m right and I’ve reworded differently based on my understanding:

1. Vials of Condensed Mists Essence no longer drop starting at scale 11.
2. Globs of Coagulated Mists Essence no longer drop starting at scale 21.

I’m already at level 31 but missing 3 vials to infuse an ascended ring. I’ve enough globs and a Shard for the infused ring recipe. Now, i’m forced to redo content level 1-9 or 1-10 if I understood the wording correctly earlier. So far I’ve done over 7 full tier 1 runs without a vial dropped, the drop rate is still absurdly low. I hope it’s not bugged with Christmas present boxes as part of the loot table for the period of time.

I’d much appreciate if Robert or someone else can confirm the loot table range for Vial of condensed mists.

Yeah, what’s up with this? Why did you guys remove Vials and Globs drops above their corresponding scales? Vials and Globs should be dropping at any time too. It doesn’t make sense to only make Vials drops from 1-10 and Globs from 11-20 and then ask for both of them to infuse rings.

Is this an attempt to force us to group with people that are stuck at lower scale? I could understand, but the current drop rates on both are lame. Either increase greatly the drop on Vials and Globs or change the recipe.

I don’t need any infused rings anymore as 25 resist is enough at 30, but how it is atm is stupid, for a lack of better word.

Atleast they fixed pick up objects. Hopefully clone on dodge is coming soon.

I suicided nude in dredge fractal, so we could res faster. I re-equiped myself while being dead.

When I respawn, the runes wasn’t applied at all. I noticed this while in Aquatic fractal. At first, I thought it was a bug underwater. Then, while in Cliffside Fractal, I remembered about reequiping myself while being dead. I removed everything and equiped again, it was fixed.

I think the reason they added the 30s CD was so you can’t always have the entry portal up.

I’ve heard it gives an additional downed penalty when it expires. Is it true?

However, with the buff came Retaliation, and that gives it a great support role for melee fighters.

Explain? Before it was 3s retaliation and 9s confusion. Now it’s 3s retaliation and 3s of confusion *3.

Some people dislike the new confusion on it, I’d like it, if I was cond build that is.

As for Prestige, seems Leap at first use and Blast after the channeling.

Is everyone experiencing this using the dodge roll keybind, as opposed to double-tapping a movement key? We’re aware of a bug related to using the keybind, but if you’re not using that to dodge, it could be a separate bug.

There’s a conflict with auto attacking with a skill that has a chain and dodging. Your auto attack(usually the cast time for the third attack) cancels your dodge.

I asked a friend, as I use double tap to dodge, he uses the dodge key and it glitch too.

Always been like this as far as I know. The thing is, when you kill all the adds before his speech ends, the spawns glitches and you can fight him alone.
