being in a party with everyone in the same zone/area gives you at bonus to your magic find stat, atleast this is what the offical guide said anyhow, maybe they got rid of it, maybe not hard to test.
also Magic Find doesnt affect chests so using Omnom in TA for chest loot is pointless and a waste of money.
A waste of money? A run shouldn’t take more than 30mins. There’s atleast 2 bosses that drop 10s each, that’s 8s if you kill both and omnom bars are what? 3s? 5s profit. But yeah, you don’t use bars for chests.
About 3, Spider, Kholer and Troll all drop 10s. There is 2 gold bosses, both dropping 5s each. In addition to last boss, 15s. 55s without omnom bar, 77 with +26s for completion. 1g per path. +drops
About 4, or you can buy rares(cof/coe/hotw/arah) and try for ectos too.
If anyone else would like me to show them the PoI’s as well, hit me up in game sometime.
Yes, they are both bugged, but I know how to reach them.
I remember seeing a PoI pop up at the end, on the teleporter, when I did CoE 2 for the first time, but it doesn’t show as obtained on the map. I guess I can take that offer up for both 1 and 2’s pois whenever you’re not busy.
I do! The first time I came across this item I was like Woot. Then it gave only 2 Silver+. :\ Change the name kitten
The first time I came across this item, it gave me a whooping 3 copper. That was before they implemented those bags, now it gives between 2 and 4 silvers.
The stealth can have its uses I guess, but confusion is usually overall unreliable in PvE, especially a 3s one, making iMage the worst phantasm in PvE.
Not just melee. I believe any weapon with a combo chain. Mesmer Scepter #1 glitch like that. I got used to manually attack with Sword, but I don’t want to do it with Scepter, because it’s single target and I usually rely on ranged weapons when I’m lazy, activating and desactivating auto attack everytime I switch to staff or GS is annoying.
TA drops a recipe for a ring, which can be sold for 25g for only 200 tokens. :/
Depends how you see it. If anything, you can’t speed farm like everyone else, but it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the game while farming for one.
I wish troll spawned more often, more golds!
As they said above, troll is, sadly, pretty random.
The link to your build would not load properly. I tried to salvage the URL, but your Trait layout was incomplete, so I can’t assume that what loaded on my screen was even partially your build.
That was weird. Now?

I never noticed they were unique.. I do have 4 uncommon, 1 rare and 1 exotic.. Oh well, if they ever become unique for real, 450 tokens isn’t a big lost to me.
It just happen to me for the first time within 1300 hours of gameplay. It randomly started during a boss fight in fractal. I had to turn off my sound if I wanted to keep playing, especially because I had an headache at the sametime, and this sound doesn’t do any good with an headache…
1. Imo, PvE wise, Sword is the strongest weapon for mesmer(and you can wear an off-hand to make it even better!). The strong thing about GS is that #1 isn’t a projectile, yet is still ranged, however its damage is low. I only use GS for certain bosses where I can’t use scepter(perma reflect`Jades in Solid Ocean Fractal) or other bosses where I know I can’t melee.
2. Clones are not meant to do damages. Sure, damages will goes up a little bit as you level up, but they are shatter munitions. Phantasms on the other end does a lot of damage.
3. Ether Feast for the most of the times. If you have Harmonious Mantra(Grandmaster Major Trait from Domination), then you can use Mantra of Recovery instead of Ether Feast. Mirror has its uses, but meh.
4. All about preferences. I personally can’t get rid of Blink from my bar.
5. I have no idea what’s a buff class, but it sounds like priests/clerics from other games I’ve played, since they could buff their allies granting them different positive status.
I wouldn’t recommend going all-out on Boon Duration %, as your damage will be near nothing and mesmers are pretty limited in the boons we can give. You can, however, use Signet of Inspiration, but as you play mesmer more, I think you will prefer to use something else. One thing I’m not sure is if Boon Duration % is applied to SoI when used actively.

iWarden has never been able to move. Nothing changed last patch about him.
Illusions has low HP.. iWarden absorb/reflect projectiles, but its weakness is that he die to melee attacks easily and that he can’t move.
Temporal Curtain does reflect. The problem is the wall is pretty low, so not everything will be reflected.
1. The patch cripples his effectiveness because 0.5-1 sec is long enough for even a Crippled target to “dodge” the attack. I don’t know whether or not you’ve used the Focus, but before the patch it would be possible to summon the Phantasm on a non-stationary target and cause X amount of damage where X>0.
3. Before the patch, I was able to use Temporal Curtain to reflect those rocks that giant Wurms throw. Now, I can’t even block arrows from a Grawl or Son of Svanir.
Has anyone noticed any sort of change with this mechanic?
Yes, I’ve been using focus. This is my build below.
(For most pve, otherwise I swap a few things)

I haven’t noticed any change other than maybe a slightly longer delay to attack.
Do you have Fury trait? I heard that trait was bypassing a change that was made in BWE and now the change is applied to the trait, which might be why you don’t see iWarden immediatly attack anymore.

We’ve actually been aware of this issue previously, but thank you very much for posting it. If you would rather not deal with trolls blasting you in the future for helping devs, please feel free to PM me these things and I will look into them.
Perfection, your post is neither helpful nor constructive. We’re aware of bugs and issues in the game, and we’re fixing them as fast as we can. Just because there’s a forum post about something doesn’t mean we drop everything to fix it. Every bug is given a priority, and it gets put in line with all the other bugs of that priority.
Are you aware that with a mesmer(blink +portal), you can do the last boss from path 1 in path 3(maybe even in 2, but I’ve never done 2 because of exploits :/)?
arcane thievery is known to be bugged iirc
How so?
Only bug about it that I know is Far-Reaching Manipulations trait reducing its base CD by 5s instead of increasing range to 1200(tooltip says 1200, but is really 900).
I use scepter only because it’s my only 1handed ranged option and that I want a second off-hand. I really like #2, but #1 is quite slow on 3rd hit(even the clone annoys me sometimes) and #3 channeling just annoys me as well being easy to dodge.
I’m hoping they either tweak it a bit or add more weapons(pistol MH?).
This is the most OP skill in GW2. A mesmer could only land this and get a free win.
Way to skip the entire contents of the thread, all the meaningful discussion, the recent patch notes AND revive a long dead thread.
You sir are clearly a necromancer… a necromancer of dead topics and flogged horses :p
Whats that? We are bring back this thread? Ok.
Moa is hilarious, I use it all the time because I know people hate it. Half the time I don’t bother to chase them since they gave it that gtfo move. It is however, a horribly ineffective move compared to time warp. Even without teammates ten seconds of quickness > ten seconds laughing at one enemy.
Any place I can see the new skills of moa? Which hotkey is the “gtfo move”?
I’d like a 20-slot invisible bag, but oh well. Free stuffs are free, I’m not going to complain.
it doesnt share cd with the staff skill chaos storm. the fall damage part is always active.
I didn’t meant like, but the second part of your reply answer me. Thanks.
I’ve always been aware that the chaos storm had a cd, but is the fall damage a part of the chaos storm or is it always in effect? I haven’t used this trait much and I’m asking incase, even though the trait does not seem to imply being part of the chaos storm.
My friend is interessed in the build of the thief, if it’s possible.
Nice job getting this high.
He always do his projectile pulls before his light aoe. That’s when you know you will be dodging soon.
Samething happens when you feedback Breeders in AC when they’re vomiting their babies.
Celerity and CD-20% skills stack for all weapon skills except sword/3. Sword/3 will reduce by 20% for either Celerity or Sword-20%, but not both. In all cases, the tool-tip will only show the 20% reduction.
If you watch the CD timer after summons, though, you can easily see that the full 40% from both traits is in effect.
Sword #4 and I believe Scepter #2 are only reduced once too. Celebrity doesn’t work on these.
That’s because they are not strictly illusion summoning spells. They are a block, with a side effect.
As they are labeled as Clone, one would expect them to be reduced with Celebrity. Oh well. :/

Urban Battlefield/Ascalon Fractal: Is there no more NPC Charr helping you now? or are we just bugged?
I believe you’re meant to be able to survive the hit to absorb it. If you could absorb hits that you can’t withstand, that’d be kinda unbalanced.
If you didn’t know, after absorbing the projectile, you will be blocking melee attacks and reflecting projectiles for the rest of the channel.
I don’t think I’ve had any issue with Mimic. There’s always something coming out when I use Echo. I’ve only been using Mimic in WvW and I don’t stay long when I go there.
I noticed that aswell when I was trying a confusion build a few weeks ago. 10 stacks of confusion would do like 4k damage per hit on ground, but only like 1.2k underwater.
(forgot exact numbers, but there is a huge difference)
They simply changed the description to be more appropriate. The skill is still the same if you didn’t notice…
I do cof 1&2 and hotw 1 each day and salavage the rares I buy with tokens, also at the very least get the rich ori node in lost shore
There’s was still a way to do 3 path in 1 hotw, incase you didn’t know.
(I didn’t do hotw since last patch though, may be fixed, I’d need to check later today if my guild want to run hotw)
Also, I have no idea how I make my money, but apparently 2 to 5 dungeons a day +2 fractal daily and I made like 15g within 2 days.. I remember spending like 15g on 6 runes 2 days ago, but I’m somehow back to 15g.
Phantasmal Haste reduce the CD on the phantasm’s ability, not the skill that summons it. Meaning that your phantasms will attack more often, if they stay alive.
I’ve never seen anyone been 1 shotted by tentacles. They do like 5-7k damage, nowhere near a 1 shot.
As for the reflecting crystals, everytime you kill a tentacle, 1 will spawn. Additionally, several Jades will spawn(limited amount), those drops one each on kill too. You don’t just stand there waiting for a crystal to appear.
Just done it on 30. We found out that he use his flash agony aoe(phase 2; 75-50% HP) right after his pull. Things became a lot easier afterward. We still pulled him to the side we used last night.
The seal isn’t healing for us Ansultares.
In the third path of Ascalon Catacombs, if you are a mesmer that has traited to create a clone whenever you dodge, it simply doesn’t happen. This is post 3rd of December patch, don’t know about before.
Didn’t work before either. If you’re transformed into anything, no clones.
I used to hate Orr, but then they released Southsun Cove. Now I only dislike Orr and hate Southsun Cove.
This has to be one of my favorite dungeon, Arah Story. I loved every bit of it when I did it today. Good job devs!
…at the exception of the random crash at Mouth of Zaitan. For some reason, after playing 1.2k hours, it is the first time I ever lagged(at Mouth of Zaitan). Not only that, but my screen froze(I could still hear what was happening) 6 times while on the second ship(I had to alt+f4 each time). That’s not all though, it had to end by crashing me when I click the little door to get me out of the instance.
But yeah, good job on Arah Story. Anyone else had a lot of issues?
(edited by Qelris.6901)
Sword #3 is not the only skill that is only reduced by 20% instead of 40%. Sword #4 too.
As for iWarden, yes, it hits 12 times.
Do you enjoy mesmer? If you do, do not reroll.
Is this is relation to blind/block/whatever negating phantasms? This change annoys me a lot too, but I wouldn’t make another profession/character unless it was for the race achievements I haven’t got yet,
I have always disliked GS, but I still use it for bosses in PvE since it has a lot more dps than Staff in my build.
We had a hard time doing it on 29 yesterday, we don’t even want to imagine on tier 4 now that we reached 30.
Phase 2 was a pain, in addition to mobs not despawning inbetween each phase. If you try to clean them before hitting the seal, they will just respawn. What we did is lure him away from them, to the side(the area north of the seal), so we only have to deal with one thing at a time. Unlike left and right arm seals, mobs do not heal the final seal.
The light is dodgable, he charges it, about 1.5s cast time I believe and has a range of like 900 to 1200. The main problem is that he cast it like every 5s..
Please, tell me that the mobs not spawning when he drops the hammer is not the only glitch.
Phantasmal Healing range is around 180.

I use Moa in WvW on thieves mostly. Nothing better than disabling a thief from stealthing or lolteleporting to the other side of the map for 10s. Also fun to watch a thief use dagger storm and jump in a raid then use moa(or any boon removal).
On a side note, what are the new skills?
I melee in Snowblind, Aquatic and Solid Ocean fractal easily.
Solid Ocean: Tentacles has 2 attacks that cycle, both having 2 different warnings. First is a swing that knockbacks anyway around. A dodge is required for this, or anything kind of block. Its second attack is a slap from above, which doesn’t require a dodge, you can just move to the side.
As for the Jades, if you have nothing that can hit them, just don’t. Keep in mind that ground AoE works.
Aquatic: Nothing hits hard here, except the agony if you have no resist. We pull him to electric cages and tank him even under his lightning whirlwind, in addition to the cages damaging us.
Snowblind: Once again, nothing hard here. When he breath targetting you, dodge behind and wait a few seconds, or switch to ranged. Don’t run around him and make him hit your allies near him…
I didn’t try meleeing The Mossman since low level fractals, but my friends melee him, except when he morph into a werewolf, then everyone kite.
As for Underground Facility bosses, yeah. Kiting is the way to go, since you must always keep them burned.
Edit: Forgot about Urban Battlefield. He charges his Fire Agony AoE just like Kholer. Due to the number of Ally NPC helping you, it can be missed easy. Also, when he use a fiery gs around 20% HP, you pretty much need to kite.
(edited by Qelris.6901)
It’s in FotM only as far as the news seems to say.
“In the upcoming Fractals of the Mists dungeon, we’ll introduce a new monster condition called Agony.”
I’m excited about everything coming. Can’t wait to get the new gears, see the professions changes and the new dungeon.
I don’t have any worst for story. They were all fun to do.
My worst experience with explorables would be Arah 2.
Only paths I haven’t run are SE 2 and Arah 4.
