you need to use all the elements or else your basically giving up 3/4 your abilities. your air CD’s are all way longer than a normal classes CD because of the fact you have 4 skill bars.
Take assassin or zerker gear , and tempest with air overload , swap to fire drop a crit and take fresh air trait , so you can swap back to air right away. Probably the best way to keep air up and still do some damage with overload air.

we should be able to summon them into our enemies hands and they are forced to use it for 30 sec ! really sad but true , one of our whole utility lines would have people crying for nerf if we could force it upon them lol
the #3 ability should be summon a tornado at your location for X seconds that knocks enemies away =P
I like mistform downstate with the fire trait that procs lava font on death , if you use it after so long being downed , you can create a second lava font with it , that has rallied me in 1 v 1 downed state fights before lol
Yeah , I figured water would still be more taken because of the regen , cantrip CD , and cleansing water trait. But if you wanted something more like fire/air/X , either arcane or a specialization , it would help somewhat to have some form of clear without the heals.
Even air/fire with aura’s grant fury would be a little help without using arcane to proc fury all over the place.
yeah . But arcane/water/fire doesn’t seem like something people would want to do. They lose out on earth , air or a specialization trait line. With all the condi bombs flying around , it doesn’t even seem as OP as it would have years ago lol
What do you guys think if we had a trait that was : remove a condition when you apply fury to yourself ? Put it in the fire line somewhere. Maybe where one with fire or power overwhelming is.
This will maybe open up some other options to play Fire/Arcane/X type builds. Since you would lose a condi whenever you swap attunments and also you could trait fire to blast fire field to remove a condi.
Was just trying to think of something that wouldn’t really buff the usual meta builds but open up a new way to remove condi outside water.

The more I think about it , they could be owned by 1 person with multiple accounts , who uses the same bot program for all of them. So you may get 1 of them in your party often and not realize it. Its only very very obvious when 3 of them randomly all get qued together in the same match, because they all share the same pathing. Otherwise you would just assume its some random noob who runs straight for home with your thief.
It wasn’t a joke thread , when you see it in game it will be very obvious to you. They will move stacked on top of each other. Unless we have some strange form of pvp performance art choreography going on ,they are bots.
I can confirm having 3 people who did not speak on my team , our thief (only other real player) , went home at the start , all 3 of the bots followed her. they capped home , then all moved together , exactly together from one place to another. all 3 of their icons on the mini map were always exactly on top of each other… they did fight , and if one died it always ran back to the others. we won…amazing enough. but yeah it is really fishy how 3 separate entities always moved completely in unison.
the difference between zerker amulet with 0 Healing power and Magic with 1200 healing power is 1,436 hps…Did it even get buffed at all ??
I am in pvp , it is just such a small buff you wouldn’t even notice it , like 200 hps on a 20 sec CD with menders amulet lol…
I am almost certain the heal number on the tool tip is still the same as it was yesterday.
mine heals for 3.89k , 60% more should be higher than that.

Is the way it works now you can only party up and que with 1 other person ? I see people telling people to make a team but I though we could only que with 1 person. When/where can I make a 5 man team. I feel like we are almost forced to take cookie cutter builds because you need to play whatever works with any randoms you get thrown together with. There is no play something different and weird that works well with your own teams setup.
Healbot ele requires your teammates to actually know what they are doing. Some guy posted about this before but if your team doesn’t dodge the big attacks , or save their cleanses for the condi bombs , and decides to jump into bad fights , all the healing in the world ele can provide isn’t gonna matter. I think if you have a team you know you can rely on than healbot ele is good , but for pug matches it is really just not fun to play.
Honestly I did the same thing , I was just trying to get back to at least 50/50 because I was down so far , then I just thought screw it who really cares I just wanna play. Now I’m actually up 7 wins vs losses and am much happier getting there =)
Air #2 staff should hit like Lich AA , it cant be spammed , its highly obvious , it should at least hit that hard. I hit a thief for almost 10k on my necro in pvp with lich , without the chill of death proc , would be nice to have something similar for ele. Though I do like the fact that air AA actually tracks them in stealth if you hit anyone near them , I have downed a few thief by shooting a rangers pet and letting the bounce find the thief lol.
Does anyone else think it is too low ? I was playing the other night in full glass zerk build and sometimes I was free casting on an enemy and honestly it was like shooting a BB gun at a train. I <3 staff and admit it can hurt if you get those lucky moments when people dont move at all , but I think if any zerk is just allowed to free smack someone for 20 sec , that someone should probably be down or low at least , some of these guys were not even below 75%. I dont think the enemy really fears staff ele as much as they see a free 5 points for the team and would want to just get you out of the way. you get focused first but not because like necro your a threat , your just so easy to take down , why not.
I would like to see staff air 2 hit like it should. With its huge tell and massive wind up.
If people are gonna just focus us first at least make it for a good reason =)
Yes ! Please just let us choose , I admit sometimes I might want to turn them off , but usually when I do that , I just set the game to best performance and let it all look like crap. They were very pretty and also very easy to see when an enemy had one up as well.
I would be interested to know how the old design functioned , when Ele had mana as a resource. I wonder if that is where some of the old class descriptions people like to bring up came from, If it worked like initiative from thf , or what. They had a much longer lock out of an element when swapping originally as well. If it worked that way , I could see an ele swapping to water and becoming a real healer while in water , and would be scared to death of one that was in fire. I think the old Staff lighting #2 used to hit like a truck as well , thats why it has its own unique animation , to let people know they better gtfo the way.

I haven’t played my tempest in ages, and been slowly acquiring viper’s armour.I’m definitely gonna try it out in hotjoin. Those buffs to Drake’s Breath, Burning Speed, Impale and Signet of Fire are very encouraging. Might be time to take Fire/Water/Arcane and go to town, we’ll see.
Exactly what I was thinking, Fire is now viable in PvP. Ele still needs sustain though so idk if we can really say no to Tempest just yet.
I wouldn’t be so sure about condi ele yet…and if look at changes it almost feels like it’s not worth at all to use tempest in any offensive build (in pvp)
I was thinking of using Overload Fire/Wildfire to maintain burning, and Overload Earth/Dust Storm for more bleeds. Not sure if it’ll actually work, we’ll see. The other option is to go Earth instead of Tempest in order to be able to spam Signet of Fire/Earth more often; would probably use Focus in that case.
Good idea. Blinding Ashes adds a good soft CC and helps tremendously with survivability if you go Earth over Tempest.
blinding ashes also adds another nice cover condi for burning, I also liked to use the 50% chance on normal hit to add vuln for 10 sec , with 2 sec icd. makes getting the burns off harder.
it also , at least on the npcs in the mist , ignores its 5 sec ICD while the target is in down state
. Dagger fire skill 1 will stack 2 burning stacks per projectile , so 6 stacks every AA lol, I could only get him to 24 stacks before he died tho.

if your spamming the 4 key to heal yourself and you get rezzed , it will make you use burning retreat because its the same key and it is qued when you stand
maybe we should all pick a time and ask people we know to flood the map and create an overflow. the map will never reset itself because of all the wood farmers , thats the only thing I can think of

I guess it’s the fact firegrab is AE damage as well that makes them afraid to buff it. Maybe use cleansing fire right before since it is instant and will burn everyone near you. If you trait for it you will even get some extra might stacks from it too ^^ Sadly they are both almost the same CD too
what would be nice is if they added a little targeting option like ground targets that showed a green cone coming out of you so people actually knew what the hit box was. then after using it a few times they could probably turn on fast cast option again and forget about it because they would actually know the dimensions of the spell.

maybe they will do something weird like we still have the ability to change element , but we can only do it out of combat or every 180 sec , but let us weapon swap. who knows

I dunno , I downloaded the new Nvidia driver and I started having massive lag spikes right after. let it go on for a little while but sometimes they were really bad where I thought I had DCd but didnt mid match. rolled back driver and it seemed to help

Actually you can see the camp or at least the main hut where the mysterious figure is if you stand out on the edge of the ship wreckage up top where the skill point is in dry top. If you look in the direction of the waypoint up on the cliffs above it you can see the hut pretty well.
I just went here. I love this , It is one of the most fun jump puzzles I have done to get there, and there is no reward or achievement points for doing it , just fun to say " I did it" and take a few screenies. There is a sort of rock stair case to the side of the centaur camp , if you stand on top of one of the cantaur huts and walk along the fence that sticks out of it , you can actually rifle blast yourself to the other side of this chasm and start to make your way up the giant stone stairs , I can make it almost to the top , where there are some large stone pillar lookin things but one jump spot seems to be stopping me. maybe someone else who is good at this stuff can make it. good fun ty for posting it. I think it was probably something ment for the release that either got cut or didn’t have time to complete. The way there sure seems like an intended jump puzzle. Its perfectly made to be found.
Staff has some ways of being ok with condi. If you sit in earth , and use stuff like fire signet and + vuln on signet use trait , spamming weakness with earth auto , it makes clearing the burning pretty hard. I think in Spvp I used settlers amulet and played more defensive attrition condi that could heal and diamond skin. not my personal style , but it could work if your dead set on it.
