2 hits, 19k BS. What’s abnormal for you?
“Usual thieves doesn’t deal all that damage”. Sometimes I got Empower (by Guardian), and my BS increased a lot damage. Can be this.

My bad. But, with right build and some might (or invu in enemy), you can do 10k+ in BS (vs toughnessless).

That is what is happening. Nobody knows anything about Thief, how fragile is this class (with the lowest base hp game). Then go to WvW with your pro char lvl 30 (full green), dies for a Thief Glass Cannon (full exotic berserker), and come to forum complaining about how Thief is OP. We haven’t any other way to finish """"""safe""""" plp (only in stheal), and plp still complain about it, OMG! Play with a Thief and later come here give us your feedback.

To tell you what I mean by extreme damage. My level 35 Engineer is toughness/vitality spec’d all the way. I run around with close to 3k armor. I have 29k health. A thief took me down not 20 minutes ago in under a second.

Sorry to argue, but this is not possible anymore, not by single-roaming Thief.
Maybe if he has a 25 stacks of might, fully stacked power sigil and crit food, you were vulnerability-stacked and he had a ton of luck critting avery ability used, then he could burst you down. But I kinda doubt that this ever happened so far….

I don’t have to convince you. It happened, as simple as that. Either it’s still possible or there is an exploit out there atm making it possible. No vulnerability involved and he had a few stacks of might but nowhere near 25 stacks.

You are lvl 35, omg. You’re wasting your time here, go back to PvE, and stop QQ. You haven’t no reason to complaining about nothing.

Issues with the thief class

- perma evade underwater
- the restealth debuff neededs to be longer (+2 more seconds)
- Heartseeker covers too much ground
- Heartseeker should do less damage after multiple uses
- The damage on steal is too high
- Auto attack damage is too high on dagger and shortbow (why does a thief do more damage than a ranger with a shortbow if they are both specced for damage?)
- Quickness should be removed from the thief class

  • Stomp unstealth the thief*

The thief is all reward with little risk. The stealth mechanic makes good players nearly impossible to hit so the thief, unlike other classes, can spec pure damage and safe.

It should be no surprise that the two classes most complained about in PvP are the two classes that can shake targeting. When considering the damage on a class the ability of their opponent to do damage back should be considered. Given that stealth is so easy to achieve in this game the damage available to the thief reflect that fact (i.e. high defense = lower damage).

…and delete Thief (with Ranger). Bad players like you should not be entitled to give opinion. Do you thought for a while before writing this? Do you played with Thief? Not? So shut up.

Any time you down someone and you have 50% health remaining and cannot stomp them in time before you are downed yourself – yeah… something is wrong.

If they can take 50% of your hp while downed before you can stomp, that tells me you are playing a glass cannon. Thats just part of the risk of playing a glass cannon. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. I suggest using a utility to secure a stomp, like mist form, plague form, elixir s, stealth, or even quickness.
This is just my opinion, but I feel the downed state has worked pretty well since they reduced the downstate hp.

I don’t think I need to do a write up. The screenshot pretty much sums up the thief class and how OP they are:

So.. ? What’s prove? Nothing. Where SS to see the buffs in the Thief?
In SPvP, my team stack might, and I can do 10k+ BS easy in players with that armor or more.

I don’t think gear is a super big problem right now but I would prefer this. Make the fights more about skill and would let us be more free to try new builds as well.

You do AC at level 35. If you do every day, when you hit 80, you already have enough tokens to get 1~2 sets. Did not like the stats? Has other: 45, 55, 65, 75, as easy as the 35.
And now? Hited 80, and now? This game needs mightily pvp gear, a gear that you farm ONLY after 80, in WVW, would be perfect.

Inspect is the worst Idea. Then you will have people saying… no your spec isn’t right and your gear isn’t right. Elitist are already bad enough with their wow mentality that Level and gear is greater than skill and their speeds runs are sad. Then you want to add a feature that intensify’s this even more?

And when others peoples join in rooms? Always, ALWAYS, it happens. This is very annoying. And always cause disturb, even asking to go out with education. Honestly, duel is a nice system (clone or not, I don’t care), mainly in dungeons (waiting friends hehe).

How I said before, inspect could choose between wanting or not to show your gear.

Than get 18 of your guildies and go and sign up. My guild does this everyday and has no problems either be it with 4 players or 16 we are usually in there for a good 45 minutes before anyone joins our lobby.

I “disagree” about inspect. You could have a choice between wanting to show or not your gear.
Now, duel, have to implement quickly as possible. Tired of entering empty rooms with friends to test different things, and stupids entering the room (I dunno why these plp join in room 2/16, srsly), for disturbing and talking **. So annoying.

I don’t know if someone already made this suggestion. I’ll just give a little feedback on some things in the game (in my vision).

Firstly: downed state. Okay, downed state is part of the game mechanics, and that will not change. What breaks the game is not the downed state, but their skills. The damage of skills are high, and all have more of one defense mechanism, making sometimes take a long time to finalize. One suggestion is to put all professions with the same skills: #1 damage (average), #2 (pop when downed, but have long cd), # 3 heal. Doing this, nobody will complaining about downed state, and PVE will work as well with the same effect. It is a simple and effective solution.

Secondly, please, I beg you, when someone is finalized, only ONE back (rally to who does more damage, or first downed, w/e), and NOT all. That mechanism tt’s pathetic in WvW for all. Believe, wars will be better and more balanced.

About the events I don’t need say much. I hope you, ANet, have understood how to do an event. And I hope you reward those who, like me, did the events and took
disconnect at the end and did not receive any rewards.

Finally, about bugs in the game. Stop nerf/buff professions. What we need now is fix the bugs to see how our professions will react. How can you nerf/buff a profession with bugs, if not even know the full potential of it?

…and remember: communication is the key to any game.

Clearly not. Some warrior asked me how much damage I crit and I proudly told him 2k and sometimes 3k thinking I was doing pretty well. He then told me that my damage was horrible and compared his warrior abilities to mine.

Basically warrior abilities do 3-5x as much damage as their ranger counterparts.

a warrior posted a video of them doing 15-20k crits consistently on their warrior with a rifle (killshot). but still… The best we do is with a full rapid fire that crits… and that’s MAYBE 10k (over entire channel).

Kill shot is a burst skill, it has a huge kitten cast time, huge kitten ramp up time, roots them in place while they are charging it, and the CD isn’t that great either (for the weakest version, not the full power 20k version) so god i would HOPE they can deal more damage with that skill then we can with our freaking 2 on a longbow.

After checking the wiki there is a 10s CD on the kill shot skill itself, which isn’t that bad, but you need to attack 10 times for the WEAKEST version of the skill to be used (by attack it means 10 skills, not 10 hits) and if you want a full powered shot that’s 30 skills that need to go off for that 20k, so yeah, have fun building that up so you can get a shot off on someone that’s either immobilized, not at the computer, or CCed by someone other then you because otherwise you should be able to dodge or reflect that skill easily.

It’s one, but powerful shot (pierce, trait). 10s CD isn’t long. Easy dodge? Maybe. If you imobilize the target before attack (gain fury, trait), it’s easy shot. In large groups it’s more hard dodge yet. In small groups, you just need wait the exactly moment to use.
For last, do you need attack 10x with WEAKEST version? You are * kidding, right? Do you have #1 bleed, #2 cripple (with imobilize, trait), #3 other powerful skill, #4 invu5x, #5 knockback (melee range).
Ok, give me one Kill Shot in one Bow, with the same cd, range, cast and DAMAGE, and i’ll never more talk about how rangers are bad.
I can’t understand why Engineer have a mid range with rifle (2 skills with 1.200 range, with trait), and Warrior have 1.200 natural. It’s like: engineer use shootgun and warrior rifle.

I’ve had to revamp my ranger with Cond Dmg/Precision/Toughness gear with Cond Dmg/Precision/Vitality accessories to make it viable because you will be fairly close-range when attacking, so survivability is paramount. I’ve stacked runes of the undead for extra condition damage and toughness on all armor pieces.

I use an Axe/Torch for the fire combo primarily and spam spike trap and flame trap. Skills spec’d 0/30/30/0/10, all in trap traits.

I use sword/warhorn as the alt for the warhorn buffs, what’s good is that I use superior sigils of hydromancy on one of the two weapons, including the alt weapon. When I swap to either of them, it freezes nearby enemies for 3 seconds. I’m finding the sword a little hard to get used to because of the rooting bug you get with Skill #1, so I might need to swap it for another axe. If the shortbow caused bleeding from all directions, I’d use this instead. Unfortunately it doesn’t.

Oh, and a lot of pro-active dodging is required. I’m still practising this build but I’m confident I can be of some use to a team once I master it.

The Freeze from Hydromancy is nice, but if you’re not completely opposed to getting rid of it, I recommend something else.

Do Axe/Torch and Sword/Dagger. Put Sigil of Geomancy on both Weapons….

Open with Torch Throw, Or Winters Grasp (unless Guardian, use Number 1 Attack) I prefer Torch Throw as it gets my pet on its way to the target and then I do Winter’s Grasp. Follow up with bonfire ontop of the target, then Do Number 2 Axe ability, This is a 5 Stack of Bleeds point blank, Switch to Sword/Dagger, this applies 3 Stacks of Bleeds from Geomancy, bringing it to 8 stacks of bleeds, Followed by Dagger 5, which is 3 STacks, So 11 Stacks of Bleed can be applied to the Target Extremely fast.. and on a very low low cooldown. If you’re using Traps you can apply even more very quickly along with of course Burning or Freezing (your choice)

In WvW? Total useless in large groups. Can be ok alone, roaming, but for roaming I prefer Thief ^^

I don’t understand why they don’t send the rewards by email. I lost hours doing the event, got disconnect at the end and did not get ANYTHING.
Fail event, srsly. Send rewards to all, or stop doing event, because you guys definitely do not know how promote an event.

My feedback about new PvE dungeon:

I started today with my friends the new dungeon. We like a lot, has a much better level than the others dungeons. However, there are some annoying things that happened. #1 When we set up and we went to Lion’s Arch enter the dungeon, some were in different spaces, and when we entered, we were not in the same dungeon, which has been very annoying. We had to get in and out of the dungeon to fall into the same space in Lion’s Arch (brilliant idea to put the new dungeon in Lion’s Arch, map without lag and with little bit players, just brilliant). #2Then we fall into a map with a huge statue, we had to carry a hammer of a boss upwards to break Seals. However, the player who was holding the hammer died, and the hammer just disappeared. We could not continue with the dungeon and had to start over on another. To finish, we fall into a nice map (fire), and managed to reach the last boss quietly. But, as already expected something to go wrong, a friend of ours was disconnected, and failed to return. When he tried to enter again, all were screened for outside the dungeon.
I dunno if it happened only with us, or if it is frequent.

Backstab and HS don’t got nerf. I dont feel the changes so big with my Thief.
Ok, DD -50%dmg is huge, but it’s nice yet with two players. And Trick (SB) works well.
Believe me, you are not ranger to QQ after this patch. Thief have the same 490390493049039403043 invi’s with only 3s cd, and run the north to south with 3 inf arrow like always do.

But again, why are banners not killable? IT’s a physical object, it should be targetable. Spirits are exactly what they’re named, spirits. Shouldn’t they be the unkillable one? You give spirits ability to not be targeted and we can keep their crappy proc rates and trait investments to make them move.

Fight to survive isn’t the problem.

However, you should not be able to stake someone while they are being healed.

If someone is being healed they should be able to be damaged (like normal), but you should essentially have to fight off their healer.

Correct, +1.
And damage by downed skills should be reduced.
But to balance the downed state in pvp and pve is hard. They should be different, coz each case is unique.

Just remove downed state from PvP or reduce damage from skills. It’s ridiculous, you have to wait almost 10 seconds to kill someone with a ridiculously high cast to finish, while he hit you with dmg 10x higher than a ranger, with dots and others things.

The true is: ranger is boring. PvE is boring. PvP is pew pew boring. All skills have low dps. Pet skills can help a lot, but they are so weak in PvP, and can’t hit movin targets (losing 40% dps of ranger).

I just wanted the skills of the Ranger cause damage, and not having always make conditions builds on sPvP. If you look well, there is no other viable build of Ranger in sPvP except Condition. Why? Simple. The skills (bows) give ridiculous damage. In any MMO I played, Ranger is dps, with a great damage, except here In DG, pet don’t count, cuz they die in one hit. So, you lost 40% dps (+nerf).
And not, I don’t want reroll to Warrior.

They need to rebuild the Ranger. From beginning to end. Only class where skill that gives more damage is auto-attack. This is ridiculous. Ranger is far from dps, far from support, far from anything. Traits wrong, skills buggy, no update, no nothing.
But.. oh wait, im rolling thief. I dont care more ^^
