make grenades have a “danger close” zone where if thrown too closely to the engineer they self-inflict conditions or damage to both the engineer and their turrets. or just make it so they can’t throw nades within their immediate area and then make nades travel 33% faster. otherwise, nades get to act as both nades and bombs while being even better at doing what bombkit is supposed to do thanks to their instant fuse at short range and they give 3 chances at minimum to proc IP

Hahaha. Simply put, friendly fire is just a path that leads nowhere positive for the game.

Also, instant fuse at short range for bombs? Bombs are ridiculously slow and avoidable – I’d go so far as to say they’re only usable on immobilized, point-committed, and downed bodies. Counter-pressuring a mobile Thief or Mesmer, for example, with bombs, I would go so far as to say that this is extremely rare. Unless they deem it ‘worth’ and eat some ticks of a fire bomb for a good reason, of course.

Yes, grenades are too good, compared to bombs. It has that snap 1v1 counter-pressure, where the Engineer really has little access to that, otherwise. Thats why in PvP, Grenade-less builds don’t really happen.

I’d love to use Bombs instead of Grenades, for a change. Maybe change Autodefense Bomb Dispenser trait to remove the fuse time of bombs (not the casting time, and not Big Ol’ Bomb). That would mean it would be unable to be used with grenades in the same build.

I’d totally run this build, then!

Well, it would be exactly how Grenades are right now. .5s Cast emote in melee, but yeah, I see what you’re saying. If instant Melee bombs are toxic, instant Melee grenades are too, then, by logic.

pretty much right, though there should be more risk/reward for getting in close with a ranged weapon set i guess? theres just too much in this game that is “toxic” :P

Who cares if engi is easy to focus down for the absolute top tier? It’s kittening off everyone who isn’t an absolute god at this game.

It’s not, My team has 4 zerkers, we’re a top team, and we refuse to focus an engi because it will just shield, into s, into dodgerolls, into stealth, back into shield. By this point either we have downs and are still trying to focus it with 0 effect, or dead.

Idk if u play necro but check patch notes , few changes that are simply uselles just to show us that they are doing smt to the class , 1-2 decent changes and rest is nerfs to a class that didn’t need any .

There is a tell, a casting time. Yes its not possible to tell where they are being aimed, but there is definitely a tell to all of them. Not every single tiny ability in the game needs a 1s cast + travel time + aftercast animation.

i said travel time not cast time, and tiny kitten glows on someones hand from potentially 1200+ range is hardly a tell on necro marks lmao

Nerf steal and it will be fine.
90% of the thiefs will ragequit and only the good ones will remain.

Thief is already unplayable among the bunkers that deal similar damage but have 3x more sustain. I doubt bad players or fotm rollers are playing thief atm since they could play something with no risk and similar reward.

unplayable? S/D has godlike mobility, great burst, great utility and can 1v1 anything in the game.

lets not forget how many dodges you get

Your kit seems well refined and your casting rock solid.

Undoubtedly you’ve brought the Mists to form. Like Zoose’s lightning strike you have hit a bolt to my heart… You’re always prepared and your lines almost seem written in stone. You simply deliver with vigorous precision and always seem to pan the camera quick. Just like a sharpshooter you target the weak and have maimed those who have been disillusioned previously. My mind is nearly wracked at the adrenaline you seem to pump into the match – your words simply make the images sharper.

I’m still in the top 1000? That’s a 10/10 joke because I haven’t played this game in forever. This game’s competitive scene is about as dead as TF2 or Super Smash Brothers: Melee, but at least those games have a concrete sense of skill variance.

Why is blu not just being flown out?

He has done more work than anyone else in the community and deserves it more than anyone. At the same time he is not a top tier player like the others on the list and should not be playing in an “All Stars” competition, he is a caster not a player and we do not want the casting mess that was pax.

some people refused the offer / couldn’t go ask him yourself i guess? i wasnt sure if i could make it and it wasn’t all that appealing really.

engineer is pretty much designed for spvp to the point where only one or two professions can even attempt to handle them.

they can spam aoe/conditions, use plenty of cc, go invuln multiple times, lay down AI (albeit mild), and aoe heal.

as a thief i only attempt an engie if they’re power or flat out terrible, otherwise there’s no point.

I hate hard counter professions as much as you do since necros are the hard counter to engis as engis are the counter to thieves. But you don’t see me as a main engi calling for nerfs to necros. So if/when necros aren’t such a hard counter to engis then we can talk about thief vs. engis.

Engi doesn’t hardcounter thief at all.

in the past engineer countered melee professions i.e mainly warrior but now they have condi immunity (which also counters power engi/ immob / blind etc) but melee profs are so ridiculous right now it hardly matters. engineers are pretty bad in team fights because everything they do is a projectile which are easy to fizz/destroy/reflect via guardians or eles (offhand focus or the more likely dagger MH earth 2) or guardian shield, or resolute healer (bubble trait on res?) not to mention the mere presence of a necro that is decent on the opposing team can nearly spell death for your engi. Mesmer/necro/ s/d thief all have access to unblockable skills or no-tell dazes to prevent the engi from blocking(or shredding him even though he is) which leaves the engi vulnerable in every teamfight where you could be a mesmer or a thief or a necro and just use a get out of everything ability (aka teleports/blink etc)

tldr i guess, engi is still good in 1v1, but gets shut down / outshined in team fights

This has been said too many times already. ANet, give us the option to make the opponent displayed as a generic human. I’ll even pay real money for it. You can even make it a gem store item. Here is my money, please take it and give the players a way to normalize the opponents’ models.

i would really recommend instant ground targeting and not using double tap to evade, otherwise play the game and learn and get better.

as for ranger ask like genyen/tany/kizos for a build or somthing (NA) Battosai if he still plays if you’re EU

Probably longer, seeing as it isn’t broken, there’s just a high quantity of fools that think it is.

Yknow what I did when pets started dealing twice as much damage as normal? I reported it. I didn’t come on the forums claiming it had always been like that. Grow up.

And neither did I. I hopped ingame and tested out the iWarlock thoroughly. It has precisely the same damage coefficient and scaling as pre-patch. People are just having fits because of the strength runes and battle sigil combo boosting damage.

If any of you have played starcraft 2 in WoL, there seems to be this resemblance between terran and thief concerning skill cap. Sure, terran/thief has a higher skill cap and thus higher potential, but really, when is this “maximum” or god-tier potential ever reached? When are absolutely perfect marine splits achieved? Hardly.

I think if people are going to argue imbalance, one needs to define it. Do you mean unbalanced as when two players of equal skill level play the two classes and one class clearly comes out on top, or unbalanced as in one class has a higher skill cap than the other?

i think they mean less counterplay kinda like how protoss in sc2 can get free positioning with those forcefields

Seriously though, I’ve been using auto face from #1 abilities while not pressing directions to turn my character while immob’d. Yay for round about ways of getting simple character movements accomplished.

They are really strong in PvP because of the size of the points. Foefire they lose a little bit of that advantage at mid, which is why those fights last forever.

Spam Engi has been viable since Day 1 because of that and will continue to be in Conquest mode.

It’s also super easy to play once you get used to swapping kits. Don’t let people like O Eggs or Reevzy fool you it’s not an intelligent playstyle it’s just APM benefitting from the way Anet designed the game.

Funny how everyone just suggests to fill engis up with condis….yeah too bad there’s something called AR between your conditions and 90% of engis in tpvp…

first of all let me say, i dont run Automated Response, second of all it’s not all that difficult for another condi engi or condi class for that matter to work around it, it just means lightly condi them until they are 50% or so then load them up with everyhting and save your interupt
