Takes alot of work to do well in WvW. I can load up my thief or elemental and just roll faces with half the effort. Its just simply a class that takes more effort to get similar results.

Makes me sad but scroll back some months and you can read the same blabla on ele forum about skill cap, half the effort etc. . Truth is, that gw2 is not hard at all anyway:-)
Dodging is a great mechanic but the amount of available skills (hotbar) just makes me laugh

Yes and no.

If you have 2 of them then you have twice the chance of having the effect proc, but if one of them procs, the other won’t be able to during the cooldown.

So in essence, having 2 of them just increases the proc chance of the effect, it won’t increase the amount of times it can proc during a set period of time.

Not rly twice the chance… having 2 sigils the formula is {probability of first event} + {probability of second event * probability that the second event will be considered}). So thats 51% instead of 30%… ICD of 5 secs not considered… so even worse:)

Nearby means “near you”. Radius is 240 pbAE, so no it will not freeze the guy at 1200 staff range. However, the good news is: yes normal AEO cap (5 “nearby” foes that is).

Using berserker coat is not rly efficient… stat wise at least, because you trade 5%crit for 72 stats… that’s 14,4 stats for 1%…..
If you rly think that 5% are needed, you’d be better of with useing 1 bers weapon just as an example… though you lose 90 healing of course (602 is enough anyway).
Edit: or even better… gloves, shoulders, boots as bersi but soldier coat… same stats but 1% more critdmg

But I guess whatever works for you:-)

Edit: to those asking for buildcraft….. the gear is obvious, use ur brain (hint hint… 8% mf, high toughness and critdmg)

How are your plans on S/D? Played around myself and found that crit/glassy works best (~1250 toughness + earth 2 is quite tanky anyhow) but 1vsX becomes quite hard (not to say impossible). However std S/D tpvp bunker is no fun in wvw at least for me…

@Lonny: I disassembled my VW T5 camper… I need to send some pics… so many screws ‘n’ bolts ‘n’ suff… funny sidenote: no matter what I repair, I always happen to have some of the parts left over. No matter if it is an iPad or a car… but the stuff still works afterwards…
Which brings me back to GW2: somehow the game works too (somehow) although so many screws are loose (either be it the game engine, the servers, the concept or the devs :-) )… just image what my car could do now if I know where to put all that funny screws… fly to the moon? Maybe… Now, what could we expect from GW2 if all that loose screws would be fixed, yeah indeed a good game after all :-)

For starters: I refuse to say anything about your comment regarding sPVP unbalanced gear, I mmmuuuuussssssttt reeesiiiiiiiissst……

However, I feel you man! kitten that guy and his ele!!!! He is running around in full ascended gear in a video from mid of November 2012!!! Evil ha x x or, they should just ban him :-(

Yeah big thank’s to TDA for organizing this! We had great fights during the whole event. Special thank’s for the 4vs4 at the very beginning as our 5th came late! :-)

Same here! Would really love to see a fight against us from a different perspective – but I’ll watch every vid from that event :-D
One of our guys frapsed some fights as well – if I am not mistaken even some of your bigger GvsG from the spectator’s POV :-) might take a while but I am sure he’ll share that as well.

It was after our guildevent, we saw them fighting against 10 people of Gandara, and we ran in from another side when we saw it was the REQ guild. Ofcourse we had to dance and laugh on your bodies. Just pixels right?

Don’t know about the others, but I had a blast the last 2 days :-) Truth be told, some of us were a bit suprised about the /dance etc. after you outnumbered … sry I meant outplayed us so badly ;-) However, after beeing pointed to this thread we had a good laugh and everything got clear to us, again! :-D
We are very happy that Zumy takes his guild responsibilty so serious and finds good friends in every bracket, he’s our foreign minister after all :P [Yes! We are a well organised and structured guild, we even have our own princesses and one cotton picker!]

@Sandwich: yeah, it took quite some self-control to not follow/stomp some of you in the middle of that AM zerg :-) Next time let’s just try to focus on AM instead and give them some well deserved knuckle sandwich… that is, if you’re a bit into that bread and roses thingy after all g

CoC vs WT: I think you mean 2x CoC is still MORE healing.
However both are good and CoC is ready everytime u switch to water for a small heal+obstacle ignoring super small dmg. Hands Down WT is just so much better in teamfights.

BTW I think that ‘pvp’ in the subject line stops some from even reading the guide though much of that info will help in pve as well…

The OP may prove me wrong, but to be honest I would never trade 2x AE(!) knockback/downs + mobility from RTL + Frost Aura for the added survivability against ranged classes in current meta (s/tpvp) and map layouts. Earth (MW / OF) is great, but the rest is just mehh…

I mostly play D/D but depending on team composition (esp in W3) I often switch to S/D with the exact same trait setup (0 10 0 30 30) but I never thought of water VI but honestly staying default water III with just 1 cantrip is a huge waste.

What really blows my mind is that you get to 8secs by speccing the insane amount of 5+ into illusions… for every other class that would be a GM trait …

@Aiglos: Good luck avoiding quickness stomp if you have ~1 sec activation time.

On topic: depending on what class imho… my asura necro just kicks kitten because she can ride on her flesh golem to infinity and beyond!!! (compared to ranger pets I’d guess those do not need food/water and do not pee to every tree)

But after a while her arrogance made me jump her off every bridge and cliff so I made a female human for my ele … no regrets so far :-)

Regarding lore… sry quite flat in GW2 for all races anyway…
