I honestly only tried Deadeye and Renegade in spvp, wvw, and killing centaurs in Alpine.

Deadeye was nice… I think having a different color/image shade for when you are kneeling/unkneeling would be beneficial. In the heat of battle, I couldn’t tell which stance I was in.

Renegade… sigh Revenants are a mess in core, let alone this energy hog and lackluster dps/support. I sat most of the time autoattacking and using maybe 2 skills and then autoattacking. Damage was low, no condi cleanse, stunbreak only on heal without the legend trait, and the heal didn’t do much at all. And underwater combat is locked again!!! You give “Champion Ritualist” title to revenants, but I feel this is a disgrace to GW1 Ritualist mains. (I want my ashes, weapon spells, and spirits!)

Honestly, at this point, any acknowledgement on the Revenant forums to know you HEAR our concerns would be better than being silent. You don’t even have to tell us your plan, just the fact you hear us in the Revenant community would mean a lot at this point… cuz it seems like you honestly dont care… like it was a HoT Design Team mess of a class that you don’t want to clean up.

Ventari healer, Glint or Kalla? [PVE]

in Revenant

Posted by: Rexivus.3794

Rexivus.3794

Honestly, I was hoping for a Healing Renegade spec before the weekend. I thought it would give me another option other than Druid.

I still don’t think Ventari Tablet energy management nor the healpower scaling on Renegade is going to make raid groups take a Healing Renegade over a Condi Druid.

Perma-/Almost perma-alacrity would definitely give the spec a niche to maybe alleviate chrono tanks; however, until energy management on Rev is more fluid, or the buffs are longer on a Rev, people will stick to the chrono+condi druid healer meta.

Can Shortbow skills cost no energy?

F3 and elite are strong and fun, but they greatly overshadow other energy-spending “options”…

Energy cost on weapons should be gone, period!

Even if this was a “pve” spec, all of the current meta pve builds have horrible energy management to make any of the utility skills actually responsive to battle, and the Renegade skills are the worst offenders for bad energy management. They are too energy hungry to make any of them available when you need them while actually continuing any sort of dps rotation, either with shortbow or mace/axe.

Overall, when battling Guild Lord and other pve mobs in WvW, it just seems that over half of my Renegade utility skills are just unavailable if I am to keep up condi dps, regardless of shortbow or mace/axe.

I’m not going to even start about underwater combat since revenants just get screwed in general.

With only a month until release, I highly suggest looking back at the “flow” of renegade playstyle… mainly in energy management to be able to maintain a dps rotation in pve, while still having energy to actually use our utility/class skills. For pvp, I think some of the cast times need to be reevaluated.

With another year for the next expac, I highly suggest you just redesign the core philosophy of Revenant. As a Ritualist main from GW1, I’m trying hard to really like this class since Engineer didn’t satisfy the hole in my soul.

Please, Robert and Irenio, please!!!

.==== The Expedition [XP] ==

NA-EST | 21+ | Discord | Flexible Schedule Raiding Guild

Guild Rep is encouraged 100%, but not required. Guild interaction on Discord required! Those who consider us your “main guild” get raid priority those who are side-repping/dual guilding, but raid slots are often open for all.

We are trying to expand our raid roster to ensure we can raid 5-days a week and get more boss-time for everybody. We also want to get new members integrated into our team before Wing 2 drops so we can hit progression at a reasonable place for everybody’s varying schedules.

CURRENT RAID NEEDS
Raid Times 9p-11p
—-[ Roster Needs ]—-

Mon = LOW

Tues = HIGH

Wed = LOW

Thu = MED

Fri = HIGH

—-[ Team Comp Needs ]—-

DPS/Raid Buffers: HIGH

DPS/Threat Tanks: LOW

DPS/Heal Support: HIGH

Special Mechanics: MED

We have enough support players for our current team size right now to raid 3 nights a week consistently, but would like to relieve some of our main support players once we get to raiding 5 nights a week.

Please visit our website http://theexpedition.proboards.com for more detailed information on our raid system.

.[XP] is just another medium-sized raiding guild; however, we do structure ourselves a bit uniquely than some others:

————————- “You Choose When You Can Raid!” —-———————
We offer a place for our raiders to progress in GW2 raiding with no strict schedule commitments though our Flexible Raiding structure. You sign up when you are available, and our Raid Leads will build 10-man teams ahead of time to let you know when you actually are expected to raid. Thus, if you need an “off night”, just let us know, and we will respect your decision to sit out. This allows our members to maintain a healthy balance between gaming and Real Life responsibilities without hindering team progression. This does require commitment to showing up for times you DO sign up for, with the proper gear, food, and strategy research, even if you are a sub for that night.

—— Traditional “Main Class” Approach + Unconventional Team Builds —--
We require all raid members to stick to one “main DPS class” with up to one optional “alt” to fill a support role. We also do not restrict people on which class is their “main”. Since we are focused on flexible schedule, we don’t have the freedom to pick and choose our classes for a “meta” team comp every night. Thus we often run non-meta team comps based on what the current roster’s strengths and abilities, which does leave less room for error than running typical meta comps. Though we get the job done and bosses killed, things like reaction time, awareness, communication, and patience through multiple wipes to find our “sweet” spot with our rotating team are absolutely required each night.

————————- Social Gaming Community —-———————
In addition to raiding in Guild War 2, [XP] members have interests in other games as well. We rely heavily on Discord interaction to continue to build our community, both inside GW2 or through other activities of common interest. We have started a list of games that people may want to connect and play together between raid times. In the end, the guild is about building a relationship of friends using raiding as our first area of common interest.

We invite on an application process. Essentially, create a forum account, fill the application, and start talking with us. We will talk with you about your schedule and what class you determine as your “main”. Otherwise, we will throw you in the next available raid and just see how you mesh with the rest of the team. After that, relax, have fun, and socialize!

Learn more about the guild, the raiding structure, and the application process in the Information & Recruitment forums.

Please contact Rivendusk (Rexivus.3794) or Sharpes (Sharpe.4051) on our forums or in-game for any further questions.

Sharpe and I are hosting a PUG Vale Guardian on Tuesday, Jan 26. Forming party at 8pm EST, but we might not get started until 9pm.

This will be a learning run, and we will be working with whoever we get, even if it means non-meta. We might not kill VG, but you can see how we approach coaching and patience we strive in our members. If you just want a kill and think you wouldn’t have the patience to wipe and run with non-meta strategies, then you’d probably get frustrated and probably should not attend.

Please send an in-game mail to Sharpe and myself if you want to attend. No Vale Guardian experience needed, but please have exotic or higher gear and full elite spec unlocked for build help. We will be using Discord instead of sharing our main TS server.

==== The Expedition [XP] ====
NA-EST | 21+ | TS3 | GroupMe | Raiding Guild | Team PVP
Guild rep negotiable, but 100% team interaction/commitment is required!

NOTE: We have slightly realigned ourselves to focus more on our core raid team and our current raiding style! If you have visited us in the past, please note that some of our past requirements have both loosened and tightened than our previous recruitment threads.

Please visit our website http://theexpedition.proboards.com for more detailed information on raid times and structure

[XP] is a medium-small community of passionate GW2 players who want to experience team-oriented content through raiding, PVP leagues, and open world events.

Raiding is our primary focus, and our core team is 14 members strong with a few more trials/subs in training. We are looking for about 6 more core raiders to allow our members to take advantage of our Flexible Raiding System, where our guild can sustain raiding every weekday with core members choosing their own “off nights” without affecting progression.

————————- “You Choose When You Can Raid!” —-———————
We offer a place for new and veteran players to progress in GW2 raiding with no strict schedule commitments though our Flexible Raiding structure. This does require commitment to showing up for times you DO sign up for, even if you are a sub for that night.

—— “Looking for MMO Raiding Skill, not Flashy GW2 Accolades!” —--
Though we allow our members flexibility in availability, the guild takes a very serious approach to raiding. We are looking for strong “MMO Raid Mentality” over how long and experienced you say you are in GW2. A majority of our recent recruits have come in with their fractal levels, armory full of ascended gear, 20K+ achievement levels, and saying they can play any role/class; however, plenty of them could not keep up with our raid style or oversold themselves and their capabilities.

Our raid team works off of team synergy, supporting each other, communication, patience with our varying levels of experience, adaptability of our evolving team compositions, and understanding what it means to be in a “raiding guild”. We work off personal self-assessment and being honest about our strengths and weaknesses, allowing our raid leaders to adjust team composition for max efficiency for the roster that evening. Being able to give and receive criticism in a professional, helpful manner is also crucial to working together.

—— “We build teams off our teammates, not necessarily what is meta!” —--
We require all raid members to stick to one “main class” with one optional “alt”. We also do not restrict people on which class is their “main”. We firmly believe that people play best on characters they enjoy, and that team roles can be found with our more flexible raiders and some innovative team builds. Since we are focused on flexible schedule, we don’t have the freedom to pick and choose our classes for a “meta” team comp every night. Thus we often run non-meta team comps based on what the current roster’s strengths and abilities. We have had clean kills with some unique teams, such as a team with 7 condi necro/engis, teams with no burnzerkers/chronos/druids, and teams with our main tank as main healer too. With the right skill level, support, and patience, we get the kills we need with the teammates we have each night.

—— Common Misconception: We are about traditional raiding, not farming raids —--
We have been getting quite a few whispers and complaints in our trial raids asking things like… “Do you have the full raid on farm?” or “Why aren’t people in full ascended?” or “Why is your team comp/strategy not optimal for this boss?”

If you have read about us and understood our philosophy, you’d understand that those issues are not what we are about, nor how we approach GW2 raiding.

We have a team that can one-shot/first-pull Vale Guardian and Gorseval with clean kills. 11 of our 14 core raiders touched Sabetha for their first time ever last raid reset ago, so our core team is just learning her fight. Most of our core raiders are in Ascended gear, but not all; however, it doesn’t matter to us because we kill bosses fine.

We expect exceptional player skill, but we also expect the patience to sit and wipe with our newer members in training. For our newer raiders/lesser performers, we expect you to improve upon our criticism and respect that we will replace you if we need to move everybody else on to the next boss.

Honestly, a majority of our stronger core raiders come from PVP backgrounds or other MMOs rather than GW2 veterans with dungeon speedclear/fractal backgrounds. We can train boss mechanics and help you acquire gear/builds, but we cannot train player skill and reaction time.

If you want easy boss kills, magnetite farming, and meta team comps, there are plenty of other guilds that can promise you that. I’ll be honest that those expectations will not make you happy in our community.

—————————————————————————————————————-

[XP] is no longer a “start up” guild, but our guild and flex raiding system can only sustain itself with members who truly comprehend our ways of running things. If you like what you read and want to join, please ensure you will be able to commit to our philosophy.

We will be running some “trial raids” this week… but (the twist!) for people to try our guild raids out.

We will hopefully do some VG with maybe 7-9 guildies and bring people interested in our guild to get a taste of our raid atmosphere. However, please mail me in-game or fill out an application on the forum to be added to my friends list.

TS is required (exceptions for disabilities), and I cannot guarantee I can call you in, but if you are online M-F from 9-11pm EST, those are when we will decide if we are doing a training raid… meaning, we will probably be training new tanks and healers, so you will get a taste of how we handle progression and conduct ourselves as raid leads. We will probably be looking for people with fresh VG instances to use too.

TEMPORARY OPEN RECRUITMENT: We are once again accepting applications, but are close to reaching our guild roster limit. However, our founding members believe and trust that this degree of dedication and organization is essential for our flexible raiding structure to succeed in GW2 raiding.

And, honestly, we are looking for those individuals who don’t need to be convinced about goals and philosophy, and will take raiding seriously while being able to socialize, interact with our community, and have fun at the same time. We let our members decide how much time they want to commit to GW2 (guilt-free!), and [XP] leadership plans around these schedules to ensure that whatever time IS spent in GW2 is worthwhile for each member, and isn’t wasted on egos inhibiting progression, lack of attendance, disorganization of planning, drama, etc.

Ok, now that I’m home, I contacted the host support. Here is their response:

http://i.imgur.com/Xp1Kct4.png

=Riven=,

No one to date has ‘hacked’ into PB. The main issues we have that affect forum intrusion (or cracking) is due to members sharing accounts (which is against TOS), giving critical admin powers to an member they don’t know very well (untrusted), or using weak or easy to guess passwords. I’m guess in this case it’s the latter.

There is no vulnerability with yours or anyone’s forum. And there would be no ‘hacking’ due to ads either. We have strict guidelines that we set forth for advertisers. The only issue regarding ads would be a rogue ad that redirects a user to another site (generally the app store or such, nothing malicious) but even then we go on an all out manhunt to locate and eradicate the offending ad.

Only being able to go on what you posted, they claim hack or attempted hack? Are there concrete facts to support their claim? It sounds more like they’re trying to stir up trouble for whatever reason.

This person’s perceived security issues are not the result of your forum or ProBoards. Your members are safe as long as they all practice safe computing. (Not sharing passwords, make the passwords challenging – not simple, not sharing personal information, etc.)

As a guild leader simply trying to promote GW2, HoT, and his community, this does put me in a sticky situation during recruitment. I apologize if you feel that our site is the reason you received hacking attempts on your GW2 account; however, I hope my efforts to resolve the situation is enough to comfort potential applicants to reconsider joining our community if they were turned away by this incident. The philosophies of the guild are built around my personal philosophy to uphold the greatest integrity I can as a human being, and I ensure you that I will do whatever it takes to ensure my members can participate in our gaming community feeling secure, safe, and respected.

With that said… I’d like to return the topic back to recruitment.

=[PHASE I Status Update for Potential Applicants]=

It hasn’t even been a week of recruitment, and we have a roster of 15 raiders, casuals, and friends.

We will be doing our first meeting tonight at 9pm EST to address our next step as far as getting the raiders into Spirit Vale. We are still looking for more to start our progression raiding core with our flexible raiding schedule, but this week will be “learning about each other” and for the Raid Leadership to build personal assessment profiles for each person — to identify strengths and truths to people’s claims of skill and capabilities, sit down and decide on next goals for ascended gear, and for us to coach specific roles and areas of improvement in 1-on-1 practice/scrimmages between the player and the Raid Leaders.

I suggest please considering your general membership applications soon if you want to raid because I will be capping the raiding applicants at a point while I focus on this developing the first core of raidmates. We aim to be getting our team integrated into raiding well before the holidays. Recruitment for raiding may open up again later; however, we are almost to our 15 core + subs goal for the Phase II of [XP].

Keep in mind the following:
- We are a North American guild spanning across the PST to EST play times. Being able to interact with our members off-raid times is crucial to membership in our guild.
- We accept both new and veteran players willing and capable of self assessing where one needs improvement
- We want to know YOU in your application and kitten how much thought you put into joining us
- Trying to impress us won’t necessarily help, if not hurt your chances of acceptance
- Group applications need a separate forum account and application for each person
- We are filling up quickly…

Hey, Fractured. I don’t know what you are looking for… hardcore raiding or casual or mix. In any case, my guild is looking for “raiders”… like… actual raiding mentality of mechanics, self improvement, and team execution. Flexible in schedule, but serious in team cohesion.

If you haven’t checked us out, please look at my The Expedition [XP] recruitment post:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/lookingfor/NA-The-Expedition-XP-Flex-Raiding-PvX/first#post5820072

(or the exact same thing in reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/guildrecruitment/comments/3v899j/na_the_expedition_xp_flex_raids_team_pvpworld_pve/ )

FYI, we are North American, EST-primetime based.

I’m more than willing to help you translate general MMO raiding into how it fits in GW2, coach you on how to get started, and we will help practice to get you comfortable to GW2’s raid combat… as long as you all take personal responsibility to want to learn and work on builds and gear.

Let me know if you want to talk more and see if my guild is compatible with you and your friends. =)

Cheers, and good luck on your guild search.

Hey, everybody. Just wanted to give a status and clarify some things.

A lot of interest in our guild ideas, but the question is: “How many people do you have right now?”

Just from opening recruitment on Dec 1, we have 11 people. We definitely need more for this effort to start, especially raiders; however, the people who have joined are all passionate about making this system work and are patient enough to wait for the right people to join. I understand the hesitation of joining a start up, but if you are still interested in us, we have to start somewhere, so I encourage you to at least apply and come chat with myself and Sharpe.

In addition, as far as our approach to raiding, one of our applicants put it very simply… Think of it like a “high school sports team” approach to raiding and competitive play… such as focusing on coaching and improving each other, but also being realistic of our own areas of improvements. We are going to set high standards, but also push everybody to improve and progress at their own pace with respects to the larger guild rate of progression.

Otherwise, good luck to all of those still looking for a home, or looking for a new home!

Hey, honkerrs. If you haven’t already, please check out our raiding guild post: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/lookingfor/NA-The-Expedition-XP-Flex-Raiding-PvX/first#post5820072

The thing in your post that perked our ears were your want to raid, but priorities for RL. Also, your interest in pvp falls in line with our goals.

Check us out, read our philosophies, and let me know if you have any questions. Picking a new home is really important in a social mmo, and we have nothing to hide here at The Expedition [XP].

Cheers,

=Riven=

The Expedition [XP]
NA-EST | 18+ | TS3 | Raiding Guild | Team PVP | Open World PvE

[XP] is a newly forming guild effort to established a small community of passionate GW2 players who want to experience team-oriented PVE and PVP through raiding, PVP leagues, and open world events.

We are a new “start up” raiding guild that is now recruiting general membership!

Raiding is our primary focus, and we are looking for strong raiders (note: RAIDERS, not necessarily GW2 PVE veterans) from all backgrounds, whether you are a player from GW2 launch to a new MMO player who recently picked up GW2 Heart of Thorns.

For non-raiders and casuals, we are also welcoming general members and friends who support our guild initiatives and philosophies.

Please visit our Information & Recruitment forum for insight into us and our application process.

Please note that the two founding members of this raiding guild effort have beaten Vale Guardian and Gorseval consistently with reasonably minimal progression time on each boss thanks to the excellent teammates from our former raid guild. We DO have successful experience in GW2 raids and are applying what we have learned so far to the foundation of this raiding guild “start up.”

Please contact Rivendusk (Rexivus.3794) or Sharpes (Sharpe.4051) in-game for any further questions.

[NA] LF Raid guild and Stronghold friends

in Looking for...

Posted by: Rexivus.3794

Rexivus.3794

I’m a veteran EST-based player (not a returning player), but I have been playing solo for the past year or so and am looking for a NA guild in preparation for HoT.

Here is “About Me”: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/User:Rivendusk

In short… I have a lot of experience in all of the professions, and really enjoy the combat system of GW2 and content that highlights it, such as PvP. I’ve played since GW1 and am very passionate about the IP. I’m not a huge min/max’er and definitely not a farmer, but I do believe in being efficient, effective, and proficient in my professions to take on challenging content and opponents.

I’m mainly focusing on Raids and Stronghold, and looking for a medium sized guild that has some sort of selection criteria (not zerg inviting anybody just for roster numbers).

For PvE, I don’t like skipping fight mechanics… so, running ‘zerker I can live with; but stacking behind corners to skip fight mechanics literally puts me to sleep. I’d rather have a fun time predicting, reacting, adapting during a fight rather than using EZ-gimmicks and farming just for loot. As far as raids, I’m looking for anything within Mon-Thurs in EST-based evenings. I’ve main healed druid in Vanilla/BC WoW and have done raid warrior tanking and raid spellslinger healing in Wildstar. Though I’m casual in my schedule, I’m pretty hardcore when it comes to taking raid progression seriously.

I sPvP a lot on the free time, but not needing a dedicated team… just understand I will be in the Heart of the Mists a lot. A guild with PvP guild missions would be ideal. I am interested in Stronghold, which I feel will be very rewarding with a coordinated team.

I don’t WvW much because I don’t like zerg roaming, and the server system is kinda limiting. I’m on Crystal Desert, but I’d rather be in a multi-server guild since Raids and sPVP are higher priorities.

Trying to find an established guild with similar mentality, or looking for people who’d be interested in starting one up. I already have a small guild I led at launch with quiet a few upgrades, but none of my MMO-dedicated friends are interested in GW2 anymore.

Please PM me with any prospective proposals.

Here is “About Me”: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/User:Rivendusk

I’m looking for a small/medium social guild that focuses on skilled team objective-based content in sPVP and raids, BUT I am a strong supporter of build diversity and staying true to fight design mechanics. I don’t agree with LOS-stacking speed dungeons and feel that skilled players can adapt and perform effectively without needing to skip mechanics. I’m more about having fun dynamic combat with skilled teammates rather than focused on getting the gold/loot/wins from content from gimmicky strategies.

Trying to find an established guild with similar mentality, or looking for people who’d be interested in starting one up. I have guild management experience and some draft architecture, and I already have a small guild from launch with a few upgrades. With recent “small guild”-friendly changes and more stable community since launch, I wouldn’t mind reviving this effort.

Please PM me with any prospective proposals.

Much appreciated,

[Feedback] on Revenant Beta

in Revenant

Posted by: Rexivus.3794

Rexivus.3794

First off… I’m loving the Revenant.

However, here are some of my issues with the current state after doing a lot of Stronghold games.

- The skill rotations on Revenant are REALLY slow. Not only do you have cooldowns, but you also have energy management. You can’t just flow your skills like you can do other skills.

- There aren’t many gap closers that are reliable as much as guardians and warriors have with teleports, swiftness, and ranged CC’s. Again, the energy+CD double disadvantage might have something to do with it.

- The damage output is kinda lack luster. I can go glass cannon, but I get downed faster than a light armor elementalist. Sustained damage is ok, but other classes get enough condi clears and escapes that counter because of the two points I just made above.

- Ventari’s Tablet is fun in PVP, but WAY too slow to do anything meaningful. It takes too much of my time to re-position the tablet for the fast-pace flow of sPVP with cast times and ICD.

- Degeneration skills are costly and make no sense if you don’t have anyway for energy regeneration. If you are going to work off GW1 style energy management, you need some sort of upkeep. If you use one of the degen skills, you won’t have energy for any other skills, and then you have to swap legends, forcing you to now fight in your secondary legend and taking off the degen skills.

I may have some more input later, and this is all imho.

Rexivus.3794

Looking for a small guild of people to team queue with who are knowledgeable of the game, gets to know their teammates’ playstyles, and uses VOIP. Preferable EST-based.

I have an 80 of every profession and can play all of them, but most comfortable with engi, ranger, necro, ele, and mesmer. I have champ engi and ranger, and I’ve been working on the other three titles casually.

My schedule is too variable for a strict schedule team, but I don’t mind sub’ing or off-schedule queuing as long as I get some playtime to get to know the team playstyle and vice versa. I pvp for enjoyment, so looking for team queues who play to win AND have fun while doing so. I really don’t care about bigger egos and 1-upper’s in team-based games.

Please contact ‘Daxter’ or any of my other toons! Thanks!

EDIT: If it matters at all, I am rank 41.

Need advice: engineers on skyhammer

in PvP

Posted by: Rexivus.3794

Rexivus.3794

I suggest watching your positioning and the skill animations. They will be watching your feet and positioning you for a direct line push/pull/fear. For Skyhammer in particular, keep the line between you and your opponent with you against a wall or object, away from the tiles.

For engineers, look at their weapons to understand what CC abilities they might play. For example, if he has a flame thrower, watch out for the air blast. When you see the big bomb, watch the red circle. Tool Kit, they are going to look to pull you into a pocket. After you see/hear the animation, dodge or walk out and then know its safely on CD. If you want, just roll and engi and test it out in the HotM to get a feel of what they have. Even if you have never played a profession, understanding all of them will make you an even better PvPer as you can understand some of their weaknesses and vulnerabilities.

Also, don’t just go in guns blazing. Just by showing up, a lot of people tend to panic and just press all of their buttons, putting their skills onto cooldown. Or they have a system of “press button A, then B, then C” and if you just learn their combo it will give you more of an advantage the next time. If you can just dance around for the first few seconds and watch your opponent, you can determine when it would be the most opportune time to run in.

Try again and dont get discouraged…. or go cap far point! ;D

You can ask some of the guys on the GW2 PVP stream (http://www.twitch.tv/guildwars2pvptv). They are all helpful for any questions, and you can also see them play in PvP to see some tactics put into action.

Guild Bounties Now Punish Smaller Guilds

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Rexivus.3794

Rexivus.3794

We have a <50 player guild. We are healthily at 30-40 accounts, and about 20 people on throughout a day for influence call, but only maybe 8 people online at a time on average.

We even have a small group of allies that we call on to help with the guild bounty.

We don’t even consider trying to do a Bounty without 10 people on, and even then, not all people are 80 nor have all the waypoints.

Even with 3 groups, we barely have enough strength to find the first bounty, let alone the second, and if we find them, kill them fast enough for people to run to the other zone and find them again. Different people have different computers, so they can just waypoint and waypoint without long loading screens.

Luckily, our guild is tight enough to not care that we fail, but it doesn’t help the guild feel like we will ever progress to unlock all missions. And to say “you dont need number, you need communication” is kind of offensive. So… we aren’t good enough… thanks!

And to give Guild Bounty Training for influence but no rewards… that doesn’t make us any better at the 2 targets in 15 minutes. Even if we find the bounties, we have to make sure everybody is there to help out and get credit.

We don’t need the devs to get defensive about their design… we are asking for help from a smaller guild sake. Otherwise, without 100+ people on the roster, we just have to accept our defeat and not care about guild missions at all.

Ditto x5000!

The communication between my client and the network is HORRENDOUS since this last patch. I have constant rubberbanding, skills locked in queue, and failure to interact with any of the world. The chat and watching other players still seem to work, and its not my internet connection as I’ve tried resetting it multiple times and no lockups on vent or anything. I see there are multiple other posts on this, but a lot of people think its wuvwuv culling and Dragon lag…

Hilko got it on point. I’ve done two bug tickets, and have failed to see a response from Arenanet that this is even an issue. Please tell me if its on my side. I can’t wuvwuv or sPvP if my skills dont actually cast, and I can’t even level while restarting my client every 3 minutes.

A response is all I ask for… if its something on my end, or I have to wait for a fix if its on the server end, either is fine. Just some acknowledgement would be nice!

The Expedition [XP]
Gates of Madness Server
http://www.the-expedition.org

Centered around the “Explorer” mentality of discovering all of what Guild Wars 2 has to offer, embracing challenge and taking risks, The Expedition [XP] is home to skilled adventurers who are capable of sustaining oneself, but welcomes fellow adventurers at anytime during his or her personal journeys.

We are a small, casual group of gamers that has found balance between our real life priorities and gaming. We are all about exploring our games in and out, in both PvE and PvP, trying new things, delving into different aspects of the game, all for the value of “the experience” over “the reward.” With work, school, families, friends, RL responsibilities, and peak daily gaming hours from EST to PST, we are fully capable of sustaining ourselves on our solo adventures; however, we support our teammates in both skill and morale when we do adventure together.

What do you mean by “True PvX”, “Real Life”, and “Explorer Mentality”?
As stated above, we embrace the entirety of the game. We aren’t just “open” to the idea of PvE and PvP, we experience it daily. Every day our members are found to be in a dungeon, in WvW, doing jumping puzzles, or sPvP/tournaments. In addition, we hold some dedicated achievement-hunters who strive to rack up points via dailies, monthlies, and explorer achievements. Again, each member is hardcore at heart, and has learned to manage Real Life with gaming, allowing them to play all aspects of GW2 at their own pace and leisure.

What should you expect as a member in our community?
[XP] lives off the social nature of our members. You should expect as much out of our community as you put in yourself. We have people on Ventrilo every day, and forums provide ample offline communication. If you reach out to us, we will respond! As a guild, we find “fun” in the random shenanigans we experience together rather than using each other as a vehicle for personal progression.

Dungeon Storybook, Token System, and Reward Effort

in Suggestions

Posted by: Rexivus.3794

Rexivus.3794

First of all, I just wanted to say that I love the overall design of the dungeon system (story, explorable, no needed trinity, etc). I do agree there is still inconsistencies in the level of difficulties, but overall, my guild and I enjoy the experience of playing together and the memories we have already made with the current system and fights.

I do, however, understand why many are disappointed with the system as far as difficulty, rewards, and level of effort to get the gear.

First off, sharing credit and expanding discussion, my suggestion seems to have already been sort of brought up previously by Kogasa Tatara.1409 in a post two days ago about bringing back the Master Dungeon Guide…
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Bring-back-Master-Dungeon-Guide-please/first#post156635

I’d like to echo something similar; however, I think there needs to be a little more that goes into a tweak in the dungeon system to preserve the hard work already put in, maybe even emphasize areas that are being overlooked, while addressing some of the concerns the general public has.

My first suggestion is to consolidate the various explorable dungeon tokens into 1 token… instead of having each dungeon have its token, just create a single, stackable “Dungeon Explorer Token”.

Secondly, re-implement the Master Dungeon Guide for the explorable modes. If you plan more dungeons in the future, maybe consider wrapping just these 8 into the book. (I don’t know how you would adjust for future-released dungeons.)

Now, as far as the dungeon sets/rewards, maybe for each piece of the exotic armor sets will require a full Master Dungeon Guide book. This means that somebody has completed all paths of the 8 dungeons for 1 armor piece of whichever vendor they want. Have each dungeon have a different set of stats with the same look, so if somebody wants the stats of one and look for another, they have to gain both sets. The rare-level items/armors can then be bought by the new dungeon tokens, as well as the Master Dungeon Guide can be turned in partially filled in return for some tokens.

Something to that effect above would allow everybody to experience all of the explorable paths at their own rate, and require armor-seekers dedication/effort into all of the dungeons without needing to “farm only the easiest paths of the more popular dungeon skins.” The level of effort to get a full 6-set exotic armor would mean running all 25 explorable paths at least 6 times (more for the weapons), spreading the incentive to do all of the paths of each dungeon. Finally, having 1 type of dungeon tokens means that those who are repeating dungeon content to help their guildies still get tokens for rewards, but there would be no need to worry about “farming” tokens since you need to complete storybooks to get your exotics, not stack tokens.

The tokens can be turned in for rares, consumables, or maybe some mystic coins or something, where you still get rewarded, but, again, there is no urge to farm tokens without taking the value away from the token.

In transition, you could put some vendors to exchange the dungeon-specific tokens into this new token.

In the end, all of the well-designed explorables get played, people will be willing to run all 8 dungeons, guildies can help guildies, there isn’t a need to “farm the easiest path” for tokens. You will get plenty of metrics on how long/difficult certain paths are relative to each other for balancing, so ultimately in the end, people will get their rewards, Anet’s hard work will be showcased, and previous tokens and effort still has value.

Food for thought… If nothing changes, my guild will still have fun anyway! =)

I received the items about a day later, but I’d like my 2000 gems back for the double purchase of digital deluxe. Also, I suggest making upgrades like that be only charged once, like you did with the unlocks in GW1 in-client store.
