Cheers guys. I’ll probably do the WvW route because I need to do quite a lot of farming and build up my gold level which’ll take quite a time.
Thanks again – Rik
Hi. I need deadly blooms to help me on my way to crafting a legendary weapon. I understand that these can be earned either in the dungeon itself or by selecting the Twilight Arbor Dungeon Track when in WvW. Being pretty hopeless in dungeons I decided to go via the WvW route but this particular track is locked. Is this down to me, i.e part of my story that I haven’t done yet, or is this track on a timer of some sort? Any ideas guys?
Cheers – Rik
Hi – I’m a level 80 ranger (male/human) and for some time my main out-of-water weapons have been an ascended longbow and an ascended greatsword. I recently crafted a legendary greatsword (Sunrise) and am quite pleased with it. I’m now thinking about crafting a legendary longbow but am not too impressed with the look of Kudzu. Is there an alternative to this or any way in which the look of the weapon could be ‘beefed up a bit’?
Cheers Rik
Thanks for your advice. I now have Gift of Metal and am working on the Gift of Light (I need to up my skill level in Armorsmithing).
Hi – I’m trying to craft ‘Sunrise’ a legendary broadsword. As part of this I need the ‘Gift of Metal’ and the ‘Gift of Light’. I have assembled all the ingredients for both but when I try to use the mystic forge to yield either of them I fail. Am I possibly missing an inscription here or is there something else that I need to do.
Cheers.
Is it possible to salvage armour bought with karma?
Hi All – I am a level 80 Ranger and, because of my poor survivability in WvW, decided to craft some medium armour. I believe that when I reach level 500 in Leatherworking I will be able to do this but which type should I go for? My gut feeling is one of the three types that have Healing as a major characteristic but I’m not sure. Any ideas guys?
Thanks for your responses guys. Having built up a fair amount of gold in my ‘travels’ I will probably go down the ‘Leatherworker’ route.
Hi – I’m a level 80 Ranger and want to craft some ascended armour to give me better ‘survivability’ in WvW. I understand that Rangers can, at best, wear medium armour. Of the different disciplines offered to do this I chose Armoursmith but am now confused because I’ve seen some info which suggests that Armoursmiths can only craft heavy armour. So guys can Armoursmiths do what I want? Cheers.
Thanks for your replies guys. I’d forgotten that my Bowyers Delight quiver was an Ascended Backpack which, as some of you have pointed out, was somewhat better than the Elegant backpacks I was thinking of crafting.
I’m a level 80 Ranger and am equipped, among other things, with a ‘Bowyers Delight’ quiver which has the following stats: +56 Power, +35 Toughness and +35 Vitality. I’ve recently become aware of the existence of Elegant Backpacks for Weaponsmiths and Huntsmen, both of which I could craft. My problem is that I can’t find any stats for these items so don’t know if crafting either of these would give me an advantage.
Any ideas guys?
Thanks fishball. I got there finally but it did take a long time , about 50 minutes, far too long IMHO.
I decided to give this a go and now have 50 out of 51 items. My problem is that I haven’t been able to collect a hot stone. I’ve tried the destroyers S/W of Winterthaw Waypoint in Lornar’s Pass without success (should I take out the destroyer burrows there or not?). Late yesterday evening when I tried again I noticed a rock fall in the cave entrance nearby but goodness only knows what this means.
Any ideas guys?
Can specific trinkets help to improve survivability and if so which ones are recommended? I’m a level 80 ranger and currently spend most of my time in WvW where my survivability is far from great. I have recently changed my build (as recommended and I think this has helped a bit) and will be looking at the possibility of improving my armour shortly.
Belzebu
The main weapons that I use are Zojja’s Greatbow with Superior Sigil of Bloodlust, Sapphire Orb, and two +4 Mighty Infusions and Zojja’s Claymore with Superior Sigil of Intelligence, Superior Sigil of Bloodlust and two +4 Mighty Infusions.
My armour is a full set of Dwayna armour comprising Soldier’s Rubicon hat, Shoulderpads, Coat and Boots and Magi’s Rubicon Gloves and Leggings. All of these pieces of armour have a Superior Rune of Dwayna.
I hope this helps.
Thanks for your responses. Belzebu in yours do you mean ‘Attributes’ as found in the ‘Hero’ panel or stats for the weapons I use?
I’m a level 80 Ranger and have crafted three ascended weapons the ones that I use most being the longbow and greatsword. In addition to this I’ve got a full set of exotic medium armour (I think that Rangers can’t use heavy armour but I might be wrong). My problem is that I enjoy the WvW scene but am still pretty useless at one-to-one combat in these areas. My question is should I now be looking to improve my set of armour or should I be looking at changing my trait (build?) allocation to give me better protection? My current trait allocation is: Markmanship 6, Skirmishing 0, Wilderness Survival 4, Nature Magic 0, Beast Mastery 4. On reflection 0 for Skirmishing sounds a bit stupid but I just don’t know. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
Cheers
Thanks to all for your responses. I’m a level 80 Ranger who isn’t very good at manoeuvring when in one-to-one combat (put it down to old age) so like Usain Bolt I was looking for ‘More Power’. Having ground my way to crafting an ascended longbow, an ascended reaver and an ascended claymore I think I’ll stick with what I’ve got.
Cheers
Am I right in saying that the stats for these weapons are nor better than those for ascended weapons? If so what’s the point in having one?
Cheers
Thanks a bundle Kyban. You’ve made an old Brit very happy.
I have, at long last, assembled the ingredients to make a Zojja’s Greatbow (1 Spiritwood Longbow Stave, 1 Elonian String, 1 Zojja’s Berserker Inscriptiion and 1 Vision Crystal) but can’t see how to do the final bit of crafting. I have tried using the Discovery Pane at a Huntsman’s Station but can’t ‘pull in’ the required materials which are sitting in my inventory. The same thing happens when I try to use the mystic forge, now located at Vigil Keep Waypoint in Gendarran Fields. I am a level 80 Ranger if that helps. Any ideas would be gratefully received. I guess I might be missing something but wondered if a bug had crept into the system after ArenaNet introduced ‘Lion’s Arch is Under Attack’.
Thanks to all. I’ve recently made some changes to my runes so that each piece of armour is now showing 6/6 and we’ll see how that runs.
Reikou – In answer to your questions my current trait spread was one that I set up several months ago on recommendation from a fellow gamer when, if memory serves me correctly, I was having problems with a particular instance. I thought that increasing my Skirmishing trait at the expense of reducing my Wilderness Survival trait might help to improve my performance when in The Mists and fighting gamers from other worlds.
On reflection is my Skirmishing trait perhaps a bit low whilst my Wilderness Survival trait perhaps a bit high?
For what? What is it you are trying to do with this trait spread, and why do you think your points in skirmishing is too low and your points in wilderness survival is too high to achieve what you set out to do?
Thanks for your responses. If it helps I am a Level 80 Ranger and my traits are Marksmanship 20, Skirmishing 10, Wilderness Survival 30, Nature Magic 5 and Beast M6astery 5. On reflection is my Skirmishing trait perhaps a bit low whilst my Wilderness Survival trait perhaps a bit high?
Problem – I get defeated too easily when gaming in The Mists. I suspect that this is mainly due to the fact that my hand/eye co-ordination is not particularly good (put that down to old age) as I think my weapons and armour are OK.
Where pieces of armour are concerned I have never really understood the bit in brackets relating to runes. For example my gloves state ‘Superior Rune of Flame legion (1/6)’. So is this a possible area for improvement and if so how can I increase my (1/6) rating?
The other thought was that perhaps I need to re-train my traits.
Anyway the simple fact of the matter is that I get defeated far too often by a single hostile gamer. It always seems to be the same, while my adversary is leaping around me and shooting at me and my health is dropping rapidly, I get very little time to lock on to him/her and get a few shots off.
Any thoughts on the above would be gratefully received.
Thanks Mercury. I did what you suggested and all is now fine.
Just over two weeks ago I completed ‘World Exploration’, with a bit of help from other gamers on one Point of Interest (Chantry of Secrets). Just recently, when gaming with another player, it was pointed out that my ‘Been There Done That’ achievement was not showing under my in-game name. Any ideas folks?
Thanks a bundle guys. It was the Chantry of Secrets as suggested.
I have ground my way to what I hope is a small stones throw from achieving this. The only thing that I am missing is one Point of Interest (POI) but where can I look? All the explorable areas including cities and those associated with the Mists are showing that POIs are all 100%. Any ideas gratefully received.
Thanks. I think you might be right. My system is now showing 53/60 & 88% achievement.
For the first time since starting GW2 about 11 months ago I attempted completing four of the listed tasks in October. Yesterday, having completed three tasks out of four, I was on the verge of completing the ‘Defeat the Champion Slayer’ task. When I finally did this the task didn’t show as complete and my % achievement fell back to 75%. Is this a bug or am I not understanding the logic here?
Thanks Wanze. Done it at last although I’m still not quite sure how I did it.
Thanks all for your comments. Things have moved on a bit but I am still stuck. I did buy two rare recipes from the master crafter for my other discipline (weaponsmith) but after more crafting finished up at level 399 as before. The guide which I have been using says you need 30x (Tier 5 Fine Materials) twice and I have got some of these but I just don’t know how to use them.
Hi All
I am a Ranger and selected Huntsman as one of my crafting disciplines. I have got to level 399 but can’t see how to hit the 400 mark. Some research suggested that I need two intricate silk insignias and suggested they could be bought from my discipline’s master, but they can’t. Any ideas folks?
Regards
RS
Thanks both. Will now get on and do the business (I hope).
Hi – I have recently started crafting in earnest but my inventory rapidly gets full with weapons that have been crafted. Is it OK to sell these to release some space or might these be needed for a later stage in the crafting process?
Cheers – Hillsider
