I don’t expect it to be dropped, but mac support has been little to none for the last year or so. The most recent update to the client was in October, I think. I still can’t play with more than a few toons on the screen at once before it crashes. Too bad too, I was spending a lot in the store.
Yeah, I’ve not played since October or so because of all the problems with the Mac “Beta”. When there are a large number of players around, the game crashes to the desktop and sometimes freezes my machine. I’ve been through all the troubleshooting tips with support to no avail. With the new expansion coming out, I thought there might be a shade of a chance of an updated client for us, but I don’t see anything new in the forums.
Ahem, hello? Anybody there?

Hmm, I’ll check on that, thanks.
OP, make sure you have the frame limiter in the graphics options set to 60. That worked for me when I had a similar issue.

I’ve been getting this error off and on since the beginning. Usually a restart would take care of it, then deleting the GW2 folder worked for a while, now I’ve just re-installed and not even that worked. I’ve tried to be understanding, but have we really not gotten gotten a client update since October 2012?! My good will is running very thin.
Having said that, does anyone know how to make the movement controls in the Bootcamp version of GW2 act the same as the Mac client? ie: move with WASD, but turn with only left mouse button down. If I can’t figure it out, I may be saying good-bye until Anet gets us sorted.
Me too. This started a couple days ago.
Working fine last night, but now crashing after a few minutes, crashing my machine to an immediate restart. Also doing something weird with my sound – suddenly I have no sound until I restart again.
Yep, seems to be working for me as well! Also, no crashing! Thank you, guys!
Yeah, I’ve got crashing too. Several times at Vigil wp just standing around, and once while I was looking through the new wardrobe panel.
Me either. Back to the drawing board, Sarah. Thanks for working late for us, though!
Try different things and do what’s fun. You’ll read that D/D is the only way to go, but the bottom line is that you should do whatever you want. Learn to jump between all attunements, and combo fields are wicked fun.
I play from Korea. My students haven’t even heard of GW2 – except for one ex pro gamer, but he doesn’t know anyone who plays. Not likely to happen until a Korean language version is made.
The people telling you that you’re doing it wrong are the ones who need to GTFO. Sure, do your research to find out what’s possible, but run what works for you and what’s fun to play. There will always be a tool telling you you’re crap no matter what you do.
I subscribe to the Dev Tracker, and Elementalist forums via RSS, which, until today were working fine. Now I’m getting and error that the url isn’t valid. Anyone else getting this?
I’d like the option of tracking more achievements, five is too few if I want to track more than the daily.
I like it – it gives him personality.
Very helpful, thank you. I’ve been staff from the beginning and playing around with combos recently and it does make the game more fun!
I have the same problem – US card, I live in Korea. I just use PayPay to buy gems.

This didn’t work for me, but setting the Frame Limiter to 60 seems to have worked. Got this advice from support.

OK! Just got some useful info that I THINK has solved the crashing problem. I just did Tequatl with a large group and didn’t have issues.
In the Graphic Options section, try setting the Frame Limiter to 60. The support person told me that “If the FPS gets too high, it causes hardware to get too hot so that it slows down to prevent overheating. Most monitors only display 60 FPS so it’s at no visual performance loss.”
Also said to check Vertical Syncing.
He also told me I could have all my other settings at high.

Mostly it just crashes to a error dialog. But, it’s frequent enough I can’t play WvW. Luckily, it hasn’t happened in an instance when I’m with a party . . . yet.
I’ve been getting random crashes more and more frequently. Yesterday, about 8 times, luckily it never happened in the instances I was doing.
