Guild Wars 2

I just updated this game tonight. For some reason all of a sudden it wants to crash right when I hit play it starts like its going to begin the game but it crashes before I get to character select. I saw something on it being windows 10 but I have it on my laptop and it works fine but I play mostly on my PC. This is really frustrating and I decided to save the crash report I will post it here.

Unless you have a data cap Mimejuice then you will be eating at your data cause its always trying to DL the file while your playing.

Looks like there is no fix to it. Guess we just have to wait to play til they fix it…and its not a big issue to them cause you can get into the game but for those of us that have data caps we cannot even play. Please fix this ArenaNet!! PLEASE!

but its steady pulling from the internet so its doubling my Internet data which means if I am playing the game its always trying to get that one file and I do not have the data to play the game and get that one file all night.

I am beginning to think support for GW2 sucks and they want us to continue buying their expansions and such? If they wanted us to stick with the game they would fix this or give us some kinda help.

I cannot play it while it tries to download I have a Cap on my data (Dumb Comcast) so it would be doubling my Data by letting it tap at the internet while I played for a little while.

I recently had to get a new hard drive set it up and attempted to try and install my client but for some reason no matter what I do no matter what I follow online nothing is working its still stuck at 99% and with 1 file remaining I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this I am really getting upset over this and no one seems to know anything I have tried everything I can think of and everything thats online. Tried the repair tried the assetsvr thing tried .dat file delete and all.

Well there are alot of people who think its just annoying and turning all that stuff off just creates something else annoying like oh your toon doing nothing at all. I am just going to sit out of this for a few days play another game if its like this for a year then I guess I get to play my PS4 for a year. lol and everytime they do something this stupid I will do the same thing. If you do not like something in the game the best thing to do is just not play…soon as the player base stops coming in during a stupid event maybe they will think harder about what they do.

No I won’t name the guild cause its not worth it.

I was asked by a friend to join my guild and it was not like asking me he said they where taking members and I went myself to the guild. But what happened to me was not politely asking…they pushed me into either joining their guild or leaving the map when I was playing the game just like everyone else. But I am done with this thread since no one seems to get the point.

II never said anything about not wanting the event to succeed what I said is I do not have to join a guild to succeed in the event. I can run the events with people without being in their guild or their guild TS. I get loot regardless of being in their guild repping them or not so why should I have to rep a guild I do not even want to be in. Why should I be forced into their TS when I can do the event without being in their TS just follow the dang group and do what they do its not rocket science. And no I am not trolling I am making a dang point that people should not be forced to do crap they do not want to. They should not HAVE to be in a guilds TS they should not HAVE to rep that guild just so their guild gets something extra when the personal awards are the same whether you are in the guild or not.

That is my own convictions its not the guild as far as me feeling like I would be disrespecting my guild. And joining another guild just for events is not enjoyable to me I can do events without another guild I can do events with my own guild or with friends I do not need to join 5 guilds just to do events. I can have just as much fun running around and doing events with a group of people that just want to do them and not be pushed into a guilds TS.
As for the new TS server if I made the money to pay for it I would just to make sure people would not be forced into joining another guild and get into their TS. Being in another guilds TS would interfere with being in my guilds TS if events cannot be organized through Map Chat then Guild TS is not going to be any different.
I love the guild I am in….and I have a sense of respect for them that most don’t cause people think that jumping from guild to guild just to do events is enjoyable. The event is enjoyable not joining every guild that so happens to organize two different events thats just stupid.

ok but I still do not know why I would HAVE to be pushed into another guilds TS its not something I just up and do. I am apart of blackgate TS and My own guilds TS and joining another feels like I am merely disrespecting my own Guild and I won’t do that cause joining their TS is joining their guild in my mind. If it was a World Boss TS that everyone can use as a community TS that would be different. Or even call it a Megaserver TS but to make people join a guilds TS is telling them that their guild runs everything and you are under their thumb and you could be bullied by them cause your not apart of their guild.

To me reping a guild 100% of the time is about loyalty and respect to your guild…and those things mean alot to me…I do not join a guild and treat them like they are a mere group of people that give me benefits in the game…they are my friends my family to me. I won’t just up and join a guild just to rep an event they are pushing people to join their guild. I have run the bosses before without joining a guild or a TS and gotten through them all and actually defeated them all with out so much as hearing a voice. So its possible to kill the bosses without pushing people around.
There is no need to try and make people do something they do not want to. I see no benefit to myself only to the guild in question. I get nothing but the normal personal reward. So I do not need to be pushed into repping their guild. As for the TS I don’t need to be in a groups voice so they can boss me around with a game I play. I listen to whats going on in Map Chat I do not need to go into a guilds TS and be TOLD what to do. There are better ways to organize then to try and dominate people into a certain guilds way of doing things.

If you say so….I know how it feels to be bullied and the situation I am talking about I was bullied. I did not name the Guild…. and I won’t someone else brought up TTS. And as for joining a TS of another guilds that could be a catastrophe if everyone and their brother can jump into a guild TS thats not apart of it. Can you say ‘Spy’ and Pure flaming from people who are on voice. I can see how that TS will go during an event. At any rate….I know what was going on and the guild I am speaking of might have been organizing the event but they went about it very harsh and wrong in my opinion.

They have no right to ask me to rep their guild during an event. I already rep a guild 100% of the time I am not going to get kicked out of my guild for reping another guild nor will I disrespect my guild for some elitest guild forcing people to rep their guild just cause they want to hog the map for one event. Don’t tell me what to do nor how to play and thats what they are trying to do. I don’t owe them crap either and I did not say they owed me anything but they have no right to tell me to do anything I do not wish to do nor will they force me off a map I am playing. Let them organize their little guild events if I want to stand on a event and play it without being in a guild or a TS channel thats my right.

Telling me to join a Guild TS is telling me to join the guild cause I would have to except joining their guild to join their TS I cannot just jump into their TS and not join their guild. One member even told me to rep their guild during the time I am doing events with them which is telling me to join their guild. I won’t do it when I already am apart of a 100% rep guild. If they want people to join their guild they should do it like everyone else and actually ask and recruit.

I can name one but I will keep the Flaming of a guild down but I know from experience it happened to me.

ok the problem I have just noticed recently is that one guild maybe more are doing their best to Dominate events….forcing people out of maps just cause they want more and more people to join their guild and not let people become apart of the events unless they are in their guild and in their TeamSpeak. Everyone paid for this game everyone has the right to play it how they wish and when they wish no guild or people have the right to force a person out of events or maps cause they want to Dominate the event or Map. Thats just my opinion and hey thats my right too.

I’ll stick to RP in places like Second Life or other 3D chats I would horribly fail at RPing in a MMO. It would be to hard to create my character around a story I did not create myself. It would be like playing out My character in someone elses book and I would rather not be forced into a script I like to do what I want with my character and not be pushed into events and such in a already structured and story laid out game.

I am not showing hatred for it I just do not get it…even after all the posts I would not be able to RP in a MMO cause of the on going events the same things over and over and over. Trying to make a story up or play off a story that repeats itself every few minutes to every hour just seems like it might be repetitive and I just would get bored real fast. Standing around chatting ICly seems more like a waste of time then to act something out that might be different everyday. Only thing I could think of is RPing out the living story and making it take upto the 2 weeks it takes them to put out something else. But to fight the same events with the Risen or the same bosses over and over after rping killing them more then 5 times already would be very boring. So maybe I am not getting it. I have RPed for over 20 something years…but it was in a situation that we made up we played our characters in situations and scenes that changed daily nothing was the same so maybe I am set in my D&D and online text chat RP ways cause there just is no way to RP in my opinion with tons of people with the same thing occurring over and over the scene would have to change in some way. and its not hatred just straight out confusion and misunderstanding of how someone can actually like RPing in a place that stays the same day in and day out. Nothing new goes on its the same events and such all the time so how would you explain viable RP that you do everyday over and over.

Yeah but if a player goes to one of those area’s such as a Flame Legion home or such they would be attacked so there is no way to actually RP being apart of such factions. As for the others those events happen over and over and over after doing them the first time what would you do the next time once you have covered all the other events in the game the RP would be in a stale mate. Nothing to do except stand around chatting to each other in character which would get impossibly boring. Just does not make sense to me. There are chats and things I have RPed in but the games I play seems impossible to actually get into RP cause of the repetitiveness of the on going events that do not change daily.

I got a Whisper from a friend on my list about RPing in the Straights of Devastation. I have always been confused on how to RP in a MMO so I turned him down and said I am not sure how to RP in a MMO GAME.

So tell me how does one RP in a game where everything is repetitive….the events the hearts the vista’s the poi’s Map completion its all the same on every name every few hours or minutes so how can you RP without repeating the RP over and over and over and over. It would get very very very boring after a while. How would you go about RPing out getting a Vista or a PoI How would you RP doing a event more then once. Its just not exactly productive in a MMO to RP when everything is the same every day…there would be NO new RP. After a week the RP would be over. Just saying I just don’t understand how it would be done and would never even attempt it in a MMO.

I know how you feel OP I have been trying to unlock the traits on a character for a while now and for some reason they make getting the traits impossible. I do not think they should force dungeons on people just to get traits for one and they do with most of them. Then forcing you to group up with people just to get them is like telling people they HAVE to play in a group of people they do not know just to get your personal character where you want it. My build and traits have nothing to do with other players so why should I be forced to work with them just to get the traits. And to hear people say their easy to get thats bull crap. I have never been able to get past a dungeon with even a group….much less by myself so there goes over half of the traits. Then they say you can guy them. Alright lets attempt to get the kitten skill points and gold it takes to open them that sounds doable. NOT. Come on if its something personal with MY character I think getting them during our personal story would be a better idea. Make them a bit more do able.

GvG in the end would leave out people who do not have a guild or that have very small guilds so seems a bit unfair would it not? My guild is little to no active people so I would have bought a game for nothing and have to stop playing cause all I would do is get killed by every guild in the game just for walking around doing PvE or something.

There is a way to move to the instance someone is on I did it alot with others. If I was on a different server I just went to my guild or friends list and right clicked on it and there is a option to move to them. So the idea of not getting people together wkittentered with that. As far as disruptive players……block them. Ignore them Welcome to the world full of bullies act as if they are not there and nothing is going on its the same concept of ignoring a school bully. lol

Lucentfir Your not getting my point play like you want but I do not see how people RP in a game setting that is meant to be played as a game. I do not understand not that its a bad thing if you can do it and not see a issue with jumping in and out of character then by all means do it…but I would have tons of trouble actually RPing in a game setting like GW2 cause its a game not a RP setting…there is to much around that needs to be done and no way to actually fit my character into a Scene when the scenes on every map are the same except with its living story….same champs same events whats the explanation for that RP wise? “Oh I killed it once how did it come back to life!!” I just do not understand how people RP in games. If you can cool go for it I would love to see how people do it cause it would out right blow me over. Its a game its meant to be played as it was made..playing a character in a RP in a game setting that has the same events the same champs and all could get a bit repetitive RP wise.

As far as the Megaservers go I guess I do not see the difference in now and then…..just that there are people running around that are from different servers. Does not seem to be a good or a bad thing to me. Even if I was a ‘game’ RPER its the same crap on every server to why does it matter if everyone from every server is on one place…..the place has not changed just the number of players and the idea that servers are kinda obsolete in the PVE world.

shakes head I still see there will be more problems staying in character such as completing a map and moving on to another map. That would throw RPing out the window. And finding a reason to go after a Vista might sound easy to you but its kinda a lame reason to say “Oh look a nice place to see a view.” its just not something I would see as fun…kinda repetitive and going after POI’s would ruin RP too. What RP reason would I have to find that many places? I would have to see how people do it…but I am not on Tarnished Coast server and never seen anyone in black gate RP they just play the game.
Usually when I get a game I just play the game its hard to believe anyone can Role Play in a game that is suppose to be played and not standing around wasting the 60 bucks RPing…if I wanted to do that I would as I said go to Second Life for the day and RP there where I am not playing a MMO. Just RPing in a 3D world.

Hard to be in character if your having to tell people you need a poi or finish a heart…hard to be in character when you have to tell people you need to stop for something that was missed. The mechanics of the game keeps people from actually staying IC so how can one actually RP and play the game its not about imagination or lack there of its about playing a game as apposed to standing around acting out a character and hoping a scene comes up to actually RP about. So I have not seen people actually RP in a ‘game’ so I am saying I do not understand how they can.

Not true….I chat in a place called Second Life its a 3D chat my character is actually there not just text based.
I just do not see how I would be able to RP in the game if I am suppose to be doing hearts and points of interest and such in the game. Not much IC in that…..There would be hardly any game play just standing around going back and forth in Character like the chat I am in. Just not sure how I would RP in a Physical game.

Guess I would not know the first thing about trying to RP in a game…..I thought the game was made to play not stand around talking back and forth…if I wanted to do that I would go in a chat RP not waste 60 bucks to stand around in a game I am suppose to be playing. Guess I do not understand….I have RPed for going on hmmm 20 years and I have only done it in Chats not in MMO’s or games like this always just played games.

blinks and reads a second time Ummmm this is a Multiplayer RPG You are Role Playing what seems to be the problem? Are there actually people who forget the playing of the game and actually act out their characters. Thats new to me in a MMO thought people just played the game not made it out to be a chat RPG. I am lost how anyone could actually Role Play in a Game and just forget its a RPG game. Just play the game thats Role Playing cause thats the type of game it is.

I read these forums and listen to everyone talk in wvw and I am so lost on abbreviations there is no page that tells what they are…I have got to be the most confused person running around wvw going. “WTF does that mean what do I do how do I do that?” lol

I tried to do the living story and could not even get through the first part…I could not even figure out where to go or what to do…so I just leave the LS stuff alone. Not many on really help out they just say go to the top yeah thanks the problem was HOW do you get to the top?

It is kindfa a joke….I have been playing WvW just to get the map completion and it turned into me just following the zerg cause all the skill points and Vistas are in Enemy territory that never flips over to where I can get them. I have been playing for weeks for things to flip so I cann get them and we have been the same color everytime. Since I have been playing it has been somewhat fun but it is frustrating to try and get things when there is no way to get them. plus some of the skill points are no where near where Commanders and the zerg run so never get to get them and as was pointed out…zergs will not help me go get it. So it is kinda a joke to even have it in wvw. What it looks like is that it was put there to try and drag pvers into wvw to try it….well with the frustration of it some of us might leave wvw just cause of it.

I have recently played some WvW…Is it my fave thing to do in GW2 no its not really its frustrating and sometimes out right upsetting. I have had some good days with the zergs and I have had more bad days. BUT if GvG means people would be attacking my kitten while I am playing a PvE map I would quit playing the game and delete it from my comp cause when I am in PvE I want to play PvE if I want someone running up on me and attacking me I will play PvP or WvW. So coming from someone that has had little good to say about WvW or PvP Heck to the Naw Keep WvW the way it is and keep PvE and PvP the way it is….some things could be fixed and sure add the GvG to the game but do not add it to PvE or take away WvW just to appease someones idea of wanting to feel big and bad cause he can run up on loners or a few people with his large guild cause he is to afraid to play WvW or PvP. kitten cause you got yer kitten kicked then stop playing it. Like someone said Don’t think this game is for you.

Everyone keeps saying something about zerker gear I am not to my knowledge wearing any zerker gear on the toon I have been playing WvW with. But how would I know if it was zerker gear anyway does not actually say zerker. I do not know how to tell if it is or not. From what I am being told I have looked ankitten ot wearing any. Not to sure how to do the builds either I have worked on builds for a while and they all seem to suck so I just do not know what I am doing to get things working right.

And as for dying it is a big deal when everything I need is WAYYYYYYY out across the map and I have only two different way points to go to and everytime I am on my way to get one or all of them I get jumped every time…..and JQ are notorious for attacking people in huge zergs regardless of how many it is. Its like they camp there waiting for the people to come back just to jump them again knowing they are running solo.

And as for joining other guilds just for wvw I won’t do it….I do not run with guilds only my own and I only have myself and my wife in it with 2 friends that do not play no more. lol I am content running with just my wife without joining people that will just drive me out of the game like has happened 2 times before.

@Markus I was told thats how people got them…I was told to follow a zerg to get them so I assumed that meant they would help me. But guess I was lied to like always since I been in the game.

@Assassin Not spending money to transfer servers just to get map completion thats insane.

only time I log is when I get downed for like the 50th time and I respawn at the wps then log out of WvW cause I for one think its unfair to be attacked by a whole zerg when I am standing or moving around alone. Not like I am a threat to anyone running alone.

Ok I have tried WvW a number of times….I go in to get map completion and everyone says just hook up with a Commander and run with them and you will get it…Yeah right if you stop you get left. Behind if you move along with them you miss what you need…going alone gets you beat down by a zerg of players. So how do we get map completion if we do not have the help that was said we would…I ran with a zerg last night and every time I went for something they had better things to do then to wait for me. I cannot blame them though they are playing WvW not getting world completion and I am just not into the whole getting my butt plastered to the ice and grass every time we fight someone. But I do thank Cest and the guys early this morning for at least letting me join up with them and have somewhat of a good time being that I was confused as hell and had no way of getting them to answer my questions.

What is BoH? Been here a while but still cannot get these abbreviations down. And I do not have a commander So hard to give them to them if I had them.

Sounds like a good time to get map completion since there is hardly anyone there to bother me while I do….Hates WvW and the forcing of Map completion through it. But if its dying then maybe I can get it and run before it picks back up lol.

If it did not go from taking over maps and such to running down small groups to people alone with 60 or more people it might be a bit better but my first two attempts at it where my last two cause all people cared about was being in a train of 70 people to attack one person waiting for them to come back and attacking them again for no other reason then they where there and could attack them. Could have been a group of level 80’s and I was only a level 30 I decided then that world completion was not worth even trying. People where just being bullies and went from the idea of the game to just pushing people around.
