Does anyone exactly know what kind of axe the Master Weaponsmith is asking for? Cause after these dialouge I can’t seem to understand what kind of axe it’s talk about. Is it white axe can buy from merchants? is it the blue one you can craft(doubt so cause their Fine quality)? is it the green one? (doubt so cause that’s master quality) and anything beyond that is either rare and exotic to ascended which is far from basic.

Also… how are you suppose to fit 250 Axes in your inventory at once to satisfy this NPC…? My character has all unlocked bag slots with 20 slots bag. It all add’s up to 160…

Hey people of Tyria,

I’m currently working on my Tooth of Frostfang. Part one has been about harnising the essence of the elder dragons which is an okay concept, however when it comes to the part with Mordemoth, and killing Vinewrath I find that task impossible.

Here is why. The first thing I stumble upon entering Silverwaste is Chest farm. That’s literally the only thing happening if not most valuable meaning in that map. I also can’t ask people in the map to stop their chest run to do Vinewrath for my benefits.

This leaves me to a question of when (time) or where (server) do people actually do this event, as I really want to continue my journey in this making of Tooth of Frostfang.

I’m currently trying to craft Tooth of Frostfang from the precursor crafting thingy. One of the jar requiers you to get Mordrem Lodestones or Evergreen Lodestone. I then thought of using these Evergreen/ Mordrem Slivers which I keep getting and merge them all up to Lodestones (assuming they follow there fellow cousines in upgrade path in Mystic Forge). However they do not appear in the menu for mystic forge to even upgrade. Is this intended?

Dear A-net, I know that an interview with Colin Johnson was done somewhat in this week about future content. I love the direction and all that, but there is one thing I wish a-net could release for easter like they did last years. Super Adventure Box.

Knowing that China has their launch on April 15th, wouldn’t it be a great idea to let them all get hyped about the living story. Where as SAB makes a perfect introduction to what living world is. A phoneme which drive Guild Wars 2 to this successful MMORPG it has become.

In addition, last time we had SAB was on September 3rd 2013, which was several months ago. Knowing that Josh Foreman, and several other dev put so much time into SAB, it would be totally awesome to see if they made any 4th level. Came up with some crazy idea. Twists to several of the maps, and not to speak the unforgettable hours with Tribulation mode.

TL;DR: I just hope that a-net’s way of giving us player an easter egg would be SAB :P

I’m just going to patience and wait to 15th. I mean when that patch is out going out, there is a hope the BLT is also fixed. Unless the 15th patch bring even more bugs and more requests on support help.

As stated by all the other people here every single patch that has been dropped out since the Toxic Nightmare, something has gone wrong for the mac client. Yes, it is frustrating. Yes, we get sick tired of it, but their working on it. Question is how long? When will it be dealt with? How much more do we need to endure this?

I seriously gave up using the BLT for now, till this hopefully fix is rolled out (please say its 15th). I’m just keeping the flips in there for a bit longer, and keeping the stuff i’d like to sell as well longer. If there is a thing I need in a most, I have friends. Ask them kindly they’ll probably get the thing you want. (by you sending them the coin through mail)(those lucky windows…)This is just temporarily, but it’s better than having a blank BLT and do nothing about it. (NB! you can also use gw2spidy to check TP price on stuff)

As for gem store, well we sadly get to miss out discount offers from now till 15th (hopefully) but that’s life I guess.

All I am seeing in this thread is “My skill is to inadequate to complete this content. please make it not as hard so I can feel better about my inadequacies…”

As a wise man once told me; “wish not for a simple life, but for strength to endure a kittene.”

I don’t know if you understand what people are up rioting on. Or maybe I should say you don’t understand what the main problem with the dredge fractal is.

There are so many points pointed out by the players here of why Dredge fractal should be redesigned. Sure we can do it how it is now, but the way the map is designed is not fun, its frustrating, and at they very least. All the kitten effort you spend in that one map has a crappy reward compared to 3 paths of AC.

mark my kitten word when FUN AND EFFORT is not met. That is when people walk away from the content.

I don’t know if you have tried dredge fractal at level 50. Do you find it fun battering through endless of spawn of dredge? Maybe die thousand of times because the PUG you party with didn’t know what to do, and despite explaining them millions of times they don’t get it? Or maybe you enjoy spending 1-2hours on one map because it was chosen by RNG?

I seriously don’t understand the core idea of why you are trying to be such optimistic about “life is this and life is that”. It’s a game, a-net has and CAN change the content. They want people to play their content then, fixed so it becomes enjoyable for people. Wither you lack skill in PvE or not. Dredge fractal is not fun. I bet 90% of the post here even demonstrate this to you. So please. Stop trying to defend them with these wise word and look at the kitten facts.

Today I’d like to talk about a problem that have been here since the release of that certain map. The dredge fractal. I’m pretty sure I’m not the first to complain or wanting to discuss this, and i’m not going to be the last either. I was just notified by fellow redditors when I read the following message.

Then after clearing out the left side of dredge, the mesmer would lay down a portal, and then blink over and into the big cage and put down a portal so rest of the team would join in.

When I do fractal of the mist I believe the core design of what a fractal is

  • not encouraging people to do exploit because Y X Z is making progression faster
  • not adding trash mobs that serve as a time consumer, but rather have a purpose of why they are there

and so on.

TL:DR. I wish and hope that A-net take some time to analyse what is fun and what’s not. Cause for instance Thumanova Reactor fractal has much greater design, and understanding of why the trash mobs are there, why we are doing Y X Z? etc. Dredge however? Tons of Dredge, caravan that feels like a…. added because we need something to consume time (content wise), encourage people to exploit to save time etc.

On the side note the only thing I can think positive of Dredge fractal is the drops, but other then that, nope. Too long for a fotm level, trash mob feels like a time consumer etc.

This is where I think you need to reconsider, because out of these two maps, which do you enjoy?

Dredge or Thumanova?

Which of them has trash mobs added, because it makes sense they are there?
Which of them has a puzzle which is “enjoyable” (puzzle as needing Cooling rod vs standing on pads?)
Why is there even a caravan pooping out a ridicules amount of dredge because its suppose to be a “time consumer”.

These are the core idea behind why I even started the discussion. The reward isn’t something I really bother of. It’s the map design.

Fotm offers:

1) Pathetic guaranteed rewards (I can make 5x the gold of a 49 run, Dredge included, just by running a casual AC)
2) Pathetic RNG on new reward systems (haven’t seen a single Fractal weapon since the Fractured patch. At least I got 12 Warhorns and 4 Torches before.)
3) Terrible scaling and dungeon design, biggest culprit being Dredge. Instead of fixing the actual dungeon and making it any measure of fun, they fix workarounds and extend the length even more, completely blind to the actual problems.

Thanks, I’ll stick to normal dungeons. I’ll have Frostfang and Bolt by the time I get a Fractal Axe and Sword. Just for the record, I’ve been trying for either of those, every single day on 30s and 40s, FOR OVER AN ENTIRE YEAR.

Generally speaking I would say FoTM indeed offers terrible rewards overall, compared to 3 paths of AC. The RNG for fotm should be increased rather than decreased when you are running 40/50 at least. And last point 3 pretty much summed out OP.

But then again, my personal reason for running fotm is for the tonic, but that’s pretty much irrelevant.

Just finished running AC p1/3 with a naked PUG team. Please don’t make dungeons easier.

I assume OP is new to the game and talking from a new player coming to this game perspective. If you’re familiar with the mechanics of the dungeon anything such as running naked should be possible. But from OP perspective, no. Just no.

Beside simply as how AI works in this game, all you need is cleave damage and stack behind something. PvE #nutshell or at least dungeon. That applies especially to CoE, where basically all fights are like that. Stack behind something, let the mob stack nice and tight around your team, then cleave them off with PBAoE.

Hello everyone.

Today I’d like to talk about a problem that have been here since the release of that certain map. The dredge fractal. I’m pretty sure I’m not the first to complain or wanting to discuss this, and i’m not going to be the last either. I was just notified by fellow redditors when I read the following message.

So what/how are people exploiting the dredge fractal? Simply there was two approach.

Level 50 fotm missing daily chest?

I can confirm on that and was myself about to write a topic when I stumbled over this post.

I did no level between 40-50 before doing this level. I recently looted the chest as you can see on the right side of the picture, but there are no daily chest.

I keep telling my friends its no point of doing 50’s as you don’t get any daily and rather stick to 49 runs…

Not good. Better be fixed. Now ascended armor/weapon/accessory are accessible.

Of course player style differ from what sort of overloaded materials a player have. If you noticed how one champion box now only give 2-9 dust from what it used to be like 11-20 which toned it down. As well for toxic recipe that burns 100 blood dust and now their also available for making of ascended backpiece if you don’t like doing Fractal of The Mist. But yeah I just wish they address other aspect of these ascended materials then just blood dust.

These Empyrial Fragments...

Lately a-net have addressed the overload of blood dust. I think it was a well done implanted and made a happy environment for everyone. But as a daily dungeon runner I keep getting these stacks of Empyrial Fragments. I try to spend my obsidian shard to forge these into empyrial stars. I have a couple now in my bank and figured if a-net could address some sort of recipe that used empyrial fragments as I lately just keep deleting them. Which is quite a shame.

Any thoughts?

Whenever I enter a dungeon with my guild or do a Pug, I keep getting this annoying box telling me this.

The world you are attempting to join is full. Please try to have your party member join you in your world

with the following code: 33:9:13:940:101 or 33:53:3:462:101 or 33:9:17:1719:101

It happen so often lately its not even fun doing dungeons/ fractal or any instance there is in this game. Because I have to literally

1. Exit client, start client up.
2. Change to 3-4 characters before I get in.
3. Ask my party members to re-invite me.
4. Literally go in and out the instance gate to get the prompt up, to then hit enter, to then get the error message, to then repeat the process until I get in.

Seriously a-net this is not mac friendly at all. I run League of Legends perfectly, I run Team Fortress 2 perfectly. My internet is fine for this thing. Its just this happen so often its no fun.

My question is… how do I address this? Can you (a-net) address this?

I’m not going to be a party pooper, but I will look at it in a realistic way. First of all let us look at what we currently have in this game. We have a bank that is account bounded. (There are several games MMORPG out there, that has Bank per character). We can access the bank by going to major towns or hopefully find the bank tag in open PvE map (Crafting stations, Bank NPC in mount maelstorm etc).

When we look at gemstore we can find a bank golem which we have access for two weeks of the price of 500 gems. It does the same purpose which an account bag would do + a little bit more because its your bank.

Then if we do open tons of Black Lion Chests or are willing to put a thousands of gold on the trading post for it. We can get aPermanent Bank Access which then again serve the same purpose as an account bag + more. Again you can Buy/ farm key till you get it.

Again I don’t say its a bad design to include an account bag. I’m all for it, but looking at it in a realistic way that we already have an account bag which is called a bank and can be upgraded to 12 bag slots. That’s 12 × 20 = 240 slots of bag space.

So any words?

Reading that a a-net staff posting about this event lasting out through out November, December and Partly January seems pretty interesting. I mean when I watched the Live stream about this tower, it took them 4 months to develop this LS. I Figure that if it takes 4 months to develop this content and its going to last 3 months? It must has pretty heavy content. Like the stream about this tower, we’re currently trying to get known to these new alliance, also if you’ve tried to swim close to the tower we get poison damage that we cannot cure. It’s like the towers defence system till we know how to by pass that barrier. And who knows maybe we get to enter this mysterious tower? Maybe this tower will act like a dungeon with several levels? It really makes me curious and excited for the upcoming patches.

Lol… are you serious? Its all champion bags, doesn’t matter where you acquired them, They all got hit by the nerf hammer. It might be a good sign for people want lesser bloodstone dust , making the the new recipie (especially Toxic Focusing Crystal)http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Toxic_Focusing_Crystal worth a slightly more due to bloodstone dust nerf. But it sucks for people wanting raw money which I feel the whole topic is all about. The raw money these bags offer. (not the items that follow when popping a bag)

I’d say with the technology the have shown us with the account wallet, they should do that with the personal bank. -unlimited. That would save the tremendous amount of ascended materials we keep getting.

Would it be some sort of negative effect of it? not that I can think of other then peacefully stacking them, till the day you use them.

Playing support is not only about skills and traits, but also about weapons as well. I feel that Rangers still suffer from low number of meaningful finishers, such as blasts. Though I do understand reasoning of those who claim that blast finisher on Maul could be OP. Nevertheless, lack of those finishers is something that hampers viability of our class in some aspects of the game.

All in all, as much as I’m happy with the attention being given to support-based playstyles, I’m worried that Rangers may get the short end of the stick again, simply because how the class has been designed so far. We don’t have too many tools, and most of those we do have require much more than simple buffs.

Why. Guardians have blast each 4 sec. And could stack endless protection and retaliation to themselfs and allies. Why couldn’t rangers have something like this but with water fields? Given the fact that the support skills on ranger’s weapons are almost absent.

That’s a harsh one, I do understand that this patch is all about supporting party members, but to think of the guardian… Guardian was designed to protect party member. Their whole system is built around that. ( Altruistic Healing, Pure of Voice, Shielded Mind etc.) Rangers however… I see them as a-net see them in the 112 collector edition booklet…

Ranger One would be forgiven for thinking of the ranger as a role-playing staple that would certainly be carried over to sequel, but as Jon Peters tells it, the ranger profession was not in the original plan. “There was a warden and marksman and a bunch of other professions that went away. Ultimately we were left with just marksman, but he only had this one aspect – ranged weaponry – and didn’t feel complete. So we rolled in aspects of the warden and a beast mater class, and decided to name him the ranger again. We try to keep the iconic stuff from the original game, even if just in name and spirit.”

They have to buff more pets in that case, which we already have seen in this tiny preview. Maybe add more effects to the pet skill (such as blast or projectile you name it…)

More thief nerfs I see. Thanks! It really makes me want to play my class when all I can look forward to are nerfs, while other people get to be genuinely excited about the changes to the professions they play.

I think A-net want to make a game where you can do counter play. I mean what is a game with zero counter play? A boring game. (a sample is when quickness was at 100% and gave zero counter play)

I know the thief is suppose to be master of mobility, hence the amount of shadow steps and stealths. It is in its nature that in order for an assassin to work properly you need mobility. However what I can read out on this preview is fine tune the numbers and give the pistol option for thief a buff.

Ps. When I meant counter play it goes for warrior combo f1 mace (skull crush) to skills 2 on greatsword (one hundred blades), which needs a fix? or is ok? or its argument with we have enough stun breaker in the game to cope that.

And speaking of rumours… any confirmation that skill 4 on hammer warrior, staggering blow will be useable when on move instead of stop on one spot wait 1sec for it to activate then move?

Precursors have a kittened high price at the moment, but I guess its due to the huge money spit in during queen’s jubilee. If this version of eternity would become a reality, I would imagine loads of people driving the prices of the precursor, in a ridiculous price then what it is today. Dawn floats around 600g while dusk floats around 790-810g. Now you can imagine eternity being a reality. precursor around 1k g? C’mon that’s a bad way to set the precursor at because simply one unique legendary such as eternity would cause huge demands. What about the people that only want one of the certain great sword, is it really worth driving the price in such high manner?

I mean I do love the idea of eternity you have there, but I am scared of the consequences which will come out of this blade.

Some time before the end of the year, all players will be able to craft the precursors themselves so no, I do not imagine this would be an issue in the slightest. By February i would assume the price of dawn / dusk will be in the 200g range.

That is pretty interesting cause the otherday I went on a fan site (of course this isn’t a 100% official statement by arenanet but this is what he said)

“I was going to post about something completely different – I had finished writing and translating it and everything really – but then THIS comes out and everything else suddenly seems so unimportant! ArenaNet’s reply to people asking, begging and crying for craftable Legendaries is… craftable Ascended Weapons! Not quite the same, of course, but is it necessarily worse? Let’s have a assiduous look at what it’s all about and find out. As an example I shall use the very weapon that developer Linsey Murdock demonstrated in the video – the brand new and purply ‘Wupwup Claymore (Ascended)’ greatsword.”

And if you give it a thought. Ascended weapon crafting do well as legendary, only difference is its not versatile as the legendary. Which make me doubt that there will never be a way to address precursor, now that ascended weapon crafting do the same job as a legendary would do.

i feel like the real issues presented in this thread (other than bugs) can be boiled down to two:

1- levels are too kitten long. it would’ve been much better and casual-friendly if levels were the length of 3 or so checkpoints. that way players wouldn’t have to sit through a level for over an hour to get through with it. it’s not a difficulty challenge, it’s a time challenge. the length makes it feel boring and tiresome. it’s not the amount of content, but the amount of content that must be done in one sitting.

2- there’s a disconnect between the amount of baubles obtained and the amount of lives required to go through levels the first time. you said that you’re giving nods to the arcade days of requiring coins to continue, and of the grind experience required to progress in games like FF. however, the problem is that no one, ever in the history of gaming, enjoyed running out of coins at an arcade. the whole continue coin thing was specifically designed to nickel and dime players out of their money and that’s not something that any developer should willingly bring to their player. then there’s the grind. grinding is always a chore, but you put up with it in RPGs because at least you’re getting something out of it (you’re getting stronger). grinding baubles for continue coins serves only one purpose: gate people out of stuff they’d rather be doing until they spend X amount of time getting enough continues to go back to what they want to do. that’s bad design, old school nods or not, and it escalates when you consider how long the levels are.

You are aware that you don’t even have to spend a single baubles to buy the continue coin. Simply if you do happen to die, leave the instance and come back again. what does this lead to?

1. You don’t spend your bauble.
2. You can enter as many time you’d like, as long you have someone inside the instance.
3. You don have to do the old grind as you say.

This was known since first time SAB was released. However the loading screen might be tiresome if you do happen to die a lot, but then there is infinity continue coin if you’re fed off the grinding for continue coin.

On the other side… somewhere in world three, you’d face this ice wall. Was it intended for the torch to cost 400 bauble? I find it stupid, that if you do not have this bauble amount of bauble, you’re simply forced to grind the 400 bauble to then be able to continue world 3. Also somewhere in world 3 there is this place where you jump inside a cave upwards. It’s very long, and some what dark in the corners. My group of five people spent several hours getting up there and once we got there it felt like a relief to let lose a 40KG bag (as what it felt). Some checkpoint in W3 are placed so close to each other it makes no sense while other are too far away. Please do something about the checkpoints.

Overall I loved the final boss match with the storm mage and would like to see similar bosses like him in the future.

"upgrade account" trading post bug

I too have that problem despite my toon being this old. I cannot buy gem, sell stuff on trading post… however I can buy things on trading post which makes it all odd…

As previous post mentioned we should try to restart the client which I have done and nothing worked. There is also talk about deleting temporary files in the folders which ive also done and did not work too.

we’ll also improve the functionality of legendaries, allowing you to set their stats when out of combat to any stat combo available, so you don’t need to transmute stat changes for legendaries. Legendary gear will remain with the same tier of stats as ascended gear and will not be made more powerful than other gear, it will simply be slightly more convenient since it will no longer need transmutations to change stats.

Like many other people, they didn’t want the PTV stats on their weapon. In my case I have a sunrise, and like many other we transmuted into stats we would like. by doing this we knew we would lose the legendary status. We also knew that by doing this with this sword you would not be able to create Eternity if we would go for it.

So my humble question is. With this change… Will people that own sunrise or twilight get the legendary status back, and still be able to create Eternity?

But assuming so what rising dusk said. Would you think a-net would pay out 3 million crystal transmutation stone, because player 1 was “complaining/ asking question” about changing skins? Of course there could be a new design on this armour that we probably would like better then what we currently have. There could also be a new feature that let you choice your skin for the new armor, what do I know. But am 100% sure that a-net would not cash out 18 million crystal transmutation stone. ( assuming 3 million copy of the game from the blog, armor set contain 6 pieces so 3million times 6 equals 18 million)

@Torqueblue You make it sound like this was the only intended way. Of course I do see your points and view, but if we’re going say this is the only way to let A-net gathering money out of our pockets, just because we simply want a rune, I have to disagree on their model design. Its terrible, and most people would then just prefer to level that toon up and get proper runes then bothering with alternative/ temporary runes.

I would like to use the runes that my main has gathered, say Major Rune of Sanctuary on my level 35 Warrior because I find myself in need of sustain. Instead of going the hard way with what you suggested or even spend dungeon tokens which I could use on the proper gear when this toon hit 80, there are no other choice other then using the last one which I mentioned. Unless finding substitute for the actual rune I want to use.

Simply making them account bounded if they so really do need to be would make it all easier, then locking them to one character. Not only for people who want to use them as alternative runes for their lowbies, but also for people forging them in the Mystic Toilet.

This game is about 10 months old, and it makes me wonder why Major rune from dungeon are soul bounded. It makes no sense at all to begin with. If there is would it be much better making them account bounded at least. I know most people use them as either as Mystic Forge food or just simply sell them to an NPC, but for those who want to using it as a temporary runes for let say alternative characters it, it’s not possible because their soulbounded to another character (saying main do the dungeon you want the alternative to use the rune) . I know there were a similar post with WvW blueprints and majority of the post I found, said it was some coding issue and this would be addressed sooner or later, if not its done already… However would any arenanet staff explain to me why these decision were made, if not there will be changes to these rune?

Ps. This also apply to runes dropped as superior quality from dungeon. Sample : Superior Rune of Baelfire.

TA - Forward - Up - Mesmer boss - Crash?

So a guild mate and I decided to make a PUG TA group. We did pretty well with the first part, up, so we decided to take the group to next path, forward up. Now clearing the trash mobs went smooth no problem, passing those death swarm no problem, but then we came to this mesmer boss. We triggered the cinematic cut and off the fight goes. after bashing on her till she got to 50% health remaining the entire client crashed. We all logged back in and asked yourself “wtf is going on here?” “kitten?” So we decided to give it another shot… running back the long way, fighting the mesmer boss took about 10% of her health then, BAM! another client crash. Beginning to be frustrated we though of… we’re going to do it the last time, if it does crash we quit. So we ran the long way up again and bashed the mesmer boss. At the beginning I thought the fight would be fixed, but kitten you lyssa faked it again and another crash report came. Knowing this was our last attempt we gave up continuing.

The moral of this is… Does it often happen cause I can’t remember seeing this crash ever before in any dungeon I have done. Sure the boss might be bugged and glitched, but entire client crash?

As an additional information… I play on the server Gate of Madness, and we also decided to..

a) Skip the dogs in the beginning
b) Skip the tree creature in the beginning.

but still skipping these monster shouldn’t have impact on the dungeon or does it…?

CoF - Path 3 - Torches

I may be wrong with the tactics and stuff, but I have gone through the five “rules” about choice of weapon, armor and so forth to match up the criteria for this path. Now I would like to spend few minutes from you to tell you my experience of path 3.

It is completely impossible for the casual pug. And when I say pug, I mean pick up groups that do not communicate with the other people through a third party software such as ventrilo, teamspeak, mumble, skype and such. If you’re spending a day in LA and observing what people are doing, their only signing up for CoF path 1 and 2, why? Because the casual pick up group can manage that. So what happen to 3? Again its too hard, the imps deals too much damage or the ooze spawn too fast for people to accomplish anything. And in most cases that is the cause people actually dislike doing path 3, it is impossible to do with the casual pug. My PUG team managed to get 4 torches up. We tried our best for about 2 hours, till the casual PUG said “Hey, I had enough.” A dungeon shouldn’t be like that. You’re not suppose to be stuck at the beginning of a dungeon struggling with a coordination of torches being lit.

I personally hope that Arenanet look at the path 3, either you must have a very good team with some sort of IP voice software, to coordinate.

1. when their killing the mobs, so they can lit the torches coordinately without being interrupted.
2. You must be aware to spend 2+ hours trying to get 5 torches lit.

They already made the “trash mobs” significant easier, hence to the 1st October patch note, so bashing through them shouldn’t be a problem at all. On the part with the subject alpha, I do think he is perfect as he should be. He reminds me of a super version dagger/dagger elementalist. What it really does miss is the the tweaks. A report of subject alpha going idle has already been summited, and is noted by the development team. I also think they’re going to look through the entire Subject Alpha, with both bug fixes and balancing.

I’ve also read a post that their monitoring their dungeons. Meaning that they will be looking close at these cases, as it both effect the fun in dungeon and eventually the economy (hence the drops you get)

Beside all these things… I’d like to ask some questions about your setup as these have a significant role to play.
1. What weapon did you choose? (A weapon that provides heavy damage/ movement ability/a mix of both)
2. What are the conditions being applied? (Are someone stacking vurnability? Is some someone buffing you with might? Is someone dishing out heavy damage over time condition?)
3. What tactics are you guys running? (Should we kite the boss? Should we camp the boss at spot? Combo finisher… do not forget the outcome)
4. Is anyone using nutrition? (Food that helps you deal more damage? Food that benefits you in other stats?)
These are just few key question that may be asked before approaching a dungeon.

CoE - Alpha being idle

Now I have done CoE a couple of time and there is something I have noticed with Alpha on the very last part. He tends to go idle at..

1. The entire fight
2. At some point of his lower health (say about when 25% remaining hp and stay idle for the rest of the fight).
3. He stay idle at most of the fight, then suddenly happen to fight back.

Now I don’t how this occur or why it does happen, but if this is not intended to happen at all it better be fixed. It rather better to have a boss you know function 100% rather then having a “50/50” chance where he goes idle at all.

And this happen to all three paths.

Okay.. I did this…. on my charr warrior that was originally a Vigil member… Made an asura necromancer… boosted it up through the mission til the 30’s and till it had access to the armor set… bought it the entire heavy stuff… threw out 6 perfect transmute stone added that on some weird blue heavy stuff that was reasonable cheap… (ofc it says soulsbound once you do that, BUT DO NOT BELIEVE IT) now then I went over to my warrior withdraw another 6 perfect transmute stone and did that heavy skin over my awefull looking armor… and tada my originally charr warrior that is from the vigil has now full heavy set of the whisper…

I have to say that somewhat agree with the 6th but then again a lot of classes has MOVEMENT ABILITY. USE THEM TO DODGE THE AOE IF YOUR ENDURANCE IS EMPTY… That’s what I have been doing…

Guilds - Time stamp on people.

I know its a luxurious problem, and a lot of people might find this a personal stalking… but in guild wars 1 we had the ability to see when people was last logged into the game.

I think its important to get such feature to actually get an idea if that player is active or not. Sooner or later the leader or administration of the guild might ask the question? “when was this player last online?” And then they have to interview members to get an idea of the status of the message. Or even use 3rd party to get the hold of their members. Eventually if you want to ask a simple question everyday, “when was this player last seen online?” You have to do a whole journalistic digging to get the information you want to know instead of simple hover the mouse over the player name and say “Hey, I know when this player was seen online last time”.

I know these points are kind of over exaggerated points of view, but at least you get the idea. It should be simple to know basic information of your guild and eventually your friend list. Instead of being a journalist digging for information about such simple feature. And since the original Guild Wars® had it, why shouldn’t Guild Wars 2 have it?

Just sit outside for 5min and poof reset.

Sit outside for 5 mins… vs right click portrait, reset dungeons… okay guys, let’s get going again?

And poof you just added an exploit of first chest insta reset first chest insta reset ….no thanks. If anyone wants to do that they can sit out side for 5min at a time as their penalty

You can basically do that by using the reset mode.

1. (On your character you want to do dungeon) log out to you character selection.
2. Log in with another character (not the one you’re doing the dungeon with) wait for the screen to load and till you’re in game.
3. (on your toon) Log out to character selection again, and then back to your character you’re doing the dungeon with.
4. The dungeon should be reset by now…

but hey… if you have noticed this.. dungeon tends to be contested as well. This is to point out fluffy’s comment about stuff being exploit… It won’t be if these contested stuff happens more frequently.

Transmute, unsatisfied with the look, can't reverse progress.

I noticed that once an item is transmuted, you can’t do anything else with the armor piece to change its appearance. The only way to get back to the original appearance is by getting a new armor piece. The fact it has to be like this, makes me kind of think that… Every time I do plan to use a transmute, I have to be 100% sure that I want to have that appearance, and there is no way back unless I get a brand new armor piece.

I feel like it shouldn’t be like that. I feel like there should be like a preview window of what the transmuted item would be once the process is done. (This is for instance with new transmute item we have no idea what the end appearance will look like) Or there could be an item that grant us reversed the process of the transmute, leaving us back to the original state.

In the first place these transmute stones are rewards from completing maps, story rewards and so forth. I think that Arenanet choosed to make an item such as reverse the transmute it would be a win situation by adding it to the gem store. Its a good marketing for both players and the company. I also never understood the reason, once an armor/ weapon is transmuted you can’t transmute it again. What’s the benefit of this? What’s the reason for making it this way?

I want to hear what the community have to say about this, cause I think that inventing an item that could reverse the transmute or have an infinity transmute would be much better for the community. It doesn’t harm anyone and it makes people want to explore the ways of transmuting a weapon/armor piece, without getting new armor piece every time they want to try something new.
