I’ve never seen a completely empty map. EVER. Either you are exaggerating, inaccurate, or something is wrong with your map or connection. There are many people in this game and that will continue for quite awhile unless something drastic happens, like the servers melt down, or they pull another City Of Heroes on us. (“we will never forget”) Try going to a World Event to confirm that you are not alone.

When will Mask of the Wanderer skin return?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Sairyan.1465
I really want this skin to complete my char but it hasn’t been available for so long and wiki says it’s temporarily in gem store storage. It was released on a January 7th date. Would that be any indication that it may return around then based on other items you know of? Maybe this summer with Anniversary sales? Any insight or idea would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve heard plenty about the other five dragons. I’m interested in this mysterious water dragon.
Also for the possibility of water environment skills, items, interface, ect. all being completed. Right now underwater mechanics are unfinished.
This part of the game needs a lot of attention. Please give underwater some attention and love Devs! You’ve given us the skies. You’ve given us plenty of land-based gameplay. Now it’s time to explore the depths of the oceans and all the types of creatures and things that could be under there!
Gem shop>toys category. 800 gems.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Musical_LuteIt’s been there for quite a while.
Thx, but I’m not looking for the Lute. I’m wondering if they will have an instrument that sounds like Acan’s – Lute or an acoustic guitar. The Lute you can buy and Acan’s – lute sound very different.
You probably used the word lute. The final ‘s’ in “Acan’s” combined with the first three letters of “lute” form a word the filter doesn’t like. Silly filter.
Oh I see! Lol! :P
I would LOVE to have this instrument or even an acoustic guitar or something that sounds like it.
Is there any chance we could get an instrument like Scout Acan’s – Lute?
Here’s the NPC with the instrument:

I don’t play with the wardrobe, but wouldn’t it be better to simply just hide the skins that are no longer obtainable in game (if they are/were at some point released through BLTC they could stay) in your wardrobe unless you had them unlocked?
This would allow players who own them to still use them, and allow players who don’t own them the luxury of not having the problem OP stated
Basically this ^
Why does Lege armor have to be tied to Raids?

You can’t get legendary weapons through a variety of PvE content it’s pretty much 99% open world.
Well pve content and open world to me mean the same thing. Basically in the majority of content in the game you can contribute to your legendary. But for Leg armor so far it seems mostly exclusive to raids. To unlock it and to build it. But we’ll see how they set up the process.

Only This way , atleast i hope so , it isnt Top Tier its just a skin
Get outta here with that lol. And it is a top tier item. Legendary is highest and most expensive type. Just not stat wise.

Why only raids? If we can get legendary weps in a variety of regular pve content why not the legendary armor? Not everyone likes raids and a top tier of equipment shouldn’t be exclusive only to those who want to raid.
Will there be other options and ways to acquire legendary armor is this the only way?
Why do all Legendary weapons have to be tied to open world Pve content? And exclusive to people that play Pve?
Legendary making/acquiring should be possible in all modes IMO. It seems they are trying to force ppl into raids if they want leg armor.

I’ve been waiting for this update forever. Diablo 3 did this awhile back and it made inventory work so much smoother. Glad to see it finally in GW 2!
Now if only we can adopt D3’s transmogrify skins feature and do away with the ridiculous and overly expensive transmutation charges.
Like in the story missions when your character is talking to others, is there anyway to skip past it and go right to the objective. It’s great the first time and when I want to hear it, but when you’ve played the missions 3+ times it becomes unnecessary when I just want to complete the mission.
Okay thank you!
Like exact time? Will it be out exactly at midnight or later in the day on the 26th?
I’m glad the devs chose to work on Living World over legendaries.
I play GW 2 primarily for the lore aspect, doing things like World Comp, Story Missions, Events, and Mini Dungeons, ect.. So for me, the choice to focus on Living World Season 3 over Legendaries was preferred.
However, I think overall, it was the best decision because expanding the story opens up doors to much more content including new legendaries further down the line.
If they had kept all their work on legendaries, the expansion of the game, going further out into new areas of Tyria, exploring new things, all of that would take so much longer.
I want to thank the Devs for their decision. I know some would still prefer legendaries as it was mentioned in promoting the expansion, but I think we’ve been given enough since, and right now we need something that will move the game much further ahead overall.
We also need to get into the underwater aspect of the game. It needs a lot more work and I would like to find out something, anything more about the underwater dragon.
It’s great until you need to use a ranged weapon
The hammer is ok for solo stuff but try and use it in a group – you’ll definitely notice how horribly slow amd awful it is. Oh and if you’re condi spec for a ranged fight – enjoy spectating it.
That said yeah it’s a fun class. Kinda main it in PvE since my Mesmer has such horrible damage output.
The hammer has one of the strongest autoattacks and damaging abilities tied to it, it’s far from the worst ranged weapon.
What’s more, unlike rangers who need to trait so that their autoattack pierces, the revenant has that baseline. It’s super easy to tag with the hammer.
It’s a terrible ranged weapon because it’s so slow. It’s fine for solo where you actually need the stun and evades (and some bosses granted), but it’s a useless PvP wep sadly.
Edit: Don’t get me wrong, the stun, the evade, the damage – all great for pvp too. But it’s heavily telegraphed and takes a long time to get off which makes it far too easy to avoid.
Slow? Shiro does not agree. He makes things fast.
I main Rev as well, and have a lot of fun with it, but you seem to talk about it like the be-all end-all, making it seem OP when that’s just an illusion
A very well known misunderstanding many people that don’t actually get into the Rev seem to have(Not saying you do too, just pointing it out).
The unlimited upkeep of boons, unlimited super speed, unlimited endurance, those are all conditional.
Specifically, the unlimited boons from the Herald, are very situational as you’ll have to make quick decisions on whether or not to hold those boons or use the active facet, that’s where the Herald’s skill play comes into effect, and until you properly practice it, it’ll seem very easy to keep those unlimited boons but you’ll likely be hurting yourself and your party to an extent, especially when playing a PvP game mode. The Herald may seem like the easiest and at the same time most rewarding legend to play with(I don’t see it that way, definitely not the most rewarding), but it has some underlying skill involved. I think the rev is a lot like thief, at least personally, where it’s really easy to get into, but hard to master. Not just CD’s but energy management too, especially when it comes to other legends with less passive utilities(no facets).
Definitely enjoying Rev though, hoping ANet FIXES many of their game-breaking bugs soon (when I say game breaking, I mean they simply put me off playing gw2 at times). And looking forward to how the profession gets expanded with ES’s. Also, a better explained background story would be nice…..
No class is the ultimate OP, but the Rev sure comes close. I’ve played all the professions and experimented with many builds for each including meta builds. The Rev succeeds all of them in terms of having consistent/quick use of their powerful abilities and combinations of those abilities. Combine that with their versatility and they can overpower almost any enemy/situation. With their boon upkeep and synergies they never have to lose any of those abilities they drop and if they do they have alternate abilities in that build just as great that are used during the recharge.
Revs have their flaws and weaknesses as any other class, but when you build and use them right, they more than compensate for those issues. And of course with all the professions, you need to master their builds to know what they are capable of. I’ve come to the conclusion after much testing… the Rev rox my sox ; )
(edited by Sairyan.1465)
The Rev has become one of my favorite professions since I’ve created one. Some say they are boring, but I’ve had so much fun with the class for many reasons.
First off, they have unlimited upkeep of boons like fury, regeneration, protection, swiftness, and more. They can cast powerful skills instantly. Nearly unlimited super speed. Nearly unlimited endurance and movement-impediment removal. They can consistently and effectively siphon life, evade damage, remove/negate conditions, speed stack conditions, rapid heal, break stun, and more.
Revs have awesome versatility like the Ele (my main) and powers that can quickly overpower the enemy or bypass their defenses. They are an asset in parties.
Every time I’m on another character, I always miss having the benefits and the balance the Rev class has with all their abilities.
I just want to thank the devs for making this class and all the ideas, design, everything that went into it.
Scarcity makes people purchase, even if it’s artificial scarcity.
If people know that luxury item X will be in the store forever and ever then they’ll frequently put off purchasing. There’s no rush because it will always be there. Since something better may come along they figure they might as well wait. If people know that item X is going to leave then it pushes them to decide to get it now as they’ll won’t be able to get it later.
Makes sense, but it’s too bad you can’t design your character the way you want to, when you want to, and when you’ve done the work for it.
A majority of the items, especially the most popular and useful are only available for a few days and they are taken off again. Then they come back and disappear again. Why not just leave all the gem store items on there? When I want to add a certain skin to complete my characters design, I find that the skin isn’t available anymore. And when I finally save up enough money for something on the gem store, it’s taken down.
What is the purpose behind this? You would think there would be more profit from items left up there than only brought out once in awhile.
Saved me so much time leveling my last 80 char and I was saving to get the shared slot, and you gave me both today! Also the other patch updates are fantastic. Thank you GW 2 Devs for all the work and passion you bring to this game.
(edited by Sairyan.1465)
For some reason my characters run slower than other players and the speed decreases periodically and randomly. I always use swiftness and when running along side other players who have the same swiftness boon, I am still slower. The only time I actually match their speed is when I have super speed on, and even then they do not have super speed, just regular swiftness.
I’ve noticed this problem a lot and I’m wondering now if it has anything to do with internet connection or lag. Would a slower connection make it appear as if my character is running slowly even if the rest of the gameplay is running smoothly?
Or is there some other issue or mechanic I am unaware of?
Makes travel and movement in general so much smoother. Plus seeing everything from the air is awwwwwwwwesome!
Darn :/ Was hoping to increase my gathering quota per day. Thanks for the info.
I went to Character choosing screen, selected a server, pressed “Guest”, it said "You are now guesting in so and so server, and then I pressed play and found myself in the exact same home server. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks. Wish they worded it better.
Description says: “Greater attunement with the fractals will grant bonus rewards from Chests of the Mists as well as Unlocked Fractal Encryptions. Fractal potion conversion also improves.”
So what does it mean by “Unlocked Fractal Encryptions”?
Does unlocked fractal encryptions mean that we don’t need the keys anymore? If so, it doesn’t seem to work for me.
I just wanted to say, upon reflecting on my gaming the past few years, that Guild Wars 2 sits above and beyond all else, and for the years to come.
Thank you.
Same here. GW 2 is by far the best MMO I’ve played and my favorite game period. I’ve spent more time on it than any other that’s for sure. This is a result of game creators that have not only done such a great job, but continue to improve and really care about making the best game possible. It’s all in the details.
Now I can roll (or float) in style with my guild’s emblem for everyone to see ; ) It’s little things like this that make me love this game even more!
Heart of Thorns was a hugely fulfilling experience.
Whoever did the art design should be given rewards for their incredible work. HoT is by far the most beautiful and immersive game I have seen in a long time. There is nothing like gliding over the massive vines in Verdant Brink with the sun’s light gleaming around you or seeing the Golden Exalted in Aurin Basin and the City of Tarir. Tangled Depths look amazing. The sound design and music are also fantastic and immerse you into each area even more.
The vertical environments are well used where getting to a place isn’t just about going around a corner, but is instead about going up and down levels and between floors.
I love the storyline. GW 2, The Living World 1-2, and now HoT all have a great story to follow and I’ve enjoyed each of them. I can’t wait to see where it goes next. I also like how they avoided many clichés with the way certain characters could go and really delved deep into the Mordrem story.
All the new features are great additions. Gliding is how I dreamed and so fluid. I’m glad they let us use our wings as a glider. Always wanted to fly with them. The Elite specializations, especially the Elementalist’s are a lot of fun and greatly needed. The Revenant has become one of my new favorite professions.
I really like the streamlined process of getting mats for legendaries now with the map bonuses.
The communication, actions, and fluid movement of the conversations in real-time with the team and other characters in the world really helped to immerse me in the story even more. I felt like the commander and that my character really embraced and mastered that role. I’m glad they didn’t use the cinematic conversations this time.
Everything is taken up to the next level in difficulty which is exactly what was needed for level 80 characters and I love how it demands the best from us. We have to be both prepared and act fast to survive and think more perceptively to get around and advance.
I originally felt the masteries killed the pacing of the experience. Because it’s different than what we knew and because we are so adamant to get to the end as quickly as possible, the design felt like a hindrance at first, but after doing it all, it starts to feel cohesive and necessary to the overall experience. It also really added to my preparation of everything to come. Like most new games, once you explore it and get into it more, it starts to make more sense and soon become enjoyable. The masteries also make a great endgame.
The only flaw I found was in the Mordremoth fight sequence. I wish he actually looked like a dragon, like Zhaitan did. When he appeared I thought it was one of his minions.
Also on the Moredremoth sequence in particular… why does every game have to include the line “You will never defeat me!” for their final boss? It’s the most cliche, cringe-worthy line. There was plenty of other good dialogue that fit Moredremoth well. That line just needs to be cut.
Overall the expansion is a great experience and once again the GW 2 team has out-done themselves. They should all feel very proud of themselves and their work. Thank you for creating Heart of Thorns!
(edited by Sairyan.1465)
What about those that aren’t lazy, like challenge and opportunity to use skill, welcome group content, and happily paid for the expansion they were excited to play, but simply hate grinding the same events over and over for barely any experience?
Why not just bump up the experience and let us progress instead of having us grind way more than should be necessary? We’re not gaining anything from repetitive grinding. I rather put that time into grinding for legendary mats.
I agree except that leveling a mastery by doing events that give very little experience IS a grind. The fact that you need a group to do most events also takes more time if there aren’t any around.
Just increase the experience amount per event and the game would be great.
Why are the other professions not listed? Elementalist and Engineer are my favorites. Most fun class? Not even on there. That’s discrimination.
I love riding a pillar of earth over plant folks. Healing in a bubble of water. Burning them walkin’ salads. And calling a storm that follows me. GW 2 creators why do you spoil me so?!
Absolutely love everything about expansion.

Love the map bonuses, masteries process, GLIDING of course, the story, the detail, the fact that your character actually speaks more and openly without going into a cinematic-conversation, the fact that enemies can do more like dodge your attacks and fight unpredictably. GW 2 Devs you have out-done yourselves with this one. Please keep doing what you do and never stop. 10/10
Took so many screenshots of me flying over them vines!
I’m curious is it actually launched?
Or is it just pre-update?If it’s pre-update, when would the real thing come?
It’s all launched!!! Playing right now!
Amen!
Cheers!!!
And every GW 2 player!!!!
WOOOOO!!!!
Completed!!! 30 Min left till button push!!!
Why do I have a new download when I don’t own HoT? Did I forget I bought it?
Halloween stuff.
I’m at 25%!!!! :O
WOOOO!!!
HOT!!!!!!
According to Matthew Medina and Lena Chappelle on Twitch, the last story instance is going to be very powerful and emotional and satisfying.
Can’t wait!
Got all my snacks and drinks: Reg and cool ranch dorritos, fritos, and tostitos, plenty of salsa and dip, barbecue pork ribs, hot dogs, deluxe supreme extra large pizza, buffalo wings with ranch dipping sauce, 24 pack of mountain dew and pepsi, twinkies, hoho’s, oh and a small caeser salad.
Shut off my phone. Locked all the doors. Had plenty of sleep.
Now… my body and mind are ready. Bring on Heart of Thorns!!!
While there are things to work out after the new patch, I’m very happy with the new updates and the new build system and design.
Thank you Devs for the creative and technical choices you make and the overall direction of the game. I can’t wait to play HoT!
