I agree with Pixelpumpkin. I think there should be something in game that tells you when the LS content will end. Personally I never know, so sometimes that does stop me from even trying the content.

ETA: sorry OP, that stinks.

Came back today after about a year maybe less, started to do the aftermath achievements, had gotten 6 or 7/12 about 2 hours trying to figure out where to go and waiting on the spawns, my pc crashes and game updates….. Log in can’t finish the achievements I had started so I just wasted 2 hrs for nothing?

Granted my mmorpg experience is limited to WoW, GW, Rift and SWTOR but only time I’ve seen reward content ended like that was 3 times in WOW in 6 years ( sunwell open, scourge event and the troll event for cata?) holiday events in GW, surely if they attach achievements and rewards the content should be able to be completed anytime? Would be like if blizzard added a raid for ( insert how long these things last) and then remove it.

Just had to vent, as doing something that was decent( I enjoyed the solo instance) and soloing the worm thing, but to end up with not being able to finish is like a slap to the face.

Well, yeah. For the 100th time: deadlines for content (and achievements) should be communicated in game (on the achievement pages).

We all know when the month ends (thanks for the timer anyway…) but we typically only guess (among the forum population) when a living story chapter ends. ANet used to write this in the patch notes, but don’t seem to bother with even that anymore. And the non-forum population… doesn’t have even that, and is completely screwed.

How hard can it be?

It would be a better game.

For WvW it would encourage fighting rather than fleeing.

For PvE it would encourage content that requires teamwork instead of smacking your facea gainst the keyboard

Huge lack of armor in-game, cash shop rampant

It is really aggravating to me that you are adding tons of new content, which is often high quality stuff, that have little rewards attached to them; all the while you make cool armors that are locked behind a pay wall in the cash shop. One of these times you are going to have to add new armor that people don’t have to pay for if you want people to stick around. Having these armor sets bing adeed to the Living Story would make the game progress much better and would make me and a bunch of other players feel accomplished for doing it. I’m afraid people are going to bail (again…) when they realize that the Living Story is nothing more than a time sink with little even for the lore freaks.

I just don’t want to see this game turn into another cash shop game where I have to spend real money and I don’t want to have to farm gold forever just to get this stuff. I want you guys to actually make this Living Story thing worth my time and effort. I like having a goal to reach but there just isn’t one at the moment, back pieces just aren’t holding my attention…

Actually you did. You were a snide tool and should have helped them instead of expecting everyone to know how to skip mobs like that’s what you’re supposed to do.

This is why I hate dungeons. People like you. Not everybody knows how to skirt around content for the sake of speed and in all honesty I wish ANet would bottleneck dungeons so you HAD to fight some of the trash. Then maybe people would learn proper kitten teamwork.

Skipping In Dungeons And Other Improvements

Hello Guild Wars 2 Developers,

Lately I have been writing down some things, which I think, would improve the game, here are the results.

-Dungeons
“Skip this, skip that, skip everything, skip skip skip.” That’s all I see in dungeons these days, and I’m sick of it. It NEVER saves time, it only costs more time because there is always someone who dies later on and then he/she has to walk back, again past those same “skip”-packs, and dies again and again because noone wants to run back to help kill those packs like they were supposed to do in the first place, also, half the time skipping fails in the progress and then the whole group ends up dead and the whole story start over again. I have the perfect solution to this skipping-nonsense : If you run away far enough the enemy will stop chasing you and run back to where it came from, how about skipping that enemy-behavior from dungeons, so this whole useless time-wasting skipping stuff is brought to a halt and we can play dungeons the normal way.

-Points of Interest
It would be really nice to have a log for each discovered point of interest (similar to the one for personal story) with a little background story of the place.

-Heart Events
Every completed heart event sends a letter to your mailbox, after a while your mailbox gets really full from all these letters. I suggest a log similar to the one described above so we can delete all those mails and still read them back whenever we want.

-Vista’s
Well you’ve guessed it, another log, with the option to watch back your discovered Vista’s from the area you are currently standing in.

-Waypoints
The costs of waypoints have been a thorn in the eye for many players, here is a great solution : Lets say you have 100% completion of Gendarran Fields, in that case all waypoints within Gendarran Fields are free of use as long as you are standing IN Gendarran Fields (similar to cities). Since you’ve helped out to make the area a better/saver place it would make sense lore-wise aswell

-Customized Soundtracks Part 1
I love this feature, however I noticed some things, for example : Whenever a (world)boss battle starts, my playlist gets played in the same order every time, so I barely hear a different song for the shorter fights, the same goes for the main menu when you start the game or relog to another character. Is it possible to change this feature so whenever a certain playlist starts, it picks a random song ? And last but not least, could you change it so that we hear City music in Lion’s Arch instead of Ambient ? It IS the main city after all

-Customized Soundtracks Part 2
I’m just throwing out idea’s : There are different types of area’s like forests, swamps, snowy mountains, desert-type area’s, since we can add our own music to the game it would be really sweet if it’s possible to add more playlists for these types of area’s, for example :
-Swamp / SwampNight
-Snow / SnowNight
-etc etc, you can see where I’m going with this hehe
EDIT: and a new one I just thought of , PersonalStory playlist

Well that was all, I hope you can do something with this

These events don’t deserve to give rares. You get tons of people at the event killing a mob with little to no difficulty. 30 seconds of autoattacking and you get a guaranteed rare. I showed up to Teq (right after Shadow Beh), hit him with about 5 skills and got 2 rares and and exotic while never being hit. That’s plain stupid. These events are stupidly easy and deserve nothing more than they originally gave.

Open world needed better drops, not these faceroll events.

100% agree.

Tongue-in-cheek trolling aside, I think the OP does kind of have a point. PVP gear is only aesthetic and can ONLY BE WORN IN PVP, so it doesn’t really feel all that special.

I mean, sure you play for fun. Duh. But an MMORPG is supposed to give unique feelings of progression, and you know it.

So ever since I started playing GW2, I love PvP, but I’ve found myself wondering, “What the KITTEN is the point?”

As it stands now, there seems to be no real reward and progression made when you “win” a PvP match. What are you winning, really?

Glory, rank, and chests.

Cool, so I get a higher rank. Cool, I get glory which is used to unlock new items, and I get chests with new stuff in it? Sounds nice.

One catch, what the kitten is glory even used for? Oh? Unlocking new gear you say?

Well what’s so special about this new gear? Nothing?! It has the same stats as my old gear?!

So let me ask the forum this question. What’s the point of it all?

Warrior Bugs Thread (needs new maintainer)

in Warrior

Posted by: Sami.1560

Sami.1560

INTRODUCTION

The Warrior bug thread isn’t being maintained by anyone and going by recent patches isn’t being looked at. Other classes have an organised bug thread run by the community and receive bug updates, and dispute me compiling all of the known bugs into a comprehensive list in two places (one in the “official” Warrior bug thread and one in the Game Bugs forum, which was merged into the original bug thread by the moderators) the Warrior has still only received a small handful of bug fixes. Could well be that due to the information being buried in the old thread, so hopefully this will resolve that and provide ArenaNet with a clear and concise list to work from.

So, in the hopes of emulating the success of the other classes’ bug threads, I’m going to start the Warrior one. It will be maintained for as long as possible/necessary. Should the bug list get down to a few outstanding issues then I won’t bother, but all the while the list is at 60+ I will of course keep on top of it. Please keep in mind that I have a full-time job and a part-time life, so the original thread won’t be updated the second you post something.

THE RULES
Please follow these to make my life, other poster’s lives and ArenaNet’s lives easier.

1. Check the list of outstanding bugs before replying. If the bug is already listed and you have nothing more to add, don’t reply. The bug will be removed from the list when it is removed from the game.

2. Outside of a few quality of life changes, this is not the thread for Warrior buffs/nerfs. Have a useful idea to fix a bug (such as charges overshooting at the like)? Fine. Want 100 blades to be useable on the move? Not for this thread.

3. If you find a new bug, please post it here with as much information as possible. Useful information includes whether the bug requires a particular combination of traits/buffs/conditions/gear/etc, whether it only works against certain targets, etc. If you can’t provide detailed analysis, just post the circumstances that caused you to experience the bug and other players should be able to work out the exact issue.

4. Another patch came out with no bug fixes? Complain somewhere else. Want to slag off ArenaNet? Do it somewhere else. OMG GUARDIAN BUFFS?!?! Don’t care.

Warrior Skill - Rush

The warrior skill rush should be fine tuned a little bit, its a bit frustrating when i press 5 and the target is directly in front of me but he continues to rush without actually hitting the target. Also when im running away from an enemy and i dont have Whirlwind attack up my other option is to use Rush, but the problem is even if i dont have an enemy target it will Rush to the nearest enemy. Today i hit rush going over a bridge running away from an enemy and it rushed to a target under the bridge making me fall off and having to walk all the way back up to where i was which is a bit annoying. Can we fix Rush to not target the nearsest enemy or at least give the option to do so? and Rush should be fine tuned to attack an enemy instead of having the feeling im rolling a dice hoping it will land a hit

Color-Coordinated Combo fields.

Ever been in a massive fight, and seen all those yellow-circles everywhere? You are equipped with a blast finisher and need health badly. Your heal is on cooldown. How do you tell which field is water and which is poison? Well right now, you don’t! You perish and because pugs are dumb, you don’t get revived.

How can we avert this untimely demise? Color code friendly combo fields! The outside ring would just be a different color than the yellow one we have right now.

Red- Fire
Light Blue- Water
Dark Blue- Ice
Yellow- Lightning
Green- Poison
White- Light
Black- Dark
Gray- Smoke
Purple- Ethereal

Now if we could only buff the fields themselves…

If you don’t? Why is it the case?

So I been playing this game since launch and I have used the “Looking for group” for awhile now while soloing. Every time I have checked the list literally no one is “looking for group” Since you guys “monitor” game activity (Coming from the post about everyone waypoint rushing in dungeons) Do you guys plan on maybe making this tool more useful?

I’m in lions arch right now and not one person is “looking for group” maybe it’s just my server? Bad luck? Does anyone else use this tool? Will this tool maybe be used for a Dungeon finder or maybe to enter a queue to party up for a dungeon or big events? Some info I guess would be nice.

Agreed, medium armor is pretty mehh at the time..
The only (non cultural) one I like is the “Duelist” set. Hopefully ANET will notice that 9 out of 10 thief/ranger/engi are wearing that style of armor and make more similar ones in the near future.

Strictly Aethestics here.

As a player with two medium armor characters, I feel that the medium armor choices are very limited. Most of the armors are a variation of trench coats, and none of them seem very form fitting. In fact, the lvl80 Karma vendor one makes you look really wide and bulky. It’s like…I also like the human cultural T2 chest, but for some reason, the moment i put it on, my character looked as though she grown in size, and her chest became abnormally huge.

I would like a change to that. If the coat trend is a “thing” to the medium armors, it would be nice if it’s slightly smaller on the females. The boots/shoes are also way too bulky, and makes you look as though you have super big feet.

Also, I would like to see more headgear variations. For instance with the light armor, there’s the acolyte jewel looking thing, and the feathered headpiece is awesome…it would be great we can have some more choices.
